We were in Leipzig for 2 days and spontaneously decided on the Pilot. That was the right decision! In the heat, everyone sat outside in a relaxed atmosphere. We were served very nicely and attentively. Given the heat, we decided on a fairly simple but very well prepared and tasty dish. We had a very nice evening and can definitely recommend the Pilot! 👌

Perfect service and first class drinks The evening at the Pilot was a complete success. Particularly noteworthy is the outstanding service. Silvia, who served us, was extremely friendly and attentive. She has a special sense of what guests need and created a pleasant atmosphere. We always enjoy coming here because the quality of the drinks is excellent, as is the service. Nico already knows the drink requests before we express them. In addition, his recommendations for the cocktails are on point and every glass is a pleasure.

Friendly shop, good for a lunch near the city center with a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service. Cozy and lively even in the evenings with always friendly and courteous service.

A restaurant close to the city center, serving German dishes. There are a lot of tables outside (but also there are a lot of wasps). There is an English menu with the use of QR code and also they speak English. We tried the schnitzel and the beef steak. The steak was very good, the schnitzel was quite dry. The service was friendly and quick!

I can't rate food. Been sitting here for 15 minutes after asking. Still no card or barrel to scan. Since the last question I have been ignored and no card has been brought to me to order. I don't know such unprofessional behavior. Get up and go somewhere else 😵‍💫

We had a celebration and were completely satisfied with the food, service and drinks. The separate room for the celebration was also very nice. The only thing is that there could be a toilet in this room so that you don't have to walk long distances. Otherwise I can only recommend this restaurant.

Summer version is quite well thought out. The food was good and I really enjoyed the way it was served. The waiter was characterful (not softened) and welcoming. There was the 7 herb pasta and the almond cake (which was very good)

Spent a relaxing evening with friends.

Nice staff who, despite a lot of work, still keep an overview. Delicious and beautifully prepared food. Child friendly. All social classes represented.

The food here is okay, but unfortunately the service is not. You have to wait quite a long time for someone to be willing to serve you (when the restaurant is at most 1/3 full), and if you have ordered, the food may arrive earlier than the drinks. And the food comes in just an acceptable amount of time. The quality is okay, but again it doesn't match the prices, which would suggest that they are rather outstanding. Overall OK but not really good.

Food was delicious. Service was rarely apparent. I couldn't find anything special about the atmosphere, but it was pleasant.

We were offered a table for two, measuring 30x30 cm in the middle of the venue. We asked for another table, (60%) of tables were available. And was declined. Can not recommend this place. Terrible service.

Went to dinner with several people and had great difficulty finding something suitable from the small menu. Pricing and supplement offerings are borderline. Taste ok. Service very nice and friendly. Personally, I wouldn't eat here again because I don't like what's on offer and I don't think it's good value for money.

My companion and I stopped here for desserts and coffee. We enjoyed it very much, the chocolate cake had a liquid core and is just right for sweet connoisseurs. There's already a lot going on on Friday evening, so it's a little louder, which didn't bother me personally. There is a lot of emphasis on elegantly presenting the food.

Pilot remains pilot, theater ambience and good seasonal cuisine. The price matches the high quality, the service is very good and we would be happy to come back

The Pilot is a quite hip and usually full pub-restaurant. The menu changes regularly, the selection is creative and diverse, reservations are recommended. The ambience is cool, the food is okay. I had a schnitzel that was a little overcooked, fries and salad as side dishes were good. The service was very good. Even though the shop was full, we got our food after about 15 minutes. The prices, like almost everywhere these days, are not a bargain.

Sporty prices and service is something different - really nice but somehow unusual in dealing with people. The food was very tasty - the price is quite high but you also get creative food that has that little special something extra. Not my every day favorite but definitely worth a visit again

We were absolutely thrilled! The atmosphere is very nice, the service staff is absolutely friendly and accommodating and the food is excellent and very creative! Highly recommended are the spinach salad, the spice chicken, the stuffed veal breast and the baked cauliflower. The homemade churros round off the whole thing as a dessert. We can only warmly recommend the “Pilot”.

The Pilot is a super nice restaurant with a very varied menu and a nice atmosphere. The staff is super friendly and the food tastes very good. You can spend a lot of time here and time flies. Highly Recommended! We'd love to come back.

Small menu with imaginatively put together dishes, mostly very well prepared. Original furnishings, based on the style of the theater (partly probably original). Service not very prompt. Finally, when there was little activity, I sat near the hatch in the kitchen, where my food, which had been left out, stood and waited for a while. I was already thinking about getting it myself.

