Ristorante Il Castello in Berlin

We received a very warm welcome and were able to choose a seat in the cozy fireplace room. The staff was very friendly, especially to the children. We enjoyed the food immensely, especially the pizza. To finish, we were served a tiramisu, which was on the house. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return. The beer garden is especially recommended when the weather is nice! There's even a small playground there.

This restaurant has a cozy and large garden.

There is no trace of Italian cuisine. Cheap balsamic vinegar is everywhere. One side dish for all types of dishes, be it fish, veal, lamb. A year ago it was still possible to eat, now it is the same only almost twice as expensive.

Mittags geschäftlich besucht, sehr gute Pizza mit Parmaschinken und Ruccola sowie Parmesan. Service war sehr freundlich und auf Zack. Für mittags gut besucht gewesen, wir haben uns wohlgefühlt. Gerne wieder!

When it's busy in summer, waiting times on the terrace are far too long! Unfortunately, no one cares about empty glasses or asks for further requests! Food continues to be at a very good level! Visit May 2025 See photo: Havelzander with asparagus, boiled potatoes and hollandaise sauce for just under €30! Extremely disappointing! Carelessly prepared, no greens, completely unseasoned and the hollandaise was more reminiscent of vanilla sauce! Overall, unworthy of a restaurant! It's a shame because we know they can do much better! Wrong drinks were brought several times, which were also on the bill. Hope for next time.

I was very impressed by the friendly way in which guests are approached here. The quality of the food is very good, although sometimes not so typically Italian and somewhat adapted to German tastes. You are greeted with a handshake and leave with a feeling of family reunion. The desire remains to definitely visit the restaurant again. Maybe in summer, the restaurant has a nice garden.

The team is friendly, the food tastes ok, but unfortunately we didn't tolerate it well. But they are very child-friendly.

We celebrated our mother's 81st birthday here. It was winter outside, there was a fire burning in the fireplace, the table was decorated with roses and lovingly set. The food a' la carte was very tasty and the hosts - as always - friendly and very accommodating. Thank you for the overall lovely evening!

We visited this small restaurant without prior appointment with 6 people in the early afternoon. It was empty so we were the only ones there. We were served quickly and friendly. As is well known, the food is a matter of taste and was too salty and the basic sauces, although different dishes always tasted the same. That was a real shame. The price is okay, but borderline for the food and drinks. A lot of the work is done with finished products, which isn't a bad thing, but then the price should be adjusted. The rooms are different but comfortable. Overall it was a nice afternoon It was really delightful that the waiter noticed that there was a birthday child (adult) there. The birthday child received a sweet dessert on the house. Sweetly presented with a sparkler and a serenade from the staff. Thank you very much for that 😍

We were invited to a 60th birthday party today. We were 22 people. The starter plates and main courses were all very tasty. The service fulfilled our every wish very quickly and it was simply great Evening at the Ristorante Castello. Thanks to the whole team for the nice evening.

Had a lavish buffet at the Christmas party for 80 people

Wir haben unsere Weihnachtsfeier von Arbeit aus hier verbracht. Kellner waren nett und haben ihre Arbeit gut gemacht. Einige Getränke, wie z. B. die Sprite waren ohne Kohlensäure. Bruscetta übersalzen und bei vielen war das Brot kaum angeröstet. Lasagne geschmacklich ok, war aber schon in Stücke geschnitten. Warum? Außerdem wirklich eine Kinderportion. Ich würde nicht noch mal hingehen.

I'm sorry that I have to write this review now and get my lawyers and the health department involved. After the last two visits I had a gastrointestinal infection, the first time it was so bad that I had to go to the hospital. I didn't think anything of it, but the second time it was almost as bad as the first time. The food can taste good, but not at the expense of my health. I know that a negative review could result in loss of customers, but I just want to warn people. Give the store a wide berth.

I don't really want to give a star for the guesthouse. Very unpleasant smell in the hallways. The bathroom is dingy and the hairdryer still exists. No bedside lamps in the room and there wasn't enough neat and uniform bed linen either.

As always, the food was great. Unfortunately we were not informed of the price of a small appetizer that was heavily advertised to us. I really don't think 50 € for a small, manageable starter plate is that great, I ordered 2. Because of this misleading I can only give 1 star, it was a real rip off.

Whether in summer or winter, whether in the beer garden or in the fireplace room...it's always nice at El Castello

The food was good, the prices were very reasonable and the service was great, especially very friendly and fond of children. Our children like to go and donate, but even then the waiters kept an eye on it (and so did we, of course). The Fassbrause was different from what we know from Saxony. I don't know if there is no red Fassbrause in Berlin, but the children still enjoyed it. The atmosphere was a bit untidy and not necessarily loving. The children's chair we received was still stuck from the previous child...

We actually wanted to eat inside but were then persuaded to eat outside. The smokers outside bothered us and filled us with smoke while we ate. The food was too bland for us and, in our opinion, too little salt. The service was very nice and brought the food promptly and correctly. The beer and shandy were consistently warm, but were exchanged without any problems. I don't think we will come back again because the food was too tasteless for us.

