Absolutely outrageous! As promised, we were given a table from 7:30 to 9:00, BUT: Everyone had to place at least two orders (appetizer and main course). In addition, the four of us ordered a bottle of wine, bringing the total bill up to around €280. After 50 minutes, we were asked if we wanted dessert. When we declined, we were immediately presented with the bill and asked to leave (in layman's terms: since you're not going to leave any more money, you're no longer welcome). Then came the surprise: the bill included an additional €3.50 per person for a cover charge! Are you kidding me? We're paying to eat off your plates?! The price-performance ratio is abysmal, and the arrogance is completely unjustified. I hope every reader of this review is deterred from wasting their money there.

The food at Galleria is truly excellent. The dishes are beautifully presented and taste fantastic. There's absolutely nothing to criticize there. So why only 3 stars? We were very irritated by the rule that you have to order at least two dishes per person. I've rarely encountered such a requirement and don't find it fair to the guests – especially if you're only lightly hungry or want to focus on one main course. Since the prices are already on the high side (starters around €28, main courses around €40), this mandatory policy makes the visit disproportionately expensive and dampens the atmosphere. It's a shame, because the kitchen really deserves more.

There were three of us, and we chose the surprise menu, which was, as always, excellent. The team is incredibly friendly, the service attentive, and the atmosphere very pleasant. I've been here four or five times now, and it's been consistently top-notch every single time. Consistently high quality, fantastic food, and a friendly team. Highly recommended!

We opted for the five-course tasting menu to enjoy a pleasant evening with friends and good food. Interestingly, it took several inquiries before any consideration was given to allergies or preferences for the surprise menu, such as fish, meat, or vegetarian options. Wine pairing was not available; wine was only offered by the glass, in small or large bottles. After the aperitif, we were repeatedly asked to order wine with each course, which we declined given the lack of wine pairing and the limited selection of wines to complement the surprise menu. Besides, we simply didn't want to drink that much wine. And, to be honest, after the sixth request, we reluctantly ordered. We ended up with two large bottles of water (9 EUR each!) and three glasses of Prosecco. The dishes were nicely presented and looked appealing, but the taste was underwhelming. The pasta with squid was unremarkable, the carbonara variation was interesting, and the tortellini filling was very bland. The breaded fish on mashed potatoes was good, but overall very ordinary. Compared to other Italian restaurants in this price range and with similar fine dining offerings, it was not very convincing. It seems they're pushing the Michelin recommendation to the absolute limit. The service was very unfriendly and pushy; the staff complained about us in Italian (my friend is Italian and understood perfectly well what was being said). A shame. We still had a good conversation, though.

Our visit was a complete disappointment. The waiter was extremely unfriendly and made sarcastic comments in Italian – and yes, we understood every word. This behavior was disrespectful, unprofessional, and simply inappropriate. The ambiance was dreary, the heating was broken in the middle of winter, so we froze at the table. The food was mediocre at best and definitely not worth the money. Overall, the restaurant feels like a typical tourist trap, far from offering good quality. I'm certain of one thing: never again – and I wouldn't recommend it.

What a shame, we've had some lovely evenings there! Yesterday, however, we were disappointed 😕. The welcome was uncharming and cold. It's the little things that make an evening special in a restaurant of this price range—a complimentary appetizer, an espresso with a biscuit. All of that was missing. The tagliatelle we ordered turned out to be pappardelle, okay, that can happen. But the explanation was flimsy. ...so our little post-concert meal was cut short and left us feeling deflated. After being told we had to order at least two courses, we should have just left! What a shame!

Excellent dinner with attentive and meticulous service. The Italian hospitality was truly appreciated. I love trying Italian cuisine abroad, and this restaurant met my expectations—in fact, far exceeded them. I was absolutely thrilled! The food was incredibly delicious – fresh, authentic, and prepared with so much love. The vitello tonnato as a starter and the duck breast as a main course were real highlights. The ambiance is very pleasant and inviting. We had a wonderful evening at Galeria in Munich! The vitello tonnato was perfectly balanced – tender meat and a creamy, delicate sauce. The tagliatelle with duck was exceptionally good – homemade pasta and wonderfully flavorful meat. The turbot to finish was cooked to perfection and wonderfully fresh. Attentive, warm service and a stylish ambiance – all in all, a fantastic experience. We'll definitely be back!

