Still the best Italian in Frankfurt in my opinion. There's a lot going on in summer and winter, so it can be a bit loud and chaotic, but for me that's what gives the restaurant its authentic charm. Some of the staff have been there for a long time and put a lot of effort into ensuring that guests have a good time. The food is great, whether pizza, pasta or the starters. Reservation is absolutely necessary!

Nice home made style pasta! Would recommend it over the pizza. In general, food is good but average level. Cozy atmosphere (with several rooms and also nice for big groups).

I've been here more than 4 times so far, and I was so satisfied every time. It's yummy and the portions are huge!! The baguettes served before meals are the best baguettes I've ever had.

I made a reservation for the Papanova by phone today. I almost exclusively give 5 star reviews because I find it much better to say positive things about restaurants and there are too many negative people. I would like to say in advance that I am not that clever and that you can only access the card online using a QR code. After no waiter came to us for over an hour, we received a very rude comment about how we could only have one drink despite having a reservation and then wanted the bill. Feedback again to the owner's daughter: we would have loved to place an order and order food and other drinks there. Unfortunately that didn't work. The reason for this was my inability to view an online map. Nevertheless, in the end you still have the unpleasant feeling that your lack of skills are being punished very harshly. Who wants that anyway ;-)

Great atmosphere. Service very nice. However, the food was very mixed. Often the food is great and delicious, sometimes it's so oily that it's inedible.

I was there for lunch with a friend, the staff was friendly and quick. I was surprised that you can get so much for so little money in Frankfurt, fresh baguette and oil first of all, some other restaurants can't do that, even if you have to wait longer for the food. That was not the case in Papanova. We didn't have to wait long and had soup, a main course and coffee for little money. Yes, it's a bit cramped, but it's comfortably furnished. I'll definitely come back.

Good pizza & pasta 🍝 You should definitely make a reservation for the weekend!

Wir mussten 20 Minuten warten, bis wir überhaupt bestellen durften. In dieser Zeit haben wir einen Kellner gebeten, bestellen zu dürfen. Der Kellner sagte uns beide Male, dass er nur für Getränke zuständig sei, den fürs Essen zuständigen Kellner aber zu uns schickt. Es dauerte dann aber, wie gesagt, 20 Minuten, bis wir endlich bestellen durften. In dieser Zeit konnten wir gut beobachten, wie diverse Kellner damit beschäftigt waren, sich miteinander oder mit anderen Gästen zu unterhalten. Das bestellte Essen wurde dann so serviert, dass einer von uns sein Essen zuerst bekam, die anderen zwei erst 10 Minuten später. Das Essen selbst hat nicht schlecht (allerdings auch nicht mehr als das) geschmeckt. Der desolate Service gab den Ausschlag, dass wir das Restaurant für nicht empfehlenswert halten und kaum ein zweites Mal besuchen werden.

Den Ausschlag gab die durchgehende Öffnungszeit am Sonntag,dass wir dieses Lokal ausgesucht haben. Als wir gegen 14.30 dort ankamen,war das Lokal proppe voll und nur wenige Tische im Aussenbereich frei. Zum Glück k bekamen wir nach ca 10 Minuten einen Tisch im Lokal. Zugegeben, es war laut, aber der Service war sehr freundlich die Vorspeisen ok und zum yHauptgericht machte man es möglich, dass dogar insere Sonderwünsche erfüllt wurden. Besonders angenehm dabei war,dass man uns fragte, ob wir den Preis auch akzeptieren! Toll! Wir kommen wieder

The employees are always super friendly and nice. As for the food, I can only speak for the pizza and it was quite good. I've eaten much better ones. The ambience is unsuitable if you want to eat comfortably. It's super tight, there are a lot of places where people have to constantly walk past you/squeeze in and it's super loud. There are also uncomfortable seating areas.

