Restaurant Wasserschloss Wittringen in Gladbeck

The cuisine was very good, but the management of the restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. On three visits we were asked to leave the table in 10 minutes each time. After we had dined for 2 hours for around 100 euros, we were asked to vacate the table because of alleged additional reservations (which we were not made aware of beforehand!!!!) So the birthday was ruined again! The guests at the neighboring tables were very angry about the way the waiters treated us! Thank you too!!!

We went to eat in Wittringen again after a long time and were a bit disappointed. The service was mediocre, the food was delicious, but unfortunately the price-performance ratio was no longer right. It's a shame, we celebrated our wedding there 5 years ago, ate there several times and were very impressed. Unfortunately it wasn't like that yesterday.

😊👍 Food delicious. The service is in great need of improvement. Unfortunately, the used dishes are only cleared away very, very late. Nice outdoor dining, the restaurant is cramped, loud and uncomfortable. The toilets were still adequate for the large crowds. Wi-Fi for guests is noteworthy.

I come here often... last time we ate fries and a hamburger - with a non-alcoholic beer... I can only recommend it - the fries in particular were a blast - we were very satisfied.

Having had a very wet walk around the area we decided on the restaurant. While I was otherwise engaged my wife (who actually speaks pretty decent tourist German) was told by the waiter that the kitchen did not open until 12.30pm. At 12.30pm he told us it was 1pm! We were not happy having already waited 40mins. Oh, & yes, we do understand the German 'half-hour' thing being different to the UK. He was just wrong! I say there, fuming, composing the worst review ever in my head, until the food arrived. It was only cream of tomato soup, but it was the best I have ever, ever tasted. I didn't realise it, but it was worth every minute of the wait. If the rest of their food is this good they're doing well.

Ambience and service are good. I ordered pulled pork, 200g with lettuce and pickles, red cabbage. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. Meat was almost non-existent. Under a mountain of sauce, a tablespoon of meat and the rest mushy lettuce, pickles and red cabbage. A horror for the palate 🙁

We wanted to eat cake with them today and asked the waitress if we could sit here. She sent us to the self-service service where there were two cakes. I turned around and saw at least 12 cakes in the restaurant. Then I asked the waiter who was already very stressed. .whether we can eat this cake there too, he said quite mushy that they can only eat it here then just sit it here 🙄 simply impossible 😬 I don't think they quite agree. The waitress probably didn't welcome us because we Didn't eat, we went to Gasthof Berger and the staff there was really friendly. We will definitely not recommend Wittringen Castle 👎

Unfortunately you won't be served here. I initially waited at the place for 15 minutes. When a waitress finally came to the next table, I was only greeted with a "Hello" and before I could order, she was gone again! Another 5 minutes later I briefly point out. The waitress, seeing me, waves back exaggeratedly and disappears. After 20 minutes I left. Well, I'll just leave my money somewhere else :)

Very well-kept and upscale atmosphere. Food and drink excellent. The toilets are also absolutely clean. Service very courteous and etiquette safe. No wonder the King of Holland has dined here. I always enjoy spending time in the cozy beer garden with my St. Bernard. WiFi reception is also good, so you can work from there. The prices are absolutely reasonable.

A little short on staff, otherwise great

The Wittringen moated castle is worth a visit. The ambience is picturesque. The food is delicious, beautifully prepared. The service is very friendly and quick. You will be served quickly. There are enough parking spaces, there are two parking spaces, one directly in front of the castle and one a little further away that leads to the castle through a footpath along the water. Unfortunately, there is a charge for parking until a point in the evening.

Amazing location, great staff, normal prices, the entire site is perfect for a quick getaway with family, plenty of nature, playgrounds, and more.

It took a while before we could order, but then drinks and food followed quickly. Good chicken schnitzel where you have to order a sauce separately. You get a lot, salad delicious and served separately. Kidsburger was also quite large for a children's menu. Furthermore, a nice restaurant. Definitely recommended! The cakes looked delicious, but we were already (too) full from the main course.

The four of us visited the restaurant very spontaneously on a hot day. We received a friendly welcome and were offered a selection of tables where we would like to linger. The climate was pleasant, despite the outside temperature being 35 degrees. The service was always present, but not intrusive. The menu offers great dishes, not too many but not too few either. The food came very quickly and tasted really excellent! We can only recommend the restaurant.

Nice ambience Were not served and were greeted unfriendly at reception. You can't come over spontaneously with more than 4 people. We were simply sent away with 12 people.