The food was good, but the prices were too high. Upon entering the restaurant, we were informed that we had to order an appetiser and a main course. We received a pretty average salad, and the pasta was delicious but too expensive for the small portions. Another issue I encountered was with the drinks. When I order a drink, I expect it to be served on the table. However, when I ordered a Coke, it was already poured into a glass before I even saw it. I didn’t even know what kind of Coke it was or if it was real Coke. Overall, the experience was not up to the level of a Michelin guide restaurant.

Probably the best meal I have had in Munich. It's so good, and worth it. I saw a lot of people said it was expensive. I don't know where they have as a reference point but I thought it was fair and reasonable. The wine selection was legit, and the waiter was very cool, and professional. Easily one of the best wait staff in Munich. I loved it. I will admit that the portions are small, and I was a little hungry after dinner. So if you are looking for awesome food, wine and experience then this is your place. If you are starving I would eat somewhere else, and come back when you have a moderate appetite. There are plenty of places in Munich that serve a 8,000 calorie meal. Just be self aware for what you are looking for. I am so glad I went. I will return.

We received a warm welcome. After choosing our menu, homemade bread was brought to the table, along with a special treat from the kitchen. It was a fish praline in beetroot soup. I had the veal bridge with sweet potato mash and homemade tiramisu.

We have eaten at this restaurant many times over the last 10 years. It has always been exceptional. The food is amazing and the service perfect. This last time I had the linguine vongole (which is basically my death row meal) and it was the best I've ever had. Really can't fault it. Lovely people, lovely food.

I simply wanted to use the restroom while waiting for a taxi with my suitcase. When I politely asked, I was met with a resounding "no" without hesitation or any kind of consideration – unfriendly and condescending. Absolutely not inviting behavior for me.

I was looking for an Italian restaurant and got a good recommendation for this one. The location is small, comfy though. It seems they don’t accept you if you don’t have a reservation. As we didn’t have it, they said we could stay but need to go with the 6 course menu. We did it. It was a good experience. Good food. Price was too high. We had 3 courses menu + bottle of wine ($80) and the total was $500 Euros. Too much.

I had the pleasure of visiting Munich for my first time during the IAA Mobility trade show. Being Italian, after several days of enjoying Bavarian cuisine for lunch and dinner, I was craving Italian food. While browsing the Michelin Guide, I found this restaurant, which immediately caught my eye, both from the photos and the menu. I tried their signature dish: vitello tonnato and vice versa, and, craving pasta, I ordered homemade tagliatella with porcini mushrooms. I felt at home again, welcomed, and very satisfied. Excellent wine selection. I highly recommend it.

I always enjoy returning to Maria Grazia's Galleria Restaurant in Munich. Beyond the elegant and intimate atmosphere, the food is the absolute highlight. The ingredients make all the difference. The chef combines flawless technical execution with unforgettable flavor. Her Sardinian fregola pasta is a must-try, as is her veal with tuna sauce and vice versa. A special mention goes to the service: Alessandro always makes you feel at ease with his friendliness and expertise. Just steps from Marienplatz, it's worth immersing yourself in Munich's most fascinating Italian food and wine experience.

Torno sempre volentieri al Ristorante Galleria di Monaco di Baviera di Maria Grazia. Oltre all’ambiente elegante e raccolto, il cibo è assoluto protagonista. Le materie prime fanno la differenza. Lo chef fonde una perfetta esecuzione tecnica dei piatti con un gusto indimenticabile. Assolutamente da provare la sua fregola sarda oltre al “vitello tonnato e viceversa”. Menzione speciale per il servizio: Alessandro ti fa sentire sempre a proprio agio con la sua simpatia e competenza. A due passi da Marienplatz vale la pena immergersi nell’esperienza enogastronomica italiana più affascinante di Monaco.

He estado en Munich muchas veces a lo largo de los años, con fines de negocios y familiares / parejas, y casi todas las visitas a restaurantes han sido increíbles! Esto sin embargo fue muy terrible, lo siento, pero probablemente lo peor que he experimentado aquí en Munich: El camarero nos sirvió platos en los que claramente no estábamos de acuerdo y nos hizo pagar por ello. Sympathische Leute, nettes Restaurant, und - am wichtigsten - hervorragendes Essen. Spargelsuppe und Fritto misto handwerklich sehr gut gemacht, schmeckte beides ausgezeichnet. Durchaus mit kreativem Twist - sehr angenehm! Man fühlt sich wohl, ich komme wieder!

