Wir hatten eine Reservierung und sind pünktlich erschienen – wurden jedoch direkt beim Empfang mit den Worten begrüßt: „Ihr könnt gehen, wenn ihr keine Reservierung habt.“ In genau diesem Ton. Nachdem wir klargestellt haben, dass wir eine Reservierung haben, mussten wir trotzdem erstmal 20 Minuten warten. Anschließend wurden wir an einen dreckigen, nicht vorbereiteten Tisch gesetzt – weder sauber noch gedeckt. Trotz mehrfacher Nachfrage wurden wir über längere Zeit komplett ignoriert. Selbst einfache Dinge wie eine Speisekarte oder ein Glas Wasser mussten wir aktiv einfordern. Grundsätzlich habe ich für vieles Verständnis – gerade wenn es stressig ist oder etwas schiefläuft. Aber dann erwarte ich zumindest eine kurze Kommunikation. Fast eine Stunde lang trotz Reservierung ignoriert zu werden, ist einfach unangenehm und nicht in Ordnung. Währenddessen wirkte das Personal insgesamt unorganisiert und unprofessionell – es wurde untereinander diskutiert und gestritten, anstatt sich um die Gäste zu kümmern. Lediglich ein Kellner war bemüht, der Rest des Teams leider gar nicht. Was die Situation für mich zusätzlich besonders unangenehm gemacht hat: Ich bin eigentlich regelmäßig dort und habe meine Zeit bisher immer sehr gerne in diesem Restaurant verbracht. Umso peinlicher war dieses Erlebnis – vor allem, weil ich einen Gast dabeihatte, der zum ersten Mal dort war. Nach insgesamt fast einer Stunde Wartezeit ohne Service haben wir uns entschieden zu gehen. Super schade!

Nachdem uns der Kellner die Plätze zugewiesen hatte, warteten wir etwa 15 Minuten vergeblich auf eine Speisekarte und eine Bedienung. Leider kam kein Kellner zu uns, sodass wir keine Bestellung aufgeben konnten. Zudem ist die Bestuhlung im Außenbereich so eng gestellt, dass man beim Vorbeigehen ständig von anderen Gästen am Rücken gestreift wird – sehr unangenehm. Auch Musik fehlt komplett, was die Atmosphäre wenig einladend macht. Nach rund 15 Minuten Wartezeit sind wir schließlich gegangen. Daher kann ich die Qualität des Essens nicht bewerten.

Wir waren am vergangenen Freitag im Restaurant Charlot in Frankfurt und hatten einen rundum gelungenen Abend. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet – hochwertig, perfekt zubereitet und geschmacklich wirklich auf den Punkt. Man merkt, dass hier mit viel Können und Liebe zum Detail gearbeitet wird. Besonders hervorheben darf ich auch den Service: freundlich, aufmerksam und sehr professionell, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu wirken. Kurzum - ein tolles Restaurant mit angenehmer Atmosphäre, hervorragender Küche und erstklassigem Service. Besten Dank!

Leider enttäuscht! Tisch reserviert, aber haben 20 Minuten bei Eiseskälte warten müssen. Hätten einen Tisch im Raucherbereich haben können; nein Danke! Endlich am Tisch, wurden dann aber schlichtweg nicht bedient bzw. nicht wie gewohnt. Alles hat ewig gedauert. Essen war gut, aber für den Preis überschaubare Portionen. Nichts aufs Haus für die Umstände und zum Abschied, nicht mal unsere Mäntel geholt und auch kein Ciao. Gast neben uns die ganze Zeit das Handy auf laut, total störend, aber das Personal stört es offensichtlich nicht…. Sehr schade!

We actually just wanted to have a nice drink – unfortunately, that was a mistake. Upon arrival, we received an unfriendly welcome. When we asked if we could have a drink, we received an annoyed "Yes, but only because we have a free table." So much for our first impression. Shortly after, a waiter came – no "Hello," no smile, just an unfriendly "What do you want?" I asked for a menu, whereupon he walked away, visibly annoyed, and then slammed ONE menu for four people on the table. After 20 minutes of waiting, our four Hugos finally arrived – which unfortunately barely tasted of anything. Almost all ice, completely watered down, and all for just under €14 per glass – an absolute disgrace. When we wanted to pay, the next negative highlight came: The employee simply told us the amount (approx. €56) and we waited for the card reader. Instead, he stared at us for several seconds and then asked, annoyed, "Yes, how much should I pay?" – completely inappropriate. When we asked, puzzled, all we got was a dismissive "Oh, nothing." He typed in the amount and disappeared – no thanks, no goodbye, nothing. To expect a tip at this price and with this level of service – an absolute disgrace. Tips are given for good service, and they are given voluntarily by the guest. Asking for a tip in such a supposedly "upscale" restaurant is simply embarrassing. Never again.

