Whenever we're in Garmisch, we have to go to Calabrese! Excellent, typical Italian cuisine! Very friendly and attentive service and reasonable prices. You should always check out the wine list and order one of their interesting and exquisite wines with your meal! They'll also give you excellent advice on that.

A nice little restaurant with the usual Italian dishes, none of which were particularly impressive. The waitress seemed a bit annoyed, while her colleagues were very friendly. The pizzas weren't fully cooked and were consequently soft and a bit rubbery. The meat dishes were underwhelming, but the side dishes, such as the vegetables and fries, were very good. All in all, I've had better Italian food in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

Delicious pizza, friendly staff. Worth a visit!

We ate here a week ago while on holiday and were unfortunately disappointed. I had reserved a table online for two adults. We had a 16-month-old toddler with us. At reception, I was asked, somewhat uncertainly and rather irritably, if we needed a high chair, as this hadn't been mentioned in the reservation. (My mistake; in my opinion, it wasn't really relevant, as a high chair fits at any table). We were then seated at a table for four instead of two, so that the staff would have enough space around the table when the high chair was there. It was immediately obvious that the staff wasn't happy about the larger table being occupied. (We would have had plenty of room at the smaller table and could have easily managed). Then there wasn't enough cutlery on the table, and when the food arrived, no one paid attention. After several minutes without anyone coming by the table, I asked for it myself. My meal was excellent and tasted really good. My husband's pizza was supposed to be a spicy pepperoni pizza, but it wasn't spicy at all. Our little daughter ate with me on her own little plate. When my husband and I had finished eating and she didn't want to sit anymore, we got up briefly. There was still food on her plate; we were just taking a short break. During that time, the waiter (the owner himself) simply took the plate away without a word or even asking. It was absolutely outrageous, because the food would have been gone if I hadn't promptly asked if it was still there and if we should please pack it up. Since we had already finished our drinks during the meal, we weren't asked if we wanted anything else, and after all the plates had been cleared, we weren't asked about dessert. So we ordered from the dessert menu ourselves. The table next to us (clearly regulars) received such lavish attention from the owner. They sent us a complimentary appetizer (which no other table received) and gave us an extensive wine recommendation... while we were practically ignored. It's a real shame when regulars are obviously treated better than other guests! ' ... Since we didn't leave a tip for the terrible service, they didn't even say goodbye to us politely. My pasta was really delicious, but no matter how good the food is, with such awful service, nothing could drag me back. What a shame!

We visited Restaurant Calabrese again today and are once again delighted by the typical Calabrian cuisine and the welcoming service. Food just like in Calabria. The antipasti platter was a delight, the pasta was perfectly seasoned, and the Scallopine al Limone was just like in Italy. Many thanks from the family in Kiel. Until next time.

I came to this restaurant because I saw the really good reviews claiming the best Italian food in the area. While the food was good the service was very disappointing. Very unfortunate to say but I believe the waiter’s lack of service towards me was because I am black. I was the only back person as the restaurant. My waiter was a female and I ordered water and pasta bolognese. The water was left on my table I was not able to open it as it was very difficult to open. It was very difficult to get her attention to ask for the bottle to be opened b/c she was serving others. I finally realized it was personal when I asked for a to go container and she left it on the table and walked away. I thought (like in most restaurants) she would pack it for me and bring it out. Despite that I was okay to pack the food myself until literally seconds later a few other girls sitting at another table asked for a to-go box, she immediately took their plates and packed the food for them. I was very upset and because this was hurtful as I was the only black person in the restaurant. I’ve had experienced amazing customer service while in Germany until I came to this restaurant. I was so excited to try their food and leave a good review but I never expected to leave hurt and disrespected by this restaurant. I am a paying customer and deserve the same quality experience as everyone else. Again, very disappointed and if you plan to come here be mindful the service may not be good if you’re black.

