The place is magnificent, right in the heart of the city, and the location has a magical atmosphere, almost esoteric from an energetic point of view. Obviously, Italian food and coffee are number one

We ate asparagus and bolognese pasta. They were not bad but too pricey for an avarage taste. Food was not served at the right temperature, which was annoying. the brownie did not meet our expectations., neither.

What was that? Because of the location, I first thought it was a tourist restaurant, but that turned out to be a mistake. Locals, tourists, great wine list, competent service, really nice boss and, last but not least, great dishes. Everything was perfect here.

Exceptionally bad service. Did not expect that given the location proximity to city center. We dined at 5pm - well before the dinner rush.

It's hard to experience worse service. It was our first time here and the staff was as unfriendly as we have ever experienced. Without feeling any need to create a good time and experience for the guest and ultimately at least to show respect, they were rather cheeky and disrespectful. With relatively high prices for a rather average restaurant, such behavior and poor service cannot be tolerated. We just wanted to get out as quickly as possible and it's a shame that we couldn't fully enjoy even a delicious meal. In summary: walk around in a wide circle.

I'm waiting more than 1 hour for a pasta!!!!!!! Then I ask where is my pasta? And get an answer: Your order hasn't arrived in the kitchen and you have to wait another 20 minutes Super! Thanks!

Beautiful location to sit outside for a drink and the food was delicious. Our waiter was strangely rude, as if it was a joke, we thought we might be on a hidden camera show!

Wow! I am pretty spoiled but this place blew me away. The food (spaghetti, lamb chops) were perfectly cooked. The wine selections were inspired and the service was superb. Comfortable outdoor seating was fun for people watching too. In short, one of the best restaurants I have gone to in a year only exceeded by Grill Royale in Berlin.

A lunch right at the cathedral. The spaghetti bolognese was good, the pasta was al dente and the bread with olive oil and aciete balsamic was a good start. The water was also relatively expensive for the location at €4.90 for 0.25 l. The service was quick and attentive.

Great homemade pastas and desserts! Just be prepared for a looong wait in between for your meal. 1 Appetizer, 2 Pasta main courses, and 1 tiramisu for dessert took almost 3 hours on a non-busy Wednesday afternoon It’s also a little on the pricey side, but really good homemade dishes

Regular guests are of course preferred "who knows when". At 30 degrees, the heat builds up in the narrow street. There are plenty of other shops for that on a Monday evening...this place wasn't actually worth mentioning...I then moved on. byebye and one guest less

Customer service is not good. Even though there are a lot of employees, guidance to seats is slow. I don't know if he's pretending not to know or if he just doesn't want to work. Even when guests arrive, the guidance is delayed, so I have seen some customers just show off and leave. Food is not recommended for the price. The octopus in the octopus salad was too hard, and the seafood pasta had plenty of ingredients but didn't taste great. I visited because the picture looked good, but the taste wasn't quite up to par.

It is a fine dining Italian ! If you like healthy but tasty meals and your taste buds are not ruined by junk food, you will love it !

This Italian restaurant is a great find in Munich. Very fair prices for this expensive city. My friends and I enjoyed excellent and friendly service and loved the various pastas and seafood. I recommend sitting outside if possible.

Very rude waiters , half of terrace empty yet they place us to sit inside . Very poor organization of the tables and waiters. Food arrived late and cold . No one apologise . Absolutely gorgeus! Me and my sister are on a two-day trip in Munich, it's our first time in the city and we ended up eating at this amazing restaurant! Our waiter was very good at his job, at the same time he was incredibly nice and had a nice aura throughout our visit. Their wine was very good. We ordered their spaghetti bolognese and Napoli, they were both excellent. Finally, we were served a taste of their brownie. Hand on heart some of the best I've tasted! Will 100% return here in the future!

The fish soup and the truffle pasta are highly recommended. The team is attentive and friendly. The location is excellent. I will definitely go there again.

A very bad experience. Usually I only write when I have positive things to say, but now I can't help but say that it's a total scam! My salad: a joke! 4 faded salad leaves and a slice of avocado cut in 2. The waiter was absolutely unfriendly. The service generally deplorable. And of course everything very expensive. In short, we absolutely do not recommend!!!!

I recently visited this restaurant and had a very disappointing experience. They cheated by adding VAT twice to my bill, totaling an extra €42. Additionally, they automatically included a tip, assuming I couldn't read German. When I confronted them about the tip, they returned it, but it was clear they were aware of their dishonest practices. Later, back at my hotel, I realized they had still charged me VAT twice. This place is a tourist trap. Be extremely cautious and triple-check your bill. Shame on you for exploiting customers! Shame on you!

What a culinary and friendly experience! The food (fish soup - absolutely recommended!!, veal fillet with taglieroni and truffles) was excellent, the atmosphere was beautiful, the wine was excellent and the warm and authentic service was a real pleasure. The prices are high, but worth every euro. We will be back definitely! ❤️

This Italian restaurant serves really nice meals and wine. I went on Saturday lunchtime and it was fully booked. We ordered seafood pasta and octopus salad. Both were really good and fully matched with Riesling house wine. I strongly recommend this restaurant downtown München.

