Ristorante Cumberland in Berlin

The hotel is buying fake reviews. They contatced me and asked for a fake review. Cannot recommend!

We Booked through Quandoo and arrived just to find out it was closed without any notice. So disappointed at how unprofessional and disrespectful they handle that. We came a long way for nothing.

I have been to this stylish restaurant several times with excellent cuisine and very good service. This was the first time I was there at lunchtime. I sat on the terrace on the Kudamm and enjoyed the well-kept ambience with excellent cuisine and friendly service.

A successful evening. The service there is very attentive and the food was delicious. Recommended wholeheartedly.

Lulled by cuddly Italo rock, you enjoy the extraordinary ambience, and the mediocre food tastes a little better in these magnificent rooms at the beautifully set tables. Oh, if only the food had been as good as the surroundings. Surrounded by a whole armada of white-liveried waiters, it is almost lost in the cheerful, friendly charm that we have not rounded up to 180 euros, so we cancel everything and hold the card again until it beeps, well, it went well again. We don't understand why the glass of wine cost 0.2 hefty 20 euros - we probably overlooked it when ordering. Mi scusi Signori, but we definitely won't be coming back.

A profound disappointment. The inside is in a lovely classic building and the service was attentive and pleasant, but the food? Mediocre food with an unimaginative menu that could have been taken right from any of the multitude of imbiss restaurants in Berlin. The worst was paying 120 euros with a .2 glass of wine at 20 euros I dont see how these restaurants will survive here because people like us simply will not pay these prices for this kind of food. Too bad..

On October 24th, the two of me had dinner and the service was incredibly fast, polite and prepared.

It's been a long time since I had such a good meal in Berlin! The food at Ristorante Cumberland was simply fantastic! The spaghetti allo Scoglio and spaghetti cacio e pepe with real truffles were a highlight, the fried fish was perfectly prepared and the original tiramisu was a real treat. The staff was professional, friendly and attentive. There is also a chic, very elegant location with a piano and warm light, which ensures an all-round successful experience. Absolutely recommended! For sure I will come back!

It wasn’t open when we got there. They must have not updated their hours on Open Table. We had to look for another walking-distance option last minute because the taxi had already dropped us off there. If you’re making a reservation through Open Table, I’d call the restaurant to make sure they will be open.

An einem warmen Abend Ende September war die Terrasse nicht wirklich voll, Dennoch dauerte der Aperitif lange - obwohl die Zubereitung von Garden Spritz nicht wirklich aufwendig ist. Auch bei den beiden anderen, die 10 Minuten später kamen, dauerte es ewig. Die Vorspeise war sehr gut, der Hauptgang gut, aber das Personal war mit sich selbst beschäftigt und fand sich selbst sehr wichtig. Die italienische Gastfreundschaft ist ja an sich sehr nett, aber hier kommt es alles ein wenig übertrieben und unecht vor. Es war nett, das Essen gut, aber der Service hat Luft nach oben - und es war absolut nicht voll!

Sensationally good Italian in a wonderful ambience We were guests for dinner in a large group and had a wonderful evening. Excellent Italian cuisine combined with attentive, friendly service guarantees a great evening. Conclusion: absolutely recommended!

Food and service are wonderful. Unfortunately, the €150 umbrella that was taken from me at the entrance was not found at the end of the visit. Apparently it was given to another guest. The restaurant manager wasn't interested in solving the problem either - the colleague who accepted the umbrella was already off work, so I should write an email... Unfortunately, the store fails because of its own standards.

What can I say? everything perfect, delicious food prepared and served with love, we were served by Angelo, who was very professional and ready to give great advice. Francesco deserves a special thank you for being attentive to all the details. I appreciate you hosting such a lovely evening for us.

Ich warm it meiner besten Freundin zum ersten Mal im Cumberland. Das Ambiente der Ristaurante ist herrlich. Das Essen war sehr lecker, nur der Service war leider schlecht, unaufmerksam und unangenehm. Wir hatten je 2 leckere Vorspeisen und Hauptgänge, auf die Nachfrage nach alkoholfreien Getränken brachte man uns die Weinkarte... Peinlich. Ich musste dann online schauen, was es an non -Alcoholic gab. Brot zur Vorspeise musste mehrmals angefragt werden bis es dann kam, 3 Scheiben für 2 Personen, da sollte man doch etwas großzügiger sein. Überhaupt musste man als Gast immer mehrmals nachfragen, bis das Gewünschte dann tatsächlich erfüllt wurde. Dabei muss gesagt sein, voll war es nicht. Das alles könnte durchaus Mal geschehen, was aber gar nicht geht, ist das Getatsche des Oberkellners. Wir sind zwei gute Freundinnen und uns wurde immer wieder ungefragt, von ihm eine Hand auf die Schulter oder den Rücken gelegt, das war wirklich zu zutraulich. Wir kennen den Mann nicht und sind keine Stammgäste, so bitte nicht.

