My girlfriend and I went there for dinner on Monday, November 24, 2025, and everything was perfect! I'm Italian myself and used to work in the restaurant industry, and this place is truly authentic and exactly to my taste. Whether it was the vitello tonnato or the pasta, everything tasted absolutely delicious, and Laura's service was very friendly and impeccably perfect! Keep it up, and see you soon! P.S. With a bit of luck, you might even spot a celebrity ;-)

The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff is quite diverse – both in temperament and friendliness. My meals were excellent: the classic Bolognese was truly delicious, and the tagliatelle with beef fillet was also superb. What I liked less: the open pot of olive oil and chili that was passed from table to table. It didn't seem very hygienic. Overall: A pleasant restaurant, good food, one small thing with room for improvement – ​​otherwise, highly recommended.

We had a truly wonderful evening! The food was outstanding – incredibly delicious and perfectly paired with an excellent wine selection. For starters, we had vitello tonnato, followed by a Châteaubriand steak (for two people) – simply superb! To finish, we had a tiramisu that was truly heavenly. An absolute must for me when I'm back in Munich! The service was top-notch – our waiter was very attentive and courteous. The bill was a bit higher in the end, but anyone who enjoys such good food and drink knows that quality comes at a price. Highly recommended!

While walking, we noticed this restaurant and decided to make a reservation for the evening. The tables were small and very close together, with no privacy. The place was very noisy. I had a plate of spaghetti with clams for €30, which was floating in a tasteless soup. My wife ordered tagliatelle with truffles for €30, which was a bit salty.

Disappointing experience – never again! We ate at Guido al Duomo yesterday and were very disappointed. Instead of being given a table in the actual restaurant, we were seated in the adjoining wine shop – surrounded by wine boxes, some separated only by a curtain. The restroom was right next to it, and staff were constantly coming and going to get or drop off boxes. Every now and then, someone who clearly had no idea what they were doing just switched the lights on and off. The food was apparently prepared in the restaurant (very salty) and then brought over to us, which gave the whole evening a makeshift and uninviting feel. We also kept finding small insects on the table and even in our glasses – absolutely unhygienic! The service was inattentive and anything but friendly. Overall, a chaotic and unpleasant experience – for us, it's clear: never again!

Small, cozy restaurant, tucked away in the heart of Munich. Discovered by chance in 2022 – and have been there practically every other week since. Very friendly staff with a great sense of humor. MUST-TRY: Tagliolini with truffles (a must!) & seasonal dishes like beetroot carpaccio, asparagus pasta, melon salad, and more. Prices are typical for Munich, but the quality is consistently excellent.

I enjoyed the Spaghetti Bolognese, although it wasn't really special. The staff and location are great, especially for a fall afternoon at an outdoor table. Tucked back off the main path through old town. Very nice, would certainly eat here next time I'm in Munich. Espresso was really smooth.

In the mood for some good food? Need a paws (dog-friendly) between department stores? Not in a hurry for the old town’s fast food? Here’s the spot, just out of earshot from the buzzing Marienplatz. Around the East-curve of the Frauenkirche and adjacent to Killian’s Irish Pub, you’ll find an Italian culinary upgrade in the form of Guido Al Duomo. So, why here and what’s good?: it has charm, inside and out, elegant yet traditional, cozy yet a little exclusive (in a good way). Swift, friendly and professional service, where the owners (Bolognese siblings) will often go out of their way to welcome patrons old and new. A great outdoor eating area and atmosphere in all seasons, the perfect place for lunch. Whenever we come here, we always feel welcomed and unrushed and have never had anything but great food. It’s always busy, but in a good way with Italian flair and an enticing vibe. About 20-30 tables inside and outside (depending on season). The food: fresh, seasonal, traditional, yet refined. A master sommelier is also on hand to perfectly pair wine with food. Servings are more or less generous depending on what you order - experience leads to best choice. Not so good: prices are a little steep, a little, but you’ll be hard to find this quality and atmosphere anywhere nearby. This is not really a quick stop, fuel-up kind of place, and possibly not for most tourists too (?), rather for those who like to take a bit more time enjoying good company with very good food.

Nice Italian restaurant with a great atmosphere.

The service was excellent! The olive oil in the seafood pasta was very fragrant, and the Bolognese meat sauce paired with freshly shaved cheese was rich and not greasy. Those who are afraid of the fishy smell of the duck liver dumplings might not be used to it. The seafood fish soup was average. Overall, the meal was a bit salty and I kept wanting to drink water.

Wow! We got so lucky! Service was amazing! Food was amazing! We came before Oktoberfest, just to get a bite before we go and the food was so good. The waitress was so nice and welcoming. We were in and out.

