Rocca Riviera in München

Hatten ein Event, wollten nach der Arbeit noch kurz was futtern. Haben uns dann gegen Vorspeisen aber für das Chateaubriand in der 500g Variante entschieden. 2 Cocktails zum Aperitif, hier bitte in Zukunft beim Margerita die Gläser vorkühlen und schauen dass die Zutaten kalt sind. Geschmacklich allerdings echt okay. Hauptgang hat leider etwas länger gedauert als gedacht, geschmacklich jedoch top und auch die Fleischqualität war super. Die Bernaise war leider nur noch lau warm, das hat dann zusammen mit dem Medium Rare Fleisch das ganze Gericht sehr stark abgekühlt. Die Pommes und vor allem auch die Trüffel Mayo waren grandios! Hier gabs mehr als nur einfach Trüffelöl in Mayo, hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Das Personal war definitiv sehr bemüht, sehr zuvorkommend und auch hauptverantwortlich für die "Fine Dining" Experience. Solide 4 von 5 für ein gutes und leckeres Essen mit fairen Preisen. Lediglich der "Wow Effekt" hat etwas gefehlt, aber das kann man verkraften.

I can completely share the experiences of others here. Great location, sexy food, creative cocktails, good music. Everything is wonderfully prepared and of top quality. But the service was really messed up. I wanted to have one or two more drinks and my companion actually wanted a dessert. But the totally annoyed and snappy waiter ruined our stay here. I don't know why you have to act like that, it's really a shame...

Very good and lovely. Perfect for team events / dinners. They are famous for their pizza (Flammkuchen) which was pretty good. Shrimps were also nice. For appetizers, i really disliked the Burrata and the Lib el Kousa.. Steak "cafe de Paris" was perfect ! Fries were nice but should have had a Sauce with them.. Tried few cocktails, Fomo was disgusting (in line with Negroni..) while Mystix was amazing and had kalamats olives next to it. Regarding dessert, cheesecake wasnt really thst nice. But Tiramisu was amazing. Good Espresso and wine as well.

We were at Rocca Riviera for the first time yesterday. The food was great, so kudos to the kitchen! Unfortunately we were treated very strangely when it came to service. When we asked for the bill it took a long time. Then when the time came, the waiter ignored us and didn't say a word to us, just put the bill down and then we paid. In retrospect, I regret tipping because we didn't even get a thank you or a goodbye. Even though the waiter may have been stressed, ignoring the guests and being so rude does not justify the behavior. It's a shame, especially since it's a higher-priced restaurant. I was shown much more respect and attention in “no name” restaurants.

Bull’s eye for Italian food. We had many times in different Italian restaurants in Munich but this one is elegant. We have been there on a Monday night and it was full of nicely dressed people. It’s not a must but I recommend to wear nice clothes. The food was amazing. Their famous pizza which is listed as flammkuche and the pasta dishes were delicious. We had three different types of pasta and all were 10/10. We went there in the last day of September and sat inside however the court should be amazing during spring/summer nights too..

I've been here several times and I have to say. It's 9.9/10! Everything perfect, nice staff, nice restaurant. Very fair price for a Michelin star.

Been here with my wife on vacation 3 weeks ago. Had a great dinner so now brought my colleagues on a business trip to enjoy as well. Starters are especially delicious (all that was ordered). Great atmosphere and service.

Very bad service with very bad food! The service is like in a tavern and the hostess tends to forget to take a shower! The pasta is cooked softly and the drink is poorly mixed! Not recommended!!!

Super Location! Der Service leider mäßig, unaufmerksam, der gesamte Service war mit Handy oder Privatgesprächen beschäftigt. Das Essen war sehr teuer, für das, was auf dem Teller lag. Steak Medium bestellt, Medium Rare bekommen, musste nachgegrillt werden und war dann nur noch Fett danach. Spaghetti mit Hummer konnte nicht wirklich gegessen werden, da der Hummer nicht ausgelöst war und auch sonst nicht gegessen werden konnte. Die Cocktails waren lecker, aber dahin gehen wir nicht mehr, denn der Gesamteindruck war enttäuschend! Mehr Schein als Sein!