At first glance, Cumberland doesn’t necessarily sound like Italian cuisine… ... but here the ambience (inner courtyard!!), service and cuisine are really great!!! This applies to all courses including dessert 👍 Thank you for that!!

A beautiful restaurant in the middle of the Kudamm. From the outside you wouldn't think the restaurant is that big. There is a small terrace facing the street and then there is a huge inner courtyard where there is also seating. We had a variety of dishes. I had the pasta with the lobster, the lobster half was quite small, but the food was still very tasty. The service was great, really courteous and of a high standard. The drawback is that the restaurant is so large that it is difficult to fill the place at all... This of course creates a different atmosphere than in a smaller, well-stocked place. It is a restaurant with upscale prices.

Das Essen war gut, aber uns wurden Weine angeboten / empfohlen, welche über Euro 100-110/ Fl. kosten - ohne jeglichen Hinweis auf den Preis. Den sah ich dann später auf der Rechnung…. Normalerweise wird man in Restaurants darauf hingewiesen, wenn Weine teurer als 50-60 Euro/Fl. kosten. Hier nicht so, also Vorsicht mit den Preisen….

La decoración y el ambiente de este restaurante es fantástico. Teníamos el dorado salado que estaba muy bueno. El servicio era bueno. Es muy caro, pero vale la pena el costo si uno puede pagarlo.

An almost bombastic entrance, a dignified, friendly reception, and a feudal-looking restaurant. One has the feeling that Konrad Adenauer and Charles dé Gaul will emerge from nowhere at any moment. Overall great cinema. The menu is decidedly classic. Incl. Spaghetti Napoli etc. Overall, nothing that you wouldn't know from elsewhere. The price level in the highest range. For the main courses, the so-called “filling side dish” is charged separately. However, there is no amuse geul, it remains ciabatta with olive oil. After a tasteless seafood salad and a tagliatelle with beef and mushrooms, we each had 2 scampi (€48 each) with some salad garnish. The scampi was served in the shell, as you would expect from the so-called Italian restaurant around the corner. The “plate presentation” like in a canteen. There was also a pepper sauce!!!! the sharpness of which brought tears to your eyes. No, sauces are not the chef's forte. In summary, a very nice restaurant, with an equally nice indoor terrace, but sometimes disastrous kitchen performance. There was no creativity or a wow experience at all. We will wait and see how things develop and take our cue from the star gastronomy that is abundant in Berlin.

Sehr schönes Lokal, strahlt Tradition aus. Gleichfalls eine schöne Terrasse Freundlicher, teilweise nicht immer aufmerksamer Service. Das Essen ist von insgesamt guter Qualität, der Geschmack indes sehr "hausbacken", ohne jede Inspiration. Ebenso die Präsentation auf dem Teller Insoweit für das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis insgesamt enttäuschend.

Ich war hier mit meiner Familie und Freunden Abendessen und es war eine Katastrophe. Der Kellner konnte nicht einschenken, das Essen war nicht gut (nudeln waren hart) und total überteuert dafür, dass es so schlecht war. Wir hatten Wein bestellt zum Fisch, der kam dann aber erst zum Nachtisch. Alle sehr verpeilt und wie gesagt viel zu teuer. Würde ich niemandem empfehlen.

A restaurant that I can recommend to everyone. The Cumberland offers a very sophisticated but warm atmosphere and both the food and service are excellent. After my first visit, the owners recognized me and my friends and we had a friendly chat! A perfect mix of fine dining and a family feeling that you rarely experience in Berlin!

The food is average, I took 3 different dishes and they tasted like „nothing special „. Long waiting time for dishes.

The ambience and especially the inner courtyard are unique! We became aware of the good recessions, but we cannot confirm them. The service was inattentive and not commensurate with the price. The dishes are very mixed, we recommend the Tartar di Tonno and also the Vitello Tonnato. Prosciutto e Melone very salty and the melon could have been riper. The zucchini with the saddle of lamb was inedible and gray, the saddle of veal cutlet was unseasoned and the cucumber salad served with it consisted exclusively of cucumber peel.

The service is the only thing which is Amazing at this place. The food is really small portion and it doesnt worth the price at all. Moreover we went there, the inside was closed so only 6 tables outside was allowed to be sitted, so we didnt use the inside at all which was schade. Basically we spent 80 Euros to have two Pasta and 2 glass of wines to sit in the street and eat small portion of food which we could easily do the same for 35-40 Euros with the same quality elsewhere.

Not recommended. Only the ambience speaks for the place. Unfortunately, the service staff is extremely inattentive and is more interested in watching football on TV instead of looking after the well-being of the guests. Added to this is the quality of the cocktails, which you would expect to be much better in a house like this.

