Restaurant zum Onkel Willi in Cochem

There are 3 electric car charging stations in the parking lot (which are shown as publicly accessible in all apps), so we wanted to charge there during our visit to Cochem and were rudely sent away by the staff because these charging stations are only for hotel guests. I would definitely not go to this hotel or restaurant. Potential customers lost.

We had dinner tonight at the restaurant. The food was great, the service during dinner as well, but we were unpleasantly surprised when we wanted to order dessert and they told us the kitchen was closed and the staff had left. We didn't take a lot of time for dinner, but started at 20.30 at their request, because they said they were fully booked before. Nobody asked us if we wanted to order dessert early or told us the kitchen was about to be closed. I just don't understand why you are in the business of servicing food to people and halfway through service decide that it's been enough for the night.

Friendly, attentive service, drinks and food served quickly. Tasty wine and good food! The portions could have been a little larger and the fish unfortunately had individual bones and scales. Great in terms of taste and appearance! Gladly again.

Unfortunately, we were turned away unfriendly and with our mouths full. Never experienced anything like this before. 🤣 We come in, the waitress comes up to us, greets us cautiously, looks at the shift manager, who is eating, and only gets a "no". Since I and my companion want to have a drink at the bar... the waitress looks at the SL, who shakes her head with her mouth full... we get another "no" in embarrassment. We stopped by at lunchtime on Saturday. There was a sign outside that said it was fully booked today. Please reserve your seat via email: ... I ordered for the next day (Sunday evening). An email came back saying that Saturday is fully booked. My reservation for Sunday was not honored. I wrote another email on Sunday. No answer! We went anyway, hoping to get a seat. Unfortunately only with reservation. Luckily there is enough choice in Cochem.

We were there for dinner with seven people. It was really outstanding. Everyone was thrilled. A must for everyone who comes to Cochem. Very highly recommended.

If you speak to them on the phone you cannot make a reservation, but if you just walk in and ask if they have room, they will tell you that you have to make a reservation. Very strange. I didn't have an answering machine, I just had a lady on the phone who said we couldn't make a reservation.

Suggested by our hotel manager, we loved this place, crisp salad, great potato soup, and all the entrees from rumpsteak to medallions were great. Awesome service as well!

What a ball tent. If you call to make a reservation, that is not possible. If you come in in the evening, they ask you in a half-full tent if you have made a reservation, otherwise you cannot eat there. Never go here. I never got an answering machine. But just the owner, just lies.

The food was very good and we enjoyed it. The steak was exactly as it should be and the vegetables still had some bite. The service was very nice and polite. We don't have to wait long either. We will definitely come back on our next visit to Cochem.

A wonderful establishment, simply Moselle rustic but with chic. I had a beef roulade with dumplings of red cabbage. Portion was decent but not overloaded. Good quality when purchasing the raw products and praise to the kitchen, well prepared. The dumplings were a little firmer than Schlunzig. No straw Klos.Roulade, no knife needed. A goulash soup in advance to warm up. Precisely.

Cozy interior. Comfortable chairs and enough space between the tables. Friendly, polite and very attentive service staff. As a starter, fried king prawns and as a main course the Argentinian rump steak, tagliatelle with spinach and prawns, and Balkan-style schnitzel. The side dishes we ordered were at the table in no time. Our food was very good in quality and taste. We were very satisfied and can recommend all of these dishes. We'd love to come back. A really nice restaurant with a great price-performance ratio. The portions are sufficient and we always received friendly service. We like to eat here as locals. I recommend making a reservation in advance as the restaurant is very busy. For us one of the best restaurants in Cochem.

This is one of the best restaurants in Cochem. People in the area recommended making a reservation, but I still went in without a reservation at 6 p.m. All tables had reservation signs on them, but after some consultation we were able to take a seat at a table. Service was super friendly and the food was great! Just a decent and tasty piece of meat as it should be for little. Price quality is perfect! It's a shame that they want to show everyone that all tables are reserved when that is not the case. In the hour and a half that we were there, 1 additional couple arrived. Perhaps a shortage of staff?

We had rump steak. Once with pepper sauce and once with onions. The meat was great and a clear recommendation. The beans also still have a bite. The staff was also very nice. Would come again.

Nous avons passé une soirée très agréable dans ce restaurant qui présente un choix varié de plats. Tant le poisson que le porc aux trois sauces étaient délicieux et la préparation était vraiment recherchée. Le serveur Julius était efficace et parlait parfaitement Anglais.

Traditional german menu executed well. Wine list featured only a few local producers but we had a lovely Riesling Spaetlese Trocken relatively cheaply. This place is unimpressive from the street but with old vaulted ceiling inside. Cochem has many tourist restaurants; this felt much nicer.

Very cold reception: we did not feel welcome to have a drink with 10 people around 4 pm: the lady was on a break and we were only allowed to use 1 table (no extra table added). We spent 50€ and she couldn't ask fast enough if we wanted to move the cars for the regular guests. No, I won't be back 😤

I have stayed at this hotel several times over the last few years and it never fails to impress me. Kirsten the owner always makes you feel really welcome. Rooms are always Immaculate and location is brilliant. The restaurant is also first class. I will obviously be returning.