Very nice place, good food, excellent service but expensive

There were two of us on August 3rd. Reserved for dinner at Rocca Riviera at 6:45 p.m. Reception placement etc everything ok. After we chose our dishes (starter and main course), we were unfortunately informed that the “Loup” was out. Perhaps this could have been mentioned when the cards were handed out. The starters were taken in for now, we still needed time to decide on the main course. The starters were served before we had finished choosing the main courses. After eating, we sat in front of our empty plates and drinks (aperitif), which took a while. It's been so long now that we were considering paying. When the waitress came, we could now order our main course (Chateuabriand). We also chose a bottle of red wine. When the waitress informed us that the main course lasted about 40 minutes. So far OK! Halfway through the time the main course arrived. Except that the meat was cooked at too high a temperature and only the core was only medium rare (the edge was completely gray) so far ok. Given the price and type of catering, you would wish it were different. Side dishes, sauce, etc. were good. Unfortunately, we often had to take your wine from the service station ourselves and refill it. Afterwards we had to wait a long time until it was cleared away. Afterwards we lingered for a while with 2-3 drinks (which were very good) until we wanted to pay. The service employee neither cleared the glasses nor asked if we wanted anything else. She ran up and down the aisle several times to set the empty tables and chat with colleagues. There were also empty glasses and guests at our surrounding tables who were looking for the waitress. It was around 10:30 p.m. After a while I got up and went to the waitress and asked for the bill. After we mentioned the amount with a small tip due to the poor service, the employee asked again with a startled “please” and slammed the card machine on the table. After payment there was no “thank you” or “have a nice evening” or anything like that. The table was left without comment. There was also no sound at the exit, where people met when leaving. Unfortunately, we are very disappointed with the performance and did not leave the restaurant with a good feeling, which was not due to the food. The quality of service was comparable to that of a medium-sized pub.

Es war mein zweiter Besuch, weil ich davor auch sehr zufrieden war. Die Auswahl an Gerichten ist wie immer sehr ansprechend und auch das Essen selber war wie zuvor einfach köstlich! Leider war die Servicemitarbeiterin nicht sehr aufmerksam, obwohl sie gefühlt 100 mal an den Nebentisch bedient hat, wurden wir immer wieder übersehen. Waren kurz davor zu bezahlen und zu gehen, aber in dem Moment kam sie dann doch. Trotzdem wurde es nicht besser und hat den ganzen Abend einen Dämpfer gegeben. Für das Essen und Ambiente würde ich jederzeit zurückkommen und würde mir wünschen, dass das Personal in der Hinsicht nochmal geschult wird.

Table reservations were kindly accepted over the phone - and a few hours later we arrived at the restaurant - the large outdoor terrace was a great asset in the summer. The interior design is from the 2010s, but quite tasteful. The audience between 45 and 65 is significantly older than expected - but no problem. Reception and service without smiles, friendliness or jokes - extremely bored looking bartenders behind the counter. The menu is more like "Standard International" and is ok, but not a revelation - the price is rather self-confident, even for Munich. Ceviche (27 euros) were served with fish bones - when pointed out, the service acknowledged this with a shrug of the shoulders. The naked Angus rib-eye 250g (43 euros) was average - the 1/2 lobster (37 euros) was a tad too dry... the side dishes were good. The appealing wine list is calculated at 200-300% - so it's still possible. It can happen that the fire alarm sounded relatively loudly after the starter - the fact that the siren interrupted any conversation even after 30 minutes was extraordinary and more than "disruptive" for our dinner. The service offered no explanation or apology - they apparently already knew that. When asked about this indisposition, I was annoyed and told that the responsibility lay with the landlord... and there was nothing they could do. What do I want anyway... Well then - good luck, but without us!

Excellent food, great drinks, fast and attentive service. Outdoor area with probably the best location in Munich: quiet and dignified on Wittelsbacher Platz. Audience chic and elegant, a few business wannabes in need of communication 😄

I was not impressed ! Long waiting times. After 1 hour not even the starters came. Ceviche was not good prepared, steak was very good but the fries…. Did u get it at mc donalds? I mean, come on. Felt like people who „shows“ money get the faster service. For this category of restaurant?!? Sorry. I was really disappointed i need to say.

Unfortunately, we were turned away in a very unfriendly manner. We wanted to have an aperitif on the terrace and were refused because we didn't want to eat anything for dinner shortly before 10 p.m.

Nice ambience and good food. But if you go out to eat for just under €400 and then later have three "bread, salt, oil" (super small amount, by the way) for €6 on the bill for 3 people, you have to be a bit surprised.

Food is good. However in my opinion not justifing high price. I had far better food in Munich for a less. 26 EUR for Rigatoni w/ Tomato Sauce?! Location is TOP! Having Business Lunch on a sunny day just at Wittelsbacher Platz cannot be better. Definitely "instagramable". Service dissapointed me. Grumpy waiter, not a single smile during our stay, passed by several times ignoring us. Gave us really the feeling we are not welcome. I go to many business lunches with executives of the big company next to your restaurant. However, now 'm not sure if I plan the next lunch in Rocca Rivera, though. The food is good (not excellent), but the overall experience does not justify the price point. A friendly and smiling waiter doesn't cost you one euro extra - but makes your clients come back. That's pure attitude. Please improve and get the basics right.

The three of us had the 1kg Chateaubriand, it was very tasty, absolutely enough for the 3 people and the service was unobtrusive but always present. We'd love to come back.

