Restaurant Yakamoz in Hannover

I'm from Berlin, but in Hanover I found one of the best doner kebabs ever – maybe even the best. The meat is incredibly good, the bread is nice and crispy, and although the sauce is a bit too thick, it all works out perfectly. The service is excellent. Highly recommended!

At the Iskender Kebab, the tomato sauce was so hot it felt like it came out of a microwave. It also tasted very strongly of tomato paste. All the dishes were served one after the other, not together. Unfriendly service, even though there was no tip. What service after such a disaster? I won't be back, but I wish you continued success with the poor quality of the food and service. If you're friendly and serve good food, you'll also get a tip.

I've been a regular customer for almost 10 years and visit Yakamoz 2-3 times a year. We've been to other restaurants several times, and we always missed Yakamoz. We keep coming back to Yakamoz and promised ourselves that we'd never visit another restaurant again. The taste and filling quality were always top-notch at Yakamoz. Of course, until today's visit. The service is terrible. They don't speak German or Turkish. They simply placed cutlery on the table and told us to share it. The kebab doesn't taste the same as before. We wanted to order more drinks, but there was no staff around. We had to serve ourselves. The only positive thing was that we paid by card, but the bill also included fries, even though we ordered and didn't get them. The staff member corrected it immediately without discussion. I like coming to Yakamoz, but under these conditions, I honestly think twice about going back. I hope you improve and we'll be happy to come back.

We paid €85 for a doner kebab, Adana Dürüm, and fries, plus three Cokes, Fanta, and Sprite. It's not even that expensive on the menu. Unfortunately, I was so annoyed by the poor service that I realized the €85 was way too late, and it was actually €48 too much. Well, that was my own stupidity, but the service is abysmal and unfriendly. As a customer, you get no attention at all. We finished eating 30 minutes ago, and no one came to ask if we could have more, whether we liked it, the usual. On top of that, the floor and the tables were all filthy. Outside, the tables and chairs were broken. The doner kebab was disappointing, and the Adana, unfortunately, was only half-seasoned.

Very nice place and great Turkish grills in the middle of Hanover and the food is halal

Unfortunately, it's not as great as it was two years ago. The service was very quiet and didn't respond to our requests. Drinks didn't arrive until the main course was almost there. The main course tasted okay. The appetizer salad was dry, and the lemons looked like they'd been sitting on the counter for a while. I hope to see something better next time. We'll be back and hope for the best.

The falafel was really bad. No sauce, the salad was almost entirely leafy greens, and the bread was soggy. The sauce I ordered was almost inedible. The second dish wasn't tasty either. Never again.

The restrooms are a complete mess. The floor is wet everywhere. Customers we know are given priority, which leads to longer waits. Ayran comes in a plastic cup and water comes in a bottle. Today we had to ask for napkins and cutlery. Special requests are ignored, and the wrong food is served, which is also unseasoned and has very little flavor. Not again.

The food was okay, but nothing more; everything was pretty standard. The drinks arrived uncooled: a complete disgrace, especially on a hot day like today. The restrooms, however, were the last straw for us during our visit. Unfortunately, there was no trace of hygiene here, as both cubicles were filled with piss. Sorry, never again.

The shop looks clean and well-maintained. The extended opening hours, even during the week, are a plus. There's an order/takeaway counter, but table service is also available. Tables are plentiful, and the furniture is modern and inviting. The waitress was a bit taciturn and clearly wasn't having a good day, but overall, everything worked out and was okay. The food is okay. Not the worst kebab, not the best, and unfortunately a bit pricey. But if you're craving something late at night, it serves its purpose.

There's no better food in Hanover. I like to drive there from Oyten to eat.

Hair was in the food everything was cold really really bad

Unfortunately, a very disappointing experience. First of all: The staff was extremely unfriendly and inattentive. The floor was neither swept nor clean, and the entire area seemed unkempt. I only ordered a Coke – they brought me the bottle, without a glass. When I politely asked for a glass, the waiter just said "okay" and never brought it. Only when my friend went to the counter herself did we get glasses. One of my friends received a very rude response when she asked to swap her side salad – she said it was way too sour. The waiter's tone was truly disrespectful. To be honest, the waiter who served us didn't even seem to know what deodorant was – the smell was very unpleasant. A few of my friends ate something, but I don't know how the food tasted – I didn't order anything myself. 👉 I definitely wouldn't recommend this place. 👉 Unfortunately the visit was a complete failure.

Customers are disrespected, they speak Turkish as if we don't understand the language, and the tone of voice coming from the chefs in the kitchen is also very disrespectful and rude.

The only thing I can recommend here for my taste is the Mercimek soup and the salad, which taste excellent. Although I love meat, I have never found anything here in the last 20 years where I said wow, but everyone can form their own opinion and feel free to write to me.

We tried sitting upstairs but it was too loud so we had to sit outside in the cold , the food was overpriced and lacked salt spices and taste , one of us ordered a falafel that came with more salad in the sandwich than the actual falafel and again no salt or tomatoes , the drinks came in the original packaging and no cups , the server was with an additude like come on hurry up

Always like being at a friend's house. The food is delicious and plentiful. The service is very friendly and helpful. The wait is only a few minutes. Always happy to come back with my wife.

Called to make sure no alcohol was being sold as I'm paying attention to that. I was treated so disrespectfully on the phone. He got very angry at my simple question and said I should go back to my country if I didn't want alcohol, even though I was born here?! Disgusting service, disgusting offer and disgusting store!! The “Dürüm Döner” with veal was gristly and extremely fatty. The kebab, but especially the meat, were really inedible. For two dishes there was only one cutlery and the fries we ordered were completely forgotten. Personally, I will never eat there again. If the kebab had tasted good and the meat hadn't been so bad, the €9 would be okay, but not like that!!

