Nice restaurant near the Kalkberg. As already described in the name, the main theme is the Wild West, which is reflected in the ambience. The food is good and the price-performance ratio is also good. A very big thank you and praise to the service, the homemade nightcap was very good 👍. Many thanks to the entire team.

The service was friendly and the burgers were okay, but not something I need to come back for. The ambience wasn't that nice.

We were there on a Friday before the late show and had reserved a table in advance. The restaurant was full when we arrived and the staff were friendly but completely overwhelmed. The food we ordered came after waiting for over an hour - luckily we asked if it was still coming. The neighboring table had waited 1 hour 30 minutes! The food was "mediocre" - we won't go there again. Food ordered was forgotten, drinks were brought incorrectly and overall it seemed “cheap”. Next year before the performance we will go to another restaurant.

Kindly meant three stars for the food, it's convenience food and more or less comes from the deep fryer. The cocktails were good. Very nice service. The highlight was the view of the entrance barrier to the Karl May games - whoever invented a reason to pass through. And then was confidently rejected.

If only we had read a few current recessions beforehand... We settled here with friends and children in search of an evening meal. Actually the goal was “champers” on the opposite side. Unfortunately there was no possibility to sit outside. 2 of 6 dishes were not served as described on the menu: baked potato with broccoli, corn and hollandaise sauce. Instead of the hollandaise we got sour cream. The potato pockets were served with fries (the menu mentions baguette slices). The quality of the food was rather below average (all frozen goods) The fries taste good - if only they had been salted. Since we were given the old menu to order, almost all drinks were charged higher prices when paying. We addressed this immediately. Luckily we only had to pay the low price. All in all, it was a disappointing end to a beautiful day at the Karl May Festival. Conclusion: For the owner, a TOP location to get visitors to the Karl May Festival money out of their pockets with simple frozen food.

Simply brought large drinks even though none were ordered! Food was average

A quick snack is always available there before the Karl May games so that you don't have to get an expensive bratwurst there... The service was a bit lacking that day, as the cards were simply thrown at us and the waiter quickly left, then he came back to take our drinks, but he took his time with the food, we tried to find someone for 15 minutes I waved and no one came until after the 15 minutes! We had to wait 30-40 minutes for our food, but since you could really tell that the food was fresh and home-made, small but still delicious, you could ignore the long wait, the salad was also filled with fresh leaves. The fries could have been more. However, I think the Kiba I had ran out of cherry juice because they had to dilute it a lot. Overall, it's a very nice restaurant, even if the staff sometimes don't really pay attention to you, but the food was excellent, except for the small portion... so the expensive bratwurst had to be bought later... everything was great in terms of taste , so I can only recommend!

It was very crowded so it was expected that you would have to wait a little longer. But it would be better to give guests a rough estimate right from the start of how long it might take. We waited 15 minutes for a menu, then another 20 minutes for drinks and over an hour for the food. Some of the tables around us didn't get their food at the same time and also very late. My salad was okay but the waiting time was just far too long without any intermediate information. And a salad isn't quite as time-consuming now. From the name of the restaurants you would have expected a little more or a different ambience. So you can do it, or you can just move on and find something else. In any case, I wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't go there again. PS: Take a look at the profiles of the 5 star reviews. Most of them only wrote 1 review. That actually says it all :)

We were with 9 people. to eat . The large drinks were simply delivered, even though we didn't order them. Somehow the 3 meals we ordered were no longer available, while the others already received what they ordered. The reordered one didn't arrive correctly either. The food was cold. The invoice was written backwards, to their advantage.

The food was OK, average, not a masterpiece. If you order a schnitzel you get 2 small pieces of pressed meat. That says it all. Normally I wouldn't eat there again. The customers only include visitors to the Karl May Festival, otherwise you won't get lost there.

The service was actually good, the waitress was very nice, I ordered a salad that I couldn't eat. Some of the ham had dark edges, meaning it had been lying around openly for a long time. There is no trace of the dressing. Then there is a lot that isn't on the menu and they have a chalk board outside with things they don't have. However, the cocktail was good.