Walking around, you immediately notice the difference in style. Elegant spaced external tables. The interiors are very well kept. Clean. The menu offers the most popular dishes of the Italian culinary tradition. Fundamental food design layouts. Excellent service. Young, kind and friendly staff. Good value for money. 🔝

The location is of course great right next to the cathedral, the service, including the sommelier, are great. What disappointed me a little was the food. The beef tartare was relatively tasteless, not noticeably seasoned, and the quail egg was cooked instead of raw, which I thought was a shame. Above all, I was disappointed by the duck liver tortellini. The tortellini filling was good, but unfortunately it was more of a tortellini soup, far too liquid and too much.

Excellent food and service. We enjoyed our lunch very much. The food was fresh and made with high quality ingredients and Absolute Love. The staff is professional and polite. The owner was super nice, welcoming, generous, and accommodating. I definitely recommend this lovely restaurant. I loved the seating area outside, very charming and relaxing. I advise to sit outside when the weather is nice, so the sound of the glasses and plates at the bar would not bother you. It is a very popular restaurant. Absolutely Loved it. It was really good, no question about it, but you can get rid of your money very, very quickly here. With all my love, the prices are exaggerated, they're indecent. But if it's paid for, if people are scrambling to even queue up to get one of these expensive tables.

Hosting an important delegation, wanted a really great experience. And, this restaurant delivered. Welcoming us, accommodating a last minute request to change where we're sitting (outdoors instead of the booked indoors as rain had stopped) and offering us nice bread and oil. The actual food (appetizers and main dishes) all tasted exquisite. Amazing flavor, cooked just right and with delicious sides. The team was checking on us frequently, making sure that there is no requirement not attended to. Overall, an experience worth repeating next time time I'm in Munich.

Cozy, very tasty food, large servings sufficient for 2. Had pasta Napoli and pasta with gambas + mixed greens salad and greens with goat cheese. Could not finish it all. Did not have alcohol. Not outrageously expensive but more than reported in ratings. I recommend it with reservations.

Went there around 6:30 p.m. without a reservation and immediately got an outdoor table. The wind was a little too strong that even my parmesan blew off. Pasta al dente was perfect and both pastas tasted great. Nice and fast service

Now we tried to get a table here for the third time in a row and for the third time in a row there was nothing free for us, even though there were enough free tables available. Before it was a guess, but today it has been confirmed: this store selects people. Why did we get this impression: the waiter first says he's looking for a place for us, but then walks past the free tables, ONLY one of which was marked "reserved", straight to another gentleman (I assume it was the owner, or something similar), discusses it with him, we are briefly “inspected” and then he comes back and it is said that there are no more free tables. This is how selection is made in Munich. Thank you very much, we won't leave you a cent more.

The food was nothing special especially for the very high prices that were not justified. For example the price for a salad with tomatoes and mozzarella was 17 euroes and the portion was lilliputian . Also the glass of a common red wine was 16 and the water 10 euroes!!Another noticeable thing is that there was no menu for drinks so whatever you take you dont know the price.

Ripp off place par excellence. Calculate for a wine spritzer 13.80 o.2 liters. & show in the invoice, among other things, 2 liters of wine!? Dear Italian gastro "guest workers", you can do that if it would be a large wine spritzer or 4, otherwise = it is simply intentional fraud on the guest (!) Service completely over-the-top & artificially exaggerated, as a woman you always feel uncomfortably attacked by the waiter, the boss in the background as if he had 30 espressos or something else. Reserved at 6.30 p.m., food arrived at 7.30 p.m. with the accompanying message that the table was already taken at 8 p.m., so you'll forget the already completely overpriced food before you even start. Never again, unfortunately a ruined evening. By the way, even in Kitzbühel a spritzer costs 6.80 in the 5 star Stangl Resort(!) We are really NOT willing to pay Catholic fantasy "cathedral prices", never ever ever again🥴☝️😵‍💫😡 We also consider 580 reviews to be quite "fake", which would mean that a guest gave five stars every day for two years in a slow snack bar that actually deserved 0 stars✓✓

Atmosphere - The atmosphere at Guido al Duomo was very pleasant save for a few patrons who felt entitled to smoke their cigarettes before and during dinner. Menu - The menu consists of the typical items found at any Italian trattoria. Wine List - Guido al Duomo prides itself on its extensive wine list which is featured on an iPad delivered to you by the proprietor. Yet, much to our surprise we were informed that the sole Pinot Grigio located on their extensive iPad wine list was unavailable. The proprietor offered us a bottle of a wine he said would be similar tasting. Being very familiar with Pinot Grigio, we found that his selection did taste exactly the same as any quality Pinot Grigio we had enjoyed previously. However, he failed to mention that the wine he poured cost 36% more than the wine we ordered from his extensive iPad wine list! Shame on him! Cuisine - While the food was good, it was neither exceptional nor memorable. Service - The service was completely unreliable. At one point I told our waiter to either serve us our main course, consisting of a bowl of spaghetti, plus a salad of asparagus, or bring us the bill. Miraculously... our food arrived! Alternative - Trust me when I tell you that you will have a far superior gastronomical and dining experience at Sophia. located within The Charles Hotel than you could possibly have at Guido al Duomo. Conclusion - While the food is good at Guido al Duomo, the menu holds no surprises. Moreover, the service at Guido al Duomo is disappointing and unprofessional, which ultimately diminishes its the capacity to create a fine dining expertise. For the same price you'll double your pleasure at Sophia!

