Sehr schönes Lokal. Wir saßen auf der Terrasse. Wir hatten das Menü und es war toll, das man hier Dinge tauschen konnte. Auch die Zeiten zwischen den Gängen waren genau richtig. Ich war jetzt zum Abschluß meiner Reha nochmal da. Es ist sonderbar alleine essen zu gehen, dank des großen Blonden wurde es ein wundervolles Mittagessen. Das Essen war super lecker 😋 und er erklärte mir genau welcher Fisch was war bei dem Edelfischteller. Danke nochmal und gerne wieder.

Wow, das ist ein ECHTER Italiener. Wir wollten nur kurz reinschauen, und wurden von den Exquisiten Düften der Küche förmlich "genötigt" zu bleiben. Die Nudeln mit Trüffel standen nicht auf der Karte, sie waren eine Empfehlung von Filippo, dem Kellner, der uns erst kulinarisch überwältigte und jederzeit mit seinem Amalfi-Charme unterhielt. Auch das Eis war ein Traum in Milch. Wir durften Alfonso persönlich kennen lernen, er erzählte uns von seinen Studien in der Universität der Eises in Bologna. Das war kein Abendessen, das war ein ganzer Italienurlaub in in 3 Stunden. Herzlichen herrlich schmackhaft köstlich. Mille Grazie!

Wenn es mehr Sterne zu verteilen gäbe, Da Alfonso hätte sie verdient. Dank eines Geburtstages durften wir uns einmal durch die Speisekarte essen. Ein Gericht leckerer, als das andere. Die Bedienung super nett und total lustig. Vielen Dank für die schöne Feier bei euch. Ihr habt die höchste Punktzahl verdient.

Wir waren zu viert dort. Wir haben 4 Mal ein Menue bestellt und Wein dazu. Das Essen war einfach gut, die Dorade auf Gemüsebett war sogar sehr gut. Das Preis-Leistungsniveau war sehr gut. Das Ambiente ist typisch italienisch. Die Bedienung war nett und schnell. Eine Vorspeise war nicht richtig, war aber nicht schlimm. Trotz Weihnachtsfeier, ging es relativ schnell mit dem Essen. ich würde wieder kommen. Fünf Punkte für das vernünftige Preis-Leistungsniveau. Wir waren wieder da. Mit 2 Hunden. Und es war wieder sehr gut. Einfach sehr authentisch.

Unaufmerksame Bedienung, ewig lange Wartezeiten (über eine Stunde, wir hatten bei der Bestellung gesagt, dass wir bereits Karten fürs Kino haben), keine Entschuldigung, kein Entgegenkommen. Darauf angesprochen meinte der Kellner lapidar: "Da müssen Sie sich beim Chef beschweren, aber nicht bei mir!" Das Traurige ist, es ist bereits das zweite Mal. Beim ersten Besuch dachten wir, okay, kann passieren. DEFINITIV DER LETZTE BESUCH!

Wir waren hier am zweiten Weihnachtstag zum Essen und waren großenteils positiv überrascht: Qualität und Geschmack des Essens waren sehr gut bis hervorragend - allerdings auch zu entsprechenden Preisen, bei denen ich durchaus schlucken musste. Was mir gar nicht gefallen hat: auf der Rechnung waren fast alle Speisen als "außer Haus" ausgewiesen: ein Schelm wer Böses dabei denkt...

We were guests with a large group for a birthday party. As always, it was excellent. Everything was perfect, everything was harmonious. The quality of the food was exceptionally good. We had a variety of antipasti – it was not only beautiful to look at, it melted in the mouth. The main course was also of the highest quality, as was the dessert selection. Wines by the glass and bottled wines are just as highly recommended. The service is warm and welcoming – and the owner and his family, along with the entire team, make you feel very comfortable. The ambiance is very tastefully and invitingly designed. Thank you for the successful celebration!

We were there as a business group of 8, with all the ups and downs that brings. Service was patient, helpful and thoughtful. They recommended good dishes and had great humor. The food was really good (honestly better than expected). I had the flank steak and was perfect. The pepper sauce was also amazing even though I normally don't eat much pepper. We shared a couple of desserts and they were OK but nothing spectacular (not when compared to the beef). All in all a solid choice for a restaurant, it offers more than what it seems at first sight. For me it was a surprise, recommended

My experience at Ristorante Da Alfonso in Bad Homburg was unique. The restaurant features comfortable outdoor seating, which creates a pleasant atmosphere, especially during moderate weather. The menu is extensive and varied, including many Italian dishes to suit all tastes. The dishes served are delicious and carefully prepared, and the service is attentive and friendly. The place combines quality food with a pleasant atmosphere, making it a suitable choice for a quiet dinner or a gathering with friends.

