Restaurant Wunderbar in Schwedt/Oder

A very pleasant atmosphere, the service was very friendly and attentive. From the homemade mulled wine to the venison roast and the parfait, everything was delicious and arrived quickly. I'd gladly come again.

Yesterday, there were four of us at Wunderbar, and it was truly wonderful. The food was excellent (especially the schnitzel), and despite the large group, the service was very attentive and friendly. Reservations are recommended, as the restaurant is quite popular.

Yesterday, before our presentation at UBS, we visited the "Wunderbar" restaurant for the first time. It truly lives up to its name! Our meals—celery schnitzel in beetroot breading and schnitzel with scrambled eggs and shrimp—were a delight! The cappuccino and espresso afterward were also perfect. We received a very warm welcome and excellent service; even the friendly owner helped out. Thank you so much for this wonderful experience; we will definitely be back! We wish the entire team all the best and continued success with satisfied and enthusiastic customers like us!

The food wasn't very good, unfortunately; only one out of four guests was satisfied with their main course, but at least the waffle was tasty. Our waiter was rather rude at first when we asked about a vegetarian option. It seems the customer isn't always right. Because of this, we wouldn't come back, but the view was nice.

The food was very, very good. Delicious and plentiful. The only annoying thing was that the waiters/waitresses came by seemingly every 3-5 minutes to ask if everything was alright or if we needed anything else. Our glasses were still full, yet they kept checking on us. That was a bit irritating. Otherwise, though, it was excellent.

So, as a vegetarian or even vegan, I can't recommend eating here to ANYONE. While there are a few dishes, half of them were out of stock, leaving me with a far too oily vegetable stir-fry and unseasoned tofu. I could have cooked that better myself. The chefs urgently need to further their training in this area so that the taste is reflected in the dishes in the future.

I've been a guest several times. I'm always happy to come back.

There were 16 of us dining. The table was beautifully set and decorated. The food was actually quite tasty, but the ox cheeks, for example, weren't ox cheeks, but rather a different meat, and they were also tender in their preparation. The sauce had little flavor. The other dishes were quite good, though. What I didn't like at all was that the side dishes had to be paid for separately, especially considering the price of my meal. The service and staff were very good and very attentive.

Visiting Schwedt again...ended up at "Wunderbar" again...delighted again...incredibly delicious...and the service was fantastic....

I highly recommend this restaurant. My wife and I had lunch at the Wunderbar restaurant today. We received very attentive service. The atmosphere is simply cool. We sat outside, and the beautiful weather with the unobstructed view of the Oder was simply wonderful, making it a pleasure to enjoy every minute. The food was fantastic. I chose the pike-perch fillet, and it was absolutely delicious.

August 2025 Ate here before a concert at the Odertalbühne. Luckily, we had made a reservation. Extensive food selection, especially the schnitzel options. Excellent taste. Surprisingly, however, the prices were quite high for this area. For five people, there were only two menus, which could be improved in the future. Otherwise, the service was excellent, even though it was quite full. However, the card payment also needs improvement. You have to go to the counter and don't have a table number, so you have to awkwardly describe your table. But I can recommend it, and this restaurant will be on my list again next time.

A definite recommendation, right on the Oder River in Schwedt! The food – the Ragout Fin is particularly noteworthy – was prepared with excellent taste. I also appreciated the friendly and attentive service.

I ate at the "Wunderbar" restaurant in Schwedt and was absolutely thrilled! For my starter, I had a "small" spiced meat (and yes, that's more than enough) – it was not only delicious, but also brought back childhood memories. A great way to start the evening. My main course was a schnitzel with fried mushrooms and fried potatoes – simply delicious! The meat was tender, the mushrooms were perfectly seared, and the fried potatoes were just as they should be: crispy and flavorful. The atmosphere is pleasant, the service attentive and friendly – ​​you immediately feel at home. For me, this is definitely a place I would happily recommend and certainly won't be the last time I visit.

I ordered a fish plate with a shrimp skewer and was unfortunately very disappointed. The shrimp were completely dried out and burnt, as was the salmon fillet—barely edible. The tuna, on the other hand, was half-raw and had an unpleasant texture. Overall, the dish was simply disgusting in its state and absolutely not what you should expect in a restaurant.

...neither in terms of taste nor in terms of staffing. I know it's hard to find staff in the restaurant industry...but the young girl serving today was also awful. Phew...unbelievable rather than "wonderful."

Ready in 30 minutes, everything has to go quickly, Mitropa atmosphere, eat quickly and leave. My husband had schnitzel with "brandy potatoes." My meal was okay except for the herb cream, which was sour. We sat in the aisle, which was uncomfortable.

The food was very good and tasty, and the staff were all very friendly and polite. The terrace is a lovely place to sit. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I can't confirm the negative word of mouth. The service, the little chat with the waitress, and the food were all top-notch! The fried potatoes were NOT swimming in grease on the plate, which I've experienced many times elsewhere. Definitely recommend it!

I can't comment on the food right now, but what I can say is that the organization is chaotic. Two tables that arrived much later than us got their food first... It wouldn't be so bad if there were no children with us and no other time pressures or obligations. And no one even came to apologize. I've experienced a lot, but never such a complete failure.