We had a great seat and received good service. The food, however, was really not good… The salad had no real dressing, the vinegar they used was unfortunately not good, the Caesar salad just tasted like pureed fish, but the salads themselves were fresh. The cheese board was also good. However, overall, the quality wasn't what we expected for the price.

We were at Charlot. While the ambiance and service were very good, the food was a real disappointment in terms of value for money. The prices are on par with a luxury restaurant, but the quality is more in line with average suburban dining. Since the food is the focus for me, I can only give it 1 out of 5 stars. The two kinds of steak tartare for €34 were bland and almost unseasoned. A small dollop of steak sauce cost €9. The five tempura prawns for €28 were obviously frozen, and the accompanying sauces seemed like they came from a supermarket. A small bowl of truffle pasta as a side dish to a mediocre steak cost a whopping €21. Conclusion: For this money, you can eat in a truly top-class restaurant where the ambiance, service, and cuisine are impressive.

Given the location right next to the opera, it's clear that you'll pay a premium. The service was mostly good. 3 euros per person for a dry baguette and a few olives... The beef fillet was okay. But nothing special. A small portion was still rare. The second dish, however, was very disappointing for me. Sea bream "al Cartoccio" cooked in baking paper & served with sea bream fillet with Frutti di Mare in white wine and tomato sauce Sounds great. When I read Frutti di Mare, I expect that, too, and not just mussels, 80 percent of which are mussels. Then it immediately says "mussels in white wine sauce." After this disappointment, we skipped dessert. We won't be coming back. There are better restaurant experiences.

A place for nouveau riche influencers who want to show off their style on the terrace, even without eating. Such a poor overall rating can't be misleading.

The portions are small, completely overpriced, and tastes mediocre at best. This starts with the cover charge of just under €3 – which comes with a simple baguette and olives. My main course of salmon was ridiculously small, and the dessert that followed, "Chocolate Malheur," had nothing to offer other than a creative name for a banally presented chocolate souflé with vanilla ice cream and cherries. But of course, it cost €16.xx. Service is fine, the location is nice.

I've never experienced such a level of unfriendliness in a cafe. For the first time, unlike the ladies next to us, who had ordered drinks like us, we weren't offered a free side dish. On top of that, the waiter became very angry when he realized he'd made a mistake with the order and simply threw the card reader onto the table when we went to pay. I don't recommend this cafe due to the dubious, unfriendly, and highly disrespectful way they treat their guests.

We stopped here for a cold drink while walking around the plaza where the Alte Oper is. We sat outside under cover of a large umbrella and sat on some nicely padded lounge seating. My wife got a Limoncello and I got a Coke Zero. Her Limoncello was served with a fresh flower floating on top of it. Nice service here as well. Had we been hungry, we may have ordered lunch too.

Nice restaurant on Opernplatz. However, the service unfortunately leaves a lot to be desired. We were in a large group and had to wait an hour for our starter. We weren't exactly thrilled and hoped that at least the main course would be quicker. It took 2 hours. So we had already been sitting there for 3 hours and had only just had the main course. In the end, there were things on our bill worth around €75 that we didn't even order.