Food: Mostly very delicious. I particularly enjoyed the dishes with the red wine sauce (e.g., lamb) and the lime sauce with the fish. The fried potatoes were quite firm and dry after frying and deep-frying. The ice cream sorbet scoops are served very simply, but they taste delicious. Service: Polite, good advice, and not a long wait. Wonderful. Around 8 p.m., when the restaurant fills up, you'll need some patience or a nice conversation partner. Ambience: Beautifully decorated for Christmas. The table is beautifully set. The noise level can rise around 8 p.m., making comfortable conversation difficult. Unfortunately, there was still music playing in the background. Only the bass was audible. A recent visit was very disappointing. The food wasn't served properly warm. The madallion meat was more firm than I'd ever tasted before. The dumplings were undercooked inside. A goulash dish was served with noodles and dumplings as a side dish. I found the goulash portions to be too small. A scoop of ice cream was served carelessly. We had to wait an unusually long time for the dishes to be served. The rather high price doesn't match the overall quality. All four people in our group were dissatisfied with their dishes. On three previous visits, the quality was good. Then you're willing to pay the prices. However, the last visit was disappointing. This will probably be our last visit because the quality fluctuates so much.

We were disappointed with our experience at this restaurant. Our food order was incorrect twice, and one of the spoons brought to the table was very dirty. In addition, the waiter took my card from my hand and attempted to swipe it several times, which ended up blocking it. This was especially upsetting as it was our last night in Bad Homburg.

The quality of the food is excellent. The service team is friendly but could be more attentive, even though the place wasn't full. Unfortunately, it was impossible to have a conversation without shouting at each other. The annex has space for around 30-40 guests. Since it's uninsulated and has a corrugated iron roof, all noise is amplified. Unfortunately, the value for money isn't right. At these prices, you'd expect more. The ambiance, in particular, doesn't create the kind of cozy atmosphere you'd want for a meal. A return visit is a decision everyone has to make for themselves. We tried it once for ourselves.

Several of us came here to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere seemed just as attentive as the staff. One of the waiters felt he had to be overly funny, which was quite annoying, as he kept launching into some kind of sweary remark, thus disrupting the atmosphere. There were pieces of plastic in the soup, and the beef fillet, which cost around €40, arrived long after the other main courses and was well-done rather than medium. This didn't seem to interest the staff. The portions were also very small. The value for money here is not at all good.

We had lunch and sat outside in the sun. The personnel was fantastic and the food absolutely delicious. I tried the Flammkuchen and it was superb.

I hate to admit it but this is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. You are welcomed as if you have known each other for years, a totally open and friendly staff. We spontaneously went to Ristorante Da Alfonso last Sunday and were unfortunately disappointed. The location is central in the pedestrian zone in Bad Homburg and the staff also made a friendly impression at the beginning. However, we were placed on the covered terrace and there isn't really a nice atmosphere here. On the one hand, this is due to the outdated decoration, but also to the garden chairs and tables at which you sit and also to the Italian-pop music that is too loud and doesn't fit into the ambience at all. Unfortunately, our waiter was quite listless and inattentive and only did the bare minimum. He became a little friendlier as the evening progressed, but we weren't asked for dessert or coffee either. But what we particularly disliked were the outrageously high prices! Here the menu starts at €22.50 with a plate of pasta. Admittedly, the portion was large enough and tasted good, but it was nothing special and definitely not worth that much money. Apparently only an Easter menu was offered at Easter, which is why people were forced to order overpriced dishes. But the regular card is already expensive. We are certainly willing to pay accordingly for good quality and good service, but we had the impression that money was being made here with the location in Bad Homburg and a pseudo-chic Italian restaurant. We will not be coming back and cannot recommend the restaurant.

The last time I was here was 12 years ago for my mother's wedding and now again today. There was osso buco again. simply super delicious. very attentive and friendly waiters. Thank you very much for everything! We will definitely come back.

A small cozy Italian restaurant in the middle of Bad Homburg. The prices are a bit above average, but the service and the quality definitely are on par with expectations. Pasta Gorgonzola was definitely as good as I had in Rome. Service was quick and professional. EDIT 2025: I just want to add a little more based on our recent visit to this jewel of Bad Homburg. As of 2025 April this place still is 10 / 10 in terms of food, staff and overall vibe. If you are ever in Bad Homburg and want to spend a lovely evening go here - you will not regret it!

After two visits to Alfonso I can only say: Chapeau! The food is simply great, very attentive and quick service, a cozy atmosphere, but there is absolutely nothing to complain about. The PLV is more than okay, we have had different experiences in HG. We are definitely looking forward to the next visit! And no, this review is not an attempt to correct my supposedly negative and “mean” reviews (as claimed in a defamatory response from an offended golf course operator to my criticism) with this review. Alfonso absolutely deserves this rating and gained a new regular guest.

In addition to good food, there is a wide wine and drinks list. The staff is super nice and accommodating. Price performance is right, I would go there again.

We celebrated our daughter’s birthday here and we loved the experience. The service is sublime ! Waiters were so attentive that they would not allow us to pour our water, they were ready there. We requested some shells because our daughter asked if she can play with some and were offered some to play. The waiter serving us even sang a bday song and brought the desert with candles. Atmosphere: chic! White table cloth, napkins served nicely, beautiful fireplaces and warm. Food was amazing! Highly reccomend this place.

