Restaurant "Zum Pferdestall" in Leipzig

By far the most tender and succulent duck I've eaten in Leipzig. Absolutely fantastic, nothing more needs to be said!

This rustic-looking restaurant is located right next to the Hotel 3 Linden, but it seemed like it was best to reserve in advance, as it's very popular. My wife (a native of Halle) confirmed the authentic Würzfleisch (seasoned meat). All the dishes arrived quickly and were well-prepared. The quality was good for German food. The price-performance ratio was appropriate.

We spent two wonderful evenings here; the food was excellent, although a few more vegetarian options would be great. The waiter was very friendly and attentive, and we would gladly return.

It is very nicely and stylishly furnished, the dishes are international and the ingredients are fresh, and the prices are very good, as are the food and drinks.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to eat. Although a friendly lady behind the counter was perfectly willing to reserve two seats for me for dinner, a visibly annoyed and unfriendly waitress decided to start a counter-initiative, whispering and looking at me disparagingly. Thanks, it was way too loud in the horse stables anyway...

Quaint ambiance, very friendly staff, and excellent value for money. We had a four-course schnitzel and a knuckle of pork for €60 with drinks.

Big disappointment here, I had pork knuckle...the best part was the side dishes...the mustard came in a squeeze bag...almost like a snack bar...The food used to be much better!!!

A beautiful restaurant with great decor, the food was excellent, and the staff was always friendly and efficient. The value for money was excellent.

Our visit home was worthwhile. To top it all off, we had traditional food. Knuckle of pork and beef roulade. Highly recommended.

I was here for the first time today, the service was very nice and motivated but unfortunately I have to say that we had to wait over an hour for the food even though it wasn't busy and the food was very dry and unfortunately tasted like nothing :(

A spontaneous visit. It was packed inside, but we still managed to get a nice spot for six people. The waitress was very nice and friendly. We had the feeling she was alone, but she had everything under control. A huge, fat compliment to this lady. She was always smiling despite the stress. The food and drinks were, of course, absolutely delicious. We'll be back and will make a reservation in advance. Thank you.

We stopped in spontaneously today and were served with great care. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. You feel really comfortable. The food is very, very tasty. We've eaten there several times. We were actually very satisfied with the very good, plentiful food. It was really filling. Unfortunately, the menu changes constantly; we went there twice within five weeks and can't refer to any reviews. On our last visit, the waiter was brusque. We didn't get what we ordered. It was only close to what we ordered. Then we were charged for food that was more expensive and not what we ordered. At least the mushrooms were missing, and instead of fried potatoes, we got some kind of potato salad. The portions were quite small, and we didn't fill us up. We didn't complain and gave a good tip, even though the waiter didn't deserve it for his behavior. But we also know that the restaurant could do better. The constantly changing menu won't keep us going there again. You just don't know if you'll find something suitable or get your favorite dish again. But the restaurant has a nice ambiance, and you can sit outside in the summer.

We stopped in here today on a whim, received a very hospitable welcome, and were assigned a lovely table in a rustic setting without a reservation. The menu is perfectly adequate with great dishes; there's something for everyone. Everything is freshly prepared. The food is excellent, and the staff truly enjoy their work. Okay, the reserved table was right next to the entrance to the restroom. We had also reserved at short notice, but the food more than made up for it. The difference compared to the ingredients offered almost everywhere these days was clear. The food from the kitchen was hot 🔥 and very tasty. The menu was short and clear. It's exactly what you'd want. We almost finished the whole menu, and everyone was thrilled. We haven't eaten this well in a long time. The chef and the ingredients make the difference here. Honestly... I haven't experienced anything like this in a long time. And I've certainly eaten well many times before.

As Leipzig residents, we always have trouble finding a good German restaurant in Leipzig, and so far, we've only had one good one in the city center. Now we've found a second one: Zum Pferdestall! We received a really warm welcome and enjoyed a truly delicious meal. The photos speak for themselves, and we're absolutely thrilled that we finally have a lovely restaurant in Leipzig with traditional German cuisine, something we've been missing for a long time. Please take your time to look at the menu and the spiced meat and steak in a pine nut crust with the best mashed potatoes with a hint of truffle... it was delicious. The salad to start with was also lovingly made. As others have written in the reviews, it's simply exceptional, made by people for people and not just thrown in 😻 and the prices were also very good, and therefore truly deserve five stars. Great service, friendly and very attentive. We felt very comfortable, and as I said, this is the second restaurant we can only visit in Leipzig.

