Das Sakura befindet sich zwischen Mülheim Menden und Essen Kettwig und vorab, ich empfehle es. Man bestellt pro Runde pro Kopf 5 Items aus der Karte, welche dann zubereitet an den Tisch gebracht werden. Man kann soviel Runden wie man schafft bestellen. Das Essen ist sehr lecker, ob Sushi oder gegrillte Speisen, alles toll. So kann man sehr viel Zeit dort verbringen und immer was bestellen. Wir haben im schönen Biergarten gegessen und fanden das Ambiente draußen sehr schön. Parkplätze vor dem Restaurant. Es ist zwar nicht preiswert, aber Preis Leistungs gerecht.

As soon as we walked in, only one person from the staff was friendly enough to greet us. We were offered several options for seating, which I thought was really good. Now to eat It's a mystery how so many people manage to sit there for so long. I have rarely eaten such bad sushi. The fried foods were okay but honestly, how could you go wrong?! The worst thing was by far the beef skewer, you couldn't taste what it was supposed to be and the duck was wobbly and not tasty at all. I'm rarely one to leave the restaurant early but we decided to leave before we were full.

I can't understand all the positive reviews, the sushi wasn't of good quality and definitely not freshly prepared. The fried side dishes were also not edible. I cannot recommend the “restaurant” and will definitely not come back.

We drove by at short notice and got a table without any problems (during the week). The staff was VERY friendly and the food was great. Everything was to our complete satisfaction. We have often been to other well-known sushi restaurants in the area (Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen), but Sakura has convinced us the most!!! So absolute recommendation!

The Sakura in Essen Kettwig is always worth a visit for me. It's a bit hidden on Mender Street, so you should keep your eyes open when you come for the first time. The food here is always a pleasure and highly recommended. Here you order in rounds using a tablet. A maximum of 5 dishes can be ordered per person and round. There are 5 rounds. All in all, there is so much to try from the menu. The dishes come in small portions. Nevertheless, hungry eaters will still be full and get their money's worth here. The Sakura Sushi and Grill Restaurant is a clear recommendation

Unfortunately, the quality of the food has deteriorated somewhat. It's a shame, we actually always liked it. But this was our second visit, where we were no longer impressed by many of the dishes.

Just WOW! Rarely have I had such delicious sushi for such a price. We arrived an hour early but were still warmly welcomed by the staff. After a short wait, we were able to go straight to our table and start ordering sushi and other Asian dishes using the tablet. Everything was there and every dish was tastier than the last. I can only recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in the area. We will definitely come back. Thank you for the lovely evening! 😊

Very tasty food. Large selection of sushi at the buffet. The rest is ordered with an iPad - up to 10 rounds of 4 dishes (small plates) per person. Even if you're a good eater, you can only manage four to five rounds, especially if you also eat sushi. Still very good value for money. The staff is very friendly and tries hard even when the house is full. The parking lot is large - since the restaurant is on the edge of Kettwig, this is also necessary. In summer it's great to sit outside under the parasol, inside the middle tables in the large winter garden in particular are quite loud, in the side rooms, niches and even at the edge it's quieter. Highly recommended!

I really enjoy going there, although not often. I wasn't disappointed with the quality of the food. Last Saturday, however, we had a waiter who apparently had little empathy. No “thank you”, no “please” and a listless face. But that was the only negative thing about the evening. All the other employees were very nice. But this young man has definitely missed his job.

This was by far the worst All You Can Eat of my life: -All dishes served in batter (tempura, gyosa, pancakes) were dismally limp. Oil temperature too low in the deep fryer? A stove connected to low current? -The sushi pieces deserve the rating “At least it looks like sushi on the outside”. Nobody who has ever eaten at a real, good Japanese restaurant would come here again: poor fish quality, subterranean rice in terms of taste and consistency -The beef had such a sour taste that it was inedible. We couldn't get it down and would have preferred to pay the “penalty fee for leftovers”. -The highlight was the bill: only then did we realize that some sushi in the middle (!) of the all-you-can-eat menu was subject to an additional charge. But it's written in so small that we didn't see it. A rogue who thinks evil. A memorable evening. It's clear that an all-you-can-eat can never be as good as a top Japanese restaurant. But that wasn't what we wanted...and we were still bitterly disappointed!

Unfortunately it wasn't so good last time. All dishes were cold, with one or two exceptions. After complaining, the duck was heated in the microwave, which didn't make things any better. Too bad for that. It shouldn't actually happen.