Unfortunately, the restaurant, but especially the food, does not live up to the almost entirely positive reviews here. We had some dishes that tasted much better in comparable Italian restaurants. The ambience is quite nice, but unfortunately there is a lot of fake Kudamm customers. Service was okay so far, but it wasn't amazing either.

We had our Wedding here and absolutely loved it!!!! Mika and all the staff took so great care of us. Many of our guests said that this was the best food ever had at a wedding. We absolutely recommend to book this place exclusively as the front hall serves as a stunning party hall!

Great atmosphere, food very good, wine as well, service top

I stumbled upon this restaurant while looking for a place that offers gluten free options, which is challenging in Berlin given their love for schnitzel and wheat beer! Luckily I saw on one of their google reviews that they offered gluten free pasta, so I decided to try the veal ragu which was served with gluten free bread. The food was pretty good but what stood out was the outstanding service, the waiters were extremely professional, accommodating and attentive which I really appreciated as before finding this place I had an encounter with a really rude waiter at a nearby restaurant which almost spoiled my evening. If I am in Berlin I will visit again, and recommend it to anyone whether you need gluten free options or not.

Recently my best friend and I visited this restaurant and ordered a main course and a dessert each. The food was okay, but the service left a lot to be desired. The waiter was not service oriented at all and treated us badly from the start. We had to wait a long time and quickly realized that he didn't appreciate our low order volume and was probably worried about his tip. Since we don't drink alcohol, we only ordered water, which apparently was also negatively received. When I visit such an exclusive restaurant, I also expect good service, regardless of what and how much I order. Even in a snack bar we were treated friendlier than here. Despite the acceptable quality of the food, we cannot recommend this restaurant due to the poor service.

Well-intentioned advice: don't let the old bald man serve you!!! From the very first second you are harassed by him and he is shamelessly judgmental if you don't give in to his intrusive upselling attempts. My companion didn't like her aperitif, so she tried mine. As if they wanted to swap, he insisted on bringing her one too and collecting both of her drinks. We had to run after it (!!) and say that it wasn't necessary - especially since we hadn't placed an order. He became suspicious and said that this was no longer possible - completely absurd, since only 10 seconds had passed - because the drink was already ready. Even his manager emphasized that it was okay, and he only became more abusive. I've never experienced anything like that and I'm from the industry myself. It's a shame about the great location. The wine selection and food were exquisite. If he hadn't put pressure on us from the first second and behaved so disgustingly towards us, we would certainly have left more money. However, because of him, we consciously decided against it. The operations manager should think about rationalizing this guy away.

Both the seating on Kurfürstendamm, the ambience inside and then the beautiful inner courtyard are fantastic. The service, food and wine selection are very good. The restaurant is in an upscale location and is definitely recommended. We'll definitely be back.

We expected a lot from the previous rating of 4.8 but ultimately we were surprised by the high overall rating because our experience was rather below average. We waited a long time until we could order the food, because at first they only give out drink tickets so that you can order an aperitif. Unfortunately, the main course took a long time to arrive and was disappointingly small. I had a main course from the chef's recommendations that needed a side dish. The side dishes are only at the back of the main menu, which I didn't notice and wasn't asked about. With a price of around €40, you shouldn't be hungry afterwards. We asked how long a supplement would take and it was too long - even with the noticeable dissatisfaction with the situation, no solution was presented to “save” the course. The truffle pasta was served much more carelessly than you can see in probably old photos online. From the ambience you can say that it is a great place with good music. However, we looked at an open storage room and there were still decorated flowers that had already withered.

I was visiting friends in Berlin and luckily they introduced me to this place. The food was fantastic. I was in Italy and I can tell you that this is one of the best Italian restaurants in Berlin. The pasta and squid I ate were perfectly cooked. Our waiter Francesco was attentive and provided us with excellent service. If you're in the mood for a cocktail, the Mika Martini is a must. I will definitely come back on my next visit to Berlin.

Excellent Italian experience in GUMBERLAND We had the pleasure of visiting the GUMBERLAND restaurant in Berlin and absolutely loved our experience. The ambience is elegant and inviting, perfect for a special evening. The menu is a successful combination of classic Italian dishes and creative reinterpretations. We started our culinary adventure with delicious appetizers including handmade ravioli with truffle filling that were to die for. The main courses were no less impressive - perfectly cooked lamb chop with rosemary potatoes and the fish of the day with a delicate lemon butter sauce. As for service, the staff was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. The sommelier's wine recommendations were excellent and rounded off our dinner perfectly. Finally, we would like to emphasize that the GUMBERLAND restaurant is known not only for its exquisite food, but also for its authentic atmosphere and friendly, professional service. This was truly an unforgettable dining experience that we would recommend to anyone looking for excellent Italian cuisine in Berlin. We look forward to coming back soon!
