I think the Rohmühle has always been a very special place, and it remains so to this day. Its location on the Rhine, the respectful interior design in such a historically valuable building, the unobtrusive ambiance at any time of day… And above all, the remarkably friendly and attentive service team always gives me that wonderful feeling of having a great time at the restaurant. Today (November 16, 2025) was another such lovely evening with friends. Our table was looked after by the young server Ikrawie, who expertly guided us through the evening. This is worth mentioning because Ikrawie has only been working at the Rohmühle as an apprentice for a year. Many thanks to her as well. We will gladly return.

It's a mixed bag. The food is good, of course. But the prices have risen dramatically, and the service isn't great. It's a trend you see everywhere. We still like going there because of the atmosphere on the Rhine.

We attended the saxophone evenings at the Rohmühle this summer and were absolutely thrilled. The food could be improved, depending on what you order. However, this didn't matter to us at all because of the incredibly beautiful atmosphere created by the saxophonist's live music. The friendly and attentive service also deserves special mention. We had planned to attend every saxophone evening at the Rohmühle. So we were all the more disappointed to hear in October that this was the last saxophone lounge for the time being. A real shame. Especially during Advent and winter, the atmosphere at the Rohmühle, which can sometimes feel a bit impersonal due to its hall-like space despite the otherwise pleasant decor, would be greatly enhanced by this soulful live music, transforming a visit to the Rohmühle from "nice, but not essential" to an absolute "must-do"!

We had a team event and the food and atmosphere were very nice, but what really stood out was the wonderful blonde waitress; she was always very attentive and courteous. Thank you so much!

We went to the Rohmühle restaurant this evening to celebrate my sister's birthday. I've been going to the Rohmühle for a while now and am always more than satisfied. You always have a wonderful evening there! Our server, Pari, a very friendly young woman, contributed significantly to this lovely evening. The service was outstanding! Thank you so much! The service was terrible. We had reserved a table (I wonder why) but didn't get one. The food wasn't warm, the wine wasn't chilled... I won't even mention the rest. A disaster.

The service was unfriendly and arrogant; they slammed the water bottle down on the table and walked away, forcing us to open and pour it ourselves. It was more like a fast-food joint. We also had to ask several times for a printed receipt; the server would only tell us the total amount verbally. The food was disappointing. My companion's was bland, and mine was drowning in oil and overloaded with garlic slices, some burnt and some raw. The flavor was sadly nothing like it used to be. It's a shame, because the ambiance is really lovely!

The friendly service almost makes up for the food (tavern quality, but unfortunately not in price or portion size...). The schnitzel was good, the burratina uninspired. Two and a half cherry tomatoes couldn't save it... Plus, it was simply too loud for my taste.

The Rohmühle has a very pleasant atmosphere – rustic, bright, and spacious all at once. The service was friendly and quick. We had breakfast there. The selection offered a wide variety of options, and everything was absolutely delicious.

A stylish restaurant overlooking the Rhine with a great conservatory. The service was very good and friendly, and dogs are allowed. We had coffee and cake which was very delicious and homemade. Highly recommended.

Food: I think 3 stars would be very disrespectful, but it shouldn't be more than 4 stars either. Neither particularly bad nor particularly good. Staff: Friendly, attentive, and quick. 5 stars.

We had a company party here. Initially, our table wasn't ready and there wasn't enough set for one person. After that, everything went quite well. The wait was a bit long. The appetizers and desserts were divine. The main courses could have been better. The salad was comparable to rabbit food. Completely unmarinated. There was no seasoning provided either.

The service is very friendly and seems professional; there's room for improvement in some areas, but that's just nitpicking. The ambiance is very nice, the restaurant is clean, and it has a beautiful location on the Rhine. Unfortunately, the food didn't really impress me, and the price/performance ratio is too high. Great restaurant, right on the Rhine. Children's playground right outside. The Rhine meadows are next door. There are a few parking spaces, but the parking garage is right next door anyway. Great food, especially breakfast. The French toast is probably the best thing you can buy for €10 in Bonn. There's a lot of Telekom management here at lunch. That's not great. But they have to be allowed to eat somewhere.

