Amazing place all around and friendly staff. Very kind and helpful in english too! 10/10 would recommend

We were there yesterday to watch football. The tables were awkwardly positioned, so only 50 percent of the people had a limited view of the screen. The others had none at all. Unfortunately, the food wasn't good either. The cheese spaetzle came with herb sauce, and the roast pork and fried potatoes were also very disappointing. Service was good.

I thought I'd entered a typical German restaurant...but instead, all the staff were of Eastern origin. The Wienerschnitzel was ready immediately, but clearly reheated. Forget it!! They set us up in the garden with wooden tables and benches (the kind you get at country fairs...just to be clear)...in the center of Munich. Oh well, never again.

A great location, which is why I come here regularly. I just love the Biergarten. The service is acceptable, more or less. But the food is atrocious. I recently had a burger that was so bad that I questioned many of my life decisions. The solution: eat before you come here and just enjoy a beer outside. That's always a good decision.

What happened to you? The new cuisine is incomparable. I ordered Appenzeller cheese spaetzle. What I got were spaetzle with herb cream cheese. Where was the cheese? And that for €16. Please decide whether you offer Asian cuisine or Bavarian cuisine. The mix doesn't seem to work, which is a shame. Atzinger was on our itinerary for every visit to Munich. Unfortunately, we'll now look for another restaurant with Bavarian cuisine. Unfortunately, not recommended at all. My old review from a few years ago: Very friendly service and delicious food. The menu can be read via QR code. I think that's great. I'd be happy to come back.

You don't have to spend a lot for the Old Town. It's cheaper just outside, and the atmosphere is great.

A 15-minute wait in the beer garden and no waiter, no way... in this kind of weather. So we and other people left...

Unfortunately, the menu is too Asian and not seasonal for a Bavarian restaurant. The selection was significantly better last year. The service from the young waiter was excellent.

Good, typical Bavarian food at a fair price, friendly service.

I was misled by the positive reviews in my anticipation, only to be completely disappointed. The "Grandma's Roast" lacked the warmth of Grandma's and was, benevolently, served lukewarm. The dishes range from superficially "Bavarian" to Asian fusion cuisine. It seems to me that this identity confusion isn't doing the place any good. The restrooms were at least well-stocked with amusing filth, which prompted brief but sustained bursts of laughter.

Unfortunately, the quality of the food is continually declining and the prices are rising. I always enjoyed Atzinger, but I won't be coming back in the future, at least not for dinner.

The roasted pork is pretty good BUT the roasted beef and rice so salty thatI can drink the entire Atlantic Ocean.

Good Asian food (bowls), nice ambience, but very loud

For lunch, I tried the pork schnitzel for €10. The schnitzel was perfectly fine, but the potato salad wasn't homemade. The menu is a strange Asian (curry, bowls) - pseudo-Bavarian (schnitzel, roast pork) crossover. The food came extremely quickly (less than 5 minutes). You get the feeling that no one cooks their own food anymore. So, it's fine for a quick bite, but for a more indulgent meal, there are certainly better options nearby. Service is quite good, but card payments only start at €15.

Good food and calm environment. We went on a Saturday afternoon. It was not crowded and the food was great.

A traditional restaurant in Maxvorstadt. I've always enjoyed going here. Very reasonable prices and friendly staff. The food isn't top-class, but it's really decent in terms of quality and quantity.

I definitely recommend it. Excellent food and service. We chose traditional Bavarian food, but there are other options. At lunchtime on Saturdays, after 4 p.m., the beer garden is open and offers a wide variety of options. Löwenbräus beer is served. We felt like locals. Highly recommended.

The professionals from the old Simpl staff seem to have started looking for a new place to work. I think I know why.

Wir waren vor einiger Zeit dort zum Abendessen. Wir hatten gut konsumiert.und wurden nach ca. 2 Stunden aufgefordert zu gehen weil die Tische Abends mehrmals reserviert werden. Eine asiatisch aussehende Frau hat uns parallel zur Bedinung unmissverständlich aufgefordert zu gehen. Eine derartige Unverschämtheit hatten wir noch nie erlebt. Fazit nie mehr wieder !!!