We visited Papanova for the first time yesterday and were thrilled. I had called shortly before to ask if I could bring my dog. This is possible and they had already written down that I would like to come by and reserved a table. On site they had provided a table for us in the corner so that my dog ​​could have some peace and quiet. Thanks for this! And then the food - delicious! (Starters and main courses were really delicious). The service - friendly and attentive. So we'll definitely be back.

A really great restaurant, almost cheap by Frankfurt standards. My pesto starter was really tasty. It's been a long time since I treated myself to a steak and I have to say it was a really good decision. Rarely have I had such a great piece of meat. That wasn't the last visit.

Great Italian in Frankfurt's Nordend. Great quality and has been for ages. The pizza comes fresh from the stone oven and is really tasty, the service is friendly and the atmosphere is authentic and cozy. We always enjoy coming here.

Very tasty pizza, 5 stars for that. Unfortunately, one meal (not pizza) arrived 15 minutes before all the other dishes (pizza)... Otherwise everything was great, even if the tables outside were very narrow.

Very bad service. It seems that they have been becoming to comfortable with their name and that thus so many people are coming. I would not recommend anymore though I used to like this place very much.

We visited Papanova in Frankfurt and had a mixed experience. Although we had reserved a table outside, we still had to wait and ended up sitting inside, which was disappointing. The host at the entrance was quite rude, which didn’t start our evening on the best note. They also forgot one of our dishes, which added to the frustration. However, the food was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. Our server was very kind, attentive, and even offered us some complimentary limoncello, which was a lovely touch. Despite the issues with service, I would still recommend Papanova because the food is fantastic—but the service definitely has room for improvement.

The food was really tasty, the service was mediocre at best. Personally, I have worked in the catering industry for a long time and I value proactive service. That said, I don't like seeking the attention of a waiter who then acts annoyed when I want to order. This was noticeable throughout our visit with low to medium occupancy. In addition, we received our food 10-15 minutes apart, which is obviously stupid for two of us. However, I guess I wasn't charged for another Coke after a wasp flew into the full bottle. We ate truffle tagliolini and a SUGOBO pizza. The pizza was very good with fresh basil and the tagliolini with truffles were worth the money and really enjoyable. 5 stars for the food & 3 stars for the service, 4 stars overall.

We wanted to test the restaurant to find out whether we might celebrate our wedding here. We ordered pizza, carbonara and a risotto to test. The half portion of risotto as a starter came last and came to the table as a whole portion. The taste is quite ok. The craftsmanship is not that good. It was more reminiscent of a rice soup than a creamy risotto. The carbonara was ordered in the classic way and it came as such. The guanciale was barely fried, very flabby instead of crispy. We apologized for this with an espresso and a tiramisu. We'll keep the comment about tiramisu to ourselves - because it's free! The pizza gets 3 stars for food here! It deserves 5 stars. Yummy!!! Unfortunately that's not enough for us to come back.

The Papanova now looks more like a smoky train station bar than a restaurant. The outdoor seating is so tight that you have to move tables to get to your place without clearing the neighboring table. The proximity to the other guests meant that we sat non-stop between cigarette and vape smoke, which made the meal extremely unpleasant (and I say that as a smoker). It's the first time I had to air out my clothes on the balcony after eating. In addition, there was a background of noise that was constantly increasing, so that at times it was difficult to understand the person I was talking to. This may also be because you involuntarily have to listen to your neighbors' holiday videos. The service was friendly but chaotic as there was no clear allocation of tables. The pizzas are still excellent, the “Antonella” in particular remains a favorite. Unfortunately, the pasta dishes lacked “effort”; a little more spice and sophistication would be desirable. The place is still okay for pizza, but I wouldn't recommend it for a real dinner because of the atmosphere (even though I used to be a big fan).

0.7l water €7.50. That doesn't occur to me, but there are always "stupid" people who pay it. The prices in pizzerias in Germany are now close to star (Michelin) restaurants. This one is part of it. If you order pizza it is very tasty and you won't get any surprises when paying.