We went here for dinner twice during our visit to Schwedt. Once we had a large roast beef and ribs, and on the other visit we had schnitzel. We were completely satisfied and would happily recommend Wunderbar.

We managed to get a table for two at this restaurant at short notice through a friend for 6 p.m. on a Friday evening. We're still at a loss for words! Why isn't there such a lovely restaurant, with super friendly service and such great food, in Hamburg?! If we're ever in Schwedt again, we'll be back and we'll reserve a table in advance! We ate there before an event and reserved the table for 4 p.m. The service is super friendly and attentive. The food was super tasty. We all had four different types of schnitzel and as described in the menu, it was lean and freshly prepared. The children then had a waffle with hot cherries for dessert. These too are fresh and delicious. Why not 5 stars because the ambience seems to be expandable. Why are there large lamps on the table, which I have already seen for outdoor use? This type of lamp is also available in a slightly narrower and prettier version. We would come back. Thank you very much

We were there in front of the theater and wanted to eat, but without a reservation. 5.45 pm Entry into the restaurant... empty... the waiter's friendly information. Well, I don't think they'll make it to the theater... the reservations arrive at 6 p.m. and they have priority... I think we would definitely have agreed to have dinner before 6 p.m. Very unfortunate

We went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday after Nicole's concert. It was actually fully booked due to pre-orders, but they still found a two-person table for us. What awaited us then was a well-functioning team, a charmingly funky, funny boss - a grenade of poles who maneuvered even the heaviest tray to every table and numerous other people who worked very well together and mastered even the biggest simultaneous rush. Given the name of the restaurant, we assumed that this was where you would have a small drink after a nice day. We weren't aware of the importance of a restaurant - so I went down in history as the "I'm not hungry but without a salad". It was a very successful end to a wonderful day - praise from Eisenhüttenstadt for the entire team!

We actually just wanted to have a coffee - but the friendly service won us over with a charming smile and a look at the menu. In the end it was a delicious asparagus cream soup and a wonderful asparagus dish - both a real treat! The food was excellent, the atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was simply fantastic - attentive, warm and with genuine joy in the service. We'll definitely be back!

I paid with the Visa Debit Card today and received a rejection. The expiry date had expired, which was not true. Either you don't want to pay with Visa Debit or the reader wasn't suitable.

We were there for the first time on Saturday. The service was very friendly and always had a smile on their faces. We didn't wait long for drinks or our food. It was super tasty and generous portions. We would come back again and again.

Very friendly staff. Nice ambiance. Very busy and warm. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the food. A salad plate for €17. It only contained tomato, cucumber, and lettuce. I wouldn't even make a salad at home with just those three ingredients. What a shame!

The schnitzels look great and taste great too. There's still room for improvement with the steak. My husband's steak was the last piece of meat. I think you have to be careful! Otherwise the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was good.

I've eaten kebab in many places. But rarely have I been reminded of my childhood like this. The kebab was large and plentiful. There was enough sauce to go with it, which I personally really like because I don't like eating my kebab dry. The staff was friendly and willing to chat. I am overall satisfied and recommend the shop to anyone who wants to eat a large kebab with a lot of meat. The ambience, you can argue about it but ultimately it's just a kebab shop.

We visited this restaurant for the first time at Christmas 2024. Unfortunately we have to say that we were very disappointed. We were told to sit down and wait for the menu. This had been going on for a long time. When we finally had a menu and were able to order the drinks, we were sad to find that the menu had been extremely shortened for Christmas. In addition, prices have been increased by up to 30% especially for the holidays. Two examples: A schnitzel with mushrooms and fries normally costs €18.90 and was increased to €23.90 for Christmas and New Year's Eve. Fried chicken breast strips in a fine coconut curry cream sauce “normally” cost €15.10 and during the holidays we paid €19.20. Drink prices were also drastically increased. The waiting time for our ordered food was also underground. We had to wait a whopping 1 hour and 45 minutes. During this time we were asked several times if we would like any more drinks. That was noticeable and very penetrating but understandable, because people wanted to sell a lot given the increased prices. What you have done here is the worst rip-off and fraud because you did not inform us about the increased prices. The name “WunderBar” says it all here. In this restaurant/bar you can experience your blue wonder. The menu is in a glass box in front of the restaurant. This was turned around especially for the holidays so that no one can see the “normal” prices. (see photo) You will never have us as guests in your restaurant again and we hope that many will read this review and avoid this restaurant.

Ordered lamb's lettuce as a starter, got oak leaf lettuce, at the same time as the main course. Plus a discussion about what lamb's lettuce is....weird and even annoying. To explain to the chef and staff: lamb's lettuce = rapeseed lettuce, you can read it like this. The tagliatelle with mushrooms were literally drowned in the cream sauce, an absolute “no go” in my opinion. The rather unsatisfactory quality of the food and the rather high prices have always struck me on my 3 visits so far and unfortunately it overshadows the otherwise nice ambience. I didn't want to give negative feedback immediately after the first visit, everyone should get at least a second chance. Unfortunately without any improvement. Too bad, that was my last visit. Vote with your feet.😒

We had dinner here yesterday with the company. There were 22 people with a wide variety of menu requests and everything was served to perfection. Even the extra requests that were not on the menu were well addressed and implemented. The service was top. Super nice waiters, always there and helpful. The food tasted great. That's why I'm happy to leave 5 stars here.

