Atzinger in München

Waiters have no space inside to distribute dishes - first time I seen thats joke situation! No space beetween tables to exit - not comfortable zone for quests, I think. Dishes ok, traditional, what is a big plus!

Fair lunch for €10 per dish Centrally located, the Atzinger Wirtshaus offers various lunch dishes for a flat rate of €10. The portion sizes are really fair for the money. The pork schnitzel was crispy and tasted quite good with the potato salad. The fries with the chicken schnitzel were on point, but unfortunately the schnitzel was only lukewarm. What was surprising was the extremely short time between ordering food and bringing it to the table. Either the dishes were already ready and kept warm or they are the fastest cooks in Munich... The service was non-binding. For a quick and proper lunch you can't go wrong at Atzinger.

Nettes wirtschaftliches Lokal und auch nette Bedienung. Essen war recht gut, uns hat alles geschmeckt was wir bestellt hatten. Karte ist nicht riesig aber abwechslungsreich. Neben Weisswürsten und Schweinshaxen gibt es nämlich auch ein paar asiatische Gerichte, die ebenfalls gut schmecken :)

Unfortunately, the quality of the food is no longer as good as it was before the change of tenant. There were two of us. There were mushy leaves in the chicken salad and the cheese sparrows were only lukewarm. Unfortunately, the Löwenbräubier is not an experience either. There was also a strange smell next to the ventilation. It's a shame, it used to be my favorite place. At least the service staff was friendly.

Very poor price-performance ratio, extremely loud, service good

We are traveling through and eat a lot on the go. Unfortunately, the steak that is supposed to be of top quality is quite the opposite. The first steak was almost raw and so were the fried potatoes. Unfortunately, the salad was already soggy as if it had been dressed in dressing in the morning. The burger patty was fried to death, the fries were not edible and they were all lukewarm. It's a shame but unfortunately not worth the money. We were wondering why the food was there after 10 minutes when the shop was full

Nichts besonderes, netter Service und das Essen ist eßbar. Wickeltisch ist vorhanden, jedoch muss danach gefragt werden. Wer sich in Ruhe unterhalten will, sollte einen der hinteren Tische nehmen. Im gesamten 3 von 5 Sternen.

We haven't been to Atzinger for a while - we had a cheeseburger and a roast pork, both of which were very good. Our waiter Simon served us very friendly and attentively, we would be happy to come back. The shop can get a bit noisy in the evenings, but that's par for the course in Munich.

Wonderful traditional restaurant in Maxvorstadt. With the new Vietnamese tenants, the food has become much better, the service is super friendly - great! One negative point - unfortunately there is a strong smell of toilet stone in the back of the restaurant from time to time - this "lemon scent" is unfortunately not a pleasant room scent... Please find the cause and fix it...

Unfortunately I can only confirm the previous reviews! The Atzimger used to be an institution in Munich and Schwabing, unfortunately the quality of the food has now fallen massively due to a new tenant. Some of the food tastes very bland, like it's made from a ready-made mix, and unfortunately I personally don't find a combination of Asian restaurant with Bavarian food that great. Schnitzel was okay, bread dumplings really didn't taste good! Very unfortunate!!!

The Atzinger is an institution - or it was. The ambience of the restaurant still corresponds to that of a rustic Bavarian inn - except that since the change of tenant, in addition to roast pork, schnitzel and cheese spaetzle, the menu now also includes sushi, Thai curry and spring rolls. The best of several worlds? Unfortunately not. The schnitzel was from the deep fryer and without salt and pepper, the "chicken" curry ("slightly spicy") with 2 small pieces of meat and was very mild. Unfortunately, it doesn't suit the atmosphere at all - and it's more of a quick turnaround, although the staff seemed to be overwhelmed with a total of perhaps 15 guests and only came with the bill after several requests. Hopefully the next tenant will take advantage of Atzinger's reputation and focus on Bavarian cuisine.

The menu offers an interesting mix of some traditional Bavarian dishes with asian twists. I went with the traditional wiener schnitzel with a weinschorle, and paid 30€ in total. This was perhaps the most expensive individual dish they offered and the price for the meal felt appropriate.

Attention: CHANGE OF TENANT! I know Atzinger as a nice Bavarian restaurant. Now it has an Asian flair (Thai curry, spring rolls, etc). The quality has deteriorated VERY much. Although the service was okay, the food was really not good and very expensive! We're not coming anymore!