As a vegetarian visiting Germany I was told that my options would be limited but this restaurant proves that wrong. In addition to great food, the hospitality was extremely warm and welcoming. I didn’t feel like was eating at a restaurant I felt like I was eating at home. Andrea my server was the key for this, he took my tastes and preferences into consideration then made a recommendation and customized it to my liking. The resulting dish was amazing. All in all, thank you to this restaurant and Andrea for a wonderful meal.

It was a wonderful experience. The pasta dishes were delicious, especially the spaghetti with bolognese sauce and the spaghetti with seafood are definitely worth trying. I can't say the same for desserts; they have a cake-like tiramisu. :(

Even the central location doesn't justify such an unbalanced price-performance ratio. The food lacked any of the refinement expected in this price range.

We didn't have any plans to eat Italian food in Munich, we rather wanted German food. But we were late for the kitchen so ended up here. But this was a good lucky find. The food was delicious, service great and friendly and the atmosphere cozy.

A very nice restaurant near the cathedral, but we wouldn't go back because, despite the location, the value for money is absolutely not right! We were particularly concerned about the drink prices: a bottle of water for €11 and a glass of wine for €9.

We had a really bad experience with this restaurant. In the menu I ordered a dish. We I got the receipt the price was doubled. When i asked the waiter she said sorry we didn’t explain to you that the price only for one person. It’s very expensive restaurant and the portion was too small for pasta. Not recommended at all.

Yes, eating at Guido's doesn't mean eating cheaply. However, this small, fine, and special restaurant is located in the heart of Munich, right next to the famous cathedral. The food was truly excellent, the wine exquisite, and the service more than attentive. Whether rich or poor, local or tourist, everyone is warmly served and welcomed. Anyone looking for a small, special break from the hustle and bustle of the city will find their "cool down" there. The best time to stop by is late afternoon or with an early reservation.

Had a wonderful lunch in this vibrant Italian restaurant in Munich. Service was very good and can’t say enough about the quality of the food served. Forgot to take a picture of the espresso but that was just as good.

Family, beware! 💥 This place looks quite atmospheric, and the presentation is okay, but the pasta was a complete disaster! A portion of pasta cost €29.90, and the portion was so small it was gone in a few bites. And it was ridiculously expensive. Even worse, I realized I had to pay tax after checking out. Spending that kind of money on this is a complete bummer! 😤 I won't be back, and I urge everyone to choose carefully!

Absolute delicious, great attention

Esto fue recomendado por el hotel y nos preocupamos un poco por las otras críticas. La comida (Sole) y el servicio era absolutamente maravilloso. Hemos tenido lenguado por todas partes e IT fue magnífico. La pasta estaba perfecta IT con ella (ajo, pimientos y aceite de oliva). Las verduras eran frescas y sabrosas.

Bologna in Munich. Four prodigal sons operate this restaurant as an homage to their father. It’s 250 meters from Marienplatz yet easy to miss. Don’t you dare. The food is seasonal, traditional, classic and fresh. The wine program pips the outstanding food, with artisanal selections exquisitely matched and presented with in depth knowledge - one of the brothers sits for the Master Somm exam this year. We ate and drank our way across southern Germany, and this is the only restaurant we would repeat. Honestly, I’d travel from the US just to dine again. Special thanks to Florian for hosting and guiding us through dinner. Salute!

I'm sorry to say that the food - we had two different pasta dishes that tasted mediocre and cost over €25. A glass of wine was €13.50. The decor and the carpet are outdated. The worst part was that they didn't accept my or my daughter's new HVB debit card. This isn't up to date. Luckily, I had cash. The service was friendly, but I won't eat there again. I know lots of good Italian restaurants in Munich and the surrounding area where the food is better and cheaper.

I savored the Napoli pasta, each bite a testament to true craftsmanship. The sauce, vibrant and unmistakably homemade, wraps the fresh pasta in a warm embrace of rich, comforting flavor. It feels as though an Italian grandmother has invited you into her kitchen. I’ll surely return to try different dishes.

Sadly we arrived with great expectations and the disappointment was great. The cray fish salad portion was good and looks great sadly with excessive salt. The pasta with truffles again salty and even worst a very very small portion. A estimation less than 100gr of a dish. When I asked to see the menu the waiter pulled a face and stated still hungry? So if the staff knows the portions is very small then way to to mention it in advance? Or way not to add some more pasta? However faces and remarks are out of place. The restaurant is very expensive for quality and portion.

Very tasty, refined food, super friendly service and competent advice

Great service! Great food! Great ambiance both inside and outside. We had the octopus and zucchini carpacio for starters. Probably the most tender octopus I've ever had. For main courses, we had classic Italian dishes: spaghetti vongole and Napoli. Both were very tasty, as you would expect in Italy. Excellent.