Another UPDATE: Eating is difficult these days. I had a red chicken curry today – it was among the lowest 5 ever, and I eat this dish weekly. Ready-made convenience vegetables that have no place in a red curry (there was no sign of what should be in it) in a nearly pure coconut milk soup (more like a tom kha, but then it lacked all the spices) – that was a 1.5 out of 10. All the service was Asian – you wouldn't eat that at home. Schnitzel was okay, but not anymore. No longer recommended. The seating was still nice, though. UPDATE: The old Atzinger, which this review referred to, has closed. Now open again. Significantly smaller menu. The schnitzel looked absolutely top-notch. My chicken salad, on the other hand, didn't really convince me. I hope it's just an exception. The location and atmosphere are unchanged. After years of frequently testing numerous pubs and restaurants in the immediate vicinity, I have to say: Atzinger is the best package. Good selection, everything tastes good to very good. Beer is always a matter of debate, which is why you might prefer the Türkenhof, which is also very good. That's a matter of taste. But one thing is clear: at Atzinger, you can't go wrong, whether outside in summer, in bad weather, or inside in the colder months, no matter the company. The restroom could be a bit nicer. But that's all. PS to the vegan below, who gave it one star because the chef doesn't cook a special vegan sausage during prime time and the waitress didn't feel like getting into arguments about their opinions beforehand – there are numerous vegan restaurants in the area. Charlie's Vegan is a maximum of a three-minute walk away. If you want something more refined, The Gratitude (also great) is two minutes away. Just go there and don't constantly try to subjugate the whole world to your individual preferences. 🫣😉

Nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the food doesn't taste that good.

Our visit to the Atzinger Wirtshaus was generally good. The service was great; we were a very large group, and yet all drinks were always ordered quickly and served promptly. The back courtyard is actually nice, and even on hot summer days, the parasols offer protection from the sun. The only complaint I have is the food: I had the cheeseburger, and on a scale of 1-10, it was a 3 at best. The bun was particularly bad, extremely dry, and truly the worst of the worst. The burger was otherwise okay, but the bun unfortunately overshadowed everything. The fries were good, and they also served mayo and ketchup right at your table. The Löwenbräu beer was also great, of course. We'd be happy to come back, as the service makes a big difference, but next time I'll have to try something different to eat.

Lunch Menu is nice. Everything 10 Euros. The chicken bowl is awesome.

Not very Bavarian, more for tourists. The waiters are all Asian and never ask if everything is okay at the table. We had to wait a while to order, but the food came quickly. Drinks weren't good, not enough fizz. The Colaweizen beer with syrup, not recommended. The food (chicken schnitzel and roast pork) was delicious, though! Overall, it was okay, but I wouldn't go back.

The food is very bad, the service is very rude, they yelled at us because we asked why they made us bring the bill without asking, it was a really bad experience.

It's so sad. My favorite pub, with waiters in traditional costumes and the cheerful Bavarian hospitality, is gone. 😞. The service is unfriendly. The food is still good, but the atmosphere is so different—hectic. I will miss the atmosphere in this incredibly cozy beer garden and the jokes of the young and very friendly waiters so much. Four times a year, my favorite pub for 10 years, now we'll probably have to find another place.

It's a good option for a short break from the hustle and bustle of the city. There's also a beer garden. Certainly a small luxury in this location. But it's not the kind of inn you'd imagine in folklore. Craftsmanship looks different. 😂

If you're looking for a good place to try authentic German food in Munich, Atzinger is the place for you. It's located in the central area of ​​Munich and is a very spacious establishment. The terrace, with large tables, is very pleasant on sunny days.

I had cheese spaetzle here. The dish was rather disappointing in both style and quantity. It was quite expensive by comparison.

