We really enjoyed our stay and had a lovely time. We ordered lasagna and pasta – the portions were large, my wife couldn't finish it all, so we took some of the pasta home. The prices were also reasonable.

I'm always a bit skeptical of non-Italian-run pizzerias. In this case, my skepticism was completely unfounded. The food was delicious, the service very friendly, perhaps a little unprofessional, but they were clearly trying hard to ensure the guests had a pleasant evening.

I absolutely love this Italian restaurant! I’ve tried so many dishes here — the Tortellini Prosciutto, Penne all’Amatriciana, Pizza Capricciosa, Pizza Luna Rossa, etc. — and every single one has been delicious. You can really taste the quality and freshness in every bite. The flavors are authentic, and everything is cooked perfectly. I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, and I’ve loved it all! The service is always friendly, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Highly recommend this place.

I visited this restaurant some time ago when it was still under the previous Italian ownership, and to be honest, the experience was quite unpleasant back then—the owner was rude and even refused to let me use the restroom once in an emergency, which left a really bad impression. However, my recent visit under the new Indian management was a completely different experience—in the best way! The new management is incredibly friendly, accommodating, and professional. The staff are polite, attentive, and make you feel truly at home from the very first moment. On my last visit, I tried the new creation—the Neapolitan pizza—and was honestly delighted with the taste and quality. I even made a few special requests, which the team perfectly executed—exactly as I had hoped. The dough was soft yet crispy, the sauce flavorful, and the toppings fresh and balanced. The quality of the food has improved tremendously, and the overall atmosphere feels much warmer and more inviting. It's truly amazing to see such a positive change. I'm really happy to now recommend this place—excellent service, delicious food, and a wonderful new team!

I was at Nuovo Luna Rossa yesterday and I'm absolutely thrilled! The new team is doing an excellent job – the food was truly delicious, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. I was here once before in 2022, when the restaurant was run by an Italian couple, and unfortunately, it was very different back then – the place wasn't very clean, the staff was unfriendly, and the prices were overpriced. Now everything is perfect! The restaurant is clean, the staff is super friendly, and the prices are very reasonable compared to before. The pizza is truly one of the best in all of Dresden! Congratulations to the new team – keep up the great work! 👏🍕🇮🇹

Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. Not a true Italian restaurant, but more of an attempt at one. The tomato soup was a greasy, lukewarm sauce, the bruschetta was carelessly prepared with raw tomatoes and too much Parmesan, the lasagna was dense and flavorless—everything tasted the same. The "espresso" was just a weak coffee. Friendly, yes, but that didn't save the food. Far too expensive for this quality. Very disappointing.

We visited the Nuova Luna Rosso pizzeria in Dresden and were unfortunately disappointed overall. While the staff were friendly and the food beautifully presented, the taste was hardly impressive. The tomato soup was more like a thick sauce, very greasy, and lukewarm. The bruschetta consisted of unseasoned, finely diced tomatoes with far too much Parmesan cheese – no comparison to a true Italian version. The lasagna was far too dense, almost just dough, and tasted of the same sauce as the soup. The salad was mediocre. The espresso at the end turned out to be a weak coffee, unfortunately. The only positive thing was the friendly service, although not everyone spoke German very well. Overall, the value for money was not at all good – it was clearly too expensive for the quality offered. Unfortunately, there was no Italian flair here.

Update 2025: Luna Rossa used to be our favorite local restaurant with a pleasant, family-friendly atmosphere. Unfortunately, it has declined considerably recently – before and since the change of ownership. Depending on the website, you'll find different opening hours (thelunarossa.de daily from 11:00 AM to 10:30 PM, italia-dresden.de closed Mondays, Tues - Thurs 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Fri - Sun 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM, via Google Maps Fri - Sun 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM, Mon - Thurs 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, supposedly updated 9 weeks ago). Online reservations via thelunarossa.de via the link on the homepage above. Reservations are only possible from 6:00 PM, below (under "write us" for any time, even outside of opening hours – reservations then result in a server error anyway). These conditions certainly dampen the anticipation of the visit (and why does the new (?) website of a restaurant in DD-Gruna, a hotspot neither for tourists nor for foreign students or researchers, have to be exclusively in English (apart from a few forgotten German snippets)?). We still found a seat easily – at a table with significantly soiled tablecloths, which the young waiter readily replaced with a clean, completely crumpled one. The dirty ones then remained in the dining room for our entire stay. Drinks: The two glasses of wine (red wine in a white wine glass, white wine in a cocktail(?) glass) were served quickly, but our guests (and thus we too for the toast) had to wait quite a while for the two bottled drinks (beer, cider), even though only one other table was occupied besides ours. The quality of the food was okay, and napkins were even provided for two of the four guests. It's a shame, but we'll probably take a cautious look at the direction this once so hospitable restaurant is taking in a year or two at the earliest. 2022: Delicious Italian food (be sure to try the salmon), a decent selection of drinks, even if it's not a specialty wine restaurant. The couple who run it have succeeded in creating a pleasant, family-friendly atmosphere. Perfect for a relaxing evening... or two... or even...