After having to shout the order across the long table (we had reserved for 10 people), the food came to the table lukewarm. The starter at the same time as the main course. The dip for the starter comes 5 minutes later. The drinks were not mixed properly, Spezi was 90% orange soda and Alster was 80% soda. We had schnitzel made from pressed meat that was fried to death. Plus almost cold fried potatoes with no taste and limp. Canned mushrooms fried in cream weren't really seasoned either. The burgers dry and black. There were also what felt like 10 fries on the plate. However, several bowls of fries were added (free of charge). Only the salad that was on the plate as a side dish was fresh and tasted good. The children's dish (nuggets) was fried so hard that a 4 year old couldn't bite them and they had to go back.

We received the cards to choose from pretty quickly. And then they left him. A Mexican burger and a finger food plate with three dips were ordered. First we were served lukewarm cola. A request for ice cream or a colder drink was not even noticed because the men and women in service were very busy with themselves. The wrong dishes were served several times at other tables. The left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing. The food on the finger food plate was completely fried and bone dry. The three dips (garlic sauce, yoghurt sauce and curry ketchup, each from the bottle) didn't help either. The snack bar I trust does this much better and cheaper. Cheap goods from the supermarket are sold there for completely inflated prices. Unfortunately sh...! The burger was very burnt on one side and the only thing Mexican about the burger were the three jalapeno slices hidden under the top half of the bun. Because there wasn't much time left before our performance by Karl May, we ate it anyway, according to the motto that hunger and lack of time forced us to eat it. It's not really worth describing the atmosphere in more detail. Bare walls, unironed table linen, sagging sofas didn't exactly contribute to the feeling of well-being. I say with a shudder because even after hours of eating this meal I find myself belching, thanks for nothing!! You definitely won't see me again. A little advice, please take a crash course in service. And please, please, please fire the chef. He can't do anything.

Unfortunately, the external impression is very misleading! At the beginning we had to ask for the table to be wiped clean. The drinks came non-carbonated and warm. It took almost an hour for the starter to arrive. Unfortunately, it was a completely dark brown baked frozen product. The waitress disappeared again as quickly as possible after she put them down and didn't bring the dips until 10 minutes later. It took another 15-20 minutes for the main course to arrive and again the frozen cordon bleu and the farmer's breakfast only came fried on one side and cold. We then gave it back and were told that it was all just frozen goods and that they didn't have anywhere to say that it was fresh. Just a failure.

Great veggie burger and crispy fries!

8 people with reservation for 5:30 p.m.: Food arrived at 7:10 p.m. Three meals were missing, two came and one was missing. Furthermore, 3 supplements were completely missing. Some of the fries were not properly fried and were half raw. The burgers themselves weren't good either. At least the owner accommodated us regarding the bill. When we wanted to leave, the missing sweet potato fries arrived. Too bad.

Were there some time ago... Shortly after opening, the restaurant was empty. I think it depends on who serves you in service... Our young lady was extremely unmotivated and didn't even know her own menu... Unfortunately she was also rather unfriendly... The lady at the counter puts the filled glasses at the top Touching the edge of the tray... Later a gentleman came along who at least apparently knew what to do in service. (At least one...) All I can say about the food is: standard ready-made meals... Nothing special... We wouldn't recommend it, the children were also disappointed... On the topic of the name "To the Wild West" there is an appropriate and beautiful wall design... The seating is rather outdated... At least during the festival season you could bring in a lot more character with just a cowboy hat during service and when you're up If you want to jump on the Karl May bandwagon, then you should be able to do that and go for it... or simply rename the store... With a little more love and perhaps also the will to adjust the guests to Karl-May and to honestly show the flair of the Wild West, you could definitely make it more of an experience for the guests and simply make children's eyes shine... So for us it's unfortunately only 2 stars: Bad service, run-of-the-mill food and considering there was nothing going on, it just took too long... You make the children happier at McDonalds... The food is the same and the price then even lower... To all Karl May goers: Have fun! We were thrilled like every year :-)