Wir waren heute in dem Restaurant. Positiv, sehr schöner Biergarten wo man gut sitzen kann. Negativ: Wir hatten Kalbleber und Steak bestellt. Als Beilage gab es TK Gemüse, was natürlich geschmacklich sehr zu wünschen übrig ließ. Die Kartoffeln waren ebenfalls Fertigkartoffeln, wie man sie im Großhandel beziehen kann , d.h. geschält und vorgekocht. Die Leber hatte nur kurz die Pfanne gesehen. Kein bisschen knusprig, wie man es eigentlich gewohnt ist. Das ganze zum Preis von 23,50 € , was nie und nimmer gerechtfertigt ist. Sorry einmal und nie wieder. So verliert ihr Kunden.

Had dinner there today. I'm just saying great prices for small portions. Rosemary potatoes without rosemary and bought ready-made. Vegetables were frozen and the salad that came with them consisted of a tomato and 3 stalks of arugula. The liver wasn't fried properly and there was no proper sage butter. Guys, avoid this place if you are demanding of your food and want something for your money.

Oh my godness. The supermarket with the frozen pizza was so close... In short: please avoid the store, otherwise the restaurant will “feed” even more naive guests. Bored liveried people take the order incorrectly and then serve poor quality food late. The “playground” for the children is a storage area for discarded restaurant equipment and sharp-edged children’s toys that have been broken for decades. There is less risk of injury on the BSR.

Wir waren im Biergarten mit 30 Personen, von nachmittags bis spät abends. Durchgehend guter Service, obwohl viele Gäste. Preis- Leistung seit Jahren sehr gut. Die Kellner sehr umsichtig, hilfsbereit, erfüllen ohne zögern Extrawünsche und tragen sogar die vielen Geschenke und Blumen bis zum Auto. Kinder sind herzlich willkommen. Die Schaukeln für die Kinder sind einsehbar und die ausgemalten Bilder werden bewundert. Unter den Kastanien überdachte Abschnitte. Die Tische stehen nicht zu eng, damit ist es möglich in lockerer Atmosphäre zu plaudern oder sich zu bewegen.

Ambiance outside really cozy. Food was okay. There are better Italians, but it was quite good. Service took a bit of a long time and ordered starters only arrived after the main courses had already been served.

The employees who brought drinks and food were very nice, even if our food was swapped with the neighboring table at first. The gentleman who took the order, however, was rather unsympathetic. We also had to wait a long time for the bill! The food was ok, but unseasoned.

The IL CASLELLO in Berlin-Buch gives the place a beautiful example of Italian cuisine. The inn, the former SCHLOSSKRUG, was also the destination of Theodor Fontane when he organized his trip in 1860. This is reminiscent of the chapter “Book” in his “Walks through…” today FONTANE ROOM at IL CASTELLO.

Ambience very nice. But be careful here, the money will be wrong. Much to the detriment of the guest. Waiter so-so. The food could not be enjoyed because the pizza was burnt. Baguettes were not assembled. Very sad for me, as that was my restaurant in Eastern times (Schloßkrug)

We were there last year - now I finally thought of writing a review. The food was not homemade; my husband could even see the impressions of the packaging under his dessert. The waiter wasn't very friendly at the time and took the order way too quickly and didn't even get everything we wanted to order. The portion sizes are a joke considering the prices and quality. It wasn't clean back then either. We were there once and never again.

We ordered three pizzas to take away and my kids are picking them up. After looking at the receipt we brought with us, between 1 and 2 euros more were deducted for each pizza than the price on the menu. I called the restaurant and was greeted with “it’s a new menu”. After asking when the prices of the “new” card would be adjusted, they immediately hung up. What a shame, I've ordered there for many years but this time will definitely be the last

The food is good, but not overly great. But it's not a luxury Italian restaurant with luxury prices. For the incredibly low prices, more than recommended! In the next room there are beautiful white tablecloths and a fireplace, which makes everything look very chic and cozy. If you just order pasta, the food comes faster than you can imagine. After work, you can quickly grab something tasty and cheap to eat here! We come here regularly and we really recommend it!

Service so-so. The bruschetta was excellent, but after that the performance curve went down a lot. I had a calzone and something was missing. Well crafted but without taste. My wife had the rump steak, which was very tough and tasteless. After the meal, there was suddenly no service staff to be found, so we left disappointed at some point. It's a shame, we would have definitely had a drink or dessert

The dinner was delicious for all guests. Something like this rarely happens. There were enough parking spaces. There is also a bus stop in front of the door. I will visit Castello again when I have an occasion. greetings Uwe

Food very nicely prepared. Quality very good and really tasteful. Unfortunately the portion size is too small. Service from both waiters was really top. Prices are ok too. If we hadn't gone to the toilet I would give it a 4.5, but unfortunately it's just 3 stars. Completely worn out, not clean on the men's side; and for the ladies, to put it in my wife's words: shockingly dirty. It's a real shame, because otherwise it was fine.