Beware, unhygienic cook! We have eaten here several times and so far we have always been satisfied. The food tastes really good too. However, we were seriously disappointed today. It started at the door when we picked up our ordered table and we were stressed and told to please clear the table for the next guests two hours later. We were then seated at the back table - directly opposite the open kitchen. Everything is fine so far. We waited some time for our drinks until the stressed and sometimes unfriendly service staff served us. The real kicker, however, was when we repeatedly observed the chef licking his fingers, picking his ear or touching his face - without washing his hands in between. And he constantly served the food on the plates with his bare fingers! To make matters worse, we politely pointed out to the already stressed waitress how unpleasant this was. We don't know whether the waitress or chef gave notice - but he continued to lick his fingers and did so without washing his hands in between. It was also noticed that the chef was wearing jewelry. All in all, we were really happy with the food - but the circumstances surrounding the food preparation left us more than disappointed and spoiled our appetite. As a result, the tip was not given. Really a shame.

We went to the pilot on a recommendation, come from southern Germany and were in Leipzig for the first time for culinary delights. Starters were great, spinach salad & the fasting soup were super tasty! The main courses with pasta and Lenten cabbage also tasted great. The hot drinks (lemon ginger + ginger pear with cinnamon) were also great! We'd love to come back!

Not just schnitzel on the menu. Very good quality of food. The staff is very nice and friendly. You can see immediately if something is missing and ask.

I really like the Pilot and I think it's a great address in Leipzig. Unfortunately, everything took a long time on the last visit, on a Thursday evening. Lots of people, few staff. That's the impression. The drinks were ok, slightly watered down. The crispy schnitzel came with very good fries, and the snack salad also tasted excellent. When it came to dessert, only the warm chocolate cake scored. The raspberry sauce and the pistachio ice cream were a hit with all of us at the table.

Food overpriced and prepared with ready-made products. I had Toni's bruschetta, the oven-baked peppers on it came straight from the jar on a no-longer-fresh, un-toasted white bread. Then Penne Arrabbiata, which was more of an appetizer and tasted similar to a normal warmed-up sauce from the supermarket. A pity. Specialist staff back and forth, 19% VAT, none of that gives the right to offer something like that.

Very nice restaurant, highly recommended. The only point of criticism: the menu could offer a little more for those with gluten intolerance.

There were six of us at Pilot Essen, and the food came to the table very quickly after we ordered. All I can say about the food is that everything was very tasty and well prepared. Unfortunately I lacked a bit of warmth - it could be hotter. The service was friendly and efficient, which we liked. Unfortunately, we often sat in front of empty glasses, so you might be able to be a little more observant. Otherwise it was a nice evening and we really enjoyed it. We will come back...

The spiced meat had the consistency of a soup and was also cold. The roulade with the dumplings is mini, but tasted good.

Food, well, not a large selection of dishes and totally overpriced. No selection of drinks, see beer menu. Therefore, it is better to go towards Karli as there are more options to eat and drink well.

Ich liebe es im PILOT, man wird mit der Speisekarte nie enttäuscht. 10/10. Ein Kritikpunkt nur: Seit dem Umbau ist etwas das Urig-Gemütliche raus, besonders, wenn man nur zu zweit oder zu dritt kommt. Dann wird man nämlich immer neben der Treppe zum Erfrischungsfoyer oder an einem der Tische im Gang (zur Toilette) abgesetzt - einfach, weil da die 2er- und 3er-Tische stehen. Das ist schade, weil es wie abgestellt wirkt, man im Durchgang sitzt, es ziemlich frisch dort und die Kellner*innen seltener mal vorbeischauen. Da geht der PILOT-Flair leider etwas verloren, den die anderen im Raum sicher haben. Komme trotzdem wieder, vielleicht brauche ich einfach mehr Freund*innen.

Das PILOT ist eine Mischung aus Bistro und Restaurant mit einem Eckeingang. Wer Lust auf örtliche Spezialitäten oder Fischspezialitäten hat, ist hier gut aufgehoben.

Gute Gaststätte mit sehr freundlichem, hilfsbereitem Personal. Radikales regionales Angebot an Speisen und Getränken. Sehr gutes Konzept und schmackhaft. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Getränke (Cocktails) ser lecker. Ist empfehlenswert.

Delicious food and very friendly professional service. Serving the kids‘ dinner with the starters shows consideration. Nice alcohol free drinks also. The family prayer painting behind adds a special touch and calms everybody down. Our favorite restaurant in Leipzig. We will be back!

