Restaurant Wartesaal in Berlin

Das Essen ist hervorragend und die Kellner sind sehr nett und sprechen Englisch. Einziger Nachteil: Es liegt in der Nähe der S-Bahn und ist daher recht laut.

Enttäuschender Besuch trotz geringer Auslastung Trotz nur weniger anwesender Gäste mussten wir lange auf die Zuweisung eines Tisches warten. Der zugewiesene Tisch war verschmutzt und wurde erst nach Hinweis gereinigt. Auch auf Nachbartischen standen noch benutzte Teller und Gläser. Die Bestellung wurde verspätet aufgenommen, ebenso dauerte es lange, bis die Getränke serviert wurden. Das Essen kam anschließend in angemessener Zeit, jedoch war der Fisch im Inneren noch roh. Das Gericht wurde zwar anstandslos ersetzt, eine Entschuldigung seitens des Servicepersonals oder der Küche erfolgte jedoch nicht. Insgesamt hinterließ der Besuch den Eindruck mangelnder Organisation, Sauberkeit und Wertschätzung gegenüber den Gästen. Leider keine Erfahrung, die wir wiederholen möchten.

Menükarten wurden uns gar nicht erst gebracht. Wir haben dann über die Webseite geschaut was wir bestellen wollen und mussten dann einen Servicemitarbeiter suchen weil 20 min lang keiner raus kam. (Komplette terasse voll) Über 40 minuten auf 2 Getränke gewartet.. kein „tut uns leid“ oder ähnliches. In den Läden wo ich gearbeitet habe war es Vorschrift das kein Gast länger als 5 min wartet. Klar kann man das bei vollem Laden nicht immer gewährleisten aber 40 min für 2 nicht aufwendige Getränke.. auf nach frage wie lange das Essen denn dann noch brauchen würde weil wir neben an zum Theater mussten 19:30 Showbeginn. 18:20 kamen erst die Getränke wurde nur genervt reagiert. Keine Entschuldigung oder mal ein „ich frag die Küche mal“ wäre auch schon hilfreich gewesen.. Wir warten nun seit fast einer Stunde auf unser Essen. Weiß ich nicht obs ne schlecht geplante Schicht war oder es immer so chaotisch hier ist. Essen kam dann mit n bisschen nachdruck ca 60 min. Essen war gut, aber alleine wegen dem Serive würde ich nicht wieder kommen. Schade eigentlich.. :/

Fantastische Pizza und Penne. Toller Service und gar nicht so teuer.

Wir waren gestern im Wartesaal und haben hier zu Abend gegessen. Wir hatten Pizza und Nudeln, es war super lecker. Davor gab es ein Brotkorb auf kosten des Hauses und das Brot war einfach der Hammer...💪 Das essen war Ruck Zuck am Tisch. Und das Personal war super, freundlich und schnell. Weiter so liebes Wartesaal Team. Wir kommen wieder ✌️

War alles Klasse, Personal war freundlich. Es gab ein kleines Missgeschick bei der Bestellung, dies wurde umgehend korrigiert und der Chef kam selber vorbei um sich zu entschuldigen.

Alles super. Ein Traum. Der Business-Lunch für 11€ inkl. einem kleinen Getränk ist super! Business-Lunch gibt es hier ausgewählte Pizzen, Pasta oder Salate sowie Lasagne. Also auch sehr abwechslungsreiches Angebot zum Mittag. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Essen und Personal waren gut. Meine Frau hatte ihr Handy vergessen, und man hat uns in der Straße gefunden, um es ihr zurückzugeben. Vielen Dank!

Dank Reservierung haben wir mit Sicherheit einen Platz bekommen. Das Personal war sehr aufmerksam. Unser Essen haben wir sehr schnell erhalten und lecker war es auch. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Ein ordentliches Restaurant – das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist fast schon gut. Ich würde es nicht unbedingt empfehlen, wenn man Zeit oder Lust hat, etwas Schöneres zu suchen, aber für Familien oder größere Gruppen ist es definitiv eine gute Wahl.

Ich war nicht fit und wollte eine Suppe essen. Das habe ich gleich gesagt und wurde total gut versorgt. Suppe lecker, Brot lecker , Bedienung perfekt und Ambiente und Lage wunderbar. Wenn ich fit bin komme ich wieder. Vielen Dank!

Immer wenn wir in Berlin sind, gehört für uns ein Besuch im Wartesaal dazu. Wir hatten reserviert und bekamen einen sehr gemütlichen Tisch. Die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich und das Essen kam relativ schnell. Die Quantität und Qualität war ausgezeichnet und wir werden auf jeden Fall auch wieder kommen.