I'm surprised by all these positive reviews, but I understand that the Italians who live here have rightly forgotten good food so you satisfy them with little, but I'm a true Italian, and I avoid Italian restaurants abroad like the plague because I like to eat well... and to eat well you start with a very high quality product which cannot be found in Germany and then you have to know how to cook... unfortunately I found myself in this place not by my own will... But I knew how it would end, poor food not I liked nothing very over the top waiters... I'm not used to this type of service, I'm used to other restaurants... so what can I say, I hope to never go back again, very high prices for what I ate...

Eine Sinfonie für den Gaumen – ein unvergesslicher Abend im Ristorante Da Alfonso Am vergangenen Freitag hatten meine Frau und ich das Vergnügen, ein Acht-Gänge-Dinner im Ristorante Da Alfonso zu genießen – und es war nichts weniger als spektakulär. Jeder Gang war eine wahre Sinfonie für den Gaumen, meisterhaft zubereitet und perfekt abgestimmt. Der Abend begann mit einem liebevoll angerichteten Gruß aus der Küche, gefolgt von exquisiten Fischgerichten. Ein erfrischende und Rezeptoren neutralisierendes Zitronensorbet bereitete den Übergang zu den Fleischgerichten, bevor das Menü mit einer herrlichen Dessert-Variation und einem aromatischen Espresso seinen krönenden Abschluss fand. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir die exzellente Weinbegleitung, die jeden Gang aufs Beste ergänzte. Doch nicht nur die Speisen und Getränke waren erstklassig – beeindruckend war auch die herzliche Atmosphäre, die das Team um Alfonso Penna geschaffen hat. Mit spürbarer Freude und viel Liebe zum Detail wurde jeder Gang serviert, und das Wohl des Gastes stand stets im Mittelpunkt. A symphony for the palate and an unforgettable evening at Ristorante Da Alfonso Last Friday, my wife and I had the pleasure of enjoying an eight-course dinner at Ristorante Da Alfonso - and it was nothing short of spectacular. Each course was a true symphony for the palate, masterfully prepared and perfectly balanced. The evening began with a lovingly prepared greeting from the kitchen, followed by exquisite fish dishes. A refreshing and receptor-neutralizing lemon sorbet prepared the transition to the meat dishes, before the menu came to a crowning conclusion with a wonderful dessert variation and an aromatic espresso. We would particularly like to highlight the excellent wine accompaniment, which perfectly complemented each course. But it wasn't just the food and drinks that were first class - the warm atmosphere created by Alfonso Penna's team was also impressive. Every course was served with noticeable joy and great attention to detail, and the guest's well-being was always the focus. The Ristorante Da Alfonso is in the upper price segment, but absolutely worth every euro. We had 3x menus, 1x a la carte, everyone was very satisfied.

At the reception the waiter told me something about football even though I hate football! My wife was recommended to have hot sauce with her meal even though she doesn't like hot sauce! Had to be exchanged! My wife's salad wasn't done amazingly either. Ok, everything was fresh. The boss wasn't dressed appropriately for such a good restaurant. I used to be used to better things.

In einer freundlichen italienischen Atmosphäre wurden wir mit einem leckeren 4 Gang Menü verwöhnt. Ob Scampi, baby calamari oder Filet von der Königsbrasse war alles auf den Punkt und lecker abgeschmeckt. Der Service war stets präsent und freundlich.

I had assorted seafood pasta, beef Capriccio pizza, and a bottle of Sauvignon. There is a surprisingly large amount of pasta. The pizza dough was a little thick, but it was seasoned well. It was okay for me, but my friend who went with me said the pasta was a little overcooked.

Gluten-free pasta and pizza are offered, but the pizza is not suitable for those with celiac disease (prepared in the same oven and without an extra base). The staff seemed very stressed and unfriendly. It took a while before we could order drinks and we had to ask for the bill several times, even though it was almost empty by now. The food was also very expensive.

Amazing place. There is no wrong choice, I would recommend the classics: minestrone soup or bolognese pasta. The staff is amazing!

A very nice Italian restaurant. The food and service are great. Very relaxed and stylish. I have a super tasty leg of veal. This was buttery tender...and pasta with crawfish...just to die for. I highly recommend it and will come again.

The food is super delicious 😋 We had a fish platter beforehand that tasted breathtaking. For the main course I had pasta with seafood... What can I say, I was enchanted by the delicious fresh fish. I eat this often, but I've never had it this good. Last but not least, we had dessert which was delicious. And the service was great from starters, main courses and desserts. The waiters were just super nice and accommodating. In any case, it wasn't the last time we were there

For more than 20 years I have been coming back to "Alfonso", alone, with friends and big groups. This restaurant NEVER EVER FAILED to deliver sheer excellence! In ambiance, in choices of food and drinks, in service and in cleanliness! A great place to be, a family run business, always hospitable and friendly. Do not confuse with "asian" fish places. One expects prepared fish dishes from the Italian kitchen, not sushi or sashimi. For this you must visit other places! Bravissimo, Alfonso and Team! "professore"!!