The restaurant is simply furnished, but don't let that fool you. We had burrata and vitello for starters and both were excellent. Then sea bass, osso buco and spaghetti carbonara. Finally, a tiramisu. Everything met our expectations, but the osso buco was definitely the highlight. The service and the boss were exceptionally friendly and we would be happy to come back.

Abbiamo fatto visita ad alcuni amici che vivono da anni a Monaco e volendo festeggiare questa occasione speciale, con le accurate ricerche, abbiamo deciso di riunirci tutti assieme in questo stupendo ristorante a pochi passi dal centro!!! Ci siamo informati, documentati e senza esitazione abbiamo riservato per la nostra cena all’indomani! Optando per il menù degustazione raffinandolo con alcuni vini scelti assieme alla solare titolare, abbiamo passato una stupenda serata tutti in compagnia. Ad ogni portata una sensazione unica. A fine cena abbiamo chiesto di incontrare tutto lo staff della cucina e assieme a quello di sala. Un grazie ancora e cuore!!!!

The chef knows this according to inspiration (response in itself more than disappointing) at the modest sum of 150 Eu approx per person (without wine), a decidedly excessive figure for the preparations and result of the 7 courses served. To which a 10% tip was added, without first asking the customer; as other restaurants usually do. Nothing contested out of pure superiority; but Eu 200 Eu each. DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMENDED due to the transparency and correctness of the dining room staff and customer management!!

Incredible bad treatment, narrow tables, they force you to a menu of more than €100 that has no fun or flavor. The food is mediocre and when the bill arrives they try to charge as if it were a Michelin star, great!

Llevó a mi familia a un viaje de Navidad en Múnich y quería un restaurante especial para pasar la Nochebuena lejos de casa. Encontramos este restaurante que el hotel había recomendado y que parecía tener una gran puntuación. Desde el segundo que llegamos al restaurante, todo empezó a ir mal. Primero había una mujer muy grosera para recibirnos, que parecía ser el propietario. Lo primero que se desenmascara es que es un SET Menu, donde no llegamos a conocer las opciones, escoge los platos, NADA! La única pregunta era: ¿es alérgico a algo? Por 150 euros por persona, definitivamente me gustaría saber qué voy a comer. O al menos tener 2 opciones de cada uno para elegir. ¡PERO NO! Nunca se mencionó en la reserva ni en ningún lugar. En lugar de ser hospitalaria, ella solo gritó: "¡Es un menú fijo, lees el correo electrónico, está en el correo electrónico!" Le mostramos el correo electrónico, en ningún lugar para que lo escribieran, y ella prácticamente llamó a todos los invitados a ser una retrasada porque "afirma" que fue escrito. ¡Pero no lo fue! Bueno la pizzeta apenas se tocaba, para ser honesto parecía pizza congelada que se calentaba, muy dura, no buena... Tuve que forzarme a comer un pedazo para que valiera lo que tendríamos que pagar. El boloñés era bueno... Para el desierto, que pensé que estaba incluido nos dieron PANETTONE - para aquellos de ustedes que no saben, es un pastel italiano que se compra en el supermercado, y simplemente le echaron un poco de mascarpone encima. Para mí fue un postre ofensivo para Navidad. ¿Dónde está la presentación gourmet de todo? Para los niños, trajeron helado. ¡Entonces llegó la factura! Cobraban 35 euros por cada pizzeta y 35 euros por cada boloñesa, luego otros 20 euros por cada helado. ¡Así que por cada niño eran 90 euros! ¡LOCURA! Me senté con el camarero, hablé con él tranquilamente y le expliqué la situación en la que el restaurante está muy equivocado al cobrar este precio para los niños. Mi cuñada es vegetariana lo cual les dijimos, al final mandaron a los mismos boliñeses y afirmaron que era pollo. . . . . . ¿verdad! ? NOTA PARA SÍ MISMO - Si quieres tener una experiencia feliz, no vayas a este restaurante. En nuestras vacaciones de 10 días, tuvimos una explosión y solo cosas increíbles que decir sobre Munich, esta fue la ÚNICA experiencia horrible.