Food was good. My flesh was as light as the sole of a shoe, otherwise the others were good. Service employees seemed unmotivated and annoyed. Ambience was great, especially with the adjacent playground

I am disappointed with the outdated service in the Wasserschloss Wittringen restaurant. In a digital world, it is incomprehensible that there is no way to receive a voucher online or by mail. Instead, you are forced to collect the voucher in person, which is completely impractical in many cases. This lack of customer service clearly shows that they are not keeping up with the times. It's a shame that such a nice restaurant is completely behind in this regard. This version focuses on the main points of criticism and goes straight to the point.

Really nice park Food was 1a Staff quick and super friendly I personally thought the price was OK for this location.

We had dinner here yesterday to end our holiday and we really enjoyed it! My husband ordered Zuricher Art and he found it exceptionally tasty! He says I would drive another 3 hours to eat this!! Service and conviviality top! And the castle is simply beautiful and a great photo location. We will definitely come back here!

All you can say is it's a disgrace. We stood in line with the waitress to ask if there was still a table available. Then another waitress came who didn't even greet us then pushed my husband aside and told him not to stand in the way. It wasn't the first time that people were treated so rudely there. Definitely we won't come back.

Were there today for the first time and also for the last time. Although it looks very nice there. Went there for dinner with 4 people this evening. It was very loud in the restaurant and it was difficult to have a normal conversation. The starter was very good. I have to be honest. Unfortunately we had to wait over 1.5 hours for the main course. And then the food for three people was cold. I then complained about my burger, they apologized and my food was taken away. After a quarter of an hour my burger came back. Unfortunately still cold. I complained to him again and was told that they wouldn't eat a burger. I would have liked to speak to the boss, I also asked for it but unfortunately it was rejected. I then said that I didn't want to eat anything anymore. Then the Kellern said that I had to take the food like that. I had it packed up for me. Because I can eat it cold at home.

Top food, fair prices, great ambience, quick, discreetly friendly service...What more could you want?

Very nicely located on or in a moated castle.😍 I've been there very often and have never been disappointed. The public viewing is also very attractively decorated with a beer and sausage stand.

Wir waren am 29.6. zum Public Viewing im Schloss . Die Speisen die wir mit 7 Personen hatten waren alle Top . Die Location ein Traum . Service der Kellner war gut . Die Organisation der Veranstaltung ein einzige Katastrophe. Pro Person 5 Euro Mindestverzehr war noch ok . Am Eingang bekam man Wertmarken die man an dieversen Ständen einlösen konnte . Dann begann das Chaos . Wasser bekam man nicht beim Kellner nur an einem Stand gegen Marken . Für 0,7 Liter Kastell Wasser 10 € !!!!! Beim Kellner Wein etc . Nur in Plastik Bechern . Am Nebentisch gab es auch Gläser und Glasflaschen ! An unserem Tisch Kaffee in Tassen und Latte im Pappbecher!! Der Kellner schob das Chaos auf die Organisatoren . Leider völlig planlos . Machen wir nicht mehr .👎🏻

A super beautiful park and the Wittringen moated castle in the middle. Very good for long walks. And then sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the delicious cake 🍰 and ☕. Friendly service. Gladly again.

The portions were really great. We were all very well fed and the price was reasonable. The side dishes, fries and stamp were perfect. Not too greasy and still has pieces in the mash. Before that there was a salad. The dressing was already added. The only thing that was noticeable was that the waiter made empty aisles every now and then.

We made reservations as a group and were asked if we wanted to order food at 5:00 p.m. which was answered in the negative. When we ordered at 6:00 p.m. the food arrived at 9:00 p.m. with the reason that we didn't want to order right away. When we asked why it wasn't pointed out that the food would be served later, we were given a cursory answer - we didn't want to order straight away. Conclusion: rude staff who cannot handle criticism and an absolute lack of organization. Every chip shop gets better food for a registered party

I was there for the second time today. It's time to give some praise. The location is great, the food tastes wonderful. The service was also very good. Toilets clean and well maintained. In short: absolute recommendation 🙂

