A very good Italian restaurant in Erfurt, away from the tourist crowds.

The food was delicious. However, the olive oil was rather tasteless.

What can I say? Great location, superb service, outstanding food (we could hardly decide). I think the pictures confirm that. We'd love to come back. The house beer is also highly recommended. ;-)

Restaurant with a beautiful view of Erfurt. Spacious outdoor area with a small play area for children. Friendly service, but could be a bit more attentive. The food portions were okay, but the children's portion of pasta we ordered felt larger than the regular main course portion.

Great restaurant, we've been there twice while in Erfurt. They're super helpful, even with wheelchair ramps. The staff are so friendly.

Great view – but the service could be improved The restaurant's location is truly beautiful – the view over Erfurt from the terrace is unique. Unfortunately, the service didn't quite live up to the expectations: We had to wait quite a while for our order, even though not all tables were occupied. The food was okay, but for the price, we would have expected a bit more, especially for the side dishes. The atmosphere was a bit disorganized, and we felt the staff were overwhelmed. Overall: Great location, but there's room for improvement in the service and organization.

I can only warn against going there. We were there yesterday for a birthday party. First, the drinks. My father ordered a beer, decided while the waiter was still at the table, and expected something else. In the end, two drinks were brought and charged for! Absolutely unacceptable. Then we (7 people) were offered a shared appetizer platter. The food on it was good and there was more or less enough for everyone, but it still wasn't much, just a little of each, but it was very small. In the end, the SHOCK. We were sold this platter for a whopping €90, and we were completely shocked. TOTALLY OUTRAGEOUS to charge that much for such a small platter. After politely pointing it out, we were told that they were supposedly giving us a discount and the regular price was €150?! I've never heard of anything like that, and there were seven of us?! Who eats an appetizer at an Italian restaurant for €150, let alone €90?! So NEVER accept this platter. We won't be going there again. We're disappointed with the price/performance ratio. By the way, a main course was forgotten, and when packing the food, everything was thrown together, even though we asked for it to be packed separately. Service is really bad. They don't listen properly.

Food is just okay, nothing special. The tartar mango sucked. The staff is slow and not professionally trained. The views are nice though.

The ambiance gets 5 stars. The service seemed a bit lackluster, and the food was unfortunately only adequate. Two out of 5 stars. Unfortunately, we couldn't order pizza because the pizza maker wasn't there today. So we had pasta, which was okay, but nothing special. Overall, 3/5.

I wanted to go out for a nice lunch with a friend. But we were disappointed: There were a lot of flies in the restaurant, the waiter seemed very unfriendly and tired. Going to the restroom was disgusting, but it wasn't really sour there. The soap dispensers in the women's restroom were empty, and only one sink worked. The price-performance ratio was completely out of whack.

Conditional: The food was served with a significant delay, rather than together, for seven people. Although we had reserved for seven, the table was actually too small—one of us had to share a table with the parasol. Also, given the price, I would have appreciated a bit more creativity in the presentation. Overall, I felt uncomfortable with my guests, especially because the food was served at a considerable distance, so we couldn't start eating together. It's a real shame.

The ingredients on the pizza were forgotten, but they paid for them. The only solution: either return the money or pick up a new pizza. The pizza simply wasn't good because of the missing toppings.

The food was excellent, service was very good, the atmosphere was OK, and the prices were reasonable. Next time we'll be back in the summer, so we can sit outside; it will definitely be nice then. Update: We were there again on March 22, 2025, and were disappointed. Yes, I know, you're not supposed to eat schnitzel in a pizzeria, but we were hungry. It was a frozen schnitzel (horrible). The French fries were OK, but no side dish came with it, and therefore way too expensive. We could even sit outside, but that wasn't OK either, because everything was dirty and dingy, which, considering the restaurant wasn't that busy and the staff had plenty of time, isn't OK. Conclusion: "Never again." It's a shame, really, because the first visit was better.

Simply outrageously bad! We actually never wanted to set foot in this traditional Erfurt restaurant again after their political statement. Now we were invited to a family celebration and were forced to return, and were thoroughly disappointed. The Italian restaurant used to be quite decent, but that was before the coronavirus pandemic. I had the rump steak with arugula and burrata. It came with cherry tomatoes. The steak came as an unbreaded veal schnitzel, and the daily side dish mentioned on the menu was missing. When I asked, I was told that arugula and tomatoes were the daily side dish for the meat dish. All for a whopping 31 euros. It's strange that the steak strips on arugula and cherry tomatoes, which my wife had ordered, were also served without any side dish. But the side dish probably came with two more arugula leaves and a tomato. The fact that the unfinished drinks were cleared away without asking shows how much they value service there. Hospitality can be better. The final straw, however, was that the raspberries on the chocolate soufflé were moldy. Even a glass of wine on the house wouldn't help, unless you want to disinfect something. Extremely disappointing! Never again!

