Restaurant am Ihlsee in Bad Segeberg

I attended two events, December 13th and 15th, and was impressed with the food, service and ambience both times. Wish the entire team a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

We have been coming here for Christmas dinner with the family for several years. Some of us are vegan and there is always something on the menu that is vegan in itself or can be changed with the help of the service. It is not a given in restaurants that commitment is shown to making the food vegan.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Beautiful view of the Ihlsee. Fantastic, especially in the open-air season. Top service. Pleasant staff who know what they can do. Very good tasty meals. You just feel good. We've been able to eat and drink in the restaurant a few times and have a good party, and we'll do it again.

The Bad Segeberg men's choir from 1840 has been celebrating its Christmas party in the Ihlsee restaurant for years. It's absolutely great and recommended. The food was great, the service was quick and, above all, always responsive to the guests. And the boss Lutz Frank is always on site and keeps the guests happy. We were there very spontaneously last week. Despite a celebration in the hall, we received wonderful dishes very quickly. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is just great. Thanks for the great evening that we were able to end with you.

Last week we went to the Restaurant am Ihlsee for a lovely evening as a couple. First of all, we were given a really warm welcome and the atmosphere is just great. We had called in advance to say we would be 20 minutes later than planned and were informed that the kitchen would then only be open for 10 minutes. But there was still no stress whatsoever when greeting us and ordering. As a starter we chose a very tasty fish plate, which I can absolutely recommend. There was also salad from the buffet. Here I was missing an Italian dressing or just vinegar/oil, but otherwise the salad selection was good. For the main course we chose roulades and salmon (each served with croquettes). Unfortunately the salmon was far too dry and therefore not really edible. Since the vegetables and croquettes served with it were very tasty and I had initially hoped that the piece would be juicier in the middle, I was full before I could point this out to the waitress. But she then acknowledged it without saying too much. The roulades were okay, but not a highlight either. We then ordered a coffee and I asked for lactose-free milk for the latte macchiato. This was answered in the affirmative, but unfortunately oat milk was delivered. Not bad for me personally, as I would have agreed to oat milk, but there are plenty of people who don't like or tolerate oat milk. Even though we generally really liked the atmosphere, it was a bit disturbing that we were sitting relatively close to the cash register and then a large group who had apparently had a training session or something similar in a separate room were checked in and now each one individually had to pay for his drinks. Since it was dark, we unfortunately can't say anything about the view. Finally, I would like to emphasize once again the really good and friendly atmosphere in the service team. Everyone was excited about their job!

We received a very warm welcome and were shown to the place. The meal I had (roulades with fried potatoes) was very tasty. Everyone else's food at the table also tasted delicious. Great location with a fantastic view of the lake. 👍

We went to the restaurant for the grill buffet. The restaurant itself has a very nice location right on the lake, which you can also look at while eating. There is a large parking lot right in front of it. Unfortunately, the grill buffet was not up to expectations. First of all, the distribution of the buffet across several rooms was unfortunate. The rather sparse cold salad buffet was in a hallway, while warm dishes were in a room that was actually large enough and in which no guests were seated. The grilled meat was grilled on the terrace behind it. There was a large selection of warm dishes such as potato casserole, fried potatoes, mixed vegetables in a creamy sauce. Unfortunately, the cold dishes were less varied and often came with a sauce. Various types of meat could be seen on the grill, but only one large type of bratwurst. At the opening of the buffet, some pieces of meat were still very raw (statement from the man). The desserts that followed were again diverse, but sometimes difficult to identify. For example, the supposed blueberry cream (?) only tasted like nuts. The selection may be sufficient for some visitors. However, it was difficult to find something suitable for our family with small children. Neither small sausages nor simple vegetables (except cucumbers) were available. Therefore, we unfortunately cannot recommend it for families with small children or dietary restrictions (lactose, vegetarian, etc.), but it may be a good opportunity for guests with fewer restrictions.

Very attentive service. The restaurant is next to an outdoor swimming pool and has a terrace with a lake view, which I also used after my hike around Lake Ihlsee. As a vegetarian with only a small appetite, I asked if it would be possible to get a simple portion of fried potatoes without the bacon. That was completely unproblematic and also that I wanted to sit outside, even though a little drizzle was approaching. The fried potatoes were freshly prepared (which is no longer common in every restaurant). Gladly again!

We had a very nice wedding celebration in the restaurant at Ihlsee with delicious food and great service.