Yes, admittedly it was busy today, very busy on a sunny Sunday. Also probably a big event, first communion. We were told, 5 people, that we could sit down and order drinks. But the kitchen has an acceptance stop of half an hour. Totally fine, such a rush can happen, absolutely no problem. After more than an hour without paying any attention, I dared to go in and ask about the current status. At the counter, obviously the boss, which was confirmed when I asked by the obviously embarrassed service staff about her boss's appearance. Unfriendly, interrupting me several times and clearly aggressive, I was told that it would definitely be at least 20 minutes before we were even allowed to order. Again, this can happen, but it is a question of communication and, above all, problem-solving strategy. I pointed out to the clearly annoyed boss that we were there with three small children and would certainly not have taken a seat if we had known about the waiting time from the start. Her answer was unbeatable in terms of unprofessional audacity: since we hadn't even made a reservation We have no right to anything at all and it is their decision whether we are served at all. Yes, hossa... good night gastronomy. Things like that happen, yes there are problems, perhaps even a lack of staff today. But a good restaurateur must be able to deal with something like this through politeness, quality as a host and solutions to the problem. You could have just come to the table, apologized, informed us, maybe offered the children a scoop of ice cream, anything, but ignored it, taken zero responsibility, zero solutions, that's just not possible. This lady is not a hostess, not a restaurateur, and if you saw the looks in her employees' eyes, then she's probably not a pleasant boss either... Of course I can't rate the food, but that will never happen.

If I could give zero, I would have liked to give zero. Because the waiters are very unfriendly and they never pay attention to customer satisfaction. Never thought you could be so cheeky. You've been waiting for more than half an hour and your order hasn't even been taken. So, never again!!!

Food great as always. But unfortunately the service deteriorates significantly. When I pointed out to the young, dark-haired waitress that the beer was filled well below the calibration mark, she replied sloppily that it was normal and the rest was foam. I insisted on a new beer and received it with reluctance and put it on the table emotionlessly. Unfortunately, a company stands or falls with its employees. For me this experience was the last time, although I had enjoyed coming for years. They also forgot to give us the asparagus menu. Unfortunately we only found out AFTER eating. Unfortunately no longer recommended unless the service changes significantly.

A beautifully located location with courteous staff, the best food and a great ambience. A visit is always worth it and can easily be combined with a long walk. We were here for coffee and cake as well as dinner.

First we waited about 20 minutes for a waiter, then ordered drinks and food, the drinks came quickly, but the food took about 50 minutes. I had the cheddar cheese burger... I would rather call it a tomato ketchup burger. Actually you should blame the chef, a burger that tastes like tomato ketchup is really not nice, to put it nicely. The fries that came with it consisted almost entirely of crust and were completely tasteless and without salt. But now something positive: The prices are mid-range and the ambience is beautiful and is located in the middle of a park.

Frustrated staff who don't want to have customer contact should stay at home. By that I mean the lady who served us. Service is not just about serving, but about making sure that the GUEST feels comfortable. Food ok, but nothing special. Ambiance inside very pleasant.

Very tasty, haven't been disappointed so far. Pleasant atmosphere. Since the restaurant opened, we have always enjoyed coming to Marijana and Goran at the Wittringen Moated Castle.

We came with 2 children and were obviously not wanted. Free tables and it was said that they were fully reserved. After a long back and forth, we were allowed to drink coffee and eat cake at a bar table...unfortunately it didn't go well...and they came None of the many reservations in these 45 minutes...unfortunately not a nice experience in this very customer-unfriendly restaurant with extremely snippy staff...we won't be coming back!

I was traveling by train and bike again... Bruschetta and bread with garlic cream for a small hunger. Very tasty and attractively prepared. However, I was missing some parmesan as a bruschetta topping. The service was distantly friendly, and attentive. The ambience surprised me. Very tasteful with lots of details. I was actually expecting and hoping for a typical castle restaurant. But I felt very comfortable because the facility convinced me. The food from the other guests also looked really tasty. I will definitely cycle here again in the summer. Eat something delicious and explore the area.

I can't recommend it any more... We were there 2 weeks ago. I received oil that had expired for 2 years with my salad... when I told them about this, I received the next bottle of olive oil from the waiter Lieblos that was also expired for 3 years. I then let the salad go back. Neither an apology nor a drink on the house was offered... We were customers there for many years, but not anymore... the salad was still charged at 24.50 euros. Unfortunately, there was no response to an email I sent to the owner. A pity... They probably don't need it. So be careful which oil you get with your salad🙃😊🤨

Amazing, and I repeat AMAZING! Atmosphere 5* Service 5* Food 5* Drinks 5* I'd highly recommend going to the restaurant and after eating, to go out for a walk. Amazing views and fresh air. Everything on the menu so far has been just fresh, tasty, and made with love and cate. Can't wait to go back again and again.