Had dinner there with a friend from Naples. Currywurst and Kasspatzen. Currywurst very good, Kasspatzen quite good. Upscale for a Bavarian inn. Traditionally furnished and plenty of space for large groups.

As expected from a restaurant in a student town, the food is plentiful, inexpensive, and good value for money. I think it's even more so since I'm from Switzerland. Since I don't understand German at all, I showed them the Google photo and ordered. The clerks are also very active, talk to me often, and have a good atmosphere. It's better than the famous restaurants in the old town, so definitely try it!

I have been a guest at Atzinger since my student days - always very satisfied and in good hands. Today I unfortunately discovered that a Bavarian essential had been removed from the menu: there is no Bavarian. sausage salad more! downfall of Bavaria occidental! please, Corrects this contemporary mistake and restores the culinary original state. honestly now. (and then it's 5 stars for you again.)

Wir kamen auf Empfehlung ins Atzinger. Uhriges Wirtshaus mit vielen Studenten und jungen Leuten, freundliche Bedienung. Bayerisches Essen, aber auch Burger und Kaiserschmarrn sind auf der Karte zu finden. Alles sehr lecker, wir waren zufrieden. Lediglich die Damentoilette war nicht sauber, in einer Kabine stand sogar das Wasser.

Cozy Munich restaurant with a varied menu and good food. Fair prices and dedicated service. When the weather is good, there is a beer garden under the trees in the courtyard. When the pub is quite full, for example on Fridays, I find the noise level inside very unpleasant. The music seems to attack against it. Therefore deduction for the ambience.

Here for a business trip. Wonderful experience courtesy of our waitress Chi Chi. She provided the utmost hospitality and made our already good dinner that much greater. Would come back again!

Very nice, cozy atmosphere and very nice service. Coffee is good too. Unfortunately, the food is not good. I had meatballs (meatballs) with mashed potatoes. The meat had the same quality as McD and co. The mashed potatoes didn't taste good either. The quality with the old tenant was definitely better and I hope it will get better again. But a lot has to happen when purchasing the ingredients. It would be a shame for the beautiful inn.

Due to defective heating/renovation it got a bit cool. Löwenbräu Hell seemed listless. The food arrived after what felt like 2.5 minutes; the price level implied fresh preparation. Not really a recommendation.

We were looking for a good schnitzel after a lovely sunny day in the park on the first day of the year. We found a schnitzel; It just wasn't good... Unfortunately The Atzinger Wirtshaus is an old local on Schellingstrasse that is known for its quaintness. But I have to say that the food really isn't that good. We had the Wiener-style schnitzel and the Käsespätzle. The schnitzel came with potato salad that tasted like my favorite potato salad from Aldi. Maybe that's why it was so tasty. But in my opinion it wasn't fresh. The schnitzel was ok, but unfortunately the cheese spaetzle was only ok at best. The food came quickly. Overall, it was ok for my hungover head looking for schnitzel on New Year's Day... but I wouldn't go there again.

Good portions and good prices, and the restaurant offers lots of space. Came here for a Christmas party, reserved for 3 full tables on the same day. For a restaurant in the heart of „Schwabinger“ bar scene this is not bad. The only annoying thing was the paying process which took over an hour writing everything and calculating using a pen, that needs to be improved. Overall a real recommendation.

The food was great! Sufficient portions and very good taste. The waitress that evening (a lovely lady with glasses) was often at the table and brought our little companion a pot of water straight away. The parking situation is rather modest, being a student town. All in all, a great restaurant that we highly recommend.

The Atzinger has changed since our last visit (2023). First of all: When we visited in November 2024, there was initially an acrid smell of grease in the air; I'm not judging it now and hope it was an exception. The positive thing is that there is an analog menu again and you no longer have to pull out your cell phone to see what's available. But now to the most important thing, the food. You have to be honest: Atzinger was never a culinary stronghold; Nevertheless, you got good food at reasonably reasonable prices. After our last visit, we decided that it would be our last for various reasons: The food came very quickly (everything, including Kaiserschmarrn - which usually takes a long time - within 5 to 10 minutes), but the quality was not convincing. By far the worst was the Kaiserschmarrn. This was doughy and didn't impress anyone in our group (it was the first time in our lives that a Kaiserschmarrn was not completely eaten). At a price of 14-20 euros per dish you would expect decent quality. In our opinion, nothing was done wrong here except for the drinks, apart from the prices. The best was saved for last: When paying (getting the "right" service was a bit of a challenge), after rounding up to a tip that was friendly to the service, a higher tip was suggested to me. I've never experienced anything like that - we were all a bit speechless. (2 stars overall; I give more to the ambience because I still like the location despite everything; I also give more to the service because - despite the weird ending - everything was fine up until then.)