Fries are no longer offered in the outdoor pool BUT they are available here for a whopping 4.50 euros. Definitely overpriced, such a price doesn't have to be the case for such products. But I can't say anything about the restaurant business because I was put off by the price of fries. But it looks good and is in a great location.

Breakfast serving was really great. Fish, meat, eggs, toppings, jam, yogurt, dessert, bread 🍞 rolls great.

Nachdem bei unserem Besuch (Einladung auf meine Empfehlung hin) einige Sachen im Service nicht so gut gelaufen sind und ich diese moniert habe, kam sofort eine Rückmeldung seitens des Inhabers und eine sehr nette und großzügige Entschuldigung. Auch ich habe die Erkenntnis bekommen, dass man seine nicht erfüllten Erwartungen seitens des Service sofort anmelden sollte. Das Essen war in jedem Falle hervorragend und wie immer empfehlenswert. Sehr gerne kehren wir im Ihlseerestaurant wieder ein.

We ended up here in transit and of course didn't read the website properly. It clearly says "hot food until 8 p.m."... we only saw the opening time until 11 p.m. At 8:10 p.m. we sat at the table and were able to order. Even though we were way late, we got a great meal - even a vegetarian meal was no problem! The staff was super nice, even though the kitchen was already closing time. Everything was very tasty and plentiful. Next time we definitely won't end up here by accident! Price/performance is completely fine. Thank you again!!! 😀

Very good restaurant where you can have a great party. I was there as a DJ for a wedding reception. The food + drinks and service were great. The large hall is ideal for celebrations (even for larger parties) - with a beautiful view of Lake Ihlsee. There is also a large terrace so that you can be outside when the weather is nice (also ideal for smokers). Everything is on the ground floor and there is plenty of space. The furnishings are modern - not exceptional, but very suitable and functional. There were actually no restrictions in terms of volume when celebrating, except that the doors to the terrace had to be kept closed at a later hour. I also thought the acoustics of the hall were very good. The sound was crystal clear and easy to hear. WiFi for guests (and for the DJ) is also available. The music can be streamed easily. Good parking space in front of the location. All in all, I can highly recommend this location - ideal for celebrations such as weddings, family celebrations, etc.!

I celebrated my birthday - theme party - red carpet - in the restaurant at Ihlsee. Mr. Lutz Frank and his team implemented my ideas and ideas 100% percent. The service was professional, friendly and courteous, the communication was easy and flawless, the food was excellent, and the ambience with the lakeside terrace was unique. My guests and I had an unforgettable evening and a night full of dancing. I will definitely celebrate there again. I can recommend the restaurant without reservation. Our daughter's wedding took place here on August 17th. celebrated. Ambience great, food very tasty, service at its best. It couldn't be better!!

We were there with a group (hiking club). Reservations for coffee were easy. You get the cakes/cakes yourself from the buffet and they were all very tasty. The drinks were also brought quickly and the coffee was a real treat. I will happily come back here!

We celebrated our wedding in the restaurant at Ihlsee. You could enjoy a fantastic view of the lake throughout the entire celebration. The food was very delicious. The entire service staff was very accommodating. Maya in particular will be remembered fondly. All of our wishes were fulfilled and it was pleasant and relaxed planning with the owner Lutz Frank. We have received very positive feedback from our guests. We can recommend the location for weddings and other celebrations.

Warm cola (5.20 euros!!), apple juice and Sprite, which were pretty bland. Even after we asked for ice cubes, the penny didn't drop. With the bruschetta, only the bread was fresh and tasty. The tomatoes were mealy and covered in tasteless cheese, which is not usual with bruschetta. The salad bar was OK with 6 bowls to choose from but unfortunately only 2 dressings and no vinegar/oil dressing for those who like a lighter option. The fries were forgotten and came undercooked after everyone else had already finished eating. The service was inattentive and indifferent. The toilets smelled strongly of a heavy perfume. It's a shame, because the view is definitely nice if you get a good table. Far too high prices for warm cola and half-frozen fries. You can easily park right in front of the door if there is no celebration taking place.

Attended the 90th birthday as a guest. Everything was a success!! Note: I have never eaten such delicious beef fillet! Keep it up!

We celebrated a big birthday in the ballroom of the beautifully located restaurant on Ihlsee. The preparation and coordination was very pleasant, uncomplicated and flexible. The celebration itself was perfect. A beautifully furnished and decorated banquet hall, a large terrace with a wonderful view of Lake Ihlsee in the best weather, a very friendly and attentive service team, a rich and delicious cold and warm buffet - what more could you want. Many thanks to Lutz Frank and his team. You helped ensure that our guests and we will remember this beautiful evening for a long time.