The food was never exceptional, but the Atzinger was always definitely good enough, there was something for everyone and the price was okay. Munich tavern in the lower midfield. Absolutely fine. The restaurant is now really no longer worth visiting. Unfortunately, since the tenant changed, the food has become inedible. The strange menu with no identity and the terribly "modern" interior (too bright, too echoey) really don't help. What do you want to be now? Cool gastro pub, old-fashioned tavern, Asian restaurant, snack bar? Pick one and do it properly. For 17, I don't mind a frozen schnitzel and store-bought potato salad. This is often normal now. But these products also come in different quality. The breading of the schnitzel was completely flat (typical deep fryer), the meat was tasteless and had no texture, the potato salad only consisted of potatoes and sugar (no vinegar, no onions, no beef broth, etc). Cheese spaetzle also had only a limited connection to the original. Tasteless, too creamy, and tastes more like glutamate than anything else. The fried onions were good. At least it doesn't make a particularly good impression if the food is on the table after just 5 minutes. Fresh spaetzle takes longer, as does a decent schnitzel. If, contrary to my assessment, some of it was actually homemade, then that's all the sadder for the kitchen, because it's simply meant to be different. Luckily there are other pubs in the area. Only the service at the table was okay.

Just don’t order “juice”. It costs €5 but it's definitely not juice because it's way too sweet. I then got tap water for €5. Otherwise the service was nice… so drinking beer is definitely okay.

Solid restaurant - it was quite tolerable in the back yard, unfortunately only beer benches and no real tables. We had the schnitzel, which was decent.

Billigt snabbt med dålig personal. Maten va ok, schnitzel var torr potatissalladen va riktigt dålig. Maten kom snabbt men besticken kom 5 minuter efteråt.

We were there for dinner with a large group. It's incredibly loud, the waitresses are trying hard, but they have no idea whether a curry could be vegan. The chef thought I was there myself, that it wasn't vegan because it had coconut milk in it... 🙄😂 the knuckle was inedible, it had the consistency of a briquette, and couldn't be handled with cutlery or your teeth... never again!

I had visitors from Berlin and wanted to show my friends my usual favorite shop in maxvorstadt. My friends had their onion roast and dumplings in mushroom cream sauce. Except for the size of the roast pork roast, everything was top notch and very tasty. I usually always eat my spaetzle here, which used to be homemade (as you can see from the pictures) and were always very good. Unfortunately, this time I got ready-made spaetzle, i.e. the dry ones I bought ready-made. Our service was outstanding and we were very enthusiastic about the support and speed from Pham. Please bring back the spaetzle from before :/

You can only pay with card from 15€. What is illegal in Germany. But oh well. You have to go in to get a drink. Simply sitting outside is not enough.

Waiters have no space inside to distribute dishes - first time I seen thats joke situation! No space beetween tables to exit - not comfortable zone for quests, I think. Dishes ok, traditional, what is a big plus!

Fair lunch for €10 per dish Centrally located, the Atzinger Wirtshaus offers various lunch dishes for a flat rate of €10. The portion sizes are really fair for the money. The pork schnitzel was crispy and tasted quite good with the potato salad. The fries with the chicken schnitzel were on point, but unfortunately the schnitzel was only lukewarm. What was surprising was the extremely short time between ordering food and bringing it to the table. Either the dishes were already ready and kept warm or they are the fastest cooks in Munich... The service was non-binding. For a quick and proper lunch you can't go wrong at Atzinger.

Nettes wirtschaftliches Lokal und auch nette Bedienung. Essen war recht gut, uns hat alles geschmeckt was wir bestellt hatten. Karte ist nicht riesig aber abwechslungsreich. Neben Weisswürsten und Schweinshaxen gibt es nämlich auch ein paar asiatische Gerichte, die ebenfalls gut schmecken :)

Unfortunately, the quality of the food is no longer as good as it was before the change of tenant. There were two of us. There were mushy leaves in the chicken salad and the cheese sparrows were only lukewarm. Unfortunately, the Löwenbräubier is not an experience either. There was also a strange smell next to the ventilation. It's a shame, it used to be my favorite place. At least the service staff was friendly.

We are traveling through and eat a lot on the go. Unfortunately, the steak that is supposed to be of top quality is quite the opposite. The first steak was almost raw and so were the fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the salad was already soggy as if it had been dressed in dressing in the morning. The burger patty was fried to death, the fries were not edible and they were all lukewarm. It's a shame but unfortunately not worth the money. We were wondering why the food was there after 10 minutes when the shop was full

Nichts besonderes, netter Service und das Essen ist eßbar. Wickeltisch ist vorhanden, jedoch muss danach gefragt werden. Wer sich in Ruhe unterhalten will, sollte einen der hinteren Tische nehmen. Im gesamten 3 von 5 Sternen.

