It feels like stepping back into the good old 90s. The owner doesn't seem to have changed in the last 30 years. The food is great, but the large dog at the next table was unnecessary. My 92-year-old mother was a bit bothered by it. From what we observed, the very friendly waitress was also somewhat irritated by the dog, as she had to step over it every time she served the next table.

The food was quite good, but the portions were rather small. The service was also good, but seemed a bit irritated at times.

We had lunch on a Saturday and were absolutely thrilled. The homemade pasta tasted truly outstanding. The service was excellent, and special requests were accommodated without any problems. The restaurant is a bit out of the way, but the taste is worth the walk. :-) If we're back in Leipzig and craving authentic Italian pasta, we'll definitely go back to Violino.

Very friendly staff. Nice outdoor seating and very good food. We had spaghetti – which was perfectly al dente – and a salad with chicken strips – very juicy – simply delicious.

We celebrated our birthday there with eight people. The food had nothing to do with Italian cuisine. The pasta was tasteless. The service was unfriendly. Once and never again! There are definitely better Italian restaurants in Leipzig.

The pasta with scampi and pistachios was delicious. There was a small issue with the order, but the overall experience, the very attentive waitresses, and the delicious food still deserve 5 stars.

For us, the Violino has long been more than just a restaurant – it has become our culinary home in Leipzig. The welcome from our host, Viktoria, is always warm and personal. She now knows as soon as she opens the door that we'll probably want to enjoy our favorite Lake Garda wine, Rosa del Frati, again – and she's almost always right. We particularly appreciate the homemade pasta – fresh, authentic, simply divine. The beef fillet is also always perfect: beautifully seared on the outside, tender and perfectly cooked on the inside. For us, the Violino is the ideal place for relaxed, cozy evenings with great food, wonderful wine, and genuine hospitality. We always look forward to our next visit – and it certainly won't be the last.

Wir sind eigentlich oft im Violino und haben uns sehr lange dort wohlgefühlt und waren stets mit dem Essen zufrieden. Bis heute Abend! Wir hatten Lachstatar - ging so - die Variante mit getrockneten Tomaten statt Avocado und etwas Fruchtigem war gewöhnungsbedürftig. Die Von mir bestellte Lasagne enthielt kein (!) Nudelblatt, es war Bolognese mit Béchamel und Käse. Das war’s! Eine Bolognese-Suppe. Das Essen meiner Partnerin war okay, Gnocchi in Salbei-Butter-Sauce, wobei die Butter bereits mit Parmesan zu einer Sauce aufgeschlagen und sehr cremig war. Wenig Salbei! Ist halt Geschmacksache! Nach Reklamation am Tisch wurde uns neues Essen angeboten, das haben wir abgelehnt, am Ende haben wir trotzt nochmaliger Anmerkungen unserer Beanstandungen den VOLLEN PREIS für die „Bolognese-Suppe“ gezahlt. Ein Angebot bspw. den Tischwein als Kompensation von der Rechnung zu streichen, gab es nicht. SCHADE! Wir werden nicht mehr kommen.

Bruschetta, gnocchi and pizza were tasty. Unfortunately, at least with one of the service staff, you had the impression that you were a nuisance rather than a welcome person.

Spontaneous visit. We would receive a friendly welcome. There was enough space. (Saturday lunchtime and football state match day) Conditions were very accommodating and quick. The food was very tasty. Would love to come back.

I wanted to grab a bite to eat on the way home. Some people were eating what looked like cake to me. I politely asked for a slice, to which the lady said in an unpleasantly condescending tone that they don't sell cake. When I replied that I thought I saw cake, she said it was tiramisu. However, the fact that I was mistaken in passing does not justify her unfriendly manner. For that reason alone I would not recommend it.

Ordered pizza and pasta to take away. It was ready very quickly and really tasty!

A very good Italian restaurant in itself. The pizzas are delicious (although they could be a bit crispier for my taste). The pasta dishes are also very good. What I don't quite like is the pricing policy in recent years—everything has become quite expensive. Another Italian restaurant in the same block shows that things can be different despite rising wage and food costs.