I don't understand it, maybe I'm one of the few who thinks that way. But many Asian restaurants are becoming increasingly poorer in quality and more expensive at the same time. How does that fit together? 🫰 The fish was tasteless and old. The sushi was sticky and rubbery - how can a restaurant with "sushi" in its name place so little emphasis on the quality of the sushi and then offer such a small selection? The supposedly Japanese cocktails were a disaster - after one sip we left them. What particularly bothered us: The staff didn't even ask why we didn't finish the cocktails. No interest in feedback – that speaks for itself. I also don't understand why some of the reviews we relied on were so positive. Do the other guests have no sense of taste? Or were we just unlucky? For me, the ambience was typically “Asian”, but also old and somehow loveless. At least it was clean and the staff was friendly – ​​that was the only positive thing. What I find particularly bad is that these “all you can eat” Asian restaurants are becoming more and more expensive while the quality is plummeting. This is unacceptable to me.

Of course, Essen has some other very good restaurants, but these are much more expensive, difficult to park and often there is no explanation about the dish or what you order. It would be nice if the selection could be adjusted and varied a little throughout the year. I always find fried sushi super delicious 😁. Unfortunately it doesn't exist here. After 10 years at Sakura, I wish there were other desserts that could also be booked, such as: B. Mochi 🍡. We still come here anyway. A little tip for many who don't like the quality: Come during the week or on the weekend at 5 p.m., then you'll get your sushi quickly, the quality is great and always looks tasty ♥ Always super tasty. Waiters recognize regular guests. You should definitely reserve a table on the weekend Drinks quickly at the table, good price-performance ratio We are here at least once a month.

Food, ambience and staff wonderful.

The restaurant is located just outside between Mühlheim and Essen rural surroundings. From the country road that runs past, you turn off to the lower-lying restaurant with plenty of parking spaces. You can eat both outside and inside. Outside, the tables are under large parasols, which is of course pleasant in summer. Due to the lower location and surrounding trees, it is pleasant to sit outside even at higher temperatures. The food itself is ordered as “All You Can Eat” with general conditions. Instead of an “analog menu”, each table receives a tablet for selection and ordering. Up to 10 items from the menu's starters, main courses or desserts can be ordered at the same time. After sending, a timer starts, after which the next order is possible. The ordered dishes are each freshly prepared and brought to the table one by one. This leads to a calm and relaxed process, which is pleasantly different from self-service "all you can eat" buffets where the food may be left for a long time. Of course, drinks can be ordered at any time regardless of the “10 position timer” rule. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service is friendly and attentive, so you can spend a lovely evening here. The food itself is very good and contains quite a few surprises, beyond what is generally known in this area. For example, I have developed a preference for Japanese pancakes 😋. The sashimi salad is also something very special. Everyone can discover their own favorites 😉.

Delicious sushi, the selection could be a bit larger and I also think it's a shame that you had to pay extra for sauces and certain sushi. The very friendly staff was positive. Each dish was brought to you in a friendly manner and explained again what it was. I've had to experience this much more impersonally in other All you can eat. Overall, a successful evening! I recommend the yuzu lemonade - very refreshing and delicious!

You will be asked whether you have been there before, if not, the system with the tablet will be explained to you before you order. The system is clear and should be easy to understand for anyone who can use a smartphone. You can order every 15 minutes. I was there with one person, so together we were able to add 10 items to the "shopping cart" per order. Drinks are not added to an order. So you can still order 10 dishes and 2 drinks without any problem. Drinks cost extra. I had to pay €5 for a 0.5l beer. The drinks are not cheap at all. You can order from All-You-Can-Eat every 15 minutes for 2 hours. Even if the food hasn't arrived yet but 15 minutes have passed since the last order, you can still order the next round. If you don't manage to eat something, you have to expect a contractual penalty. This is small, but it is added for every dish that was not eaten. It's easy to misjudge, the portions are small but when you're full, it's better to stop. The food is delicious, but for me personally the selection was quite small. You can pay there with a credit card. The menu even offers the option of dividing the buzzers, but I haven't tested this function and whether or not it can be adjusted further.

The food was delicious. Unfortunately, our table and the floor in the shop and also in the toilet were greasy and therefore not nice to look at. The guest's fingerprints were previously visible on the table. When asked, the table was then wiped. The staff seemed rather listless.

Very nice food and staff, sadly a little hard to reach when not driving a car

You can eat well here. Ordering is only possible via iPad, which takes some getting used to at first. But the second course was easy to order.

The service was nice, the orders came quickly and the electronics worked perfectly. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ends. The food wasn't particularly seasoned, some dishes were simply prepared from a can and the chicken on the yakitori skewer was still raw inside. Efforts have been made to create the ambience, unfortunately the street next to the restaurant doesn't help. Unfortunately we won't be coming back, even though we had really high hopes.