"This restaurant is an absolute gem! From the moment I entered, I was impressed by the warm atmosphere and the friendly welcome from the staff. The service was first-class—attentive, warm, and prompt, without ever feeling rushed. The food was outstanding; each dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. We ordered a spaghetti aglio pizza, penne pesto, carpaccio di manzo, and a mista salad. Everything was truly fantastic and delicious. The music was a bit loud at first, but was immediately turned down upon our request. We spent over four hours in the restaurant and felt completely at home. It's rare to find a restaurant that truly gets everything right—ambience, food, and service. It's also a great place for larger groups and families. We'll definitely be back!

Unfortunately, the previous Italian owners have given up the business. The decor has been completely taken over by their successors, who speak rather poor German (except for the Italian music). The menu has effectively been reduced to simple pasta and pizza. The exquisite dishes and Italian highlights such as vitello tonato, risottos, and all seafood dishes have been lost without replacement. The carbonara and the pizzas were good, however, the lasagna was no good. We were very full, overall it was delicious, and we had a pleasant evening, thanks in part to the very friendly service. However, I wouldn't be surprised if the reviews tend to drop in the future.

I visited the restaurant yesterday with my boyfriend. Since I like chicken dishes, I asked for a chicken pizza. Although it wasn't on the menu yet, they'll be introducing it soon—and they made one for me anyway. It was absolutely fantastic, with large chicken cubes—I've never had anything like it in Germany. I was very pleased with the customer service. My boyfriend ordered a vegan pizza, which was also delicious. Finally, we tried the panna cotta, and it was truly delicious.

Hey everyone, that was a really special little powder, and we weren't at a techno party. *wink* wink* Anyway, I don't know if it was the time, but I think an Italian should be perfectly capable of making tomato soup without any additives. Not to mention the pasta. Tasted exactly like tomato soup - unfortunately, no picture available - when the sweetie, quote, "completely ripped my partner out of existence," it went straight down the drain. But the delivery was surprisingly fast.

I do not recommend this restaurant. I went there once and will definitely not return. There were ants on the tables, and the cleanliness left a lot to be desired. Management did not respond to my complaint at all. The staff was rude. I cannot recommend this restaurant!

The food was actually delicious and nicely presented. The pizza was quite greasy. The waiter who served us had some trouble taking our order. We ordered a kids' tuna pizza without onions and got a large pizza with onions. The food arrived at our table fairly quickly. The ambiance is OK, but nothing more. Lots of pictures and a few plants... I personally find the ceiling fans unpleasant. It's small but quiet. All in all, it's an OK restaurant, but nothing more.

My favorite place in Dresden for good pizza. Pizza Diabola is the crème de la crème. And the affogato is a true paradise. Dieting is impossible with this place :)

Leider können wir dieses Restaurant nicht bewerten, sind zum Abendessen gekommen und mussten unverichteter Dinge wieder gehen!!! Öffnungszeit Fr. 17.30 Uhr am 25.10.2024! Ausser uns wartete noch eine Familie die bestellt und auch eine Bestätigung bekommen hatte. Laut Aussage vom Nachbargeschäft hieß es...der kommt später..., fast kaum zu glauben bei dem Schloss was am Eingangstor hing! Nach einem kurzem Spaziergang, begaben wir uns dann zum mexikanischen Restaurant und haben sehr gut gegessen!!!

Wir waren sehr enttäuscht. Pizza matschig. Getränkepreise stimmten nicht mit der online Speisekarte überein. Bedienung war unhöflich. Auslegungen Speisekarte war schwarz ausgedruckt und sehr schlecht lesbar.

We once again had a lovely evening at Luna Rossa. The restaurant doesn't look that inviting from the outside - but from the inside it's nice and cozy! The selection of drinks and food is very good. We had a Pizza 4 Staggioni and the Tagliatelle Salmone Spinaci. The pizza was very good, the portion of pasta on the flat plate could have been a little larger! At the end there was still room for a Tartuffo Cioccolato😋 - that was outstanding, including the presentation! Thank you for the lovely evening!