Die Speisen waren hervorragend. Wir haben mit dem 5- Gang- Überraschungs- Menü sehr große Gaumenfreude!!! Passend auch die Weinkarte mit feinen Gewächsen.

As always, it was a pleasure to eat at La Galleria. Every time I return to Munich for work, I always dine at my favorite restaurant. Alessandro, the waiter, is always friendly and efficient. The quality of the food is always top-notch! *****

I was out for a walk and stopped for lunch at this restaurant. I highly recommend it. We had great wine and a great meal! We'll be back!

Had a very pleasant experience the week between Christmas and New Year’s. Tasting menu was fun and enjoyed the experience. They took special care of my 5 year old with serious food allergies ensuring that his delicate needs were met. Gluten free pasta + other restrictions (my biggest stress of our travels) Saw a bottle of wine I had in Mexico the week before that I fell in love with - ordered it without looking at the wine list, but I assume their wine list is of equal quality (note - wine was priced appropriately; 1/2 of what I paid in Mexico at a *resort*). Wish they had dropped the temperature down a degree or two (I didn’t request - wine was good as it was). Would visit again. : ). They deserve their Michelin mention, but they aren’t ready for their star … yet. So much can be lost in translation between the cultures.

I will lay out the events and facts and not how I feel about this place. - Food was very good, but not exceptional, and the portions were very small for the price. - Interior decor was tacky and not compatible with the size, ambience and price tag. - Wine menu was very good! - My son and wife had food poisoning that evening. Can’t tell for sure if its related or not to our ‘experience’ - There is a house policy that each person needs to order an appetizer and an entree each, no matter if you want one or not. I’m somewhat ok with this (especially given the small portions served), but they should be more transparent about it when you book the table online - once everyone is seated it’s hard to walk away. They do have a font size 6 disclaimer in the back page of the menu. Now let me tell you about the service… We walk in without a reservation and were politely told they could not accommodate our party, even though there were a couple of tables available. When challenged about that, they explained the tables were reserved. We walked away, but on a limb I decided to look up the opentable app, and there was indeed availability in just 7 min. I booked it, waited and returned to the restaurant. We were greeted by the same waiter which was surprised to see us back, I told him I was able to book a table online and he flipped out, and raised his voice aggressively and told me if he said there were no tables, then there were no tables, and it doesn’t matter what the app says. I was taken back by that response and his tone, and the entire restaurant started starring at us; side plot is one of the patrons leaned towards me and said the server is generally very rude. I ask if he would honor my reservation or not, and he told me I was lucky because a table has recently vacated. To remind him how business works, I told him we were both lucky, since we were getting food but he got our “business”. He calmed down after that and we had a decent service afterwards. Fun fact, he didn’t ask if a tip should be include to our bill. Gets bonus point for self awareness, and the only reason for a 2 star.

Such a horrible experience we had as a couple at this restaurant. Finishing our winter break as the last meal we were not only met with an absolute team member but also with his attitude through out the meal. He literally forced us to order extra food for the table even though we opened wines worth 300 Euros. Absolute disregard to the basic which is hospitality. Lastly, the food was also horrible - ended up eating at the McDonalds a few minutes away after the multiple courses we were forced to order. Would not reccomend anyone to go here. It's a fake hype and they claim they are full with no tables but through my entire meal the restaurant was empty!

Like many other reviewers, we didn't know about the fixed 2 course rule. The waiter was inflexible and frankly rude to us (to point of reducing my daughter to tears) resulting in our walking out. Quite a bizarre place and attitude to serving customers which I just don't get as it was half empty. I would recommend people avoid. Take a look down all the negative reviews and there is a consistent theme combined with quite staggering responses from the restaurant that suggests they are in denial. I dare say this review will attract a similar response!

The food at the Galleria is always a treat! Maria and her team always make the evening perfect; you feel completely at home. A must-visit when visiting Munich! We always enjoy coming back.

The whole family ate very well. Excellent service. We'll be back.

For work, I sat down to eat at this restaurant where the food is excellent and the service is impeccable and they are friendly.

So what can we say about this 20-minute experience? Let's go in order; it'll be quick. A rather cold welcome, but oh well, let's move on. We've been seated for a while, but no one pays attention to us or even offers us our menus, as if we were invisible. I go to the restroom and you bring out the waiter who doesn't stop to wash his hands. Pretty average. When we finally read the menu and wanted to order, we were told in a tone that brooked no argument that it was a minimum of two courses, excluding dessert. We weren't going to force ourselves to order a €30 starter just to please the owner. So we asked for the bill for the bottle of still water before leaving: €9! And indeed, they did warn us on the blackboard outside about the two mandatory courses, but in German. After all, we don't really care about foreign customers, do we? Thank you and forever.

