Everything is absolutely perfect here. The waiters, young and older alike, are very, very friendly, and the food is excellent. I even enjoyed the boiled potatoes; as ridiculous as it may sound, I've never had such great boiled potatoes in a dish before, so lightly buttery, with a hint of 🍋. So I wasn't surprised that you're not guaranteed a good meal without a reservation. And despite all that, the waiter still served everyone who arrived that evening and was able to seat them. Honestly, I was very, very, very satisfied that evening. And I hope we can be guests there again soon. Greetings from a very satisfied customer from Wittstock. 👍

I'd love to give the two waiters 10 stars. We've been to many restaurants, but we've rarely been served with such charm, wit, and yet refined restraint. The food is, of course, also excellent. If we're ever in Rheinsberg again, we'll definitely make a reservation well in advance (it's necessary) and come back.

On our third day in Rheinsberg, and after a culinary rollercoaster ride, we stopped at the "Alter Fritz" (Old Fritz) on the recommendation of the beer garden. The first revelation was the very warm welcome, along with a greeting from the kitchen... (carrot soup 😍) The main course overshadowed everything else. Absolutely worthy of a Michelin star... Ein besonders schöner Abend bei tollen Gastgebern und einer exzellenten Küche, die auch in Berlin jederzeit als solche Akzeptiert würde. Wir aßen im "Zum Alten Fritz" zu Abend und hatten eine 3-Gänge-Menü und als begleitenden Wein eine "Grünen Veltliner". Alles war perfekt und wir fuhren äußerst zufrieden wieder nach Hause nach Berlin. Allerdings sollte man im "zum Alten Fritz" tunlichst einen Tisch reservieren. Wir standen am Sonnabend zunächst vor vollem Haus und kehrten dann am Sonntag spontan nach dem Besuch der Hengstparade am preußisch-brandenburgischen Landesgestüt in Neustadt-Dosse nach Rheinsberg zurück und bekamen trotz des auch dann wieder vollen Hauses noch einen Tisch. Fazit: Ein wirklich tolles Restaurant an einem tollen Ort in einer sehr schönen und traditionsreichen brandenburgischen Stadt mit tollen Gastgebern und einer exzellenten Küche. Äußerst empfehlenswert!

Wonderful service and a very good meal. Table reservation worked perfectly. This restaurant is 100% recommended.

We were an English family group of 11 people and were able to book in advance a day in advance without any problem. We ordered different dishes and everyone was completely satisfied with them. Kudos to the boss/cook. Of course, language wasn't always easy, but with a little effort everything went well. Amuse bouche was welcome, the fish soup was excellent, and gnocchi dishes were also well received. The three children were all happy.

The restaurant impresses with its excellent food and attentive and warm service. It was an honor to be the last guests before the well-deserved winter break.

A cozy and manageable restaurant with a fireplace and very friendly service. A well-organized menu demonstrates the high quality and freshness of the dishes offered. We have rarely enjoyed a meal prepared with such love! If you are near Rheinsberg, you shouldn't miss this restaurant. We will be back and thank you for a wonderful evening and the perfect meal.

My wife and I spontaneously wanted to stop here for dinner. The restaurant was busy and before we could ask for a place for two, the innkeeper came up to us and asked curtly if we had made a reservation. We said no, embarrassed, and before we could say anything else, the innkeeper answered arrogantly, “then I have no room for them,” turned around and left us standing. No word of greeting or farewell, no word of regret, just undignified dismissal. I can't judge whether the man was just completely overwhelmed or simply of a simple, unprofessional nature. Luckily there are other inns in the immediate vicinity, so we were welcomed in a friendly and relaxed manner just 200m away (despite the full house!) and had an excellent meal there. I can only recommend restaurants in the surrounding area - see my other reviews.