We were eating here today before the Karl May performance. Honestly, I can't recommend this restaurant. In addition to the long waiting times for drinks and food, this is not recommended and completely overpriced. We had a baguette. The bread was not fully baked and was soggy. The topping was unseasoned and bland. The finger food plate was so greasy from the fryer grease. Some of the mozzarella sticks had completely run out. The lettuce that was on the plate as decoration was partly already wilted. The only thing that was actually edible was the currywurst with fries. All in all, I can confirm the bad reviews. Unfortunately there is absolutely nothing about the store that is 5 stars and it lives purely from the era of Karl May games.

cozy restaurant with good food and nice service

I've never had to wait so long for my food. After three quarters of an hour we asked how long it would take. We were told it would take about 8 minutes. After an hour the same waiter came and asked if we wanted to pay now. At that point we still didn't have our food. Then it was said that eating only took 2 minutes (the specified 8 minutes had now been reached for 20 minutes). We didn't wait for the food anymore and just paid for the drinks. The staff seemed extremely overwhelmed and stressed the whole time. We weren't the only ones who felt this way. Other guests in the same room also had to ask for their food multiple times. So it doesn't seem to be an isolated case. If you want to eat here, you should plan a few days of vacation. Edit: Apparently a lot of negative reviews are being deleted. Additionally, fake 5 star reviews are created by accounts that have never reviewed anything before. These appear to be either purchased bots or restaurant employees...

We thought it would seem to be a good restaurant. After waiting for 10 minutes we were assigned a table - so far everything was fine. After no one came with the menu, we knew how to help ourselves and opened the menu via the website. After 20 minutes, someone came to our table for the first time and was surprised that we didn't have any tickets yet. But we were able to order directly from the online menu - drinks and food. After another 20 minutes our drinks finally arrived. Apparently no one has ever heard of a foam crown on a beer... even the ice cubes in the cocktail were just water... they probably forgot about us... after an hour our food still wasn't there, so we thought we'd give it a try ask how long it will take. Answer about 8 minutes. After another 15 minutes still nothing.. so asked again... 2 minutes the answer.. after another 5 minutes the waiter came and asked: you wanted to pay right? NO NOT RIGHT, we really wanted our food. Since we had nothing to eat on the table after a total of 90 minutes, we decided not to accept the food anymore. We then had to pay in full for the drinks, which weren't really satisfactory. At a moment like this you expect that the owner of the restaurant might come to the table and not send his staff ahead. By the way, the same thing happened to a neighboring table as we did...

Cozy restaurant, nice service, gladly again!

The first impression is deceptive. Unfortunately. Service and hospitality are not particularly important in this restaurant. Waited more than an hour for the food and before the food comes the bill is offered, the drinks are brought to the table incorrectly and are not cold or watered down. Unfortunately, this seems to be an isolated case, as we experienced the same situation at our neighboring table... Here one person doesn't know what the other is doing. The boss shirks responsibility and sends his overwhelmed staff forward, who also become rude when criticized. If the owner intends to have this review deleted, we can refute it. Anyone who takes such measures really has something to hide.

Just bad! Unfortunately, the food here was absolutely disappointing. The cola was lukewarm and you had to wait 20 minutes for it alone. The meal itself takes an hour!! took so long and I wonder what could have taken so long. It couldn't have been the cooking time. I had the turkey schnitzel with fries. The schnitzel was just frozen goods and the pieces were all the same shape. In addition, the parts were fried almost to death. Dark brown edges and dry breading that made you lose all enjoyment of eating. I left the “schnitzel” pieces lying around. No one asked if it tasted good either. We were offered a “schnapps” on the house, but it was offered to everyone (including minors). When we paid, there was no question about how it tasted, why so much was left behind or whether something could be done well. The price for this dish was absolutely not justified. The ambience was also very disappointing. Loveless and without any real sense of the topic. A lot of things were thrown together on the map. Spring rolls, schnitzel, spaghetti Bolognese - no concept, no quality. Sorry, but I wouldn't recommend this anymore!

