L'Osteria in Frankfurt am Main

It was quite busy Friday evening at 7 p.m., but there was plenty of room outside. No one came to ask us anything. We were apparently nonexistent. After waiting 20 minutes, we simply left. What terrible service.

Nice place, especially the garden where you are surrounded by plants and trees. Such a nice break from the city landscape. The pizzas are huge and tasty! The staff is friendly and fast! Definitely recommend it!

Everything was great, as always at Losteria, although I have to say this was the first Losteria where the service wasn't so friendly; everyone seemed a bit annoyed. But overall, it was great. Finding the restroom was a bit like going to the backroom, but I think it's currently under construction.

Friendly staff, but... 1. Tiny portions, except for the pizza. This one has a 5cm crust. 2. Really long wait times every time. 3. Loud, uncomfortable atmosphere. 4. Far too expensive for what's offered.

Pizzas are tasty, but soft drinks are not served in bottles. There is no air conditioning, so it is not comfy

Very good food Well located L'Osteria is an Italian restaurant chain with many fine dishes. The extremely large pizzas are particularly noteworthy! (exceeding the edge of the plate)

I deducted one point from the service rating, as it might be frustrating for Koreans accustomed to fast-paced service. Still, the pizza, pasta, wine, and local sensibility were excellent, so I highly recommend it if you're near the Main River. I arrived in Germany and checked in, and immediately had a Margherita, Aglio Olio, and wheat beer, which were heavenly.

Bad experience. Very unfriendly hostess, no hospitality whatsoever. We received a rude welcome and felt unwelcome – absolutely disappointing. The Croatian waiter was extremely unfriendly. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place to eat with your family and children. Unfortunately, I could choose zero stars. Very poor treatment of children.

The atmosphere was really good. If you order a pizza, I'd rather order only half a pizza because they're so huge. The restrooms are very clean.

I was in Frankfurt and fancied a pizza. What I got here was not only a very good pizza, but also very competent and friendly service. I think the service is just as important as the food. The food here deserves 5 stars; unfortunately, I can't give more stars, otherwise the service would have earned 10. I would especially like to mention the gentleman with the long, tied-back hair. He caters to customers' requests, is very personable, and makes the overall experience a wonderful memory.

Lorena served us very well and gave us excellent advice on the food. She was very friendly and we would be happy to return.

Everything was fine, except for the pizzas. They were more focused on quantity than quality. Huge pizzas, but absolutely flavorless. The sparse toppings lacked salt and seasoning. As a result, all five pizzas we ordered tasted very bland. The lack of salt in the dough didn't contribute to the overall flavor.

The food was delicious and the ambiance was perfect. The Italian restaurant, with its giant pizzas, is also highly recommended, especially considering the price.

Unfortunately, I have to say: L'Osteria isn't a one-time slip-up – the negative experiences repeat themselves with every visit. You generally wait at least 20 minutes just to be allowed to order. The staff seems constantly overworked, annoyed, and often even unfriendly – even simple inquiries, such as whether you can finally order, are met with visible displeasure. It's particularly regrettable that this negative mood seems to be coming from above: Even the manager himself seems consistently irritable and uninviting. Unfortunately, there's no mention of hospitality, warmth, or a feeling of being welcomed here. This is particularly disappointing because the L'Osteria concept actually offers a lot of potential. The only positive exception is Benjamin. He is the only waiter who is consistently friendly, attentive, and committed to providing good service – despite the difficult circumstances. His commitment is truly commendable and often remains the only bright spot during a visit. As long as nothing fundamental changes in the way guests are treated and the organization, I unfortunately cannot recommend a visit.

Great location and super friendly service team!

Those are the ones with the ginormous pizzas 😳 We ate a pizza and a salad. The pizza was hot and the salad was crispy. I liked that you could dress your own salad; they provided oil and vinegar, pepper (with a grinder), and salt on the table. The service was very friendly and kept asking if everything was okay. You could sit outside or inside. We sat outside. It was quiet, and the Main River was just a stone's throw away. You can pay with cash or card. We liked it there and would love to stop by if we're in the area again.

This was my third time visiting L’Osteria Frankfurt and once again, the food was excellent! The pizza here is absolutely amazing. This time, we ordered the half-and-half pizza option, and I chose BBQ Chicken it was super juicy, flavorful, and just delicious! 😋 The quality is consistently high, the staff was friendly, and the atmosphere very enjoyable. I definitely recommend this pizzeria on the Zeil especially if you’re looking for a big, crispy, yet juicy pizza. Highly recommended! 🍕

Never had a worse pizza in Germany than this one! So crazy, 0 flavor, not even the cheese had any flavor. It's embarrassing when even pizza from a pizza vending machine or those weird frozen things taste better than "freshly made pizza" from Losteria.