At the Violino you will be warmly welcomed and looked after, in the Italian tradition. The food leaves nothing to be desired, unfortunately after the delicious antipasti plate and the very good octopus I was so full that I postponed dessert until next time. The only thing that could be done is the 80s interior.

My Italian colleague recommended the restaurant to us because she said that Violino is really authentically Italian. And that's it! ❤️ And I think the Violino is the best restaurant I've ever been to. My whole family was happy. I heartily recommend the tiramisu. That was the best thing I've ever eaten in my life! Food didn't match the price, the gorgonzola in the scaloppine alla gorgonzola wasn't available or it disappeared due to too much nutmeg, the mussels were more of a taste disappointment, the bread was good and so was the pizza bread. So overall it doesn't correspond to the price. The service was okay, just a bit overwhelmed.

Tried new ones with the whole family, service was great 👍. Unfortunately the food only got 4 stars 🌟, the noodles were a bit overcooked but very tasty. Happy to test it a second time.

Were here again for a long time and were a bit disappointed. Portions not particularly large for the price (octopus with spaghetti) selection of starters very manageable. Everything tasted very good, but we weren't really satisfied. We also ordered a chocolate mousse. A convenience chocolate cake arrived. That had nothing to do with a mousse. A pity.

Everything was super tasty, I haven't eaten pasta as good as here in a long time :) Very friendly and attentive service, will definitely come back!

The restaurant has good service and can accommodate relatively big groups in a table (6-8 persons). I have visited the place two times.

Nicely furnished restaurant with mediocre food, we had actually hoped for more in terms of the ambience and the price. The Penne Quattro Fomaggi were certainly tasty, but not amazing or as good as you could have made yourself. Unfortunately, the lasagne was significantly worse than any I've eaten before. The cheese and pasta were baked very hard, the meat had an almost powdery consistency and the tomato sauce unfortunately tasted pretty cheap. My companion was very disappointed and couldn't really enjoy the food

Very solid Italian that works with fresh ingredients in a clean, hand-crafted manner. Clear, varied menu and additional day menu. Maybe Leipzig's best Italian.

The appetizer we ordered had been forgotten, but we were given a dessert as an apology. The pizza got cold very quickly, even after additional heating. Perhaps these thick plates should also be preheated. Gnocchi with lamb was also lukewarm when served. The taste was decent, but not special.

Am Samstag Mittag sassen dort genau 2 Personen und der Chef, der den Eintretenden keines Blickes würdigte. Na, gut, Fisch mit Spinat klang gut, war es aber nicht. So ein ungewürztes Gericht habe ich nicht mal an der Ostsee bekommen. Immerhin war der Preis recht stolz mit 27 Euro. Die italienische Küche hat doch so viele schöne Gewürze und den TK Spinat kann man wunderbar mit Knoblauch, Zwiebel, Muskat usw verfeinern. Ein Kochkurs wäre gut.

Eine der besten Pizzerien, in denen wir in Leipzig waren. Der Geschmack erinnert uns an die Zeit in Italien. Essen: wie man es von einem Restaurant im Musikviertel erwartet, ist der Preis ein Restaurantpreis. Wir sind zur Abendbrotzeit gekommen, als es sehr voll war, aber zum Glück hatten wir einen Tisch. Die beiden Pizzen, die man auf den Fotos sieht, heißen Siciliana und Margerita. Es ist so toll, dass selbst diese einfache Variante so gut schmeckt! Außerdem hat sie eine gute Größe, so dass man danach sicher satt ist. Ich kann mir vorstellen, dass es sehr schön wäre, im Sommer draußen zu sitzen. Drinnen sind die Tische an der Eingangstür ziemlich ungemütlich, weil es ziemlich kalt wird, wenn die Tür geöffnet bleibt. Wir mögen das Personal und den Besitzer dort. Wir würden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen. Grazie mille!

Octopussalat einmalig gut. Gesamtes Essen überdurchschnittlich, ungewöhnlich fein. Alles. Macht Spaß zu Essen. Als Familie mit Kind von Kellnerin nach kurzer Überlegung im Hinterraum platziert. Wohl nicht das gewünschte Publikum, was von draußen gesehen werden soll. Service hatte Tendenz eher robuste Umgangsformen.