Meine Frau und ich wollten hier spontan zum Essen einkehren. Das Restaurant war gut besucht und bevor wir nach einem Platz für zwei fragen konnten, kam der Wirt auf uns zu und fragte knapp, ob wir reserviert hätten. Wir verneinten verlegen und ehe wir noch weiteres sagen konnten, antwortete er arrogant „dann habe ich keinen Platz für sie“, drehte sich um und ließ uns stehen. Kein Wort der Begrüßung oder des Abschieds, kein Wort des Bedauerns, nur würdelose Abfertigung. Zum Glück gibt es in unmittelbarer Nähe weitere Gasthäuser, so wurden wir knapp 200m weiter freundlich und entspannt empfangen (trotz vollem Haus!) und haben dort hervorragend gegessen. Eine Empfehlung kann ich somit nur für umliegende Restaurants aussprechen - siehe meine anderen Bewertungen.

You enter the restaurant and are greeted by the warmth of the fireplace and immediately feel welcome. The warmth of the fireplace quickly fades behind the friendliness, warmth and attentiveness of the service. The entire ambience of the restaurant can only be described as "elegant coziness". Come in, take a seat and feel comfortable. The greeting from the kitchen, a Brussels sprout curry soup served in an espresso cup, was a dream. Goose breast and goose leg with dumplings and red and green cabbage are so delicious that it takes a lot of self-control not to lick the plate. The sauce could be served as a standalone dish with bread on the side. A compliment to the kitchen. For dessert, the gingerbread panna cotta. Wow, what a dessert treat. I have rarely eaten as well as I did here at Alten Fritz. Overall, the menu is clear with just a few dishes. But here less is simply more. A concentration on what you can undoubtedly do well there. Cook. A visit to Rheinsberg can be crowned with a visit to the Old Fritz.

If you want to spend a special evening, this is the right place for you. The food is very tasty. Lots of game dishes on the menu at the moment. My wild boar schnitzel was an absolute taste experience. Highly recommend the gold apricot after dinner.

After a long search for a place in a restaurant in Rheinsberg, we found “Alten Fritz”. We were warmly greeted and invited to the table. The service is first class. I have rarely felt so comfortable and welcome. The waiting time was a little longer, but given the quality of the food, I'm happy with every minute of waiting. We received a greeting from the kitchen in advance. Leeeeeeecker is all I say. The goose breast couldn't have been better and the side dishes were perfectly prepared. All in all a successful evening. If I could I would give 10 stars. Thanks!!!

We received a very friendly and warm welcome. The atmosphere was very cozy and there was a lot to discover when looking around. The waiter was very friendly (and really to all the guests) and still enjoyed the "old school" style. The food was really incredibly tasty and impressed with so many flavor components. Everything was really right and it was definitely not our last visit!

The visit to the restaurant was the best way to end the holiday for us! The menu is not overly full, but every dish is prepared carefully and to the point. All dishes tasted heavenly. Wir sind nach Möglichkeit 1x im Jahr zum Wochenend-Trip in Rheinsberg und werden im Alten Fritz nie enttäuscht. Der Empfang ist herzlich, der Service lässt keine Wünsche offen. Wir hatten immer gute Weine und das Essen ist optisch und geschmacklich perfekt. Die von uns bestellten Gerichte waren klassisch und überraschend kreativ zugleich und mit ganz viel Liebe angerichtet. Lob und Dank an den Koch und das ganze Team. Wir kommen gerne immer wieder.

The food is to die for. As a greeting from the kitchen there was a carrot and ginger soup. We can highly recommend the tapas and the braised lamb shank. We were there on a Sunday, hungry because it was full everywhere, and even though there wasn't a table left, we were still given a nice seat by "Grandpa". Absolutely charming, like the whole team. In our opinion, the best food in Rheinsberg with friendly and competent waiters who clearly enjoy their work. Beautifully designed inside, the toilets were also designed with attention to detail and were very clean. The best was also made of the situation outside. The prices are appropriate for the food, although they are in the upper price segment in the town itself. Conclusion: definitely happy again.

Always comes at the right moment and always has a little joke on his lips. And in the catering industry, service is always at least 50% of the overall impression 👍🏻 When the food came, we were completely filled with happiness and contentment. 😅👌🏻 Conclusion: absolute recommendation! Wir waren vor Jahren schon einmal angetan von dem Lokal und jetzt erneut. Topbedienung, übersichtliche Karte und es wird offenbar noch richtig gekocht. Nach Convinience Food sieht das jedenfalls nicht aus. Die Preise sind ok und wir waren happy!