Guten Abend, Ich habe am 31.03.2024 gegen 19 Uhr telefonisch eine Portion Spagetti carbonara zum mitnehmen bestellt, diese war auch sehr lecker bis auf das der extra bestellte Parmesan nicht drauf war. Jetzt leider zu meinen negativen Punkten. Zurerst ist die Adresse die bei Karten hinterlegt ist nicht aktualisiert und wir standen erstmal vor einem anderen Lokal ca 4 km entfernt. Beim Reinkommen in das typisch Italienische Restaurant wurde ich direkt recht unfreundlich gefragt ‚du hast die carbonara bestellt oder ?‘ Ich finde das ein Duzen in einem vornehmen Restaurants einfach nix zu tuhen hat und man sich so einfach nicht wohl und ernstgenommen fühlt. Die Carbonara ist außer Haus recht klein, 13 Kabeln voll was für eine Portion für 12.90 finde ich recht teuer ist. Die Verpackung könnte in diesem Preissegment auch etwas besser sein. Leider nicht sehr zu empfehlen Gerne können sie mich kontaktieren und ich schildere ihnen meinen Besuch. Mit freundlichen Grüßen Philipp Berger

We were guests on Valentine's Day. We really enjoyed it and you couldn't have eaten better on Valentine's Day. We got a table reserved very spontaneously... At first we were worried because we were the only ones, but within a very short time it became so full that some guests even had to wait for a free table... It would be good if there were customer parking spaces (if... available) signage and the restaurant behind the flower shop could be seen better, as we drove past it twice... We will definitely come back to this location

We were here for a birthday dinner. The staff were very friendly and took good care of us. The food was also very good. The only thing I would have liked was a little less spice on the pizza, but it was still tasty. We will definitely come back again.

So we had veal and beef, the veal was great but for a 300g beef steak for just over €30, I don't think you should expect any fat or tendons. It was fried to perfection. The smoking island could be a little tidier, but we smokers aren't quite as demanding. ;-) Very lovingly, peppered with some Italian subtleties. Wooden furniture, tablecloths and decorations, absolutely authentic and really fitting. Thank you for the lovely evening to the LUNA ROSSA team....

Das Restaurant schaut unscheinbar aus, aber das Essen war wirklich lecker und der Kellner sehr nett. Wir haben eine Pizza, eine Lasagne und Tortellini 4 Formaggi gegessen und alles drei war wirklich top! Da wir sehr Hunger hatten, haben wir Bruschetta und Pizza Pane als Vorspeise, was ebenfalls sehr sehr lecker war. Wir alle drei waren am Ende des Tages sehr satt und sehr zufrieden. Alles in allem waren wir rund um zufrieden und können das Restaurant sehr empfehlen!

KLEIN ABER FEIN!!! Dieses kleine, aber gemütliche Restaurant, kann ich nur empfehlen. Der Service kann nicht besser sein. Wurden freundlich und herzlich empfangen. Haben dort gestern Spaghetti Cabonara und Lasagne gegessen. Bei der Cabonara war die Soße schön cremig, die Lasagne war die beste die ich je gegessen habe. Wir kommen definitiv wieder. Wer einen guten und gemütlichen Italiener sucht, sollte ins Luna Rossa gehen.

Der Service war gut und schnell. Das Essen war teilweise etwas anders als gewohnt (zum Beispiel unterm Bruscetta war Pizzabrot), aber allen hat es gut geschmeckt. Leider gab es weder auf der Vorspeisenplatte, noch extra zu bestellen, Oliven... Sonst war aber alles in Ordnung.

Von außen etwas unscheinbar. Aber innen ist es sehr gemütlich. Küchenchef und Bedienung sind aufmerksam und sehr freeundlich. Es gab eine zur Jahreszeit passende Tageskarte - toll ausgewählt. Die Zusammenstellung, Wein, Vorspeise und Hauptgericht war sehr gut. Tagliatelle und Pizza sind zu empfehlen. Und wer noch kann, der sollte auch zum Dessert greifen- Top, vielen Dank. Zur Hauptspeisezeit sollte man um sicherzu gehen, einen Tisch reservieren. Telefonisch hat das nicht geklappt, aber wir waren früher da und alles war perfekt.

Problemlose Reservierung, netter Empfang. Für Jeden etwas auf der Karte, Alles schön angerichtet, schmeckt und ist reichlich. Der Unterschied zu den meisten Anderen: kompetente Beratung, hier kennt man sich mit den Produkten wirklich aus. Bald wieder.

Waren am Wochenende dass erste mal in diesem Restaurant. Als Vorspeise hatten wir einen Salat der sehr lecker geschmeckt hat. Als Hauptgang hatten wir Pizza bestellt und jeder war mit seiner Pizza sehr sehr zufrieden. Ein der besten Pizzen die ich je gegessen habe. Schöne Atmosphäre und freundliche Bedienungen. Großes Lob.