Wir hatten hier eine wirklich hervorragende Erfahrung. Das Essen war irre lecker und die Bedienung sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Beispielsweise hat die Kellnerin uns proaktiv einen ruhigeren Platz angeboten, als sie festgestellt hat, dass es links und rechts ein bisschen zu voll wurde. Das Ambiente ist gehoben und die Preise dennoch moderat. 10 of 10 would do again.

War mein erster Besuch in diesem Restaurant. Positiv überrascht von Angebot, freundliche Bedienung, geschmacklich sehr gut. Großer Hund war kein Problem mit in Räumlichkeiten zu nehmen was für mich sehr wichtig ist. Jederzeit ein Besuch wert!

Below average, bland, tasteless food. No service to speak of. Decent selection of wines and a few starter dishes were mostly fine. A place to imbibe generously and have a bite to eat, without worring about food poisoning.

Essen war okay! Atmosphäre geht besser. Wir haben schon netteres Personal erlebt! Wein und Wasser zu warm!

Ich war hier mit Kollegen zum Mittagessen. Jede Pizza kostet mittags 7,50 €, einige besonders aufwendige 8,50 €. Ein kleines Ginger Ale kostet 2,40 €. Die Pizza hat mir gut geschmeckt und kam nach kurzer Wartezeit, die Bedienung war unauffällig - nicht besonders nett, aber keineswegs unfreundlich. Die Einrichtung hat mir nicht gefallen, für ein Abendessen würde ich in eine nettere Umgebung gehen wollen. Fürs Mittagessen passt es.

Hübsches Lokal mit Tageskarte und Pizzaofen Freundliches Personal Sah alles vielversprechend aus; doch das wenige Filet das ich gegessen hatte kam oben wieder raus. Wir werden dieses Restaurant meiden

Das einen die Kellnerin öfters ignoriert ist schlecht. Bedienung beziehungsweise das reichen der Getränke / des Essens verbesserungswürdig. Aber das einem Pärchen beim Essen von hinten ohne Ankündigung ein Stuhl, von der sogenannten Kellnerin, vom Tisch weggezogen wird geht überhaupt nicht! Gehobene Preise, sehr gutes Essen aber der Service und der Umgang mit dem Gast passt leider gar nicht. Schade.

So eine schlechte Pizza habe ich selten erlebt. Der Boden fade, ohne Geschmack, trocken... Mehr braucht man dazu nicht sagen. Bitte nicht probieren....

Wir waren mit der Familie hier. Bestellten eine „kleine“ Margharita für die Kinder. Berechnet wurde eine große. Auf freundliche Nachfrage wurden wir angeschnautzt, der Teig sei derselbe, daher auch der Preis. Kein Problem, kann man aber auch vorher sagen. Die Tagliatelle mit Lachs waren ohne Geschmack, die Antipasti waren ok Werden sicherlich dieses Restaurant nicht mehr besuchen

Wir waren spontan mit der Familie zum Abendessen. Der Wein war in Ordnung aber kein Highlight, so dass wir auf Aperol Sprizz umgestiegen sind. Die Vorspeisen haben wir uns geteilt. Die Pasta und auch die Pizza zum Hauptgang waren ebenfalls in Ordnung. Die Espressi und die Grappa waren leider nicht so gut. Zum gehobenem Preisniveau passte lediglich der gute, aufmerksame Service.

Jeder Besuch in Leipzig führt uns in das Ristorante Violino. Hier kann man außergewöhnlich gut essen. Ob Pasta,Pizza, Fisch oder Fleisch. Alles wird frisch zubereitet. Ich hatte in diesem Jahr gemischte Antipasti und danach eine Lasagne. Ich habe selten eine so gute Lasagne gegessen. Erwähnenswert ist, dass es fast alle Gerichte als Kinderportion gibt und dass Kinder nicht wie andernorts auf die übllichen 2-3 Kindergerichte eingeschränkt sind. Alles in allem tolles italienisches Essen, guter Service und gemütliches Ambiente.