Everything inside was full and we had to wait with our 3 1/2 year old daughter until something was free. It's a shame that on a sunny day like today you're not allowed to eat a piece of cake outside with the family. Especially if you offer that you don't need any service but rather run it yourself. Of course we went somewhere else.

This evening there were 4 of us in the restaurant. We had starters (tomato soup, goat cheese and bread), a burger, corn-fed chicken, minced steak and fillet and for dessert mousse au chocolate and caramel ice cream. Everything was really well prepared and very tasty! The staff were friendly and attentive. All in all a lovely evening! See you next time!!

On Boxing Day we like to go out to dinner with our grandparents, this year at Wittringen Castle. The special menu wasn't cheap, but the food was extremely tasty and everyone was happy. We had duck, castle plate with three medallions/potato gratin/salad and sliced ​​meat with röstis. We shared dessert and Grandma took leftovers with us for tomorrow. The table times were staggered every 2 hours, which was sufficient. We would like to be invited there next year

We were there this evening for Boxing Day with our family (8 people). There was a small menu, but enough choice. The portions were a good size, everyone was full. And it was just delicious. We would love to come back...

Ich liebe diese Location. Sei es mal nur ein Cappuccino , Espresso/Kaffee oder ein vollständiges Menü, ich wurde immer herzlich Willkommen. Nicht ohne Grund kehrte hier der niederländische König ein. Das zeigt wie hochwertig dieses Lokal ist

Ich kann die negativen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Wir waren schon einige Male dort und sind stets freundlich bedient worden. Das Essen ist von sehr guter Qualität und absolut schmackhaft.

Wirklich gutes Essen und tolles Ambiente. Nur leider wird einem der Besuch nur selten gegönnt. Entweder das Café ist entgegen der Öffnungszeiten geschlossen, man bekommt nur einen Tisch mit einer Reservierung oder aus unerklärlichen Gründen bleiben Bereiche geschlossen, sodass der Verbleib ganz verwehrt bleibt. Nicht für einen spontanen Besuch geeignet und nicht wirklich Zielgruppenorientiert.

Nette, kompetente Bedienung und wirklich wahnsinnig geschmackvolles Essen! Wir waren als Gruppe hier. Vom Burger über Ochsenfetzen (Filetspitzen) Gnocchi, einfach als top! Klasse Küche, mega Team!

Wir sind des öfteren hier, weil man hier in einem schönen Ambiente sein Essen genießen kann! Das Personal ist immer freundlich und zuvorkommend insbesondere die Servicekraft Astro, ein wirklich toller Mensch in jeglicher Hinsicht! Er versucht wirklich alles, damit sich der Gast rundum wohlfühlt! Was aber nicht heißen soll, daß das übrige Personal fies nicht auch beabsichtigt! Wir kommen immer wieder gerne hierher. Es gehört mittlerweile zu unserem Stammrestaurant.

Wir waren erst gestern noch da, anlässlich unseres 38. Hochzeitstag, haben wir immer einen schönen Abend dort verbracht. Freundliche und aufmerksame Bedienung sowie ausgezeichnetes Essen für jeden Geschmack! Kommen immer wieder gerne hier hin!

Wir haben letztes Wochenende ( 26.8. ) das Kaminzimmer anlässlich des 50. Geburtstages meines Mannes gebucht. Jetzt mal davon abgesehen, dass die Kommunikation zwischen dem Eventmanager und uns mehr schlecht als recht war ( wir mussten über den Manager kommunizieren und konnten uns auch vorher die Location nicht anschauen ) ist im Resultat alles gut verlaufen!!! Wir haben uns ein Buffet zusammengestellt. Eine Getränke- Auswahl getroffen. Die Tische waren schön eingedeckt, mit gewünschten Menuekarten. Die Küche hat ein superleckeres Essen gezaubert ( unsere Gäste waren begeistert )! Unsere Bedienung für den Tag war spitze- nochmal einen ganz herzlichen Dank an Astro !!!! Foltt und topp!!! Herzlich und aufmerksam!! Alles in allem kommen dafür nur 5 Sterne 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 in Frage! Wir hatten tolle Stunden- danke dafür ❤️