A wonderful place on the Rhine – Rohlmühle Bonn The Rohlmühle in Bonn is a true highlight, located right on the Rhine. As soon as you arrive, you'll feel the pleasant atmosphere and the stylishly designed interior, which immediately invites you to feel at home. Particularly impressive is the large, spacious terrace, just a few meters from the Rhine, offering a stunning view – perfect for relaxing. The service is fantastic: very friendly, warm, and always with a smile. We had breakfast there – apple strudel with ice cream and cream, and coffee – and it was simply heavenly. Fresh, delicious, and lovingly served. A place you absolutely must visit – whether for breakfast, coffee, or simply to enjoy the view over the Rhine. A definite recommendation!

A truly beautiful restaurant in a prestigious location. Unfortunately, the food doesn't do it justice. This fantastic restaurant truly deserves much, much better cuisine. The quality of the steak is abysmal. The price-performance ratio is therefore completely out of the question. I'd recommend the chef take a trip to New York, where the meat isn't all that expensive. But if you compare Skirt with the steak at Rohmühle, it's like a Ferrari versus a Trabant. The chef should be ashamed of himself! The service is okay, and there are indeed differences in service, and you can't tar everyone with the same brush. The best colleague was the one who unfortunately wasn't in charge of our table today. But since she came by the table every five minutes, I mostly ordered from her (she also received the tip). The lady who was in charge of us came by twice in 1.5 hours. To slam the drinks on the table and a little later, a bread basket. A heartless approach to her job, very sad. Table 74, if that matters. The successor took over at 5 p.m. I quickly described the quality of the meat to him. The answer was unexpected but probably the truth. We're not a fine-dining restaurant. If you order a steak and pay only €35, you can't expect good meat. Phew, I had to let that sink in. We ate and drank for €95 in 1.5 hours, and then you get an answer like that for your money. But you have to look at it this way. You paid €25 for the food, and therefore the corresponding quality, and €70 for the great view. The ratio wouldn't work any other way... Finally, I have to say that the quality at the Rohmühle was really better once. So good, in fact, that I've recommended the restaurant to others. In the future, I'll probably have to go to other restaurants if I'm hungry for good food. Which I find very unfortunate. If I'm looking for a nice atmosphere, I'd be happy to come back, but I'd probably try coffee and cake instead. The guests here seem happier. A good pastry chef is not necessarily a good cook!

We were there for dinner with a total of six people. Three had Wiener Schnitzel and one had the crispy chicken salad. The disappointing thing was that the meat was deep-fried, which was unexpected in this type of restaurant.

The location is beautifully situated on the Rhine. The food is unfortunately sub-par. I ordered one of the daily specials. The fried potatoes were unfortunately completely soaked in oil, soft, and mushy. I then complained about the food and asked them not to be soaked in oil and to be a bit crispier. The second attempt wasn't much better; the fried potatoes were no longer soaked in oil, but they were even mushy, almost raw, and almost uncooked. The staff, although very friendly, are unfortunately very forgetful. We had to repeat almost everything two or more times. Example: We ordered a coffee with regular milk, and the next one came with a small amount of condensed milk. We asked: "We did order regular milk." The answer: "Oh, yes, that's right, it's coming right away" - unfortunately, it never came. I then ran to the bar and got the milk myself. The cleanliness also leaves much to be desired; the floor in the (men's) restroom was sticky, and there are no paper towels left. You can now only dry your hands with an electric hand dryer. That might be OK for a bar, but in a restaurant, it's a no-go for me.

This evening was very important to me, so I reserved a table for a date. We got a table in the aisle. The staff didn't accommodate me, so I asked for a better seat. This was met with a whine and a rude comment. The wrong food was delivered, then taken away, and brought back again five minutes later. What poor and unsympathetic service! We then had to beg and repeatedly point out when we wanted to order something. Even then, we were rejected and made rude comments. We were still ignored. The food that was served was delicious. The tables were dirty and unappealing. I can't recommend it. We won't be coming back.

Everything's good, I'd be happy to come back here. Unfortunately, there are no designated disabled parking spaces, and the available parking spaces near the restaurant are limited. However, the restaurant is step-free, and there's a disabled toilet in the basement, accessible by elevator.

