Always a great place to treat yourself to a nice evening: attentive service, high-quality food and drinks with a good selection, and a pleasant atmosphere. Delicious additional items on the menu, depending on the season.

Our absolute favorite restaurant in Leipzig! We've been coming here for years, regularly for food and drinks. The waiters really go out of their way to make sure you get a table even without a reservation, like today! They take such good care of you, always smile, lovingly prepare fantastic food, and mix delicious drinks. Always worth it! A special thank you goes to the people who work there! The food is amazing, and the menu changes seasonally, which is great! There's something for everyone, from budget-friendly to more expensive! I highly recommend it. 10/5 stars ;)

Dishes that maintain German cooking traditions but are updated and enriched. Magnificent salads—you can eat well by ordering just one—and other typical dishes. The portions are generous. My favorite dessert is the lemon sorbet with strawberries. Reasonably priced.

To get straight to the point: The menu is AWESOME. There are a few classics that are always worth trying (spinach salad, crème brûlée), along with a few more experimental, sometimes home-style dishes, and as a complement—and I really like this—rustic dishes like solyanka and spiced meat for a lighter appetite or when you're simply in the mood for Eastern cuisine far removed from the Jägerschnitzel. The menu also changes regularly, so it's worth stopping by regularly. The ambiance and drinks menu aren't 100% my cup of tea; both are very much in keeping with the chic Gottschedstraße scene—the best place to sit in the outdoor seating in summer. I'd bet on the Aperol anytime, though! Service, on the other hand, is very much dependent on the day. I really appreciate our stoic but reliable regular waiter. But I've also often had to deal with clumsy or overwhelmed temporary staff, and personally, as a customer, I don't find it pleasant when servers actively avoid eye contact (both while waiting for service and during a conversation). Finally, a tip: PILOT is very busy, especially on weekends, so reservations are recommended in the evening. In an emergency, the team will be willing to talk and can seat you at the bar. :) Conclusion: Very good, varied cuisine. Even though it gets a bit hectic/crowded in the evenings, I come here regularly and enjoy it.

At the end of an eventful Sunday, I was able to enjoy octopus with rissotto, various roasted peppers, and a parsley salad. This was accompanied by homemade lemonade. The meal was amazing and simply fantastic. The interplay of all the components was a true delight. The waiters and waitresses were attentive, efficient, and extremely polite. Thank you for the wonderful evening, dear team!

The food is excellent, the service superb, and the staff extremely attentive and friendly. The food arrives very quickly, almost too quickly, so it's best to order drinks first and then the food. The portions are very well-balanced. We had a truly lovely evening.

Huge, welcoming place, just steps from the center (and a few meters from our hotel): thanks in part to a small mishap, we dined here two nights in a row! First night: service a bit slow but attentive and friendly, excellent gazpacho, and a gigantic and tasty schnitzler. Second night: the menu was decent (the small crème brûlée was very good), but the service was extremely slow and very "distracted." They didn't bring us cutlery, nor an extra plate we requested, nor even the bill... it could be improved. That said, the menu is extensive and varied (many vegetarian and vegan options), the portions are generous, and the bill was absolutely fair.

A rather trendy place, highly frequented outside and in, year round. Located in a fashionable area with many restaurants. Service is friendly, swift, accommodating. The menu rotates, and is of decent quality, though the prices may seem a bit steep (especially for students), hence the question of value for money might come up. A safe choice, on the whole, for lunch, dinner, or a quick bite.

The Pilot Lemonade was simply delicious, the service was quick and friendly, and the bouillabaisse was tasty but meager. A single shrimp is really stingy for €23, and the fish pieces are very limited. And one (or rather, one!) piece of bread with it isn't adequate either. Afterwards, we went somewhere else to eat our fill...

Unfortunately, I had a negative experience paying during my visit. The waiter entered a tip amount into the card reader without asking me or giving me a choice. Unfortunately, I only realized this afterward. I take it for granted that tipping is a voluntary decision made by guests and not imposed by the staff without their consent. The drinks were good, but this behavior unfortunately leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Exceptional! The flavors are creative and innovative, with extremely good seasoning. The service is very attentive, friendly, and enthusiastic. A must-go!

The best asparagus pasta I've ever had. A good portion size, beautifully presented, great ingredients, and the sauce tasted fantastic. Highly recommended (as well as the house rosé). The service was also very friendly :)

The appetizer was great. Beautifully presented and creative. The main course, however, was a huge disappointment. A massive pile of stale bread stuck together with cheese. That wasn't what I expected from cheese dumplings. The service was abysmal for a restaurant of this type. I don't even know where to begin... The most bizarre thing was when the server couldn't find room for the wine bottle on the table and ended up putting the wine cooler on the floor.

In our opinion, the current Google rating is far too low, we were there two evenings in a row. We had a really delicious meal - great attentive staff (especially Nico qualified as our waiter of the year!!!) and a very nice atmosphere and the location is great. In our opinion, 5 stars would be totally deserved!

Yesterday the 4 of us had dinner at the Pilot. We ate the Easter menu, which was very tasty. We also enjoyed the Pinot Gris. The service was very nice and there was a relaxed and relaxed atmosphere. We sat at a table near the door and due to the automatic closing mechanism, it remained open for a few minutes every time we opened it, which was uncomfortable in the cold temperatures because we felt very drafty.

Unfortunately our visit was a disappointment. The onion soup tasted mainly like vegetable broth with a hint of onion - plain in taste and not worth the price. The schnitzel was the biggest letdown: obviously not fresh, extremely thin, dry, tough and even with a hole in the middle. Absolutely unacceptable for €20 - especially since the fries had to be ordered separately for €5. The Gorgonzola pasta tasted okay, but only a few of the pasta were soaked in far too much sauce. In the end we paid €75 for an overall very unsatisfactory meal. We definitely won't be coming back.

