Here you come to a very beautifully decorated restaurant with super friendly service staff, whether in front of or behind the counter.

We celebrated my sister's wedding there yesterday. It was a wonderful party. Thanks to the entire team for making it possible with all their hard work. The restaurant is highly recommended. I will be back. Thank you again for everything.

The terrace isn't exactly romantic due to the architectural surroundings. It's still a nice place to sit. I usually eat veal schnitzel or liver. Impeccable! But it's also worth checking out the daily menu. If I have guests and the timing is right, a visit is a must!

Great food in a beautiful setting. Very friendly service on a Friday evening at the large outdoor table. Thanks to the blonde lady who was actually off duty. The food was a delight. Whether it was liver, aspic, or pork knuckle, everything was simply delicious. Thank you, we'll be back.

We were here with our residential group and enjoyed a fantastic dinner. Upon our arrival, our residents were greeted very warmly, which immediately created a good atmosphere. The team took the time to respond to our residents' individual requests, which we found particularly valuable. The food was truly delicious! A big thank you goes to Anja, Kathi, and the entire Prellbock team. We'd love to come back!

I can recommend the Prellbock. Everything was perfect: great food and very friendly service. We sat on the patio; it was a lovely evening.

The service is impeccable – attentive and very satisfying. The food has demonstrated outstanding quality for years and justifies the high prices. The Prellbock is clearly a place that tempts both the inside and the longer lingering in the courtyard. Of course, I'm reluctant to recommend the latter, as I probably rarely find a spot when visiting Soontan.

Went there yesterday without a reservation. You couldn't be welcomed better or friendlier. Food was great too. Unfortunately we live 600km away otherwise we would eat here more often.

I spontaneously looked for the buffer stop and found it and tried it out straight away. The schnitzel with wild garlic was very tender and tasty... There is good German cuisine here, everything seems authentic and the staff is very friendly. Can be recommended... Price and performance are right...

Insider tip! Super nice service. Food very tasty. Rustic and very good quality. The walk to the inner courtyard is worth it! We'll be back.

Went to Prellbock for dinner today. Without a reservation, we were warmly welcomed and given a seat. Very friendly and attentive service. In addition to the classic menu, there was a blackboard with other dishes to choose from. We chose spiced meat and salad as starters and beef cheeks and liver Berlin style as the main course. It was simply delicious. We haven't eaten something so delicious in a long time. Absolute recommendation. (It's probably the boss cooking 😉) Delicious drinks and service rounded off this visit perfectly. Thank you very much

We have been going to this restaurant for years. We love the rustic atmosphere and the food always tastes excellent, even if it is now quite expensive. The staff is always very friendly and approachable. There is a star deduction for the toilets that are not barrier-free.

We had lunch there. Schnitzel with cauliflower and croquettes. It was delicious, the service was friendly and funny :), but the portion could have been a bit larger; the schnitzel was quite small.

Friendly restaurant, very courteous staff. Cozy backyard idyll, far away from the hustle and bustle, with indoor and outdoor space. We were there for a company event. It was a very good collaboration and also a nice event for the customers. Can be recommended as a location for parties of up to 120 people.

My review is perhaps exceptional. Was looking for a toilet. I asked if I could use the toilet and would pay something. The friendly gentleman at the counter didn't want anything in return, which is rare these days. Nice gesture. So full stars and thank you again.

Ate at this great restaurant based on a recommendation and absolutely loved it. Very, very nice staff, so you immediately felt at home, very nice, cozy atmosphere and the food (we had four different main courses) was consistently delicious. We were thrilled! :) It was such a great evening, thank you again to the Prellbock team. We will be back definitely.

We had a great evening with exquisite home cooking, super-friendly, family service and not in the hustle and bustle of tourists. We particularly liked the fact that we were able to discover unknown decogestives - I just say Schartöse green 🤣 We would be happy to recommend you here too

Rustic, cozy, super friendly, tasty... simply recommended... We inquired 2 days in advance and were still able to reserve for 17 people after many cancellations. Our skepticism quickly disappeared because the cozy atmosphere, the care towards our seven kids and the great food were convincing in every respect. Even special intolerances could be taken into account, great! We'll be back.

Wir waren als Selbsthilfegruppe in Leipzig unterwegs. Haben eine Kanalfahrt genossen und wollten anschließend noch essen gehen. Der Prellbock hat extra für uns das Lokal bereits um 14:00 Uhr geöffnet und uns supertoll bewirtet. Das Essen war hervorragend und sehr lecker 😋 Die Wirtsleute haben uns sehr liebevoll bewirtet und keinen Wunsch offen gelassen. Sie waren sehr freundlich, humorvoll, umsichtig und das Essen war für 29 Personen zügig auf dem Tisch. Danke für diese wundervolle Bedienung und den wunderschönen Nachmittag bei Euch. Der Prellbock ist in einem schattigen Hinterhof gelegen. Bei sommerlichen Temperaturen genau das richtige! Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt, dass wir während unserem Aufenthalt in Leipzig zweimal dort waren. Alle Servicekräfte sind unglaublich freundlich und sympathisch! Wir haben uns für Gerichte der Tages- und Speisekarte entschieden und waren alle sehr zufrieden! Hat alles sehr gut geschmeckt! Würden definitiv wieder kommen!