We haven't been to Atzinger for a while - we had a cheeseburger and a roast pork, both of which were very good. Our waiter Simon served us very friendly and attentively, we would be happy to come back. The shop can get a bit noisy in the evenings, but that's par for the course in Munich.

Wonderful traditional restaurant in Maxvorstadt. With the new Vietnamese tenants, the food has become much better, the service is super friendly - great! One negative point - unfortunately there is a strong smell of toilet stone in the back of the restaurant from time to time - this "lemon scent" is unfortunately not a pleasant room scent... Please find the cause and fix it...

Unfortunately I can only confirm the previous reviews! The Atzimger used to be an institution in Munich and Schwabing, unfortunately the quality of the food has now fallen massively due to a new tenant. Some of the food tastes very bland, like it's made from a ready-made mix, and unfortunately I personally don't find a combination of Asian restaurant with Bavarian food that great. Schnitzel was okay, bread dumplings really didn't taste good! Very unfortunate!!!

The Atzinger is an institution - or it was. The ambience of the restaurant still corresponds to that of a rustic Bavarian inn - except that since the change of tenant, in addition to roast pork, schnitzel and cheese spaetzle, the menu now also includes sushi, Thai curry and spring rolls. The best of several worlds? Unfortunately not. The schnitzel was from the deep fryer and without salt and pepper, the "chicken" curry ("slightly spicy") with 2 small pieces of meat and was very mild. Unfortunately, it doesn't suit the atmosphere at all - and it's more of a quick turnaround, although the staff seemed to be overwhelmed with a total of perhaps 15 guests and only came with the bill after several requests. Hopefully the next tenant will take advantage of Atzinger's reputation and focus on Bavarian cuisine.

The menu offers an interesting mix of some traditional Bavarian dishes with asian twists. I went with the traditional wiener schnitzel with a weinschorle, and paid 30€ in total. This was perhaps the most expensive individual dish they offered and the price for the meal felt appropriate.

Attention: CHANGE OF TENANT! I know Atzinger as a nice Bavarian restaurant. Now it has an Asian flair (Thai curry, spring rolls, etc). The quality has deteriorated VERY much. Although the service was okay, the food was really not good and very expensive! We're not coming anymore!

Had dinner there with a friend from Naples. Currywurst and Kasspatzen. Currywurst very good, Kasspatzen quite good. Upscale for a Bavarian inn. Traditionally furnished and plenty of space for large groups.

As expected from a restaurant in a student town, the food is plentiful, inexpensive, and good value for money. I think it's even more so since I'm from Switzerland. Since I don't understand German at all, I showed them the Google photo and ordered. The clerks are also very active, talk to me often, and have a good atmosphere. It's better than the famous restaurants in the old town, so definitely try it!

I have been a guest at Atzinger since my student days - always very satisfied and in good hands. Today I unfortunately discovered that a Bavarian essential had been removed from the menu: there is no Bavarian. sausage salad more! downfall of Bavaria occidental! please, Corrects this contemporary mistake and restores the culinary original state. honestly now. Wir kamen auf Empfehlung ins Atzinger. Uhriges Wirtshaus mit vielen Studenten und jungen Leuten, freundliche Bedienung. Bayerisches Essen, aber auch Burger und Kaiserschmarrn sind auf der Karte zu finden. Alles sehr lecker, wir waren zufrieden. Lediglich die Damentoilette war nicht sauber, in einer Kabine stand sogar das Wasser.

Cozy Munich restaurant with a varied menu and good food. Fair prices and dedicated service. When the weather is good, there is a beer garden under the trees in the courtyard. When the pub is quite full, for example on Fridays, I find the noise level inside very unpleasant. The music seems to attack against it. Therefore deduction for the ambience.

Here for a business trip. Wonderful experience courtesy of our waitress Chi Chi. She provided the utmost hospitality and made our already good dinner that much greater. Would come back again!
