Rhönblick in Petersberg

We stayed overnight on our way back from Münsterland to Bavarian Swabia. The hotel was very suitable for our needs. The price/performance ratio was definitely good, and the location, just 10 minutes from the A7, was perfect for our needs.

Quiet location, great for dogs, great mattresses, great beer garden, everything you need for a restful night.

Restaurant: Above-average food at reasonable prices, a varied menu, plenty of regional dishes, as well as the highly recommended Scottish weeks and other specials. Gastronomy with heart and soul! The absolute highlight, however, is the mind-bogglingly broad whisky list. A must for every single malt lover... There are also regular whisky events.

Top address for good, down-to-earth cuisine and friendly service

From the moment we arrived at Rhönblick Landhotel und Restaurant, we were warmly welcomed and immediately felt at home. The hotel combines rustic charm with modern comfort - the rooms are spotless, cozy, and perfectly maintained, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Rhön landscape. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the restaurant. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece - beautifully presented, bursting with flavor, and made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The chef’s dedication to quality and creativity truly shines through in every bite. The breakfast was equally outstanding, with a wide variety of options to suit every taste. The staff deserve special praise - attentive, friendly, and genuinely committed to making each guest’s experience memorable. Whether it was offering local travel tips or making sure our dining experience was perfect, they went above and beyond.

This is not the first time I have changed my shoes at this location, I can recommend this place. And especially the "Rhöner Charme Cordon bleu" is very tasty.

While on a business trip, I sincerely thank the hotel and restaurant complex for the warm welcome, delicious cuisine, and atmosphere, in which even working days felt like a little vacation!

I've rarely experienced a place that exudes as much warmth, quality, and personality as the Landhotel & Restaurant Rhönblick in Petersberg-Steinau near Fulda. From the moment you arrive, you feel that hospitality is truly lived here. I was looking for a quiet, authentic place in the Rhön region that offers regional cuisine, a cozy atmosphere, and something special – and that's exactly what I found here. The Landgasthaus Rhönblick is much more than just a hotel and restaurant. It's a meeting place, a place of well-being, a place to enjoy the local culture, and a true piece of Rhön identity – with a touch of Irish flair that you wouldn't expect in this combination. I was particularly impressed by the whiskey bar in the Distiller's Lounge – a true highlight for connoisseurs. Over 500 whiskeys, expert advice, and a stylish atmosphere. Add to that the country pub, which immediately reminded me of Ireland – rustic, charming, with really good beer and honest service. This is a wonderful place to end the evening. Culinary-wise, it was a true experience for me. The cuisine clearly focuses on regional ingredients from the Rhön region: game from local forests, trout, seasonal vegetables, asparagus in spring, mushrooms in late summer – all freshly and lovingly prepared. The portions are generous but not overwhelming, and the quality is top-notch. I can especially recommend the venison dish – tender, perfectly seasoned, and served with an excellent red wine. I particularly enjoyed the view of the surrounding countryside. If you, like me, enjoy hiking or cycling, this is the perfect place: the Milseburg Cycle Path and many Rhön hiking trails are almost right on your doorstep. What really touched me was the warmth of the team. The host family embodies what you would imagine true Rhön hospitality to be: attentive, down-to-earth, and warm. Even though I traveled alone, I saw that the Rhönblick is a popular spot for celebrations, whiskey tastings, corporate events, or family weekends. Anyone looking for something special – with style, character, and a down-to-earth feel – will more than find it here. My conclusion: Anyone traveling in the Fulda, Rhön, and Eastern Hesse region – whether for leisure, as a couple, for business, or for sports – should definitely experience this place. The Rhönblick in Petersberg-Steinau is a real insider tip: regional cuisine, a family atmosphere, a perfect location, and that certain something. I'll definitely be back!

On my way home from Prague, I was looking for a hotel/guesthouse near Fulda. I emailed Stefan, the owner, who kindly replied and reserved two rooms for us. The area is very quiet and suitable for walkers and cyclists.

Today, a group of 12 people and I were at Rhönblick in the beautiful beer garden. It was my first time there. The food was absolutely delicious, from the presentation to the taste and portion size. The value for money was also excellent. The service was excellent, with super friendly and attentive staff. We felt very comfortable and had a wonderful evening at Rhönblick. We would love to come back.