Everything about our visit was perfect — from the welcoming staff (especially Leroy) to the amazing food. Leroy gave us great recommendations, and every dish was delicious. We came to celebrate a birthday, and when I asked if they could bring out a dessert and sing, Leroy told me he had already planned to surprise us with tiramisu after the meal. That thoughtful touch made the night even more special. Highly recommend this place!

I'm currently in Lostaria for the second time, and it's amazing again! The food is amazing. The area is amazing, and the people are really cool.

The pizza was huge, but the toppings were thin. The pasta was OK. Even though the restaurant wasn't full, the wait was endless, and out of six meals, each one came about 20 minutes apart. The Frankfurt restaurant doesn't serve apple wine, but they do serve Bavarian beer!

Since I'd had enough pizza the day before, I ordered a lasagna. Unfortunately, it was only average and way too expensive for 15 euros.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay in Frankfurt. We chose to eat here for 3 of those nights,and wish we`d done so more often. The food was simply magnificent, and the portions more than adequate. The standard of service we found to be quite exceptional, with a LOT of attentive staff always prowling the large indoor and outdoor tables. The choices on the menu were more than sufficient and the speed food was delivered was impressive for such a big establishment. On our third night (our last in Frankfurt), we were seated across from the guys making Pizzas and were fascinated by their speed and efficiency. Although the Pizzas looked lovely,and were an impressive size,we ordered pasta each time and were delighted with our choices all three nights. Their dessert selection was not extensive but was impressive..We both had Spaghetti ice cream the first night, and my girlfiend ordered that the next two times, while I had their magnificent Gellato.... There was never any doubt that we`d choose to have our last meal in Frankfurt here (Our last visit - Saturday,19/07/25) and we loved every second of it... We cannot praise this restaurant highly enough.... 10/10 Gold Star all the way!

The staff are always very friendly. The food tastes just like you'd expect from an osteria. The portion sizes vary depending on the dish; some are quite large, others perhaps a bit too small. I deduct a bit of the ambiance from my rating, as it's simply too loud for me, which gives it a cafeteria feel. Overall, though, I'm very satisfied.

A restaurant belonging to the L'Osteria chain, with its famous giant pizzas. Located in Frankfurt's Westhafen area, we ate dinner inside. The food quality was as good as usual, but unfortunately, the restaurant was extremely noisy, even though it was quite full. It was difficult to understand the person speaking.

I actually come here quite often with my family. The food is very delicious, but unfortunately, I'm very disappointed with our southern-speaking waiter. We were greeted warmly, but when we ordered, our food suddenly came with toppings we didn't want at all. They simply sold us something we didn't want. It's a shame. No apology either. You've lost us as customers.

This L'Osteria in Frankfurt's Westhafen district has the most beautiful location of all the L'Osteria restaurants I've visited so far. There was a special offer until 3:00 PM. A selection of salads or pasta dishes with a 0.3l drink for €11.95, or pizza with a drink for €14.95. The three of us ladies also took advantage of it and were satisfied with the value for money. It could have been more attractively decorated. However, we received very friendly service. Reservations are always best here, too. There's a time slot of 1.5 hours.

L'Osteria is a chain where you don't really have to judge the taste. The service was very stressed; you can just tell there are too few staff and too many customers. But one thing is absolutely unacceptable: The team leader (I assume he coordinates the waiters) belittled another colleague in an inappropriately loud voice in front of everyone. That's humiliating for these people! A colleague should feel appreciated; after all, we work together. This situation was extremely unpleasant for the person involved, and it wasn't pleasant for the guests to watch or hear either. I don't want to judge; perhaps it's just the stress of the job, and the team leader was having a bad day, which is why he lost his temper. Perhaps he's actually a very nice person, or maybe he's a hothead. Nevertheless, it might help management if they read this review and realize that it's not just about the food or the ambiance, but also about the way the employees work together. This could give food for thought as to whether the modalities are correct and whether the staff shortage might be exacerbating the situation.

Super delicious food, large portions, and a cozy atmosphere. What I particularly liked was the service. I had a brief conversation with a small, very friendly Vietnamese woman. She was warm, attentive, and had a real feel for the guests. Anyone who works or has worked in the restaurant industry knows how valuable something like that is. I'll definitely be back!

Just passing through to go to the Linkin Park concert. The truth is that they treated us extremely politely and even engaged us in conversation. The food was good, the tempo was right. The price-quality ratio was decent.

The restaurant is easy to find and offers plenty of seating. Unfortunately, the staff couldn't keep up with orders, etc., when the place was almost completely full. Our drinks were mistakenly delivered to another table, and if we hadn't said anything, they probably would never have arrived. The pizzas are very large, but ours weren't in the oven long enough, so the dough still tasted of flour, especially around the edges. Nevertheless, the pizzas tasted okay. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer quite right; you can often no longer afford it.