Nice restaurant, great ambience with a nice operator and friendly team. The kitchen is always worth a visit, we will definitely come back.

Medium sized and somewhat hidden restaurant compared to other Italian restaurants in the city. Great ambience with a great view over the city, especially from the beer garden. So far always nice staff, good and timely service and value for money, super tasty food. We'd love to come back.

The Pizzeria am Hopfenberg is one of my favorite restaurants in Erfurt. The pizzas are delicious and the staff is always friendly. Absolutely recommended!

Furchtbarer ABEND. Zuerst Tisch in eiskaltem Raum, dann nach Tischwechsel Tisch, an dem man nicht essen konnte. Dritter Tischwechsel in Raum, wo Family Party war, also laut ohne Ende. Essen sehr langsam. Essen allenfalls OK. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Esta tiene que ser una de las peores cenas que hemos tenido aquí. Reserva para seis, sin mesas, y nos sentaron en una sala de congelación, pedimos que nos trasladaran y nos trasladaron a un salón (igual de frío) para las 6 : 30 nos sentaron en el comedor (junto a una fiesta familiar muy ruidosa) pedimos agua para nuestro perro tres veces, la última la camarera me preguntó si tenía un cuenco que pudiera usar. 7 : 00 pm Nuestros aperitivos eran menos que mediocres. Finalmente tengo una botella de agua. 7 : 30 y todavía no han servido nuestra cena. NO RECOMIENDO ENCARECIDAMENTE ESTE RESTAURANTE POR MÁS TIEMPO.

Actually one of our favorite restaurants, the food is always great! Service so far too, today there were two of us with a reservation. However, it takes three hours for 2 glasses of wine, a bottle of water, a starter and two main courses and a dessert. It was busy, no question, but if you can't cover it with staff, you shouldn't accept so many guests. We could also observe at other tables that one person had nothing yet while all the other guests were finished. In my opinion, waiting almost 30 minutes for a crème brûlée is not possible. Nevertheless, the waitress was nice and apologized. My tip... It's better to come here during the week!

That was nothing. The service difficult. The food not that good. The salad was somehow brownish in color. No recommendation from me.

We were there in a larger group. The food was very, very tasty. No matter whether pizza or pasta. But the prices for the drinks were awesome. Don't know if something like that has to be the case. For a large bottle of water €12.50 and large non-alcoholic drinks €6.00. 😱😳 Some of the staff were completely overwhelmed and unable to collect properly. It would certainly be worth a visit again if you know there is nothing going on and the incompetent waitresses are free.

Went for dinner with 14 people. Staff very friendly. The food was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. The bottle of red wine we ordered was much more expensive than the bottle according to the menu. When asked, it was explained that it was better wine. It would have been very nice to have some information when ordering, but the aftertaste of bad advice remains.

We were there today with our friends - including 6 children aged 0-10. From the beginning we felt like we were unwanted. The service itself was friendly but slow. For me it's absolutely incomprehensible: our children played in the area behind the restaurant, which could be accessed through a glass door. The waiters were annoyed that the door was opened every now and then and locked the door without speaking to us or anything. EVEN THOUGH OUR CHILDREN WERE STILL OUTSIDE!!!!!! Absolute no-go! I'm still pissed. After we left relatively abruptly, the restaurant manager said that next time we should let them know that we have 'so many' children, then we could be scheduled into a separate room. I'm still speechless!

We had a Christmas party here. The service was very friendly, the food was ok, but the beer was changed every now and then and it just didn't taste good anymore. However, the house beer was good again.

We had dinner at Hopfenberg today on Boxing Day. The menu was extremely small. No supplements were shown. We then got the salmon we wanted. Unfortunately it wasn't cooked through, even though we specifically asked for it beforehand (previous bad experience). Add a few pieces of jacket potatoes and some broccoli. Overall a negative experience that will keep us away in the future. It's a shame, it used to be a good restaurant.

A great atmosphere with a wonderful view over Erfurt. A mega service, very accommodating and friendly. Glasses were constantly refilled. We had beef carpaccio, prawns and a wonderful caramelized goat cheese. Main courses were also a poem. I can only recommend a visit.