We were your guests on Easter Monday with the whole family (9 people). Thank you for that! From the drinks to the starter to the main course, everything was great! The dishes were all very tasty and we were very satisfied overall! Our tip: the beef roulade with red cabbage is awesome! Plus a beer - mega! I would also like to praise the staff, despite the many visitors, they were absolutely professional and very friendly. Thank you very much!

We had dinner here on Friday evening with colleagues and were thoroughly impressed by the food and service (super friendly). Not nearly as good, as fresh and really creatively prepared. We tested everything from the schnitzel to the burger to different types of fish and found everything to be very good! I can only recommend it!!!!

Got unseasoned lukewarm food on Friday. On Saturday I found a hair in the food, but at least it was warm this time.

We eat out regularly and have experienced many restaurants – but this one completely impressed us! The food was simply delicious – fresh, prepared with love, and perfectly seasoned. You can immediately tell that the people here are passionate about what they do. We felt completely at home and are already looking forward to our next visit. Cozy atmosphere in the old style. Maybe a little dark, but really ok. We went there for coffee, there were cakes and all sorts of coffee creations. We will definitely try dinner soon. There are no problems with parking at all as it is located in the middle of an industrial area.

I celebrated my 40th birthday here in the horse stables in Nov '24. We had the coachman's room in the lower area available and ordered a buffet for about 30 people. We and all of my guests were super, super satisfied and thrilled with the food, the service and everything about it. It was fresh, absolutely delicious food and we were even able to pack up the leftovers and take them with us since they didn't want to throw anything away. Absolutely great! We really enjoy coming here to eat anyway and have eaten very well here with our family at the start of school and at the youth consecration. So a big compliment and thank you to the chef (and his helping hands) and to the service staff!

Unfortunately, unlike before, very disappointing!! The “Rostbrätl” without onions!?? And the rest, such as a simple schnitzel, was also very dry. You just can't go there anymore. A look through the kitchen window, well you should actually go back there. It's a real shame actually.

...well, one thing first - best BURGER I've had so far. Just crazy. The pepper steak was also exactly on point, mega portions and great quality - if someone in the kitchen knows exactly what they are doing, someone has found their own calling. The service is super nice, not intrusive and yet has a very good feeling for when she is needed. Simply fair prices for this quality, we are very happy with our choice of restaurant. Highly recommended!

Der Service war sehr schnell und freundlich. Das Ambiente ist sehr rustikal Aber mit viel Liebe gesammelt Wir hatten Salat mit gebackenen Fisch und wildgulasch mit Pilzen Beides war lecker und wurde schnell serviert Wenn wir wieder in den drei Linden übernachten kommen wir gerne wieder vorbei

Beautiful ambience, uncomfortable and the food is really very good. If it hadn't been for the annoyed waitress who responded very snippily to older people and would rather wash dishes than respond to guests' requests, then it would have been a really nice evening. All in all, a nice atmosphere and, as already mentioned, the food is excellent.

Overall the food was tasty and the restaurant was nice to look at. We were a group of 19 people, so a slightly larger table. The first drinks and food came quickly. Here, too, it was clearly noticeable that the waitress was clearly annoyed. After the meal, ordering became quite tiring and you waited for a long time or often had to walk to the front yourself. The waitress became increasingly annoyed and eventually became rude. It's a shame that such a lovely evening was disrupted by such service.

It is particularly beautiful in the outdoor area. Addendum: The service only gets one star due to bad experiences. We actually had to pay for the decorations or putting up a tablecloth when we were guests and ate there after my grandpa's funeral. We weren't even given a hint about it. Neither on the phone, when making the reservation, nor when handing over the invoice. I think that's in bad taste.

I liked it overall. The first impression was a bit dark and gloomy, but when you sit and look around calmly, the concept becomes apparent. The menu is clear and adapted to the season. There are also a few bold combinations on it. The taste was ok to good, everyone feels differently, some combinations didn't blow me away that much. The service was nice and friendly. Price-performance was ok.