I am aware that you place the guests so that you get the maximum sales every evening. But on an evening when it's 5 degrees, wanting to sit next to the front door at the cat table with my 10-year-old son is really cheeky given how busy the business is. Once and never again...

Unfortunately, the food didn't seem really fresh and homemade, it seemed more like it had been frozen and warmed up. But it was very, very expensive and you expect something homemade. Too bad.

A horrible tourist trap with extremely rude waiters that directly ask for tips and behave super aggressive if you don't leave it. Moreover, those waiters behaving like this barely speak or understand german. I had to find someone that understands german in the restaurant to ask again for food. English is also not understood. The food, at least the Kässespätzle tastes like convinience food and has literally nothing to do with the food served in this area. Try to avoid this place, the reviews are mostly from the old times when the restaurant was still a german restaurant but meanwhile something dramatically changed.

Quite nice, but the Kaiserschmarrn doesn't work at all. There used to be yeast dumplings, apricot dumplings and other delicacies here. Since the change of ownership it no longer tastes good and the card is 0815.

I made a good choice with my salad and was completely satisfied with it. However, the service was very messed up and somehow still in the learning process. We asked for the bill, but the waiter waited until his colleague might come by again and didn't leave his seat to let him know. A second attempt was necessary. We were pressed for time, also because the courts went back because of an error that couldn't be easily corrected and didn't come back for ages. The guests' time is treated very casually. Like in a Boy Scout camp, where it doesn't really matter when who gets what (even though it wasn't even full). There's still room for improvement, but I think it's a learning process.

Top! Food and drinks highly recommended in terms of selection and quality. Very friendly and courteous service, price \ performance absolutely ok, ambience simple but clean and stylish, typical Munich restaurant, a little away from the inner-city tourism - hustle and bustle where you can also meet locals, location easy to reach by bus and train. Completely overwhelmed, each beer brought out individually (what are these round things called again... tray?), friendly is also different. So you can watch football, but you don't have to.

I came to Atzinger Wiertshaus because I saw “Agon Kocht” through Instagram and Tiktok. I wanted to find out whether what he presented in his cooking videos tasted good. My visit was totally worth it. Cheeseburger is super tasty and totally filling. Fries very tasty. Crispy and not soggy. Thai curry was very tasty and pleasantly spicy. Perfectly prepared. I can only recommend it! In general a nice place, but the food is surprisingly bad for the price. The Mushrooms with Semmelknödel are a pretty small serving (for 16€!) and the Burgers simply do not taste so good. (many of us on the table agreed). Someone told me the Schnitzel is good though (but also small)

UPDATE: The old Atzinger that this review was based on has closed. Now open again. Significantly smaller map. Schnitzel looked absolutely great. However, my salad with chicken didn't really convince me. Hopefully just an exception. Location and atmosphere are unchanged. After years of high-frequency testing of numerous pubs and restaurants in the immediate area, I have to say: Atzinger is the best package. Good selection, everything tastes good to very good. You can always argue over beer and therefore prefer the Türkenhof, which is also very good. That's a matter of taste. But one thing is clear: with Atzinger you won't do anything wrong outside in the summer, in bad weather or indoors in the colder months, regardless of the company. Toilet could be a bit nicer. But that's all. PS to the vegan below who gives 1 star because the chef doesn't cook a special vegan sausage at prime time and the waitress wasn't in the mood for discussions in advance - there are numerous vegan restaurants in the area. Charlie's Vegan is a maximum of 3 minutes' walk away. If you want a finer swing - The Gratitude (also great) is 2 minutes away. Just go there and don't constantly try to subjugate the entire world to your individual preferences. 🫣😉

Great food - the salad with chanterelles was really rich and there were still a lot of chanterelles on it! Highly recommended! The other dishes also looked good and were well received. I also found the service staff to be very friendly and they looked after us very well. Only the toilet could have been a little cleaner.