All you can eat sushi and grill comes quickly to the table via tablet order. Sushi and grill were very tasty. The selection was sufficient. Only the atmosphere could be a little fancier but otherwise everything was great.

You quickly get to grips with the digital system and the food is good. - a drawback is that the entrance and exit are difficult to see; when leaving, you cannot see the traffic coming on the left because of the greenery. People like to drive quickly here. But otherwise one 😎 thing 👍

The service, however, could be improved a little. The concept of the restaurant is that orders are placed via a tablet. This has the advantage that you can make your choice in peace and without being rushed. However, this means that there is no personal contact with the service staff, which often makes you feel particularly welcome as a guest. Even if you have specific questions or requests, it is sometimes more difficult to get help quickly and easily because you cannot turn to someone immediately. Nevertheless, the tablet system also has its advantages: orders are forwarded directly to the kitchen, which speeds up the process and means that waiting times are relatively short. The tablet also offers a clear display of the menu, often supplemented by images of the dishes, which makes the decision easier. Overall, the positive aspects clearly outweigh the negatives. Anyone who attaches great importance to excellent food and can cope with the digital ordering system will get their money's worth here. However, for those who prefer a little more personal service, it might be a bit of an adjustment. Nevertheless, the restaurant remains a clear recommendation due to its culinary quality.

Delicious food. Service was friendly. Food arrived promptly, even though the store was full. What we just didn't understand is why sauces take up a place in the order and then cost extra. And a 0.7L water bottle for €7.30 is just very expensive. Too expensive.

Very very very good service great

The restaurant has very tasty food and although you can still see that it was a different type of restaurant there before, the ambience is good and you feel comfortable. The prices for the drinks are also moderate. The only thing that bothered me personally was that not all deserts could be selected on the tablet and we only found out about the ice by chance.

We have been customers there for many years, from the beginning, when there was still a buffet. We were very disappointed today. The chopsticks were dirty and the table had glass edges. There was a hair on/in the beef, the tuna tasted fishy and musty, wakame were half raw and not salted. The selection was reduced again and the price increased again. Service was ok; we have never experienced it so bad there - and that cost us €85 for two people with four drinks. It's a shame, we really enjoyed being there with friends and companies, I wouldn't recommend it after today.

Parking spaces are sufficient but that is not an argument for a restaurant. Ambiance is mediocre from the perspective of tradition and shop design. Friendliness and service depends on the person. Anyone who likes it and tastes it is in good hands here. Unfortunately there is no alternative for us.

The selection of dishes is perhaps a little more slimmed down than in the restaurant chains with the same concept, but the sushi is more delicately seasoned. The service is friendly and quick. While other restaurants are fighting for their existence during the pandemic, Sakura in Essen is fully booked almost every evening. Hopefully it stays that way ;-)

It's quite nice. If you like sushi, it's definitely good, but there's still room for improvement when it comes to the warm dishes. There were nine of us with 2 tablets on the table. The dishes were very mixed up, often just put there and you were allowed to guess what it was. Often only lukewarm. Then you order rice and it is then put in front of you - without the side dishes - what can you say about that? My edit is: If so, then only with a maximum of four. Maybe that works better. Then another note: We only found out by chance that ice cream was included. Should be incorporated into this tablet card.

Both as a couple and with a family, the food and the ambience were very good. Price is ok considering the seemingly high quality food. Ordering with a tablet works reliably and relieves stress for both waiters and guests. Gladly again!

Unterm Strich finde ich das Essen sehr lecker, der Service ist gut, hier und da gibt es mal Probleme mit den Tablets. Aber ein absoluter Minuspunkt ist das Ambiente! Es ist usselig, keine Musik und vor allem A**** kalt!!!! Das ist auf jeden Fall ein Grund zur kälteren Jahreszeit dort nicht hin zu gehen! Nicht empfehlenswert