Sehr leckerer Burger. Waren dort, als wir in Leipzig waren. Habe einen Burger gegessen. Er hat gut geschmeckt. Hatte aber auch schon paar Burger, die besser waren. Gehe nächstes mal gerne wieder dort hin. Gebe 4 von insgesamt 5 möglichen Sternen!

Da wir nur was getrunken haben, kann ich die Küche nicht beurteilen. Aber der Prellbock ist schon immer eine gute Adresse gewesen und daran hat sich auch nichts geändert. Daumen hoch 😉

Hinterhofrestaurant mit Flair, drinnen mit zwei Etagen - nicht barrierefrei, einen Freisitz im Hof, mit moderner deutscher Küche (Vieles hier ist wohl Convenience Food) und einen Prellbock vorm Eingang, im westlichen Innenhof des ehemaligen Buntgarnwerkes. Dieser Prellbock, der den Namen für die Lokalität stiftete, ist authentisch. Eine Eisenbahnanbindung führte vom Bahnhof Plagwitz ausgehend tatsächlich bis zu diesen Gleisabschluß, an einer hier befindlichen Laderampe vorbei: Dort wurde die Produktion des Buntgarnwerkes wettergeschuetzt verfrachtet. Heut ist davon nichts mehr zu sehen. Alles vermauert. Dort drinnen steht jetzt die Heizungsanlage für die umliegenden Gebäude.

Ok, Burger sollte bei dem Preis besser sein.

Es war ein schöner Abend, allerdings das falsche Restaurant. Essen war ganz okay, die Bedienung war auch sehr nett. Allerdings hat alles ewig gedauert, die Getränkebestellung, Lieferung und auch das Essen. Hungrig darf man nicht hingehen. Das Essen hat 2 Stunden gedauert. Zum Schluss wurden wir noch darauf hingewiesen, doch Trinkgeld für die Bedienung dazulassen, weil sie davon lebt. Das ist ein No Go!!!

Sehr freundliches Personal, wie eh und je. Küche leider nicht mehr ganz so gut. Essen kochend heiss serviert. Kinderessen Schnellimbiss. Interieur schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber dafür irgendwie urig... alles in allem: OK.

Super Restaurant mit Biergarten, nettes Personal und super Speisekarte

Wir waren in Familie da. 11 Personen der jüngste 8 der älteste 82. Der Service prompt, zuvorkommend, lustig und total unaufdringlich. Wir sind einigen Empfehlungen gefolgt und haben somit alles richtig gemacht. Die Speisekarte haben wir hoch und runter gegessen, es war wirklich alles saulecker, ganz frisch und handmade. Der Prellbock ist rin rustikales Restaurant in einem Hinterhof in der Nonnenstraße im Ortsteil Plagwitz, mit großem schattigen Freisitz, was bei den derzeitigen Temperaturen für uns ideal war. Genau so rustikal wie das Restaurant ist die Wirtin, die uns mit einem vertrauten: "Ihr könnt Platz nehmen wo ihr wollt" begrüßte. Die Speiseauswahl ist in Ordnung und täglich werden Spezialitäten neu auf einer Tafel angepriesen. Von den Preisen her ist alles im unteren Bereich. Meine Frau und ich hatten Wiener Schnitzel, was nicht nur so hieß sondern auch eines war. In manchen Lokalen bekommt man lediglich eines "nach Wiener Art". Der Unterschied liegt im Fleisch und manchmal auch an der Pannade. Meine Nachspeise: "Heiss auf Eis", heiße Himbeeren und Vanille Eis waren köstlich. Ein doppelter Espresso rundete alles ab. Unsere Mutter hatte Matjes bestellt und war ebenfalls zufrieden. Da mir die zwei dicken Schnitzel, die serviert wurden zu viel waren, habe ich mir das 2. Schnitzel einpacken lassen. Unser 4-Beiner freut sich auf das Prachtststück.

Lang etabliert in Plagwitz und immer wieder einen Besuch wert. Netter Empfang, feines, sächsisches Essen aufgepeppt. Ein Genuss!

Leider gibt es keine halben Punkte. 4.5 wären gerecht. Sehr gut sind "meine" Klassiker: Wiener Schnitzel (also vom Kalb) sowie "Kalbsleber". Die Portionen sind sehr ordentlich. Meist findet sich auch ein gutes oder sehr gutes Gericht zum Mittagstisch. Draußen sitzt man nicht spektakulär, aber sehr entspannt und gemütlich. Sehr freundlicher Service.

Im Prellbock findet man nicht nur leckeres Essen, sondern auch sehr nettes, kompetentes Personal, das auch auf Sonderwünsche eingeht. Der Weihnachtsbrunch z. B. hat keine Wünsche offengelassen und ich musste nicht selbst am Herd stehen. Es war eine sehr entspannte Atmosphäre und ein tolles Team.