Gutes Essen, schöner Ort, viele Leute warten an diesen Tagen auf einen Tisch zur Ausstellung, wenn Sie vor 19.30 Uhr kommen, ist das kein Problem.

Ich war in diesem Restaurant, wir haben Suppe und Pasta gegessen, es war sehr lecker und der Service war auch gut. Insgesamt ein perfekter Ort für Mittag- und Abendessen.

Das Essen ist hier grandios. Holzkohlengrill und beste Pizza, aber Geheimtipp: schwarze Selbstgemachte Nudeln mit Scampi! Bedienung mitunter etwas ruppig und überlastet, aber man sollte reservieren, sonst wartet man lange am Eingang.

Wir haben nach dem Musical im Theater des Westens nebenan noch einen Platz bekommen, auch ohne Bestellung, Glück gehabt. Das Essen war sehr und die Bedienung meistens aufmerksam. Das Ambiente wie der Name: Wartesaal eben, aber in Ordnung. Das Restaurant kann man gut weiterempfehlen.

Einfach und toll! Schneller Service, lecker Essen und den Schnaps aufs Haus gab es auch noch! Was will man mehr?! Beste Empfehlung!

We had to wait quite a while for the menu. No waiter seemed to care. Finally, we were out of drinks, and no waiter came to us even though the restaurant was empty. What a shame.

We had reserved in advance and were given a small, dirty table, even though there were plenty of other tables available. We were served quickly and no one asked us anything further.

The food was great! Unfortunately, the olives still had pits in them, and after we received our food, no one came back to our table to ask if we wanted anything else. We would still love to come back though :)

The food was absolutely delicious and the price was reasonable. However, the service was less than ideal. The staff didn't know which dishes to bring to the table, and then there was a mistake in our order, for which the waiter denied all responsibility. We would have liked to order a second drink, but no one came to take our order, so we decided to leave immediately after eating.

The waiting room is on the lower level of the parking garage. The noise level certainly lives up to its name. It's very loud, making conversation quite difficult. The prices are quite high, but the food is really delicious. Even though it was very crowded during our visit, the staff were very attentive and efficient.

Well, what can you say about this gem in Berlin? I can only praise the staff, the ambiance, and the food. During our stay in Berlin, we were lucky enough to be guests twice and had truly delicious meals, enjoying the beautiful location and atmosphere. If you're in the area, feel free to stop by Wartesaal for a wonderful night out and delicious food. Five stars? Absolutely, and well-deserved. I recommend making a reservation because you won't want to miss this Berlin experience.

Good food and a nice atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had a party of three and everyone enjoyed their meal including steak, veal and pasta dishes. The wine list was not large but adequate and reasonably priced. Suggest you make a reservation as we did not and had to wait for 20 minutes to be seated.

A very delicious Italian restaurant. The service was perfect. Vitello with fresh bread and pizza with salmon... highly recommended. We'll gladly come back on our next trip to Berlin.

Delicious pizza 🍕 and a great atmosphere

The food was mediocre at best. The gnocchi were filled with truffle, but you couldn't taste it at all. The mozzarella strips in the tomato sauce were still cold. The service was okay at first, but after the meal, we were forgotten. Plates weren't cleared for ages, no one asked if we needed anything else, and no one came to take our payment, even though we had asked two waiters. Meanwhile, the tables next to us were being reset at leisure, even though no new guests were in sight. We ended up going to the till to pay; otherwise, we probably would have been waiting forever. The name of the establishment is clearly a reflection of its service.

I don't know what was going on today, but all in all, I was quite surprised by the service. The pizza was forgotten, and the drink order was inaccurate and taken too late. Sure, we ended up with a good pizza, but the antipasti speciale was only mediocre. What I'm trying to say is: for the prices and the location, I simply expect more.

We were here Sunday evening after seeing a musical. It was very crowded at first, but ordering was quick. Our drinks and food also arrived quickly. We got fresh bread for starters on the house. However, there was no dip or anything similar. Unfortunately, the quality of the food didn't match the price, although the pizzas were still quite good. The portions of gnocchi and pasta were definitely too small. After that, no one seemed interested in us. Even though the restaurant was almost empty, they didn't clear our dishes or ask if we wanted anything else. So we ordered the bill. However, the waiter preferred to set up other tables rather than come over to us. After 15 minutes, we asked for a second waiter. He disappeared afterward, so after waiting for over half an hour, we paid at the cash register. Overall, I have to say, the noise level is quite high, and it's not particularly comfortable here. Since we only had three cushions for four people, we asked for a fourth. Eventually, a broken one arrived. Unfortunately, our table hadn't been wiped down after the previous guests, and there were sticky stains from the drinks that were impossible to miss.