Too bad, we weren't even allowed in because of a costume, and we were also made to feel stupid. I was really hungry and had an appetite. Well, maybe next time, I would have liked to try the food :)

This was our first time at the Rohmühle and we were thrilled by the ambiance; it was my birthday. The starters were delicious, as was the dessert. The main course was passable. The staff at the entrance and elsewhere in the restaurant were friendly, but we weren't happy with our waitress. We were asked several times whether we really wanted to eat so much or whether she shouldn't wait to order the main course until we'd finished the starter, as we might not be hungry afterward and she wouldn't be able to cancel it (we hadn't expected that, since this wasn't our first time at a restaurant). When we'd finished dessert, the waitress cleared us away with the words, "We fit everything in, you're always surprised." We didn't feel comfortable with that. We just wanted to have a nice evening and enjoy my birthday; judgments about whether we ate a lot or a little were completely out of place.

We were there for dinner with eight people. The waitress was fake-friendly, had too many tables to serve, and after I politely asked again, forgot to bring me cutlery because my food was already on the table. Setting priorities instead of having a conversation, I'd say. The food was okay, but for the price, you'd expect better quality.

The food tasted very good, but unfortunately, my Mediterranean vegetables consisted of only a pepper, a mushroom, and a piece of zucchini. The surf and turf only had two small prawns, which I found a bit meager. But everything tasted delicious. The service was excellent.

This was our first time at the Rohmühle. It's a beautifully decorated, modern restaurant. Plenty of space between tables, so it doesn't feel too crowded. Great tables right on the terrace with a view of the Rhine, the Siebengebirge Mountains, and the Post Tower in Bonn. Very friendly, fast, and courteous service. A varied breakfast menu with a wide variety of fresh offerings. The price, quality, taste, and ambiance are simply fantastic. We'll definitely be back.

The food was good. Prices are high, but the service outside was overwhelmed (the appetizer was delivered after the main course, the bread was forgotten and never brought despite being told to leave, and responsibilities were unclear). If you're going to charge prices like that, you should also deliver on the service.

The food gets one point deducted for the price and another because the breakfast is good, but the cold cuts used to be better. As in most other restaurants, the service is overwhelmed, and some of the staff are a little lackluster. The ambiance is nice but a bit noisy. Conditionally recommended for the price range.

Very nicely located on the Rhine. Bread was served to start with without dip by a grumpy server. I asked for olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt, and pepper. I got olive oil and pepper, but balsamic vinegar wasn't available until the main course, even after I asked for it. Unfortunately, my wife's goat cheese salad tasted of nothing, as they barely used any dressing. The breading on my Wiener schnitzel wasn't fluffy at all. It was rather dark brown and hard. Dessert wasn't delivered either. When I asked about it, it was claimed that the order hadn't been placed. The restaurant was busy and the waiters were quite busy. Things can go wrong sometimes. No problem. But if you don't hear a single apology and feel like you're disturbing someone, it's not the place I want to eat. And especially in a rather expensive restaurant, I don't think it's acceptable to have to constantly chase after the waiters and still not get what you ordered. I'm very disappointed with the restaurant, both in terms of the food and the service. I probably caught the restaurant on a bad day.

We waited an hour for our table and then ordered our meals at 8:10 p.m. At 9:45 p.m., despite repeated requests, we still didn't get our food. We were simply forgotten! The table next to us, who had also ordered pasta and arrived after us, was already paying. We hadn't imagined our evening would go quite so well. The waitress blamed it on the fact that we had ordered bread with alioli as a starter. A real disappointment and completely incomprehensible.

I think the Rohmühle is excellent all around. We had great seats on the terrace, excellent service, and the food was also very good. That is, after they refilled the dressing for my wife's salad. Unfortunately, the whole thing isn't exactly cheap. I recommend making a reservation!

We had breakfast there, and the atmosphere was great. It's right on the Rhine, and the prices are commensurate with the location and the surroundings. But it was delicious, the staff were very friendly, and you were served, even though there was no breakfast buffet.