We were served by 2 very nice waiters, Donato di Dio, and the other from Pescara (I don't remember his name), we ate very well, excellent dishes. The Charlot was recommended to me by friends; it had been a work colleague's favorite restaurant. That's why I wanted to try it out when I visited Frankfurt a few days ago. And as a result, I was extremely disappointed, without meaning to be. Apparently this location seems to be the very best Italian restaurant in all of Frankfurt - and offers first-class food... But I didn't see any food on site. What I immediately noticed: Many people obviously run to this place because of its location right next to the Alte Oper. I understood this straight away. Due to the sunny weather, tons of tourists wanted to sit outside... But I didn't want that; It was just too hot outside for me that day and unpleasantly loud at all the outside tables. There are also no trees outside that could have provided any shade - so the place heated up extremely quickly. Parasols were folded up. At the bar, I asked at the counter right behind the front door where I could sit down in the restaurant - or whether there was free seating in the restaurant. No clear answer. Instead, the innkeeper is only concerned with himself and all his colleagues - and only says something briefly like 'Wait here; someone will come soon that you can ask!'. But no one came. Instead, right next to me, who was standing there waiting, there were waitresses rushing in and out chatting with the innkeeper; I stood there pure as decoration or air. And wondered how a single table that had been occupied in the interior had even gotten this honor of sitting there. At first glance, I was shocked at the price when I looked at a menu laid out right next to the counter - because it was really incredibly expensive. All the dishes seemed to be between 30 and 40 euros... Price wise, nothing for small budgets; Low-income earners have to stay outside. But I still wanted to try the food there - it was supposed to be so great! I waited right there next to the counter for a solid 10 minutes for a waitress. I just kept seeing waitresses running in and out - and talking to the landlord right next to me... Nobody cared that there was someone else in here who wanted food and advice. After these 10 minutes nothing had happened - and I was still being treated like air - I left very quickly, extremely frustrated... I had received nothing during my stay at the Charlot - neither to eat nor to drink; a friendly introduction to a table or answers to the simplest questions. Nothing. It may be an advantage at this location to reserve a seat in advance - I didn't do that... But I had read in other reviews here on Google that even people who had reserved seats didn't automatically get food. So they had to wait quite a long time for the food. I did not receive any food at this location. Instead, I only experienced completely overwhelmed waitresses - and a service that didn't treat me as a guest... Due to this extremely devastating experience, I will not visit this otherwise really beautiful place again in the future when I take a city trip to Frankfurt. So apologies for this really harsh criticism - but if you just leave me standing in the rain in the interior of a restaurant, you simply can't expect anything better from me as a potential guest. By the way, the interior was very nicely designed from a visual point of view... But due to the situation I was in, I wasn't able to enjoy it in peace and relaxation. I can't comment on the food because I didn't get any food or drink. That's why one star each for service and ambience - and none for food. What a shame!

Mirko and Donato were wonderful, very professional and attentive. The food was delicious and Vegan just as we requested. The problem was the pricing of the food which was unfortunately very expensive for what it was. My baked sweet potato was around 27 euros, VERY expensive. If priced appropriately we would gladly give a 5 star rating.

We reserved a table at 8:30 p.m. and showed up at 8:18 p.m. The table was free, but not yet prepared. This only happened 10 minutes after the ordered time. The highlight was that we had to wait more than an hour for the food. We didn't feel like having dessert anymore. Absolutely overpriced for the service, food rather uninteresting.

Experience: poor! 1. we ordered 2 prosecco: they forget! 20 minutes after order they served them finally 2. after second course we asked for the menu for desert. We had to asked again after 20 minutes!! 3. the food was good but nothing special! The prices were much to high! they were on the level of a two star Michelin restaurant but the quality was of a average bistro.

Charlot is a fantastic restaurant that impresses with its stylish atmosphere and first-class cuisine. The dishes are creative, excellently prepared and tasteful. The service was attentive and warm, which made the visit particularly pleasant. Our dog was also welcome, which made the stay even more relaxing. A place that you will definitely remember and visit again!

Wir waren am 30.11. mit 4 Personen zum Abendessen um 18.30 Uhr dort. Wir erhielten einen sehr beengten Sitzplatz nahe der Küche. Der Tisch war noch nicht eingedeckt, trotz vorheriger Reservierung. Es befanden sich auch noch Krümmel auf dem Tisch. Es herrschte ein sehr hektisches Treiben der Kellner. Die Qualität der Speisen war bestenfalls unteres Mittelmaß und extrem überteuert. Wir können von diesem Restaurant nur abraten. Für 3 Vorspeisen, 1 Hauptgericht (zähe Rinderroulade mit Rotkohl und Kartoffelbrei) und 3 Glas abgestandenen Champagner, 1 Fl. Mineralwasser und 1 kleines Bier haben wir 310,00 Euro bezahlt. Für uns eine absolute Unverschämtheit.

Brutto locale cucina italiana ma solo di nome.piatti mal presentati molto unti.butatti al sorprese. Approfittano del prossimo che arriva adirettua ti fanno sedere nel altro ingresso ma e un altro locale a fianco sono d'accordi.i cameriere marocchino nn parla solo due parole .in più nn ti danno il resto. Pesce vecchio.carne nera.rucola appassita.mai più Stati al larga c'è di meglio.

Ich lebe in F und bin dort mit meinem Besuch aus Belgien hingegangen. Eigentlich wollten wir schnell ein Wasser und Café trinken. Nach einer Wartezeit von 45 Minuten haben wir es aufgegeben und sind (trotz gezahlter Rechnung von ca. 27€) einfach gegangen. Service war das schlechteste das ich seit langem gesehen habe. Die Bedienung (überwiegend Männer) hatten absolut keine Freude an der Arbeit, das hat man ihrem Gesichtsausdruck und Umgang mit den Gästen bemerkt. Unfreundlich ohne Ende! Nie wieder!!!