Sehr zu empfehlen. An dem Service gibt es nichts zu kritisieren und das Essen ist preiswert und gut. Das Stroh-Schwein-Schnitzel oder die Königsberger Klopse kann ich jedem weiterempfehlen.

Tolles Lokal in Leipzig. Gute Getränke Auswahl vom Bier zum Gin. Dabei gute winterliche Speisenauswahl.

Das Essen war super lecker. Der Service war auch freundlich und zuvorkommend. Es war sehr voll aber der Service hatte es im Griff. Dennoch war es recht laut und ein wenig ungemütlich in der gesamten Atmosphäre. Aber das kann an dem hohen Gästeaufkommen gelegen haben.

Ein schöner Abend mit leckerem Essen. Leider waren viele Gruppen dort, sodass es sehr laut war und man sich kaum verstanden hat am Tisch. Zudem war deshalb auch die Wartezeit auf Getränke recht hoch. Darum ein Stern Abzug. Aber trotz des hohen Aufkommens hat die Küche einen super Job gemacht. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Immer wieder lecker. Im Pilot gibt es eine der besten, noch bezahlbaren Küchen. Egal was man bestellt, alles schmeckt lecker. Man sollte es allerdings nicht zu eilig haben.

Für ein Restaurant dieser Art sehr gut. Flinker und netter Service. Das Essen ist frisch zubereitet und sehr schmackhaft. An der Karte sieht man, dass sich der Koch Gedanken macht und saisonale Produkte nutzt. Die vegetarischen und veganen Gerichte sind auf der Karte klar gekennzeichnet. Preislich eher der gehobenen Kategorie zuzuordnen. Einziger Kritikpunkt: durch die zentrale Bar wirkt alles ein wenig hektisch wenn man dort in der Nähe sitzt.

Sehr kreatives, bodenständiges leckeres Essen und eine feine Getränke Karte. Schönes Ambiente, etwas Hallig war aber auch Samstag Abend und ausgebucht. Daher auf jeden Fall reservieren. Service sehr freundlich und Hundelieb! Danke für den schönen Abend und Emil bedankt sich für das leckere Würstchen.

Die Bar war überraschend gut. Die Pasta und der Käseknödel haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Die Bedienung war schnell und aufmerksam.

Das PILOT ist sehr zu empfehlen, superfreundlicher Service, sehr aufmerksam und das Mittagessen (Rinderrolladen) war der absolute Hammer. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder und empfehlen Euch weiter.

Freundliches Personal, sehr leckeres Essen und man bekommt sein Essen immer ganz fix. Dazu noch faire Preise. Wir kommen immer gern wieder.

Das Restaurant hat mich überrascht. Das eher unscheinbare Äußere trügt. Wirklich sehr toller, junger Service, sehr leckeres, nicht so langweilig Essen und eine gute Getränkeauswahl. Ich fand besonders toll, dass die hausgemachte Limo nicht so süß war.

Super Service! Immer freundlich und zuvorkommend. Kann den Spinat Salat und den Lillet Wildberry sehr empfehlen. Alles andere schmeckt aber auch sehr lecker. :) Ambiente ist top, Lage ist auch top! Immer wieder gern.

Excellent spot tucked in the restaurant region of Leipzig. Decided to give this place a try based on previous photos from others and having been greeted by friendly staff while walking by. Overall, the food was so good, I had the dessert, which I usually skip. They have a nice lunch option where you can pick an appetizer from a list of three choices, entree also from a few set choices, and dessert from three selections. The chicken salad was delicious! Nice beer selection, also. Staff were attentive and friendly. If you're hungry and in the area, this place is well worth stopping by.

Die Essen waren alle sehr gut und durchaus reichlich. Gute Auswahl auch an regionalen Bieren . Freundlicher und entgegenkommender Service. Toll um einen schönen Abend mit Freunden zu verbringen. Unbedingt vorher reservieren.

Szenekneipe in der Kneipenmeile. Großer Freisitz. Freundliches aber langsames Personal. Geschmackloser Salat. Gut zum Verweilen.

Endlich mal eine etwas andere Karte und das Essen war sehr gut. Service und Bestuhlung könnten einen Tick besser sein.

Das weibliche Personal sollte geschult werden. Wir haben ewig gewartet. Keine Speisekarte bekommen. 3 x nachgefragt wann unsere Getränke kommen. Essen an den Tisch bekommen aber kein Besteck dabei. So werden Gäste vergrault.