Crowded and expensive, but tasty.

Nice little Italian restaurant right next to the cathedral. The service was friendly, but we were all disappointed with the food. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The truffle pasta was rather small for €30 and there were maybe 4 flakes of truffles on it. Overall, the pasta tasted very poor in taste. No spice, no taste of truffles. I've eaten much better truffle pasta. The price is not justified for the performance.

We enjoyed going to the restaurant during our annual visits to Munich and had already spent many wonderful hours there. It was always one of the highlights for us and more or less our regular restaurant on our regular visits to the state capital. Unfortunately that has now been resolved today. We had reserved a table for 8 p.m. and arrived 5 minutes early. The boss had to put us off first. We were told to wait at the counter (“about 10 minutes”), which overall wasn’t a problem. Strangely enough, we weren't offered a table that was still free - other guests (including two of them) who came after us got it straight away. At least we were served a drink at the bar. The physical affection from the working staff was free (unfortunately this couldn't be avoided due to the narrow corridor, but it didn't really lift our spirits). At least we were allowed to keep our jackets on for the time being, which wasn't a bad thing because the door kept opening. So we stood in the aisle for about 15 minutes with a jacket and a wine spritzer - then another 10 minutes without a jacket, after which the counter staff slowly became very embarrassed that we were treated as ordered and not picked up. After waiting for 25 minutes we were given a kind of emergency table in the hallway. The pull in the back could still be felt. After we were really “served”, my partner and I decided to continue the evening somewhere else. When we asked the waitress for the bill for the two wine spritzers, all we got was an “ok” and we were allowed to pay the total wasted time 1:1 in euros (€26.60). When paying, the waitress asked - while also holding the EC card reader right in front of our noses - whether something could have gone wrong. After describing the incident, we were promised to do better next time and wished us a nice evening. We had that too, but unfortunately the rest was taken care of for us.

I had a fantastic experience at this Munich Italian! The Vitello Tonato, Spaghetti Gamberetti and Tiramisu were delicious. The service was modern, young, fresh, fast and extremely professional. An all-round successful gastronomic experience – I’ll definitely be back!

My second visit during the last 6 months and everything is absolutely perfect. Food is delicious, service is very attentive and fast. I tried pasta with a white truffle and salad with a goat cheese - both dishes were amazingly good.

Tja, was soll man zu diesem Restaurant sagen. Es sind drei Dinge, die es ausmacht: die Lage, die Lage und nochmal die Lage. Ansonsten rechtfertigt hier nichts das Preisniveau. Das Ambiente ist zweifelsfrei schön, im Sommer sitzt man hier sehr gut draußen und es ist etwas ruhiger als in den riesigen Gastgärten auf der anderen Seite der Frauenkirche. Trotzdem, 59,90€ für das Rinderfilet oder 46,90€ für das Kalbsfilet, beides in guter durchschnittlicher Qualität, muss man erstmal sacken lassen. Als Einheimischer sage ich hier, es ist keine klassische Touristen-Abzocke, wie sie in manchen Restaurants z. B. in Rom existiert, aber Geld muss einem schon sehr egal sein, wenn man hier einkehrt, statt 3 Minuten nach Besserem zu googeln. Meine Empfehlung als Alternative: Die Brasserie Les Deux in den Fünf Höfen, etwa 2 Minuten entfernt.

Immer voll. Und zu Recht. Wirklich lecker, netter Service, und schönes Ambiente. Ihnen etwas zu eng und zu nah am nächsten Tisch. Die Preise: Teuer. Scheint aber niemanden zu stören, denn es schmeckt wirklich gut und der Wirt ist sehr sympathisch.

Verrassende plek. Dicht bij de hele drukke winkelstraat is het dan toch een mooie plek in de luwte van de stad. Service zeer behulpzaam en alert. Ook tijdens het wachten op een tafel. Wijnkeuze en begeleiding was absoluut top! Gezellig en goed bezet binnen voor de lunch en lekker Italiaans eten.

Wir hatten einen ganz wunderbaren Lunch im Guido Al Duomo! Die getrüffelte Maronencreme schmeckte herrausragend, ebenso das Kalbskotelette war perfekt zubereitet und auch die Beilagen waren ein Traum. Der Service arbeitete unauffällig aber aufmerksam und konnte mit Kentnissen bei der Auswahl der Speisen und des Weins vollends überzeugen! Ein großes Dankeschön an Küchenchef Mike Bouton und das eingespielte Serviceteam! Wir kommen sehr gern wieder!