We asked if there was a table available for 2 people and initially received a negative answer due to a lack of staff, until they listened again in the kitchen and it was still OK! Fortunately, because we had a delicious meal in this typical German restaurant with local dishes. We had the Schnitzel with mushroom cream sauce and the medallions with three sauces. The latter dish consisted of three rather small pieces of meat, although it was tasty.

We had a really good meal here yesterday. All recommended without exception. Super friendly staff, nice atmosphere and excellent quality food. The recommended wine was fantastic. Price/performance top! A must for every visit to Cochem! Be sure to reserve. Thanks to the entire team!

Small and cozy hotel, friendly welcome. Room is small and clean and has a view of the cable car and the mountain. Narrow bathroom with nice shower. Delicious dinner on the terrace with an excellent menu. Breakfast in the morning is extensive and delicious fresh warm rolls. Recommended if you stay in Cochem.

I can highly recommend the Unicum Restaurant Zum Onkel Willi to anyone if they want to eat well in Cochem. A rustic restaurant, beautiful modernized rooms, small groups or on the terrace. The food is excellent, regional and some organic. Fast service that fulfills every wish. Afterwards you can explore the area with a short walk or take the cable car. FIVE STARS PLUS ATTENTION: You should definitely make a reservation so that you can fully enjoy it. Just because there's a lot of space doesn't mean you have to occupy everything. Because this reduces the quality and quantity.

Tijdens onze vakantie zijn we hier een tweede maal komen eten omdat het zo lekker en verzorgd was. Zeer mooi gepresenteerd bord, grote porties. Heel eerlijke prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding. Duidelijk merkbaar dat gebruikte producten van heel goede kwaliteit zijn en heel vers. We proefden drie verschillende hoofdgerechten en twee verschillende desserten. Gezellig, verzorgd en heel proper restaurant.

A cozy hotel just 100 meters away from the center. The rooms are good and the beds nice and firm. You will find breakfast in the restaurant just downstairs, I can also recommend eating here in the evening, they make a good schnitzel. There is free parking right outside. There is a lot of noise from cars and trucks as they drive right outside.

I had dinner with my partner at Uncle Willi's on our holiday evening. I've never eaten so badly in recent years. Had grilled pork chop with chanterelles The cutlet consisted of two thirds of pure fat and everything was almost poorly seasoned and not nicely presented. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the chop. After I complained to the waitress, she said only one cutlet and always so much fat. In short, we'll never see this place again. We were there on motorbikes. The hotel is ideal for this. Extra parking space under the carport. Always received friendly service. The rooms were modern and comfortably furnished. The breakfast was completely sufficient and the dinner was delicious.

Diner kaart vond ik minder uitgebreid, maar het gerecht wat ik had besteld zaten verse groentes bij en het smaakt erg goed. De dame die ons bediende was professioneel en alert. A must for all visitors to Cochem! We ordered three meals. Grilled plate, zander fillet and goulash soup. All three dishes were excellent down to the last detail. 5 ⭐️ There are also 5 stars ⭐️ for the very friendly condition. The ambience also gets 5 ⭐️ An absolute delight and worth a visit!

In advance. The Gasthof Onkel Willi is very nicely decorated and I really enjoyed the food. So why do I still only give 2 stars? Because the service staff probably only knows the spelling of the term customer friendliness. Any examples? Wanted to sit at the head of a table. At this point there was a chair that was placed there by the staff. I was then directed to this place with the comment that there wasn't enough room for service if someone sat down there. Then why put a chair there? There were advertisements on the tables for regional Moselle beer. When I asked which regional beer they served, I was only told a dark beer from Mendig. During my stay I noticed that the advertised Moselle beer was later being served at the neighboring table. Another member of the group I was eating with wanted to top up a waitress's tip with a few copper coins. She replied that she would not accept copper coins because they would add too much to her wallet. All in all, behavior that you as a guest would definitely not want to experience from service staff. Even the really delicious food can't save it. Addendum: Today we had dinner at “Uncle Willi” again after more than 4 years. All the positives from 4 years ago remain, but the waitress who served us today was very friendly and very accommodating. A really great service. This makes you feel comfortable as a guest. I would then be happy to change the rating from 2 to a full 5 points.

Sfeerloos restaurant met teveel luidruchtige Hollanders. Matig eten voor een flinke prijs. Ultradunne diepvriesfriet en mayonaise uit plastic zakjes. Irish coffee besteld, maar die was op zaterdagavond 20.45 uur niet te krijgen.

Absolute Empfehlung! Toller Service - Tolles Essen. Wer in Cochem unterwegs ist, sollte dort unbedingt einkehren.

Bom serviço prestado pelos empregados. Comida de boa qualidade e bom grandes porções. Recomendo para comer comida tradicional.