Well, if you want to eat potatoes with quark and liver sausage, then you should prepare it yourself at home. It tastes better and you don't get so poor either. The service could definitely be improved a bit, because we waited an hour for our food... 😔 Then not everyone received the drink they ordered right away (sometimes we had to ask three times...) and we weren't even allowed to eat what we wanted because we only got a shortened menu. The fact that there wasn't even a schnitzel on it and you had real problems finding the right one doesn't make up for the disappointment. In any case, I won't eat there again.

We recently celebrated my wife's birthday at the Pilot - and it was amazing! From the first to the last minute everything was just right: the service, the food, the atmosphere and the friendliness of the entire team. As soon as we entered the restaurant we were warmly welcomed - with a serenade for my wife. Afterwards we went to our beautifully set table... The service was outstanding: attentive, professional and always with a smile. Our wishes were fulfilled immediately and no question was left unanswered. What was particularly impressive was the warmth of the team, which made us feel welcome. The food was a real highlight! Each dish was not only visually appealing, but also delicious in terms of taste and prepared with great attention to detail. We were also impressed by the rooms. The tasteful furnishings, pleasant lighting and well-thought-out design create an inviting atmosphere in which you simply feel comfortable. Overall, a great lunch at the Pilot. We couldn't have asked for a better place for my wife's birthday party. If you are looking for excellent food, first class service and a great atmosphere, you should definitely visit this restaurant. We'll definitely be back!

Actually our favorite restaurant in Leipzig, we come regularly, also because of the service, but it has declined a bit recently. I don't really understand why I had to reorder the drinks myself twice at the counter on a Sunday evening in an almost empty restaurant, despite the visibly large staff, because the order "coming immediately" didn't even arrive there. Food very good as always, but the staff should be trained better, or I'll be tapping my own beer in the future ;-)

There were three of us for dinner in the Pilot that evening. I was there for the first time. Reservation was made online and was hassle-free. The service provided was efficient. I had a sage chicken with beetroot risotto. Unfortunately, the chicken was too dry and not particularly crispy. It was buried deep in the red risotto. The cheese platter that followed for 12 euros was a bit of a negative surprise. There were four small slices of mountain cheese and a few pieces of toasted haloumi with nuts and olives as well as a huge bowl of small rusk cookies. Unfortunately, I had neglected to study the menu carefully beforehand. Overall, it is a restaurant that is always open and is very busy.

Good classic restaurant in the center of Leipzig. The service was noticeably committed and enthusiastic and gave us good advice. The beer from a private brewery in the Erzgebirge was first class, as was Annabell and corn-fed chicken. What I don't understand is that dogs are allowed in the restaurant. When I eat well, I don't like the smell of dog in the air for minutes. This should be reconsidered.

Generally a ok place but service and value prop beyond bad. If you are not able to operate online bookings, simply cut it out and go back to phone services! Waiting for hours on a pending booking that was possible for me to process, to then waste my time on the phone with your rude personal, that sometimes can but mostly cant articulate themselves! But dropping the phone seems to work well! Seriously?

Very chic restaurant where you can feel comfortable. Quite large and busy, but still with a lot of charm and a nice atmosphere. Service was also very friendly. The menu has some unusual and interesting dishes and it tasted very good. And the environment directly in and at the Schauspielhaus or Gottschedtstr. is also very beautiful. Prices were completely ok for the city center and the quality of the food.

We had reserved for 3 people, then had to wait at the bar for about 10 minutes and then got a small table for 2 people. The food was okay, nothing fancy, no taste explosion or anything like that. But okay for the price.

Small menu with imaginatively put together dishes, mostly very well prepared. Original furnishings, based on the style of the theater (partly probably original). Service not very prompt. Finally, when there was little activity, I sat near the hatch in the kitchen, where my food, which had been left out, stood and waited for a while. I was already thinking about getting it myself. ‐--------- November 2024 addition: Since I've had very positive experiences with the fast and friendly service the last few times, and the food is still good and imaginative, I'm happy to revise my rating upwards.

Im Rahmen einer Gruppenreise (Verein) hatten wir einen sehr schönen Abend in einem separaten Raum. Die Speisekarte war leider reduziert. Das war von Vorteil für den Bestellprozess und das relative gleichzeitige Servieren. Aber einige Gäste kamen mit der Vorauszahl leider nicht klar. Die meisten fanden jedoch ihren Favoriten und waren mehrheitlich von den Gerichten (ungewöhnliche Kombinationen) sehr begeistert. Der Service war äußerst zuvorkommend. Gerne immer wieder!

It's been a long time since I went to the Pilot today and I was stunned at how arrogant and unfriendly the waiter was there at lunchtime. He wasn't friendly at all, wouldn't even look you in the eye when you talked to him. Throws the menus on the table. But the great thing was that out of politeness, I still gave him a €5 tip at the end when the turnover was €32, which he took and without many thanks or goodbye, took the money and left. That was definitely my last visit to this restaurant. My companion was also horrified by this gentleman's manner.

We were upstairs with a larger group. The service was friendly and quick. The Leipzig Mule is a blast! Rump steak was a bit firm - but it was easy to eat and the side dishes were tasty

The Wienerschnitzel was good, the portion of fries was huge and the mixed salad with the meal was also very tasty. The service staff was very friendly, competent and extremely attentive. We felt comfortable in the Pilot.