Beautiful view of the Rhine, friendly service, but: the food is terrible. After ordering, bread and oil (both good) arrived, but before we could try any of it, the main course arrived, so 7-10 minutes after ordering. The food was obviously already ready and kept warm in the convection oven, because you can't prepare several main courses that quickly if they're not ready. Unfortunately, it tasted that way too: bland, lackluster, and part of the €32 meal (fish) was inedible. The cucumber salad was definitely pre-packaged, definitely not hand-cut and freshly dressed. It wasn't even OK. So: You can have a good drink there, but for eating out, there are almost only better restaurants. And yet they could do so much better. For the same price, I can eat much tastier food with fresh ingredients in Cologne; they could take a leaf out of their book. If you want to... No stars for the food.

What a shame, actually a very nice location! Saturday evening: First, we waited a long time for the menu, which we then got ourselves. Ordering was quick, and the food (2 x Wiener Schnitzel, €29 per person) arrived after 5-10 minutes, even before the drinks. It was really good quality and tasty. The wine was also very good. Conversation was difficult, however, as it was far too loud. Unfortunately, we also had a very long wait to pay.

While the staff are very attentive, the restaurant is meticulously clean, and the view is wonderful, the food is completely average. It's okay for Bonn, but the current 4.4 stars are certainly due to the mediocre cuisine. Parking is good, and the terrace is peaceful and cozy.

I was there yesterday with a friend, who I wanted to show off the lovely atmosphere of the Rohmühle. I wasn't expecting much more, as the place was packed. The food was also excellent and highly recommended. What impressed me most, though, was the staff – something I haven't experienced in a long time! The service is excellent and the staff is very attentive. The restaurant is beautifully located. The only downside was that the chops were far too tough and dry! So, the meal had to be returned. The newly prepared chops were slightly better, but still not a real hit. A shame...for the money.

Wir waren gestern wieder mal in der Rohmühle und freuten uns auf einen netten Samstagnachmittag. Mein Mann ist schwerbehindert und muss einen relativ weiten Weg zu Fuss bewältigen können. Nun die große Enttäuschung am Eingang! Wörtlich: Bitteschön, Bitteschön, sie hätte auch schreien können: Was wollen sie hier, unfreundlicher geht garnicht. Bisher konnten wir bei unseren Besuchen einen Tisch meist selbst aussuchen, geht aber inzwischen nicht mehr. Auf die Frage an die Bedienung: seit wann hat sich dies geändert, war ihre Antwort: Wir machen fein! Nur eine Warteschlange! Ja, wir hatten uns sportlich gekleidet, dies ist wohl auch nicht mehr mit dem Konzept "Fein" vereinbar! Die Kellnerin mit dem auffälligen Augen Make up hatte auch an unserer kleinen Bestellung kein Interesse, dies hat sie uns mehrfach spüren lassen, brauchen wir nicht mehr: Wir machen Fein!!! Karin

Die Küche der Rohmühle ist leider bei Weitem nicht mehr das, was sie einmal war. Ich hatte Penne salmone. Die "Sauce" war ein zäher Fettkleister um die Nudeln herum. Mein Mann hatte eine sehr merkwürdige Kombination von Burrata, Steinpilz-Ravioli und Tomatensauce. Passt doch alles drei gar nicht zusammen. Bei der Bedienung hatte man den Eindruck, dass Gäste eher als störend empfunden wurden. Wir werden vorerst nicht mehr dort essen.

Unfortunately, the Rohmühle's kitchen is nowhere near what it once was. I had penne salmone. The "sauce" was a sticky, greasy paste around the pasta. My husband had a very strange combination of burrata, porcini mushroom ravioli, and tomato sauce. The three didn't go together at all. The service gave the impression that guests were seen as a nuisance. We won't be eating there again for the time being.

We've been here a few times for breakfast/brunch now and they never disappoint! Great food and service. Will definitely be back 🙂

Yes, definitely. It's beautifully situated on the Rhine with a large terrace. The interior has a very pleasant ambiance. It's great how they've combined old with new. We chose the appetizer platter for two people, and it was very good. It's best to park in the parking garage.

