RITTER'S Restaurant & Bar in Bad Homburg v.d.Höhe

Unfortunately the food is not suitable for a 5 star hotel. I had previously reserved a table by the fireplace, but when we came to dinner in the evening, all the tables were occupied. I then said that I had made a reservation and we had to wait in the lobby until a table became available - for free...that can happen. The table we were assigned wasn't the one we reserved and wasn't even wiped down briefly. There was no greeting from the kitchen and not even bread (although we had soup and salad as starters). The service was nice but unfortunately totally overwhelmed. The food itself was rather mediocre and not particularly well presented. Unfortunately, the price for the food and drinks here is totally exorbitant. I've already eaten in a number of 5 star hotels this year and always found it a highlight to enjoy a multi-course meal in the evening - but unfortunately not here. There was also no menu and two of the meals we ordered were no longer available, but we were only told this after the starter, otherwise we might have reordered the starter. All in all a big disappointment with a lot of room for improvement. However, the rooms in the hotel were really nice and the staff at the reception were extremely nice and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning was also rather average for the price - at almost 100€ for 3 people, there is more choice in other hotels and no baked rolls and ready-made juice. Conclusion: Overnight stay again at any time, but eating away from home.

I can't give a rating for the food because as a guest you are simply ignored. It's a shame, we were actually very hungry and thirsty. If you make a comment at the bar that you've been sitting there for 20 minutes, a waitress has walked past at least 10 times and it doesn't occur to you to hand us a menu of food or drinks, then you'll get a cheeky statement from the bartender: You should write a review if you don't like it. Thank you dear bartender, here comes the desired review. Smooth 6, bet!

Nutshell summary: way too long waiting time; #endless. Food ok-ish, but overpriced. Nice service teams / waiters. Certainly understaffed. Lag of management. Y’all: if you can - go somewhere else Kurz auf deutsch: am besten wo anders hingehen. Des isch nix

The ambience is classically upscale and attractively furnished. Since I was a hotel guest, I treated myself to a pot of tea and pineapple juice in the afternoon. Unfortunately, according to the waitress, there was nothing for vegans to eat. The menus at the neighboring tables looked very appetizing.

The food is unworthy of a 5 star hotel. A pity! No recommendation from us.

Always excellent service and high quality dishes. Their staff, some of the best I've ever come across.

Sehr schlechter, zu kameradschaftlicher Service. Das Essen war mittelmäßig. Das Personal sehr unaufmerksam

Elegant restaurant within the Steigenberger Hotel. The menu has some fresh local specialities, chanterelles mushrooms in this period. They were very well cooked and good pairing with the tomahawk. Fish, mackerel, was also juicy. Good wines in the list. Service not impeccable, bar tender jumped in some times. And it is a bit too expensive. Overall, a four thanks to the food quality.

We were just a little hungry and decided to have tagliatelle with chanterelles and a poke bowl outside on the terrace. Both are visually very beautiful. Unfortunately the pasta was a bit dry due to the lack of sauce. But taste good. The poke bowl was very tasty. The Pouilly Fume is also delicious. The service was friendly but could have been more present. Training for upselling would be good :-). We also found it very attractive inside.

Gourmet-level food. Whether Linguine al Nero or two types of veal... There is also a nice selection of wines... Very friendly, personal service. Recommendation!

The asparagus was very good! We'd love to come back for that. The Wienerschnitzel was probably fried in the same fat as the fried fish. That was a real shame.