Very nice restaurant on Ihlsee. There is plenty of free parking right in front of it. It was pleasantly air-conditioned inside. We sat outside on the terrace overlooking the lake. The staff seemed in a good mood and very friendly. We ordered the Ihlsee plate, which came with delicious slices of roast beef, sour meat and two types of herring. This way we had “a little bit of everything” and didn’t have to make difficult decisions when we were hungry! Remoulade sauce and apple cream sauce as well as fried potatoes were served. You could have salad from the buffet. Yes, it's not cheap there - but the food was high quality and really tasty! The portion was more than generous - we were very full. It was definitely worth the price and we would love to come back!

We had our company outing in Segeberg and at the end we were able to eat a cold, warm meal in the restaurant. It was delicious and filling. Service was also great. Will come again.

Auch wenn das Highlight hier (der Ausblick auf den Ihlsee) wegen des Wetters nicht so recht zu Geltung kam, was der Aufenthalt angenehm. Das Buffet war solide und schmackhaft, die Räume gemütlich. Das Personal hätte etwas aufmerksamer sein können, aber wir waren auch eine große Gruppe.

We were a group of 65 seniors from Kölln-Reisiek and had booked coffee and cake with them. There were fantastic cakes and cakes too. The ambience was very nice as we also sat on the terrace and could look at the lake. Your staff was very warm and accommodating to the seniors. Everyone was thrilled with your restaurant.

Breakfast was great. Some of the service staff can't get their teeth apart. Otherwise everything was very good. Reservation is recommended.

We were able to celebrate our wedding with a free ceremony in the restaurant at Ihlsee. Planning in advance with the owner was totally uncomplicated! Everything went as discussed! The service on the day of the celebration was absolutely great! People kept asking at the tables whether everything was OK and ordering drinks from time to time wasn't a problem because of the high presence of the service staff. The food was to die for! It tasted incredibly good and the service at the grill was also really quick, so there were no traffic jams! The ballroom was beautifully decorated and, despite the many guests, there was still enough space for dancing! Thanks to the wonderful ambience at the lake, we were also able to take numerous, beautiful pictures with the guests! All in all, the restaurant at Ihlsee is an absolute recommendation for weddings and other special occasions in life! Roast beef with pork fillet wrapped in bacon is a dream. Knife wouldn't be necessary. Salad buffet with a large fresh selection incl. Still a great restaurant with top quality at reasonable prices. Table reservations are recommended as they are usually very busy.

I had the great pleasure of working as a wedding DJ (DJ Stewi-B) at Restaurant Ihlsee on Friday and Saturday last weekend and I am absolutely impressed by the location and the dedicated staff. From start to finish, the team ensured that both the bride and groom and their guests had an unforgettable evening. The atmosphere was inviting and festive, perfect for a wedding. The view of the Ihlsee from the terrace is breathtaking and gives every event a special touch. Especially with a beautiful sunset. The care from the staff was simply perfect; they were attentive, professional and responded to all requests. I can highly recommend Restaurant Ihlsee if you are planning an event that needs to be elegant, seamless and simply unforgettable. Great location, right on the lake. A large part of the terrace is covered and therefore offers protection from sun and rain. Delicious food and very friendly service. Always worth a trip.

We at the BLÄSER Group like to eat here regularly. Fresh regional products, generous portions and hospitality are very important here. We recommend.

We were there to eat cake. Very disappointing. There were thawed cakes, they were also still on the cardboard. We were very disappointed with the taste. I didn't think you'd get such bad cake. In the countryside there are usually delicious home-baked cakes. Too bad we won't come back. The staff was friendly and attentive. The location is very nice.

We were there for the civil wedding with 9 people and 2 dogs. Since the dogs were allowed to come along as an exception, there are 2 stars instead of 1. For dinner there should be a grill plate with meat and a little fish (everything was discussed with the boss in advance). The meat was so fried that hardly anything was eaten by our guests. The fish and asparagus were forgotten, but there was an abundance of croquettes and frozen instead of grilled vegetables. In the end we were paid a fraction of what we paid for, which I found really outrageous. We were also promised that we would get a table with a view of the lake. Eventually we were seated at the other end of the restaurant. Overall it was a very big disappointment and I cannot recommend the restaurant.