Wir haben gestern die Einschulung unserer Tochter dort mit einem Essen gefeiert und ich muss sagen, ich werde dort definitiv noch öfter Gast sein🥰 Das Essen war einfach grandios. Und bitte, nehmt Pommes als Beilage! Das waren mit Abstand die besten Pommes! Der Service war super freundlich und auch die Preise sind angemessen! Absolute Empfehlung👍

Einfach zusammengefasst: Sehr schönes Schloss. Großer Volksauflauf. Schöner Park. Essen (Rumpsteak/ Salat/ Lammkotelett) befriedigend, Bedienung befriedigend, Preis fast schon auf Sterneniveau, kurz: für die Qualität zu teuer. Trotzdem ist die Location schön und familientauglich, aber beim nächsten Mal essen wir dort dann eher Burger. Vielleicht ist das deren Spezialität. Ansonsten gehen wir für 40,- EUR/ Person aufwärts mit Weinbegleitung besser woanders hin.

Schönes, gediegenes Ambiente im alten Wasserschloss Wittringen, sehr freundliche und zuvorkommende Bedienung, tolles und leckeres Essen. Einfach zum Kaffee und Kuchen, Eis oder herzhaftes Mittagessen, draußen im Biergarten oder drinnen im Schloss. Die Speisekarte ist vielseitig, aber nicht völlig überladen. Das Essen ist definitiv frisch und individuell zubereitet, keine aufgewärmte Convenience-Food. Die Wartezeit für bestimmte Menüs kann länger als eine halbe Stunde dauern, das ist es aber kulinarisch wert. Getränke oder einfache Vorspeisen kommen aber sehr schnell. Einziges Manko: Warsteiner im Ausschank. Biertechnisch geht das kreativer oder regionaler (Stauder, Fiege, König, Potts). Trotzdem 5 Sterne

Das Essen war in Ordnung, hat geschmeckt, aber auch nix besonderes. Hatten Schnitzel Wiener Art mit Salat und Pommes und eine großen Salat. Schnitzel, Pommes ja war gut, aber mehr auch nicht. Von der Portion hätte 1 gereicht, es waren 2 pro Portion, dafür lieber etwas günstiger. Bekannte hatte großen Salat ohne Zutaten. Salate werden nur mit einem Dressing angeboten. Als die Bekannte den Salat fast fertig hatte, sah sie 2 Fleischbeilagen im Salat, die eine lebte noch. Auf die Reklamation reagierte dad Personal seht billig mit der Standartaussage: Sorry, aber es ist Wildsalat dabei. Als Entschuldigung gab es einen Kaffee auf das Haus. Da hätte ich mehr erhofft und auch gefordert. Schon etwas armselig das Verhalten. Ebenso das Bezahlen: Alles wird modern aufgenommen und am Ende macht das Personal die Abrechnung auf einem Block mit Bleistift. Bon gibt es nur auf Bitten und Betteln, das sagt das Personal aber erst nach dem Zahlen. Dass wir alle / die meisten mit EC-Karte zahlten hat dem Personal nicht so gefallen. Warum wohl🤔🤔 Lage und Ambiente sind toll. Aber ansonsten auch nur befriedigend.

Wir durften unsere Traumhochzeit im Gildensaal feiern ❤️ein herzliches Dankeschön an das gesamte Team !Das Servicepersonal, der absolute Hammer , zuvorkommend, freundlich und mit Herz bei der Arbeit . Das Essen war einfach super lecker ! In diesem Ambiente einfach ein Traum ! Danke

wir hatten einen wunderbaren abend im restaurant. die küche ist solide und sehr schmackhaft. die aussicht auf das wasser grossartig. unsere bedienung war anbetungswürdig. aufmerksam; auch aus 10 meter entfernung hat sie uns jeden wunsch freundlichst von den lippen abgelesen. es war dort wirklich das geld wert. wir sind gesättigt und hoch zufrieden durch wittringen zurück nach hause geschlendert. das hätten wir in dieser asistadt so nicht erwartet. fünf gerne gegebene sterne. 😊

Das Essen war sehr lecker, Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam.Das Ambiente ist top.

Das Restaurant ist sehr schick eingerichtet (modern mit einzelnen Figuren, die zum Schlossambiente passen). Wir haben bisher nach einem Spaziergang durch den schönen Schlosspark immer ohne Reservierung einen tollen Tisch bekommen und sind freundlich und schnell bedient worden. Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft und die Karte sehr umfangreich. Der Kuchen ist ebenfalls super!