1. You wait over 20 minutes until you get a card and then you get a warm Coke 2. You've been waiting for over an hour and the child is the last to get his food. Food not really seasoned, burger buns and patties burnt. Something like that shouldn't be allowed, but the owner thinks: "They only come once anyway, so it doesn't matter." Conclusion: keep looking for another restaurant

Probably the worst restaurant I've ever been to!! I paid a whopping €27 for a few frozen chicken wings (6 pieces) with potato wedges and a portion of fries + a large beer. The service was nice, but completely overwhelmed and overscented! Unfortunately she also didn't know the difference between Hefeweizen and Pilsner. The positive thing was that I didn't have to spend the whole night in the toilet after 'eating'.

The four of us were there last Saturday because we were very satisfied the year before. This time the restaurant was very full and more and more guests came, so that the seats in the back room were also taken. After the order was taken, the drinks were brought. The beer wasn't chilled so we asked for ice cubes. We ordered an appetizer platter and four meals. After three quarters of an hour the starter came and three of the four meals came. We complained about this and the waitress took the food back with her eyes rolling. When we got the food, mine was only lukewarm. This was communicated to the waitress. She said the food was warm and put the back of her hand on the fries to test it. She took the plate back with her, only to bring it back straight away. I should get new fries. However, the currywurst was only lukewarm and was not replaced. When paying we pointed out the problem to the waiter. He apologized and offered us another drink, but we were served. We won't be visiting the restaurant again. If the kitchen and the staff are overwhelmed with so many guests, you have to limit the number of guests.

Unfortunately very disappointing. Very long waiting time, even though the restaurant was not very busy. The service staff tried hard, but was overwhelmed. The starter came at the same time as the main course. The children's court came last. The schnitzel and the cordon bleu were frozen goods, pre-breaded molded meat, fried for far too long and therefore hard and dry. The fried potatoes without seasoning. The burger patties are almost black, but still rather lukewarm, but the salad is crisp and fresh. The women's toilet was not clean, everything was full of cobwebs, two of three urinals in the men's toilet were broken and there were dirty ashtrays hanging on the wall. The schnapps was nice to say goodbye.

After Karl May decided to eat there with the rest of the gang. The reception seemed quite annoyed, there were 10 of us. First of all, the ambience: it doesn't quite fit the name. Drinks: Alsterwasser was more fizzy than Alsterwasser. Another drink was also ordered, but it never found its way to the table. Hugo wasn't a real Hugo either. Ordering went so-so, the waitress didn't want to move much, in any case we had to shout across the entire table. Food: the Jägerschnitzel were completely fried, with some black on the inside. The mushrooms in the hunter sauce were from a can. The burgers were cold, some of the patties were as hard as the sole of a shoe. The starter also came with the main course. Service: The service seemed overwhelmed and asked several times, but she was still the most attentive that evening. We waited almost an hour for the food, the restaurant was empty except for 3 other tables. The amount on the plates was divided differently. So we're definitely not coming back.

No soap, paper or working air hand dryer in the men's room. They had no olive oil for the salad and the pasta was out of 1 of 2 options on the children's menu. Too much lettuce to be a Greek salad.

The restaurant is designed for walk-in customers. Unfortunately, this is very noticeable in the quality of the food. The schnitzels are frozen goods that probably fell off the truck at Netto. However, the prices are very juicy. Despite the store being full, the service was very friendly and the drinks and food came very quickly. The homemade ice teas are also very tasty. Hence two stars.

Wonderful Friendly, customer-oriented, Delicious food. Waiting times are appropriate for the location and the fresh preparation. We had a very tasty meal, were served very nicely and can only recommend trying it, it's not a fast food restaurant, bring some time and you'll be amazed.

I can't understand some of the reviews, I ate here with my family and was thrilled. Top staff, good prices all around recommended. I'm often in the area and would love to come back.