I had seen a pasta dish in the reviews that was unfortunately no longer on the menu, but that wasn't a problem and I still got it. It was absolutely delicious, with large portions and plenty of filling, including shrimp. If we ever vacation in Gamisch again, we'll definitely come back.

A truly fantastic restaurant, a real gem: Very warm and child-friendly service, the pizza is absolutely delicious (the dough is really good, I don't usually like pizza dough that much) and the tomato sauce is fruity. The prices are reasonable too :)

We discovered this pizzeria by chance, a little off the main shopping street. The food was very good, and we didn't have to wait long. The pizza was thin, the crust crispy, and anything but dry. The service was always attentive.

Based on the many good reviews, our expectations were high. However, we were unfortunately somewhat disappointed. We sat outside on the terrace, where the place looks unkempt, partly due to the abundance of weeds, and it gives off a messy impression. However, we didn't want to form any preconceived notions. However, as soon as the pizza arrived at the table, a few flesh flies appeared. We were almost entirely occupied keeping them away from our food, preventing us from enjoying the meal as much as we would have elsewhere, and found it quite unappealing. But that wasn't the end of it. Suddenly, a hair appeared on one of the pizzas, stuck between the topping and the dough. It definitely wasn't ours; it must have gotten underneath during the pizza preparation. This gave us an unhygienic impression. Otherwise, the pizza was okay, but there are much better ones in terms of taste. These aren't wood-fired pizzas, but electric oven pizzas. The staff were friendly. The location was okay, but you're sitting right on the street. We wouldn't go there again for dinner. It's a shame.

We always visit the Calabrese when we come to Garmisch and were delighted again. From the appetizers to the fish platter and the spaghetti trapanese, everything was excellent, and the service was very friendly and attentive. We'll be back.

Delicious food with attentive service! We (2 adults, 2 children) visited the restaurant spontaneously and without a reservation. We were immediately greeted very warmly by the staff and were able to get a nice outdoor seating. The children (5, 6 years old) were always included. Without being asked, the kids were given Marbacher sausages and pencils to pass the time. These were very well received! The ingredients in the dishes were fresh and the portions were more than sufficient. There is also a variation for "little guests" for each dish. The prices are fair and not excessive. All in all, the food and service are highly recommended. We would be happy to return!

One of the best restaurants I tried on this trip! Honestly, it was the most delicious place I ate at. We ordered Margherita, Mama Teresa, vegetable pizza, Penne Arrabbiata, and Risotto ai Funghi Porcini. Everything was amazing, but I especially highly recommend the Mama Teresa pizza—it was unbelievably good. I actually ordered one, loved it so much, and ordered a second one right after! If you’re in Garmisch, this is a must-visit for authentic Italian pizza and pasta. I can’t recommend it enough!

Absolutely rip off in 2025 Lasagna is a two by two inch cube that is so overcooked the noodles are identifiable Salad had to be dressing done by yourself with a bitter olive oil and balsamic vinegar. They didn’t even cut the meat! Just the cold whole slice. Salad was bitter Both pizzas were terrible. Undercooked bottom. Lack of flavor sauce. Cheese greasy. This place many years ago was great. Would not waste money here again! Server was terrible. Lacked any interaction. No eye contact. Slow slow slow

The food was good. The service was not. We were not offered oil/vinegar with our bread service, although others around us received. The waitress charged me for a glass of wine I sent back because it tasted old; the new glass of wine was fine. I did not expect to have to pay for the bad glass. The atmosphere was OK. The windows were open and wafts of second hand smoke were blowing into the non smoking dining room. There are better spots to eat with friendly service. I would recommend trying those other spots.

Truly the best Italian food. We ordered the vegetable petit four, the margarita, the risotto, and the pasta. Everything was really delicious and fresh. So much so that we made some orders again.