Wir gehen öfter ins Sakura und wurden bisher nie enttäuscht. Die Lebensmittel haben eine gute Qualität und alles wird frisch zubereitet. Schmecken tut es natürlich auch 😁. Die Wartezeiten waren gestern (Samstag) etwas höher, da es relativ voll war, was meiner Meinung nach aber zu verschmerzen ist. Das Personal ist immer bemüht und sehr freundlich. Der einzige Kritikpunkt ist meiner Meinung nach das Ambiente. Hier merkt man, das vorher ein Grieche das Lokal geführt hat. Der Versuch etwas Asiatisch zu wirken, ging hier meiner Meinung nach nicht ganz auf. Hier wäre eine Umgestaltung mal angebracht. Aber das ist nur ein kleiner Kritikpunkt, da der Rest stimmt. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Das Ambiente ist in Ordnung, alles ist sauber. Ausreichend Parkplätze sind vorhanden. Die Speisen sind lecker, leider fehlen teilweise Gewürze, der scharfe Oktopus war zb kein bisschen scharf, auch die Fleischspieße und Stücke sind kaum gewürzt und nur sehr leicht angebraten. Der Fisch war dagegen sehr gut gewürzt. Das Sushi ist in Ordnung, der Reis ist trocken. Das Sushi wird nicht nach Bestellung gefertigt, sondern ist vorbereitet, daher kommt es schnell an den Tisch. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an verschiedenen Speisen, darunter Fisch, Fleisch, Muscheln (diese waren besonders lecker), Reis- und Nudelgerichte und Sushi. Die einzelnen Portionsgrößen sind eher klein gehalten, somit kann man verschiedene Speisen probieren, oder das Lieblingsgericht einfach mehrfach bestellen. Besonders positiv ist mir aufgefallen, dass das Restaurant darauf achtet, dass nicht zu viel bestellt wird und kein Essen weggeworfen wird. Es wird darum gebeten nur so viel zu bestellen, was auch aufgegessen wird, ansonsten wird ein Aufschlag berechnet für die weggeworfenen Speisen. Ein Limit an Bestellungen gibt es nicht, man kann alle 15 Minuten 5 Gerichte bestellen. Satt wird man auf jeden Fall.

Waren schon häufiger hier essen und sind immer zufrieden gewesen. Leider hat die Qualität nachgelassen, vieles schmeckt einfach nicht… Desserts Auswahl lässt zu wünschen übrig. Für den Preis einfach zu teuer.

Waren das erste mal im Sakura und waren enttäuscht vom Essen. Wir haben querbeet aus der Karte bestellt, das meiste war ohne großen Geschmack und wenn etwas drauf war handelte es sich um die gleiche dunkle Soße, weshalb vieles einfach gleich schmeckte. Sehr schade. Der Service war okay - nett aber nicht sehr professionell. Für uns wird es bei diesem einen Besuch bleiben.

Das Essen ist sehr zu empfehlen. Es gibt eine große Auswahl an Sushi und an anderen warmen und kalten Speisen. Man wählt die Speisen über ein Tablet aus. Es kommen dann immer kleine Portionen. Wie man es in einem Sushi Restaurant kennt. Das Ambiente könnte gemütlicher sein.

Super Ambiente, man kann auch bei Sonnenschein mit Hund super schön draußen Essen, mitten im Grünen…. Sushi vom allerfeinsten, man kann soviel Essen bis man platzt, dazu gibt es a’la Card, witzig, jeder Gast bekommt 4 x 4 Portionen an Köstlichkeiten die man sich selbst aussuchen kann…. Ob vegetarisch, Shrimps Variationen oder Fleisch Spezialitäten. Nachtisch gibt es natürlich auch soviel ihr könnt, Super Qualität kann ich von Herzen empfehlen 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Super leckeres Sushi. Tolle Bestellmöglichkeit. Es gibt auch anderes Essen, das gegrillt und warm an den Tisch kommt. Für Sushi Liebhaber ein sehr gutes Restaurant.

Ich habe schon einige All you can eat besucht, dieses war leider nur gut. Bestellte Gerichte kamen sehr spät, oder nach mehrfacher Nachfrage. Einige Gerichte waren nur gedünstet nicht gebraten ,z.B. Lammkotlett. Der Service war echt schnell.

Ganz tolles ruhiges Plätzchen, ideal für gutes Essen in Zweisamkeit mit schöner Atmosphäre.

Nicht frische Ware dem Geschmack nach

Absolutes NoGo!! Hab noch nie so schlechte Sushi gegessen. Reis schmeckt nach Gummi. Auf Sushi Rollen und auf gebratene Hähnchenstreifen waren die Haare zu finden. Teilweise schmecken Inside-Out Rollen alt und waren ungenießbar. Auf Fisch für Inside-Out Rollen wird richtig gespart und es sieht richtig arm aus. Wakame Salat fast vereist und ausgetrocknet oben. Menukarte ist richtig klein. Kein vernünftiges Dessert, wie man bei Sushiläden kennt - zwei Sachen aus Teig und einzige Dessert, muss man extra zahlen. Sonst kein Eis, kein Kuchen und nichts süßes. Dafür der Preis genau so hoch wie in gute „all you can eat“ Restaurants in NRW. Spiesgarnelen haben den Abend gerettet und für den Laden 1 Stern verdient. Sonst ingesamt wir waren sehr enttäuscht.