I only know the restaurant; the food is very good and the service friendly. The whisky list is outstanding. Over 300 different whiskies at very fair prices. That alone makes a visit worthwhile; non-whisky drinkers will enjoy the charm of the Rhön region.

Muldoone ice cream is a real recommendation👍 as are the pork medallions Försterin.

I've been here twice for five days for business. Both rooms I stayed in had some issues. Breakfast was completely unfortunate, as was the lady who served breakfast; I've never experienced anything so unfriendly (that has no place in a hotel). Dinner was tasty, but the portion sizes varied from dish to dish. The atmosphere at dinner was always friendly and attentive. Some of the rooms have the same locks, so theoretically someone could use a key from another room to get into their own. The rooms are in need of a renovation.

Host Stefan is one of the best anyway, a professional at the stove and a great person that you have to look for for a long time today... his team around him Shouldn't be forgotten...a young team that is always on the ball and communicates with the guest at eye level, which is at least how I like it...

Everything cool and great. The internet connection just needs to be strengthened with a repeater in the guest house. I'd have to be content with free TV all week and there's just crap and advertising 🥴. But otherwise nothing to complain about

We have already been to the Rhönblick with part of the family. Last weekend we were there with 10 people from my family. Thanks to the whole Rhönblick team👍. Everyone in my family who stayed and ate with you for several days was very satisfied. The food, the service, the rooms are great... According to my family from North Rhine-Westphalia/Thuringia/Lower Saxony, Fulda and the surrounding area are also always worth a trip. It's definitely not the last time we've all been with you. If you're looking for a simple overnight stay with breakfast, you're in good hands here. The breakfast can be described as clear. The service is definitely trying, but seems very overloaded. We stayed there for three nights and probably wouldn't choose it again.

Good Landhof Hotel, has everything you need to stay for 1-2 nights, everything is nice and clean. Nice large beer garden, the menu is not large and has something for everyone, with enough choice for vegetarians. The staff is friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The portion of the pasta pockets could be larger.

A wonderful place to relax. There is a pub, billiards, darts, and a summer playground. Very tasty food. Huge portions. A burger with a juicy beef patty the size of my head. It also comes with French fries and sauce. Cost 16€. Also, one of the favorite dishes of this restaurant is crispy breaded chicken fillet with ram sauce and spaetzle. The menu includes rice, but we decided to replace it with spaetzle. Cost 16€. There was a new item on the menu: crispy chicken with pasta and lemon-coconut sauce, it was delicious. Price 19€. Prepared quickly.

You have to see it, i.e. the bar 😎🙂 The whiskey fan's eyes will overflow and of course something great for the taste - the regular tastings! The food is superbly prepared, I always have the feeling that they are working on the (next) Michelin star there - delicious. Also innovative ideas in the catering environment. But it's also nice for a nightcap, a beer after work. Every place should have a restaurant 👍😎

We just went out to eat with the family including grandpa. Since we know the Rhönblick from before, we thought we would go there. But we were very surprised that there were some discrepancies and that we experienced situations that we had never experienced there before. The service was friendly, but it really took forever to order (including the drinks) and the delivery... there was a mess at other tables. - One person didn't get any food at all while their guests were almost finished! - while only one lady takes the orders, one brings the drinks and another brings the food... a strange constellation of a service team for me I was really looking forward to my beef roulade with red apple cabbage, but a) it was very firm and the red apple cabbage was too salty and overcooked. We definitely won't be eating there again for the time being. Even if the atmosphere is quite nice and the furniture is chic, this is not enough to overcome others.

Für mich genau das richtige. Ich liebe Landgasthöfe / hotels. Der Service freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen, Hausmannskost verfeinert. Das Zimmer, zweckmäßig und gemütlich . Alles da was man braucht. Ich komme gerne wieder!

Wir waren eine kleine Gruppe und hatten Plätze reserviert. Das Lokal ist modern und freundlich eingerichtet. Die Speisen waren alle sehr gut - Qualität und Quantität. Die Bedienung war freundlich.