I didn't like the cleanliness. When you come in and see how smeared the glass display case is and the chef is rolling a dürüm without gloves and has previously cashed in from another customer... you really feel like gagging. NO THANKS

Unfortunately my last review was deleted just because I told the truth. I'll summarize again: -Service and conditions were terrible, we were literally beaten up when ordering just because it took a little longer. We weren't even asked how we wanted the kebabs, the guy said I'd do it the way I wanted. - Salad didn't taste good, yoghurt was disgusting, kebab was very "empty", Ezme was forgotten and wasn't tasty when it was brought over. Tasted stale. My Tavuk sis was over salted and it doesn't even look like it came from the grill, more like it came from an electric grill. Maybe it was grilled, but it just tastes better with the competition. We came as a large family and paid over 200 euros, we were just finished off and there wasn't even an ikram at the end. Here you are treated badly and only get mediocre food. Please buy better yogurt and don't forget the salt in the salad. I was expecting Coban salatasi too, but it wasn't there. You still have to practice with the meat, neither Adana nor Tavuk was really good. Except for the bread, nothing was tasty.

The ambience under the large parasols conveys a true holiday feeling like no other place in Hanover. There is always something to look at. The food selection is great and also reasonably priced.

My brothers and I wanted to eat there together on Thursday, August 29th, 2024. It was very warm that day and we decided to sit outside. After waiting for over 10 minutes, no one served us, even though it wasn't busy at lunchtime. No problem at all. My brother then went in to say that we would like to order. After a short while the service came. A slightly older gentleman with gray-white hair. The waitress came to our table. No greeting. And he didn't hand us the menus, but instead threw them separately onto the table. And without saying a word, he left again. So honestly. You should treat your guests well and not like your enemies. We then immediately got up and chose another restaurant. Where we were warmly welcomed.

Always something going on and fast service. Salad and lamb were very tasty. It has its price but it is expensive everywhere 😉

The food was very good. At 32 degrees it had to be something light and it fit perfectly! Unfortunately, the order wasn't taken correctly, but due to language barriers with the gentleman who initially served us, there would be no way to follow up again... on the other hand, the gentleman we paid from spoke German and was super friendly! Last but not least: Even if an outdoor area is always difficult to keep clean, you can simply wipe down the tables as you pass by and pick up any trash left on the floor. That makes a big difference!

Just had dinner there. Service very bad. They take their time and prefer to play on their cell phones and count their tips instead of doing their work. After asking, the so-called waiters become rude and unfriendly. But the worst thing was, the food was inedible and raw. Prices have risen endlessly, which is bad in itself. There is nothing wrong with the food. But I keep noticing that hospitality is missing especially from a particular member of staff. Head waiter? I don't feel welcome here. Service was slow and happened casually during another conversation with Turkish guests, so the order was almost taken incorrectly because the attention of the other guests was of Turkish origin.

When cutting meat, please only cut the grilled white meat and not over the ungrilled white meat. Thanks

Super friendly staff, great atmosphere and above all, real Turkish food.

My girlfriend and I went to dinner with our children. Unfortunately we were disappointed. The drinks came in glass bottles for the children too. Straws and glasses were not available upon request. The courts did not come at the same time. That was too bad. The correct orders were not brought even though the store was relatively empty. What I found really disgusting was the very dirty and sticky children's chair (unfortunately all 3 looked like that). But the worst thing was the space for the children. Dirty and everything broken. The slide cars no longer had wheels and the rest were only there in pieces. Then it's better to leave this room alone. Unfortunately you could only pay in cash. I don't think it's contemporary. So we had to go to an ATM around the corner with a fee of almost €6 each. And that with the already very expensive dishes. The bill was also wrong. All in all, not what it used to be.

Even though we talked to them on the phone 2 times before and they said you could come, we didn't reserve a place. When 5 of our friends came for iftar, we barely got beaten. I will never even pass through the same street again.

Service catastrophe, we drove an extra 100 km and had even made a reservation beforehand as agreed. However, when we arrived no one knew about our reservation and we had to leave the store.

If you are looking for authentic kebab skewers and other Turkish/Kurdish specialties, this is one of the best addresses in Hanover! With a charcoal grill and clay oven, original taste is guaranteed. Very good price/performance ratio. I eat kebab here very regularly.

My visit to Yakamoz Restaurant left a bitter taste in my mouth and unfortunately I cannot share a positive experience. At first it was disappointing to see that our requests for changes to the dishes were not taken into account. It seemed as if the staff were not willing to respond to individual requests, which was a negative sign at the beginning. The service also left a lot to be desired. The food was served inadequately and uncoordinated, with some guests at the table already having their meals while others were still waiting. This created an unpleasant situation and an uneven experience for guests. The quality of the food was also disappointing. Some dishes were cold and seemed to have been ready for a while before they were served. This significantly affected the enjoyment of the food and added to our frustration. Overall, the visit to Yakamoz Restaurant was a disappointment. The poor quality of service, the ignorance of customer requests and the inadequate presentation of the food make it difficult to give a positive recommendation. There is clearly room for improvement before I would visit this restaurant again.

Der Service kann nicht wirklich als solcher bezeichnet werden: unaufmerksam, unfreundlich, wenig Interesse am Kunden. Die Preise sind für das Gebotene zu hoch. Kartenzahlung nicht möglich. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Delicious food and the price was very reasonable!

We went there for the first time as a family. Nice atmosphere and relatively quiet despite the size. We were served quickly and we didn't have to wait long for our food. Good portions and super tasty. Very friendly service. The toilet could be a little cleaner but otherwise everything is good and we will definitely be back.