Sehr Inkompetentes Personal!! Haben es geschafft uns eine 10 € Wasserflasche anzudrehen. Uns wurde, ohne dass wir selbst bestellen, ein Teller Olivenöl mit einem kleinen Korb Brot drin gebracht, für den wir später zahlen mussten, OBWOHL wir das selbst NICHT bestellt hatten!!!!! Hätte besser sein können

It’s difficult to pack but easy to reach by U-Bahn. The main door is at the side and I missed it at the beginning. The environment is elegant and fancy, the starter is excellent, the steak is very yummy. I like the cocktail, it tastes very good.

Upscale restaurant with really excellent starters - tuna sashimi and tarte flambée with truffles are a dream - everything was very good even with the main dishes - only small drawbacks with the tiramisu and the cheesecake - there are better ones...both were very sweet

The place itself is quite fancy. The food is extraordinary, so no complaints there. The cheesecake may as well just be legendary. The problem I had was that the tables are too small, and you often can't put all the food items/plates on it at once. Also, the crowd can get way too loud, which I find to be frankly unpleasant. In a place as fancy as this, you'd assume the crowd would behave the part, but apparently not.

Unfortunately I have to give Rocca Riviera 1 star. If I had the opportunity to give 0 stars, I would have given 0 stars. Process: My meat came extremely small, my friend got her meat normally, which can also happen. Meat sucks BUT the service boss was extremely, very, very rude!! The waitress understood me and apologized that something went wrong. My meat also came very late and cold. What made me extremely angry was the statement from the service boss when I left, with a smile "and are you satisfied?" I have nothing against Rocca Riviera, the ambience is good, the location is good but the person was very, very rude.

It's lovely to sit outside in the sun at midday. The pasta did not meet expectations given the prices! €26 for a plate of pasta with tomato sauce that came to the table lukewarm was cheeky! No recommendation for food.

Nice place. Unfortunately the service as well as the food did not meet the expectations we had for a Michelin star restaurant! What an indifferent service..we ran out of drinks as well as the bottle of water and no one came to ask if we wanted anything else, the empty drinks as well as the bottle were left on the table until we paid and left. Unfortunately the prawns I ordered were too sweet and the pasta with truffle too salty. I definitely won't be going back and I definitely wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

After complaining we got rude answers such as ‘well you hardly had any wine’ ‘I only charge as much as you drank’ We had ordered 2 bottles of water at the beginning and were not asked again if we wanted any more. The waiter decided how much and when we were getting more water! Having had enough of this abusive behaviour we obviously didn’t leave any tip. Needless to say that we left very disappointed and the evening was ruined. What a bad an arrogant service for such a wanna be restaurant spot. Never again!!

Cooles Ambiente. Schöne Inneneinrichtung. Essen und Getränke waren sehr lecker. Insbesondere der Rocca Bellini. Service von Emiliana war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Der live DJ am Freitag und Samstag spielt gute Musik - jedoch zu laut. Man konnte sich kaum unterhalten. Preise sind eher im oberen Preisniveau und etwas zu hoch fürs Preis-Leistungsverhältnis angesetzt.

The most delicious truffle pizza in Munich Unfortunately, a birthday celebration was included in the reservation, but this was not considered I expected that the tiramisu would have Merry Christmas written on it 🙂

Great atmosphere in the heart of the city. Here you can enjoy real, authentic Italian specialties, which is not the case with many restaurants that offer "Italian sounding" dishes and sometimes can't even write them properly on the menu. I particularly recommend the spaghetti alle vongole, an absolute highlight for me!

Wir hatten u.a. Chateaudriand medium well bestellt und das war in der Praxis mehr als done. Wir bekamen ein neues, aber widerwillig und ohne Entschuldigung und dazu medium rare. Es wurde Brot für 4x2,- abgerechnet, keiner hat es gegessen und einiges mehr. Nein danke

Totally overrated. Completely unprofessional & arrogant staff. Food was okay (the fillet was at least tender and pink inside). How the recommendation comes from the 'Guide Michelin' is questionable.

We had a wonderful evening at the Rocca Riviera restaurant!🤩 The truffle tarte flambée is a MUST. We also really liked the ambience, the interior design and the music. 🎶 And the staff at the table and reception were extremely friendly despite the large number of guests.👌🏽 I recommend making reservations, especially on weekends.

The experience at this restaurant was absolutely disappointing. Despite our reservation and express desire to sit outside, we were seated in a narrow indoor aisle by the rude and arrogant staff while all the outside tables were empty. We felt unwelcome and uncomfortable, so we left the restaurant without eating. An absolute disappointment and definitely not recommended.

Every employee was not only polite and attentive, but also incredibly knowledgeable when it came to recommendations. I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