Auf der Durchreise habe ich in einem günstigen, sauberen und modernem Zimmer übernachten. Bequem und ruhig geschlafen habe ich morgens ein Basis Frühstücks Buffet vorgefunden, dass sehr gut zum Preis passte. Unterm Strich. Gern wieder auf meiner Nord Süd Route

Lantlig värdshus med biergarten

Einfache Unterkunft mit Restaurant, Bar und Biergarten. Leider war wetterbedingt der Biergarten geschlossen. Aber im Innenbereich kann das Bier genauso schmecken. Das Abendessen war gut, reichlich und schmackhaft. Das Frühstücksbuffet ist der Unterkunft entsprechend nichts besonderes, aber frisch und lecker. Für einen Zwischenstopp völlig ausreichend.

Ein sehr nettes und freundliches Team, auf das ich hier getroffen bin. Das Essen ist hervorragend und die Zimmer sind praktisch und zweckmäßig eingerichtet.

Grosse Portionen, das junge Personal darf noch etwas lernen. Folie zum Einpacken ohne Teller wird schwierig beim Transport.

Auf dem Weg in den Urlaub im Süden und zurück haben wir hier Station gemacht. Die Zimmer im Gästehaus sind sehr sauber gewesen. Ruhige Lage. Gute Boxspringbetten, in denen haben wir sehr gut geschlafen. Neueres Bad, aber zum Teil gibt es Zimmer die haben nur eine Regendusche ohne extra Handbrause. Trotz der Hitze waren die Zimmer angenehm kühl. Rolladen zum verdunkeln sind vorhanden. Die Stühle waren doch schon etwas zerschlissen und uns persönlich fehlte noch ein zusätzliches Kissen. Hätten wir auf Nachfrage aber wahrscheinlich auch noch bekommen. Das Frühstück ist sehr gut. Es wird alles nur in kleinen Mengen am Buffet aufgelegt, aber dafür laufend frisch nachgelegt. Es gibt allerhand Kaffeespezialitäten zum selber nehmen. Das Rührei wird für jeden Gast frisch und extra zubereitet. Obst und etwas Kuchen gab es ebenfalls. Wasser, Saft, Joghurt und Müsli auch. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder, vielleicht auch Mal für einige Tage länger. Sehr netter und hilfsbereiter Service. Auch das Restaurant ist empfehlenswert. Leckere Speisen, auch mal nicht nur das übliche.

Super Restaurant! Schmeckt lecker!

Grundsätzlich ist das Restaurant eine Empfehlung wert! In der näheren Umgebung, genießt das Restaurant einen guten Ruf und es sei grundsätzlich ratsam zu reservieren oder zumindest anzurufen, bevor man sich auf den Weg macht. Ich habe zwei kleine Kritikpunkte: (1) Schade, dass das 1/2 Hähnchen frittiert anstatt gegrillt sind. Das frittierte Hähnchen lag mir tagelang schwer im Magen. Das gleiche gilt auch für Hähnchenschnitzel. (2) Ich habe mir Rahmsoße zu den Spätzle dazu gewünscht, siehe Foto. Dafür würden mir am Ende 1,50 Euro zusätzlich berechnet (kein Problem). Allerdings würde ich mir wünschen, dass die entsprechende Servicekraft den Aufpreis bereits beim Bestellvorgang erwähnt. Super finde ich, dass sich die Toiletten bei meinem in einem sehr guten Zustand befunden haben.

Wir haben ein sehr schönes Wochenende mit sehr gutem Essen im Röhnblick verbracht. Die Landesgartenschau ist vom Hotel sehr gut zu erreichen. Die Zimmer sind sauber und der Service super.. Abends kann man sogar in einem Irish Pub oder im Biergarten bei einem Getränk den Abend ausklingen lassen. Wunderschöne ruhig und Ländlich gehaltene Gegend.

Die Gastronomie ist unserer Meinung sehr weit vorn. Geschmack, Qualität, Preis und Service. Vorbestellen ist ein guter Rat. Die Zimmer sind zwar teilweise modernisiert aber zerschlissene Sitzmöbel passen nicht dazu. Thema Sauberkeit, die Armaturen der neuen Dusche waren deutlich verkalkt....Frühstück sehr gut und ausreichend. Fazit: viel Licht und etwas Schatten.

Vorzüglichen Essen, nettes Personal, Tisch war reserviert, wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und werden wiederkommen.

Immer wieder lecker! Toller Salat und richtig gute Steaks. Aber der Rest ist auch gut :-) Wir kommen wieder.