I ate Bolognese pasta. The pasta was tasty, but nothing special. It was nice to get a compliment in the form of bread and oil, but the water for 11€... like diamond water. It was shocking and seemed like a cheat, but we were not offered any menu with drinks, so everything was based on trust. The tables are also very closely spaced Overall, we liked the service, the waiters were very friendly, and we didn't have to wait long

We spontaneously stopped by today around lunchtime and got a table straight away without a reservation. The food is absolutely delicious! Really good! And the service is top-notch 😍 The slightly higher prices are totally justified. We'd love to go back!

Él era tan amable — el primer camarero verdaderamente acogedor que encontramos durante nuestras 24 horas en Múnich — que decidimos quedarnos y conseguir una mesa. La comida era deliciosa, el servicio era atento, y el ambiente era fantástico. Resultó ser una gran experiencia gastronómica y un final encantador para nuestra noche. Muy recomendable!

I've been going to this restaurant for a while now, I've always eaten very well, delicious food.

I found this place and went there based on reviews because it looked a little more upscale than most of the pizza joints in town. I ordered the fruite to mare and I asked for a glass of Chiante but didn’t find out till later that the glass of Chianti was 16.50 euros. I should’ve asked to see the wine list in the prices I I enjoyed the seafood pasta, which was actually very good. There was a slight mishap when I found a tiny stone that looked like a clam in my pasta, and the manager graciously came over and apologized and offered to give me something for free. I ate the whole dish as it was delicious And he gave me a free glass of wine so all is good. I would go back there again, and I probably will on my trip back to Munich.

Too much money for too little food

I like the vibe and the location, I was once for lunch there and both vibes are great. The food is nothing special, and absolutely overpriced for what you get. For example a starter with burrata for 19 euros and they serve only half of Burrata 😆 sorry I didn’t take a picture. Alongside the sea bass we ordered three side dishes, one of it was forgotten. We ordered still water and afterwards it somehow switched, we were served only sparkling. The service was a bit confusing, since our waiter just decided to spill his problems/stress on me when I asked about the table outside (my sentence included the words, “sorry”, “if it’s possible” etc.). Conclusion: very stressful environment for the staff, leads to rude comments to the guests; the place is very central and most likely focuses tourists, that’s why building a nice connection with guests is not important. Quite unusual for an Italian restaurant. The waiter that served us outside was very kind, that was a huge switch from the experience before, he said he was from Morocco. I left 20% of tips and I really hope he is getting them. I made a whole guide on Italian restaurants in Munich on Google maps and this one is very far away from my standards.

The food was really excellent - everything was very tasty and beautifully presented, a big compliment to the kitchen. The service, on the other hand, unfortunately surprised us negatively: from a bill of around €80, €100 was accepted without giving back the change or asking how much we would like to tip. This arbitrary approach was irritating and spoiled the overall positive impression.

Nice corner with good food. The atmosphere is right

It is an Italian restaurant located behind the Frauenkirche near Marienplatz. The food is very delicious, especially the veal steak and the truffle pasta. The bread with balsamic and olive oil sauce is also delicious. After you are full, you don't want to miss the desserts, such as tiramisu and chocolate cake.

Only the service was excellent. Spaghetti with clams for €30 with sand and two inches of broth. Really bad. Unusable in a restaurant of this level. Tables really too close to each other. No privacy possible. Your neighbors will hear whatever you say.

Food average (minced pork and inferior) Service was slow, unkempt and very sales-oriented (X asked for water before and after the meal). Toilet narrow, small, unkempt and unpleasant smell. Wine/Aperitivo Average but priced above average. Truffles and olive oil cheap inferior. Location is the only highlight otherwise just an alternative to L’osteria. I can't understand all the good reviews, maybe it's the young chic. There are many good alternatives in Munich.

The food is really great! As far as I can tell, it's really authentic with friendly service and, if necessary, its own wine shop around the corner. Unfortunately it's quite expensive - but normal for Munich standards.

Leider große Enttäuschung, Preis/Leistung selbst für Münchner Verhältnisse ungenügend. Es gab keine Speisekarte, daher von der Tafel bestellt : „ganze“ Seezunge zu 68 Euro und Gamberoni als Hauptgang. Tatsächlich war die ganze Seezunge wohl nicht mehr verfügbar, tatsächlich kamen 4 Fischstücke, leider trocken und totgegrillt. Die drei mittelgroßen Gamberoni in Vorspeisengrösse nicht durchgegart und innen kalt, Beilage ein kleines Näpfchen Gemüse. Das war gar nichts und für den Preis absolut inakzeptabel, zumal der Fisch wohl konserviert war und nicht frisch, fühlbar für meinen Partner als Allergiker am nächsten Tag. Service gehetzt und sichtlich überfordert, Touristen werden abgearbeitet, Stammpublikum Handschlag und Sonderbehandlung. So geht das gar nicht und für uns das letzte Mal.