Restaurant einem Steigenberger Hotel nicht würdig. Die Restaurant Räumlichkeiten sind geschlossen, es wird an der Bar als Restaurantersatz serviert. Begrüßungs-Brot wirkt nicht frisch und die Butter scheint aus der Verpackung gedrückt. Kein guter Einstieg. Die Wasserflasche wird, ohne vorheriges Öffnen, einfach am Tisch zur Selbstbedienung abgestellt. Bedienungen kommen wiederholt an unseren Tisch, ohne die leeren Weingläser aufzufüllen. Wir habe es dann halt selbst gemacht. Eine der Vorspeisen war ein Spargelsalat. Der Spargel war geschmacklos, keinerlei Eigenschmack. Dazu wurde eine Paste serviert, die den ganzen Geschmack dominiert hat. Der Burger war lauwarm und mit total versalzenen Pommes frites. Weniger Salz und dafür Salz und Pfeffer am Tisch zum Nachwürzen wäre besser gewesen. Besteck wurde erst besorgt, nachdem das Essen schon am Tisch stand und dadurch kalt wurde. Für ein Steigenberger Hotel war der Service und das Essen nicht angemessen. Der Preis entsprach nicht der gelieferten Qualität.

First: The food was very good. The service, however, was simply inattentive. First we had to make ourselves known after 10 minutes and could order drinks. Drinks were brought, but no questions were asked about food requests. Here too we had to ask again to be able to order. After 45 minutes the food was finally ordered. However, we were still sitting there in front of the leftover dishes from our predecessors. Here, too, we finally asked if we could set up again before the food came. At the end the really good food came and we apologized for the inconvenience.

Sadly, despite the cozy atmosphere of the Hotel, we were disappointed during our last visit to Ritter's bar. The waitresses were extremely slow with service (even though only 3 tables were occupied). Special offer desserts were barely edible and cocktails were mediocre at best.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Frische Zutaten. Hier hat mir seit langem Fleisch Mal wieder geschmeckt. Tolles Ambiente.

Ein geschmacklich hervorragendes Gaumenerlebnis. Dazu das perfekte Ambiente und Gastgeber. Danke komme gerne wieder.

Doch nicht nur das Tatar war sein Geld wert, sondern auch das „Zweierlei vom Kalb“ war exzellent. Das Fleisch war zart und zerging auf der Zunge. Auch die Sauce in Komposition mit Süsskartoffel war lecker. Ungewöhnlich war, dass die Speisen nicht im Restaurant, sondern im Barbereich gereicht wurden. Allerdings machte das die sehr, sehr nette Bedienung das mehr als wett. Einziger Kritikpunkt: 15,50€ für 0,2l Chardonnay empfinde ich auch in einem gehobenen Hause als überteuert.

Meine Frau und ich haben dort zu Abend gegessen. Das Essen war dem Preis leider nicht angemessen. Vorab Weißbrot mit eingepackter Butter(!) Das haben wir noch in keinem Restaurant erlebt. Die Kürbissuppe war eher durchschnittlich, Geschmack und Konsistenz ok, jedoch ohne besondere Note. Das Zanderfilet war gut (für sehr gut ein Tick zu trocken), die Beilagen bestehend aus Cous Cous, Rote Beete und Datteln geschmackvoll, jedoch extrem wenig. Die zwei Sterne in Relation zum Preisniveau. Zum Vergleich, das Restaurant in der Spielbank mit ähnlichem Preisniveau, aber besserer Qualität und Portionsgrößen, von denen man(n)/Frau auch satt wird. Nachtrag, der Service war sehr freundlich.

Ambiente ist toll aber wir haben keinen Gruß aus der Küche bekommen, die Nachbartische aber schon. Portionen waren wie erwartet klein, geschmacklich gut aber nicht spektakulär.

Sehr gutes Frühstücksbüffet mit gutem Preis-/Leistungsverhätnis. Der Service war leider personell unterbesetzt und dadurch teilweise überfordert

Maten serveras med finess och elegans. Man får vänta ganska länge efter beställning, vilket ofta tyder på vällagat och anpassat. Men här känns det lite som storkök och vare sig kvalitet eller finess når den höjd som man får intryck av att restaurangen vill ge.

Sehr coole Location. Der Preis ist zweitrangig.

Nice town and lovely services, we stayed for our board meeting for 2 days and we enjoyed the hotel but the food on the first day was not as expected but on 2nd day was very nice