Keiner kochte bis jetzt schlechter! Von vorne, als Vorspeise die typischen Bruschetta - hier als besonderes Highlight mit trockenen Origano überschwemmt. Danach folgten Tagliatelle leicht scharf - mit mehr roten Chillies als Fleisch, was soll man sagen- bitte kein offenes Feuer nun. Tagliatelle mit Champions, Zucchini und Hähnchen in einer Sauce mit etwas zuviel Stärke versehen, dafür Zucchinis zum Suchen - Herz was willst Du mehr. Das vergessene Pizzabrot wurde quasi als Nachspeise serviert- echt schade, das hätte noch zumindest was werden können, aaber total versalzener geteilter Pizza Fertigboden übergossen mit hochwertigem Metro Olivenöl- stand zumindest am Tisch. Tja, mit Italienischer Küche hat das leider nichts zu tun. Schade. Die Servicekräfte können einen hier echt leid tun, denn diese sind durchweg freundlich- wenn auch bei Bestellannahme etwas schludrig. Wir kommen nicht mehr.

The food was delicious. However, we were there with 12 people and unfortunately the food was delivered mixed up. Some of them hadn't even received their starters yet and some of the main meals had already been delivered. 1 meal was completely forgotten. Apparently because the pizza ovens were too full. When it came to dessert, we thought everything would work out. Wrong thought. An ordered Kaiser Schmarrn was invoiced but not delivered. And it was insisted that the invoice was now printed out and that Kaiser Schmarrn should also be paid. All in all, food when it comes is very tasty. And you should look at the bill carefully.

In fact, I was invited there two more times by chance after that. The food and service were good both times. The volume inside was unpleasantly loud (also due to the music). Therefore on average 3/5. Essen ist ok, aber teuer. Der Service geht allerdings gar nicht. Iwie viele Kellner da, aber keiner hat eine Ahnung. Lächeln Fehlanzeige. Bestellungen werden immer wieder vergessen. Nach einer freundlichen Kritik bekommt man Beleidigungen als Antwort. Das ist echt unterirdisch. Wir waren nach mehreren Versuchen das letzte Mal da. The service can hardly be described as such. Rude, slow and unavailable. The dishes were piling up, the glasses were empty and it stayed that way for a while. The prawns that were served were almost mush, so they were definitely no longer fresh. After the main course, I ordered the cheese plate with honey and fresh fruit. I would have gladly given up this pleasure. It started with the order, the waiter didn't even know that this dish was on the menu, and the chef most likely didn't either. After a good 40 minutes, the order finally came when asked, but half of it was missing, "We don't have any fruit" and secondly, the cheese didn't go well with the honey. Half a Gorgonzola, a mountain of Gouda with pieces of pepper and 2 small crumbs of hard cheese were served. Thank you for the heartburn. Of course, the entire cheese plate was calculated. The ambience is probably the best thing about this place. We won't be coming back any time soon.

For the last time: We had pizza, mine was very tasty, but my friend's had way too much toppings and we couldn't finish it after less than half of it. Today: We arrived and got a seat outside. You have to say, the atmosphere is very nice and the beer garden is great. That was the highlight of today's visit, along with the bruschetta (which was just as good as last time). So the drinks came quickly, but we had to wait a relatively long time to get them. So and then at some point we ordered food. The appetizer came and then we were allowed to wait. Wait a very long time. We were allowed to watch other people get their food, even though they had entered the restaurant much later. Our table next door just wanted to pay and no one came. The appetizer plates weren't cleared away for at least 30 minutes after the meal and we were basically ignored like the table next door. At some point we got our plates of pasta and I have never eaten such bad salmon pasta. Normally I always find something good about food, but not this time. Carelessly loaded onto the plate, no salt, no pepper. We took the latter from the neighboring table; the waiter wouldn't have noticed if we had wanted it anyway. There were maybe three small pieces of salmon in the portion and one piece tasted like just thawed and unseasoned frozen salmon. From that point on I was further disappointed by my bad tasting food and I didn't eat it again. All in all we were very dissatisfied. This restaurant is a prime example of why you should simply cook at home. It's cheaper and in the end it tastes good too.

Schade, ich hätte mich gern direkt beim Hopfenberg Team bedankt, aber die Mail wird nicht gesendet ... Also auf diesem Wege vielen Dank für den schönen Abend, alles war sehr lecker der Service freundlich, schnell und umsichtig, wir haben wunderbar unter den alten Kastanien gesessen und hatten einen schönen Sonnenuntergang. Allen 17 hat's super gefallen, und das schon zum zweiten Mal. Vielen Dank und bis ganz bald in diesem Sommer Kathrin und Peter