All in all very sobering on July 6th, 2024 Based on the name, I would have expected a little more ambience and service clothing to reflect the theme. A few pictures on the wall (like you find in almost every pizzeria) don't save the ambience.....not. The music, which was played in a small box hanging from the wardrobe, also had nothing to do with the Wild West. I would have expected country here or something from Morricone. The drinks took a relatively long time and were not very cold, despite the ice cubes. Offered as homemade iced teas, they reminded us more of lemonade. There was no request for another round. Guests who also want to eat are probably preferred. There was a different service when paying, but she had difficulty giving out €20 to €50. A few minutes earlier she was able to give commands to her colleague over our heads. Unfortunately, this was very unpleasant The invoice did not (yet) have a tax number (according to the note on the receipt, this had been applied for). Overall, the website doesn't seem to be finished at all. There is currently no imprint or data protection declaration. A mobile phone number is stored as a contact, but it cannot be reached. All in all, I don't have to come here again. It seemed very chaotic and loveless. This was helped by cables hanging out of the frame and broken glass from the wall lighting.

The visit to this "restaurant" was one of the worst experiences we've had in a long time. A table was reserved for us. Nobody from the staff knew anything about it. Okay, that can happen. Then we were put in a room I haven't seen such a run-down shack in a long time. One of our tables was missing a glass top, one of the chairs lost its backrest and the rest of the seating was completely dirty Room. The floor tiles were partly loose and broken. Pictures were completely messed up and crooked on the walls. You had to go past the service staff's workplace. Then we managed to order drinks sometimes, such as the "large beer", were only half full. With that we then ran to the counter and asked the employee to fill the glasses, which he did. After some of the other guests left the restaurant before ordering, we had the chance to order something to eat. Well, what can you say? Everything was more or less finished products that just had to go into the deep fryer. And that was anything but good either. So all in all a disaster that was only made worse by the overwhelmed and untrained staff. I prefer not to say a word about the sanitary facilities. Please give this store a wide berth. An absolute 6.

As an addition, another note: If you believe the announcement via Googlemaps, this business opened in April 2023. Since then, there has been no imprint or data protection for the website, let alone tax number for the cash register? As a guest you wonder how much planning and passion goes into this business. An absolute disaster and absolutely not recommended to eat here before or after events. We wanted to have a relaxed meal before the Karl May games and arrived at around 6 p.m. The drinks arrived quickly and were in a pleasant quantity. At dinner we ordered two salads. After waiting for an hour we had to speak to the staff and then suddenly the food arrived. However, there was no cutlery, there was plastic in the salad and the staff didn't really help. It wouldn't be appropriate to be "cheeky" if you complained about the poor service and then to ask for the full price is rather cheeky. Here, too, several guests were heard complaining, only paying for the drinks and canceling the meal. Disappointing and definitely not recommended.

We were there last night shortly before the start of a concert in the Kalkberg Arena. When we wanted to reserve a table for three people the day before, we replied in a rude tone that it wasn't possible for just three people. But since the reviews here on Google were otherwise quite good, we still wanted to give the store a chance. When we arrived there were still a few tables available, but we were immediately warned by other guests that you should obviously have a lot of time here - they were talking about two hours. At first we thought this was grossly exaggerated, but that apparently was a mistake. While we were waiting we witnessed several loud discussions between the other guests and the staff, as a result of which these angry people only paid for the drinks that had already been served and then canceled the main courses. I've never experienced anything like that anywhere. This apparently accelerated the orders of the few remaining guests, including ours. However, when our food was served, we discovered that the patties on our burgers were already slightly charred. In addition, at over €14 per portion, they were also relatively small. For our part, we suspect that they were apparently not at all prepared for how many staff would have to be available to handle such a spontaneous rush at peak times. A situation that can perhaps be avoided if you do not turn away reservations from even smaller groups. If they don't learn quickly, I see black for this restaurant. We definitely won't be coming back again.

Unfortunately I can't understand the bad reviews. We were there on a Saturday. It was already full when you expect the meat to be on the table after 10 minutes at McDonalds. We waited 30 minutes and that was completely fine. The food was very tasty and fresh. Drinks were delivered promptly and even special requests were fulfilled. We will definitely come back when we are nearby. We found it very tasty