The ambience was very good at the window to the Oder. We had, among other things, roast venison. The roast venison was seared too violently and for too long. Therefore a thick dark layer around the meat. In addition, the roast was not braised for 55 minutes and was therefore very firm to the bite. The schnitzels generally tasted good. We were quite satisfied.

Back to the concert in Schwedt today. Then off to the Wunderbar restaurant. Service, food and ambience excellent. Gladly again. A restaurant with class. Lots of things homemade and selected drinks. You feel in good hands here. It's very rare to find these days.

Ambiance is good so far except for a window that has been broken for a long time. Probably some slobs but what's the use? It doesn't look good. You should still think about vegetarian options. Just warm vegetables and tofu without a bit of sauce and no vegetable specifics The spices just don't taste good. The tofu wasn't even remotely slightly brown. But that should be possible. The other four food with five stars 👍

Saturday July 27th time 3:15 p.m. You will be placed! The interior was empty. There were three tables occupied on the terrace. A total of about 12 guests. There were two of us and we wanted to eat something. The waitress said: "You have to hurry up. The tables are all reserved for 17.oo "We looked at each other and agreed that we could do it. But now we waited for our drinks order. When we ordered two drinks we waited 20 minutes for them. During this time we realized why we were should hurry up. I imagined that the food would then be on the table at 4:50 p.m. With this attitude you lose your appetite. In addition, all side dishes have to be paid for separately. Proud prices!!! We paid for the drinks and went to the Chinese restaurant a few meters away.

Clean restaurant which is also easily accessible with a wheelchair or walker. Staff friendly and helpful. We sat on the terrace today and enjoyed the view of the water. We ate here on August 3rd, 24 at 7:00 p.m. I have rarely enjoyed such an excellent, sumptuous meal at such a fair price. A big compliment to the kitchen and waiters. Keep it up!

The location of the restaurant is wonderful. A little elevated on the water 🥰 the service is very good! Great waiters - nothing was missing. But unfortunately the food wasn't that good. Pike perch fillet... it just didn't taste good (like old oil). That was a shame 😔 and the drink prices were just too much… a small glass of Aperol €7.20; Given the price in Schwedt an der Oder, the glass should at least be full 🤓

I really can't even give this one star. We were there and wanted to eat something. The whole restaurant was empty except for 2 tables. It was unpleasant that the staff made derogatory comments, even though you're standing right next to it. Then we were sent away in a very unfriendly manner because they didn't feel like having guests. No thanks. Never again. Used to be here when it was still called Martin's. It was great there.

That was a very good start to a lovely evening. The menu is quite extensive and if you can't find anything here - sorry - it's your own fault. We were here very early and our food was served promptly. For 7 meals - great. The service was also good. The experienced employees were great, the newer service staff were still unsure. But that too will happen.

Here, the name speaks for itself. We had reserved and, weather permitting, a table on the terrace overlooking the water. The service was very friendly and quick. The food was fantastic, everything freshly prepared. The wine was also very good. Even if we live a bit away, we will definitely come back, even without going to the theater. Highly recommended, reserve to be on the safe side.

The food was delicious and the waiters were attentive. Only the guy behind the bar ruined the overall experience. He was nasty and rude to me when I took photos of the outside. When I asked him about it later, he was unreasonable and expelled me from the restaurant with the words “from now on.” That's not how you treat people! Especially not if you “work” in service and want to see your guests again!

Saturday. 3:00 p.m. 3 tables occupied. 20 tables free. No greeting from the staff even though you said hello yourself. Apparently all the tables were reserved (in Schwedt!) and the kitchen couldn't accommodate 4 more people. If you don't feel like having guests, you should reconsider your career. Underground staff

We had a very good meal here 1.5 years ago and were already looking forward to our new visit in connection with our Schwedt trip. Today, shortly after 3:00 p.m., we (4 adults) enter the store, greet us warmly - but the two employees at the counter pay us no attention. Without a hello, our request for a table was rejected. There was no reasonable explanation. Yes - capable, motivated staff is difficult to find these days - as you can see here again. Keep your eyes open when choosing a career. Another restaurant happily took our orders (and, in the end, our money).

So the ambience is wonderful but far too dark. The service, well what can I say, it's pretty good, they made an effort, there are a lot of little things, maybe the staff are a little more schooled. The prices are really cheeky for what is on the plate or in the glass the glass of wine is 10€ e.g. It's not like you have to starve, but they're really great.

Unfortunately there wasn't enough on the menu, despite repeated announcements. Food was ok. What bothered me was the conversation between the waiters right at the bar. The last drink order took a long time. Overall it was fine and maybe we just caught the wrong day. You can't always get 5 stars.