Caution!!!!! The service was very friendly. At the end, the waitress asked if everything was okay. I replied that the carbonara was a disaster – it had nothing to do with real carbonara. It was just pasta with scrambled eggs – the biggest mistake you can make with carbonara. The waitress said she could see for herself that the dish was completely dry and apologized. We accepted this. Shortly afterward, however, her colleague came over and tried to convince us that we were exaggerating. He finally admitted that the chef had made a mistake. If anyone knows anything about Italian cuisine, they should really choose another restaurant in GaPa.

We have been coming to Antonio for many years. Everything is right here! The menu is so diverse that we look forward to trying something new every time we visit. Starters, main courses, dessert, wine selection and the professional service from the whole team make us come here again and again. Ristorante Trattoria Calabrese was an outstanding experience. Appetizers of parmesan soup and fresh mozzarella with tomatoes & basil along with delicious bread; main dishes Tagliatelli with pesto and shrimp and the chef's rigatoni special (complimented by an excellent wine from the Calabria region of Italy); desserts of Tiramasu with lemoncello within and kiwi over the top, and a strawberry-topped custard. All meals during our week in Bavaria were excellent, but this one was upper echelon: a truly authentic Italian experience with fresh ingredients, rich flavors, and a warm welcome from the Ballecco family. Highly recommended!

We have had delivery service two nights in a row and it has been exceptional both nights! Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. They delivered as promised and the meal was hot and delicious! The salads are fresh and perfectly dressed. The staff is delightful and made a special meal for our gluten intolerant friend! Will order again tomorrow for three nights in a row!

We had dinner for three evenings, during our school trip, with two groups of 40 kids each. The owners and staff proved to be extremely kind and helpful, attentive to the kids' intolerances and allergies. My first visit to Tattoria Calabrese was a culinary experience! Real Nduja from Calabria and many specialists that you can't get anywhere else in Garmisch. Lovingly cooked and seasoned perfectly for me! You can definitely feel the passion for the job and the love for the guests. I've been there several times now and can say that every dish has exceeded my expectations. The service is just like the food, careful attention is paid to ensuring that everyone has what they want. The ambience is appealing and fits the entire concept perfectly. Absolutely recommended and in my opinion a “MUST” in Garmisch-Partenkirchen! Just something special P.S. Nummer 3 bei TripAdvisor zurecht. Heute „spontan“ für „italienisch“ zum Mittag entschieden und hier eingekehrt. Samstag ohne Reservierung, für zwei gibt es immer Platz 👌🏻 Hier kocht der Chef selbst und das schmeckt man. Das Essen war absolut lecker und die Teller waren wunderschön angerichtet. Himmlische Melanzane! Komme immer wieder gerne in dieses familiäre Ristorante. Esse meistens irgendwas von der Tageskarte und bin immer sehr zufrieden. Die Melanzane die es gestern gab, muss ich aber richtig loben. Mit dem frischen, hausgemachten Brot ein Genuss! Gerne wieder.

Food was unseasoned and sometimes cold. The food wasn't freshly prepared and the service wasn't necessarily polite/good.

Until yesterday I always ordered pasta and was always satisfied... unfortunately yesterday I decided on pizza and unfortunately it was the worst pizza I've had in a long time... the taste was weak, it felt like there was only 3 grams of cheese and the dough was still half raw... maybe the pizza baker was on vacation, but I'm still very disappointed...

Unacceptable. We made a reservation for 6 people a month before from Greece. We got confirmation. We arrived exactly on time. The table was not available. They asked us to wait 10 minutes. We waited while the cold was bitter. After 15 minutes we returned. However, the table was not available again. The conclusions are yours for their professionalism and consistency.

Everything was amazing. Excellent friendly staff, clean restaurant and very tasty food... Portions are big, very big. But there is also the option of taking small portions for children. Always my pleasure. We like to order here for delivery and also eat out once or twice a year. The service is always super nice and attentive. The food is always plentiful and good, and the price/performance ratio is great. Ambiance in the restaurant is that classic Mediterranean one you would expect from an Italian restaurant. Their bruschetta is highly recommended. I also absolutely love their panna cotta.