I was here with my family for Christmas, exceptional menu, splendid service. I will definitely return. I had booked on OpenTable and was shocked when 2 tables near me attacked the poor waiter saying they had no information that only the Christmas menu was served. This is absolutely not the truth and these 4 rude Americans even got up without even paying for the drinks. I was very sorry to see such a scene on Christmas day, this restaurant is truly exceptional.

Evening of December 24th. What a disappointment, the welcome from the owner, very unfriendly. The reservation was made on the Fork, there was no information about a single menu at €140. So, a big rip-off, we were placed on a very small table near the entrance with drafts. The food was less than average. We didn't have dessert, and no goodwill gesture was made. Apparently, we weren't the only ones unhappy. A real shame.

We are a family of 4 who were traveling to Germany over Christmas. I was looking for a restaurant in Munich what that would be open on Christmas Eve and not have a fixed menu. Looking extensively on Open Table led me to Galleria Ristorante. On the day of the reservation we went to look at the menu and noticed that it now said it was a fixed menu for Christmas. Upon arrival we were never given a menu or directly told it would be fixed. Apparently the table next to us was not aware of this either as, when we enquired about the menu, we were told it was fixed for Christmas. At this point another gentleman became involved and kept saying that it was in the email. I showed the hostess my email and she was unable to find this information. Not once did they say what our choices would be or what was and was not included. We were only asked about allergies and did we like fish. I kept trying to explain that we specifically picked their place because it did not list a fixed menu. The person we were talking to said it was our problem and not his. I can totally understand a fixed menu but, €125 per person is a bit high when you have no idea what is being served, what’s included, or how many courses there will be. Totally unprofessional in the way this was handled and I have eaten in restaurants all over the world. I have never experienced this level of of rudeness and unprofessionalism. Take my advice, avoid this place!

RUN FAR AWAY! Made reservations for Christmas Eve. Didn’t know it was a fixed menu or it was going to be €125 per person. Every other restaurant we looked at explicitly detailed that on OpenTable. When we sat down for dinner, we asked them if it was a fixed price. They told us that it was and asked if we had any allergies or dislikes. Questioned them about what would be on the menu and they wouldn’t answer us. Told us “there would be an appetizer, main course and a dessert”. When questioned them again about what we would be paying €550 for, they became extremely belligerent and defensive. The women at the table next to us also commented that they had no idea it was a fixed menu and they also wanted to know what they were paying for, as they had 2 small children with them. The man, who appeared to be the owner, was screaming at us so we politely got up and walked out the door. We would not tolerate that kind of behavior from a restaurant in the US or anywhere else. Unacceptable and extremely rude. I don’t care how many Michelin stars they have. I would NEVER recommend anyone going there!!!!!!

Booked reservations at this restaurant for Christmas Eve dinner in Munich after seeing there was not a set menu for the evening. When we arrived they asked if we wanted any starters or drinks without providing a menu, so we inquired to one. To this they responded that it was a set menu for the evening at €125/ person. However, when asked what was on the menu they would not tell us what they were serving, and got increasingly more angry over this. We told them we had not been aware of the set menu, which enraged who appeared to be the owner. Multiple times he told us "you need to read" referring to some webpage he had written; but not sent to us via email with our reservation. It should be mentioned that the waitress working demanded to see our confirmation email and even mentioned that she didn't see this information! The staff was incredibly rude about this, when we again told him that we were simply unaware of the set menu he became increasingly more arrogant stating that he "has 4 restaurants" (not sure how that helps the situation, but cool story). This situation was incredibly ridiculous considering the staff blew up at us simply inquiring what was being served tonight. I understand a set menu, but at that price you should at least be able to tell your guests what will be served. On top of all of this several of the tables around us also mentioned to the staff that they were unaware of a set menu and would like to know what was being served. The staff also refused to answer these people. It seems like a Michelin Star restaurant would at least be able to tell you what was being served for the evening, and have the slightest bit of conversation skills, apparently they are too focused on making up a menu on the fly.