First of all, the food was good, but... First an order was messed up and then basically thrown out. I reserved a table for four people and we ordered. It was very full and that's why it took a little longer, unfortunately only three meals came, and it was only after repeated requests that the fourth person had his meal more than an hour after arriving. We might have wanted to have a dessert or coffee, but instead the bill was slammed onto the table without being asked, which was a friendly way of saying "Back off, we don't need you as a guest."

Really hard to find a person who knows English. Even English menu doesn’t work always shows German. Pizza is not the best but good. You must taste the tiramisu. Really kind place

Freundliches Personal, leckeres Essen ….. Was will man mehr! Es ist zwar immer etwas laut im Lokal, aber jetzt bei gutem Wetter bietet es sich ja gerade an, draußen Platz zu nehmen und bei einem Aperol den Abend ausklingen zu lassen.

Ate spaghetti Calabrese with Nduja. It was very tasty and was quite spicy, recommended. Mixed salad was not recommended, too dry and unseasoned

First of all: the pizza is absolutely divine and probably one of the best pizzas I have ever tasted. I would happily give the store another chance just because of the food. The service, on the other hand, was unfortunately a complete disappointment. After ordering drinks, none of the waiters came to us even once. We were sitting in the back corner of an adjoining room, so even making eye contact was almost impossible, even though someone was constantly walking past the door frame. In the end, without exaggeration, we waited half an hour for every little thing (ordering food, reordering water, waiting for the water, asking for the table to be cleared, ordering dessert, asking for a bill) until we could either flag someone over or do it ourselves got up to find and fetch one of the waiters. When he kindly pointed out that it was a shame that we were only able to order dessert so late and that there was now only a single portion of tiramisu left, the waiter simply replied that there were only two portions left two hours ago (so around 7:30 p.m.?) and therefore it wouldn't have made any difference. We were also asked whether several people should pack our leftover pizza together, even though that would have added up to more than a whole pizza (so the leftovers would have been stacked on top of each other in a box??) and apart from that, as a group of friends, we weren't together either live... Basically, the staff were friendly and nice, but we were still completely forgotten and no special effort was evident in this regard. The ambience of the restaurant is stylish and cozy, but it is also quite cramped and crowded, so at times it was difficult to understand each other and conversations were difficult, which was unfortunately really tiring. Maybe it's better in summer if you can sit outside... There were also no physical menu cards, so everything had to be looked up on the smartphone and was rather confusing.

Had a great experience here. Went because it was close. Walked in to carry out a pizza and was in and out in just a few minutes. Person making my pizza was very kind and helpful and the pizza was amazing! Would definitely recommend.

First the positive: My Antonello pizza was very tasty. Maybe one of the best pizzas I've had so far. The small mixed salad was also great and much bigger than I thought. My friend had the rump steak with broccoli and fried potatoes. He also found his food very tasty. But now to the negative: The service wasn't good. When my buddy got his steak, I had to wait another 20 minutes for my pizza. By the time I had them, he was almost finished eating. The problem may be that the pizzeria and restaurant have separate kitchens and there is no agreement. Whatever the reason that didn't work, it's a no-go for me because you want to eat together. Unfortunately, pepper sauce couldn't be ordered in addition to the steak; there's probably just none. At Vitello Tonnato it was only said that it was sold out (on a Friday at 8:45 p.m.). In addition, waiters came several times who offered our food to other tables and wanted to give us things that we hadn't ordered. Really annoying. When our main course came (at least the steak), the waiter just wanted to put the food there instead of clearing the table first. Not exactly clever, especially since the round tables for two in the lower area of ​​the restaurant are already much too small. Conclusion: Next time I'll order a pizza there, but I probably won't go back to the restaurant anytime soon.

VIO Johannisbeerenschorle is my favourite Schorle as well✨ ——— Cons: - The restaurant is not big, the walk passage and table distance is really very narrow and crowded. - The waiter forget to send in our order and we waited quite long to find out it was not ordered and have to order again and wait again 🫠 it’s hard to get waiter attention also if you need to request anything or add any order.