Aufdringliche Bedienung ohne Distanz mit unübersichtlich vielen Kellnern und Kellnerinnen ohne minimalem persönlichen Kontakt, ohne Rücksicht aufs Wohlbefinden, wenn ständig die Tür offengelassen wird bei bereits deutlich kalten Außentemperaturen. Eingebildet überhöhte Preise für ein simples Ossobucco.

Ate linguine a la carbonara that was drowned in cream sauce and came with strips of boiled ham instead of bacon. The parmesan was piled up around the mound of pasta and had little flavor. I was then charged €30.90 for this. I will avoid this restaurant in the future.

I don't know if it was because we didn't meet the desired audience, but the service was extremely unfriendly! No idea if it was personal, but the highlight is that the waiter cheated a €100 “tip” (for a total of €400) onto the bill! Guess that this is also an attempt to rip off business people and tourists...

Bad service, especially a waiter who seems out of place here. The bearded, middle-aged gentleman of Arab origin overshoots the mark. I don't expect the bland attempt with inappropriate humor to only recommend the most expensive dishes in order to get a higher tip in an upscale atmosphere. It's a shame because it's actually a good restaurant

I asked if it was ok to have a quick coffee. There were many empty tables. I was told "Yes, so long as you suck it up!" Fair enough. After a few minutes I went to pay my €6.90 bill by Visa. The waiter became aggressive because I had no cash. He then added €1.10 to my bill without asking, to cover his costs. I said he should ask me to do that, not add it without my permission. He then gave me €2 cash, then grabbed it back out of my hand and remade the payment correctly. All the time moaning about his costs. He didn't know I was actually going to give him the 5 euros I had in cash, for the inconvenience. He said next time, i need to bring more cash. But there won't be a next time. Unacceptable, unprofessional and rude behaviour. An uncomfortable experience. Avoid it.

At first I thought it was a hidden camera?! Rude waiter, waited 1 HOUR for food (store wasn't full) and then the chicken was missing from the Caesar salad and the waiter was annoyed when you asked him about it. In the end we wanted to pay by card and the waiter simply typed in a tip of €100 (€500 instead of €400), which we of course noticed and corrected. INCREDIBLE ! Only the food was tasty but never again.

A positive attitude, the end result is drama. The advantage is when you get inside. The interior look is very nice. The first minus is the service, or at least the waiter who served me and my partner came up to us, threw down the menu and left, which was often the case when I was looking at the garden. We ordered 3 dishes. When we finally got our food- pasta was relatively good but meat is a joke. The portion is small and poor quality. There is clearly a lack of leadership because instead of working, the employees stood there and talked. Not recommended.

Unzureichende Qualität Spontan entschied ich mich eine Pinsa als Snack zum Mittag. Was ich erhielt war ein labbriges Stück Teig zugedeckt mit fetten Mozzarella als Verzierung zwei Kirschtomaten. Der Preis betrug stolze 19,90 Euro. Auf meinen Hinweis dass ich mit der Qualität nicht zufrieden sei, erhielt ich von einem jungen Ober, der der deutschen Sprache nicht mächtig, mir zu verstehen gab, dass ich der einzige Gast mit einer Reklamation sein. Ich erhielt weder eine Entschuldigung noch ein Angebot für eine Wiedergutmachung Würde das Restaurant aufgrund dieser Erfahrung weder empfehlen aber auch selbst nicht noch einmal besuchen wollen. Zusammengefasst Überteuerte schlechte Qualität gepaart mit schlechtem Service.

We've been there a few times, as it's right around the corner. The quality of the food ranges from good to "okay." Unfortunately, the service is just average, as is the ambiance. Overall, it's just too mediocre, and the prices are too high. It doesn't quite fit.

Warning: Racist and Unfriendly Behavior of an Employee We visited this restaurant today and were very disappointed. The food was poor value for money and overall disappointing. We were particularly disturbed by an older employee who was very unfriendly and aggressive from the start. Even at reception, we heard him whisper to a colleague, "Ugh, damn Chinese people." This racist and discriminatory remark is absolutely unacceptable. Throughout our visit, this employee continued to be very rude and dismissive, making us feel distinctly excluded – apparently because of our (perceived) origin. This man's behavior overshadowed our entire experience. The other employees, in contrast, were friendly. Nevertheless, this incident remains an extremely unpleasant experience that we will not soon forget. We sincerely hope that the restaurant takes this situation seriously.