The day before yesterday, six of us were at the Rohmühle and had reserved a table in advance. I highly recommend doing this, as I don't think you'd have a chance otherwise. War eigentlich bisher immer super, wenn wir da waren, das war bisher allerdings immer werktags. Beim letzten Mal war es an einem Feiertag und leider wirklich enttäuschend. Erst kam die Kellnerin direkt als wir gerade alle am Tisch saßen, noch nicht mal in die Speisekarte gesehen hatten und wollte sofort unser Essen und Getränke aufnehmen. Dann reagierte sie leider recht genervt, als wir noch nichts bestellen wollten. Kam kurz darauf wieder, um Getränke aufzunehmen. Das klappte grundsätzlich ganz gut, abgesehen davon, dass wir Cola anstelle von Cola Zero bekamen. Da fragte sie schon nach Cola und als als Antwort kam, dass wir Cola Zero wollten, guckte sie kurz irritiert, sagte aber nicht, dass es Cola anstelle von Cola Zero war. Die Getränke stellte sie uns in Hektik auf den Tisch und schenkte auch keine Flaschen Getränke in Gläser ein. Wir wollten zeitgleich Essen bestellen, aber sie war direkt weg, nachdem sie uns die Getränke brachte. Selbst nach einer Stunde und mehrfachen drauf aufmerksam machen, dass wir bestellen wollten - wo sie uns auch mit Sicherheit fünfmal zunickte und verdeutlichte es gesehen zu haben, kam sie nicht um unser Essen aufzunehmen. Das Essen wurde zwar irgendwann aufgenommen und auch die Cola gegen Cola Zero getauscht, aber auch das war leider nicht zufriedenstellend. Die gewünschte Vorspeise wurde vergessen - hatte sie wohl vergessen aufzunehmen, stand auch nicht auf der Rechnung. Die mit Pilze gefüllten Nudeln waren hart und trocken, wohl nicht lange genug gekocht. In den Nudeln mit Hähnchen befanden sich neben den Nudeln auch Pommes und beim Salat fehlte das Dressing. Wir hätten auch gerne noch ein weiteres Mal Getränke bestellt, als sie mit dem Essen kam, aber auch da nahm sie einfach nur die leere Wasserflasche kommentarlos mit und fragte nicht mal, ob wir eine weitere Flasche oder ob jemand noch ein anderes Getränk möchte. Haben wir bisher immer anderes erlebt und war davor wirklich immer alles super und reibungslos, aber dieses Mal war es ehrlich sehr enttäuschend. Vor allem für den Preis! Lag zwar möglicherweise am Feiertag, aber es war nicht so viel los, dass alle Tische belegt waren und wir konnten beobachten, dass sie regelmäßig an den anderen Tischen war und diese mehrfach aufsuchte. Es war wirklich als hätte sie unseren Tisch durchgängig vergessen / übersehen.

Pari was our highlight of the evening

Great location on the Rhine. Good service. The food is top-notch; the appetizer platter for two is highly recommended. We'd definitely go back. Reservations recommended, especially in summer.

Large restaurant with a terrace overlooking the Rhine. Beautiful view. Simple dishes with a Mediterranean touch. Portions are modest, with three courses serving a meal. Despite the size and busy schedule, prompt and friendly service

A wonderful evening with outstanding food, service, and ambiance. Our waitress, Lilly, was always attentive and friendly and, despite the busy restaurant, was patient while taking our orders. Respect! Her friendly manner made our stay wonderful. With its beautiful location on the Rhine, generous portions, and the weather, the Rohmühle was the right choice for us! We highly recommend it.

Wild herb salad, visually very good. Wild herbs? Not recognizable. Salad not fresh, but very shriveled. Too expensive for that. A shame. I agree. Unfortunately, they don't serve particularly tasty cakes. And I find the coffee cups a rip-off. Still, I like going there, just not for the coffee.

We were there today with a large group of colleagues, and the service was outstanding – especially thanks to our wonderful server, Kira. She was very attentive to our needs, gave valuable ordering advice, fulfilled every request, and was also able to help us in English. The food was also excellent. A lovely evening in a beautiful atmosphere!