The ambience is great. High-quality and stylishly furnished guest room. Full and quite crowded. So it was very lively, we liked that. The service was generally good. The food was ok. With tomato salad, for example, I would have... B. higher quality tomatoes are desired instead of watery standard tomatoes. I would pay more for it too. The beef fillet tips in the pasta were very well done. The other pasta was extremely salty, but was replaced without any problems. The “apple and dark chocolate cake” was a pretty powerful chocolaty mass. I (maybe) tasted a hint of apple aroma. I couldn’t find “apples”. Something different than expected. Vitello tonato and tiramisu were solid. All in all we were a little disappointed with the food. You have to be aware that this is more of a simple pizza/pasta place, even if you can get a different impression due to the great overall look.

The quality of the food has continued to decline over the last three visits. In addition, you are pressured to leave your seat on time after 2 hours, even though you would like to order something in a larger group. The three limoncellos “on the house” were charged at €13.50.

Hatten einen Tisch für 20:00 Uhr bestellt. Etwa 35 min später hatten wir dann unseren Tisch. Was aber dann wirklich schlecht war ist die Tatsache, dass wir dann nochmal über eine halbe Stunde auf den Kellner warten mussten, der die Getränkebestellung aufnimmt. Der Hauswein (rot) war sehr einfacher Natur, die Pizza war gut. Insgesamt total unterbesetzter Service in einem vollen Restaurant. Haben uns geärgert und werden nicht mehr hingehen.

The food was good and the portions were sufficient. Unfortunately, despite having a reservation, we had to wait outside in the drizzle for 25 minutes. We weren't the only guests who felt this way. The table assigned to us was in the basement in an extremely full guest room - the air was accordingly. We then had to wait another 40 minutes for our food. The waiter was friendly, but a few fewer tables and better planning of reservations would help. As a little additional information for guests who might still want to make a reservation: The dining room upstairs and the tables outside looked much more inviting.

Nice restaurant with a “real” Italian pizzeria flair in the entrance area. We highly recommend spending time in the squares near the stone oven. From there you can clearly see the massaging of the pizzas and the baking process in the open oven. The staff was also very accommodating and also original. You should also keep in mind the good dessert as usual with espresso. Highly recommended 👍

10/10 a must visit place if you love italian food, pizza recommendation is the 4 different cheese type pizza and a other one thats with pesto, champignons and parmesan

The tagliatelle and shrimp were delicious. Expertly cooked. The fish over risotto was also nicely done. Two thumbs up. The tartufo desert was a nice ending to the meal. Das Essen war wirklich perfekt. Wir hatte 4 Pizzen und einmal Spagethi Carbonara. Was wirklich sehr störend war, war die Lautstärke im Lokal und der teilweise sehr unhöffliche Service. Auch dass der Tisch nur für 2 Stunden reserviert war , hat uns etwas unter Druck gesetzt. Wir mussten uns dann entscheiden, ob wir eine Vorspeise oder eine Nachspeise bestellen wollten. Für beides war keine Zeit. Das Restaurant ist auch so engbestuhlt, dass ein Mitglied unserer Gruppe ständig bom Service angerempelt wurde. Es wurde sich nicht mal entschuldigt wurde sich dafür. Also der Service ist ausbaufähig, wirkte auch sehr gestresst. Aber das Essen war Sptzenklasse.

Haben 1 Woche zuvor reserviert. Am Telefon teilten wir den Wunsch: ein Tisch für zwei, romantisch -abseits. Nun kamen wir pünktlich, 2 Zweiertische waren frei, 1 am Fenster , 1 eng in der Mitte des Raumes. Wir sollten den in der Mitte nehmen. Wir teilten mit, dass der Wunsch abseits geäußert wurde… am Fenster wäre der Tisch für andere reserviert- geht nicht. Wir setzten uns dann in die Mitte. Nach 20 Minuten warten, da nicht mal jemand kam um die Bestellung für Getränke aufzunehmen, haben wir den Chaos-Laden verlassen.