Excellent Italian pasta and wine right in the city center. Basically, everything you need. Unfortunately, everything is very fast-paced and cramped. The waiters zip around the restaurant, and you can feel this restlessness everywhere! The seating is very, very close together. There wasn't even a hand's breadth of space between the neighboring table, so why separate the tables at all? Thus, 5 stars for the good food and 1 star deducted for the loud, unromantic hustle and bustle inside! This is just mass processing, not a night out...

I ate here with my wife and we ordered carpaccio and truffle pasta. Both were excellent! In addition, the service provided was very good, which is why we will definitely come back.

Früher war ich hier sehr gerne: Entspanntes Lokal, freundlicher Service, hohe Qualität der Speisen. Nach den letzten Besuchen gebe ich keine Empfehlung mehr: Hektische Atmosphäre, unaufmerksamer bis ruppiger Service, eher mäßige Qualität zu Höchstpreisen. Sehr schade.

Stopped in spontaneously and was completely thrilled. The charming, attentive staff creates an atmosphere in which you immediately feel at home. The cuisine impresses with authentic flavors and first-class ingredients! My Tagliolini al Tartufo were a poem. The stylish Italian ambience, the wonderful wine selection and the perfect location make the Guido al Duomo a place you'll love to return to again and again.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but the truffle pasta was an absolute disaster. The pasta was overcooked, the sauce was bland, and the truffle flavor was either non-existent or artificial. For the price, I expected something much better. Definitely not worth it—wouldn’t recommend.

I had to leave a review after my visit. However, this was apparently reported by the restaurant as it was only 2 out of 5 stars! No wonder there are so many good reviews when the critical ones seem to be deleted again!!!

Muy mal servicio desde mi punto de vista. El lugar está situado cerca de la catedral, y ese es su único punto de venta. El personal de servicio no trata de hacer su estancia agradable. Tampoco muy educado. Tienes prisa, no puedes quedarte mucho tiempo. La comida tarda mucho en llegar y en mi opinión es al menos media.

What was that then? Because of the location, I first thought it was a tourist restaurant, but that turned out to be a mistake. Locals, tourists, great wine list, competent service, really nice boss and, last but not least, great dishes. Everything was perfect here.

Unfortunately very disappointed. Nice terrace, but that was it. The service was friendly, sometimes very tiring The pasta wasn't bad, but nothing special either. The wines are absolutely overpriced. Price performance absolutely doesn't fit here!

A Perfect Italian Experience! We arrived at the restaurant after several attempts to get in, as it was fully booked – a good sign right from the start. Fortunately, we finally managed to get a table, and it quickly became clear why it’s so popular. The menu is presented in a fun and unique way, which added to the pleasant atmosphere. We started with fresh and delicious bread, followed by an excellent Caprese salad. For the mains, we ordered Bolognese pasta and Arrabbiata pasta – generous portions, flavorful, and true to their Italian roots. the restaurant is pet-friendly, and we noticed a few small dogs around. The food was so satisfying that we didn’t have room for dessert – but that’s definitely a reason to come back! Highly recommended for Italian food lovers.

Finally back in Munich and nothing has changed here, it simply remains my favorite restaurant even after 10 years of abstinence 🤩

Unfortunately I can't agree, the staff is absolutely unfriendly, annoyed and overwhelmed. The food was delicious, but the portions were overpriced, extremely small... the bill didn't allow for sharing, rude tone, jackets, chaos...

Alles war Top, angefangen von der Reservierung per Mail, über den Empfang im Restaurant bis zur Bedienung. Wir wählten zum Apero Champagner und als wir am Tisch waren wollte ich die Weinkarte sehen. Und was soll ich sagen. Grandiose Weinauswahl und sehr gutes P/L Verhältnis. Wir wählten Flusskrebse mit Advocado und Vitello Tonnato, anschließend Ravioli mit Entenleber und Trüffel, einfach toll gemacht. Als Hauptspeise eine Loup de mer mit Spinat und Gemüse. Ich habe selten einen so perfekt gegarten Fisch serviert bekommen. Richtig heiss und dennoch super saftig unglaublich. Zum Dessert wählten wir Crème brûlée und je eine Kugel Vanille und Tonkabohneneis. Alles zusammen perfekt. Weinempfehlung durch den Chef persönlich war der ideale Begleiter zu den gewählten Gerichten. Den super Abschluss bescherte uns ein genialer Espresso.

The service sind sehr gut. Die Entenleber ist außen knusprig und innen zart. Der Kellner ist sehr begeistert. Ich war sehr glücklich, während der Flitterwochen zu essen.