A truly beautiful restaurant with a fantastic atmosphere – elegant yet cozy. The service was incredibly fast, and our food was on the table in record time. The rump steak was tender as butter and perfectly cooked, accompanied by aromatic side dishes and a dessert to die for. The taste, service, and ambiance simply blend together here – perfect for a relaxing evening after the theater or simply to enjoy.

Visited three times during IFA. Under pressure and sometimes spontaneously, but always friendly and helpful! The service, especially from Mr. Vila, was outstanding! The tram outside is quite loud, but that's also typical for downtown Berlin... ultimately, not a deciding factor! This is now my regular restaurant in Berlin!

Arrived shortly before 3 p.m., 8 people, we were more than pleasantly surprised by the daily specials at €11.50, with a choice, bread, parmesan and other items included in the price!!! And the quality of the products, the service, the decor, the kindness of the waiters, a must-see place if you are passing through the neighborhood, you can go there with your eyes closed 👍we will come back to taste the products on the menu, great experience!!!

We were disappointed. The pizza wasn't great, the dough tasted like nothing. The salmon was okay but nothing more, and the side dishes were very meager (3 half potatoes, 2 broccoli florets, 2 small roots). We won't be going back.

We stopped here for a bite to eat and a mocktail before attending a performance at the Theater des Westens. The mocktail was great. The appetizer platter for two, however, was disappointing 🙁. The service seemed a bit stressed and a bit overwhelmed. Bottom line... drinks were great, service and food could be improved.

On a Tuesday, we had to wait 10 minutes to be assigned a table. After the menu still wasn't there after 20 minutes, we left. The name "waiting room" is absolutely deserved.

Delicious food, more Italian-inspired. Unless you're dining alone, you'll be forced to pause every two minutes while sitting outside because the S-Bahn is running five meters above you. But otherwise, really nice. The staff are also very accommodating.

The waiting room at Kantstraße 10 offers a varied menu with pasta, pizzas, and meat dishes cooked over an open beechwood grill. While the ambiance is promising, the quality of the food is inconsistent. My first visit left an excellent impression – the truffle pasta was excellent, well-balanced in flavor, and of high quality. However, the second visit was a marked drop in the water: The spaghetti aglio e olio with prawns unfortunately offered more "olio" than "aglio" and lacked the desired seasoning. Furthermore, the second visit only served paper napkins. The name "waiting room" may be a play on words, but it's less apt for the long wait times than for the noise. The noise level is considerable, as both local and international guests frequent the restaurant. Those expecting a quiet atmosphere may be disappointed. Only when you hear the S-Bahn outside at the nearby Zoologischer Garten station with its distinctive screech does a distant feeling of "waiting room" arise. The service is friendly, but due to the general shortage of staff, requests are rarely made. So don't necessarily expect quick attention. The waiting room is worth a visit, as long as you're not put off by the high prices for simple pasta dishes, the inconsistent quality, and the noisy atmosphere. With luck, you'll catch a day when the kitchen is at its full potential.

We dined twice, both times outside. At 6:00 p.m., it was still quite noisy outside due to the railway line. At 10:00 p.m., it was fine. It was still cozy, though. The food came very quickly. It tasted good (pizza, cocktail). The prices were reasonable for the Ku'damm. The walk to the Theater des Westens was sensationally short.

The lasagna was a bit small, and there wasn't much sauce between the noodles. The rest was very tasty.

Alright, so I finally made it to Restaurant Wartesaal, and it's a pretty sharp Italian place, definitely earning a 4/5 from me. The pizzas were perfection, with crusts that truly hit the mark. Then there was the carbonara, which, rather surprisingly, featured boiled ham. Not quite the classic symphony I'd anticipated, but it held its own. The penne el Forno, though, was great. My only issue, and it was minor, involved a server who seemed to have less patience for the little kids than I have for dial-up internet. Not my kids, but other people's toddlers. It did affect the atmosphere a bit. Despite that, I'd still go back to eat there again.

The food was a feast for the eyes and the palate - really delicious, well presented and quickly on the plate - I'd gladly return!

A perfect blend of casual and upscale. I had the shrimp risotto and it was creamy, perfectly seasoned, and full of tender shrimp. The staff gave great wine pairing suggestions and made the whole evening feel easy and enjoyable. Ideal spot for a quiet dinner.

Super Service, sehr gutes Essen, sauber und sehr nettes italienisches Flair. Zwischen klassisch italienisch bis modern is alles dabei, nicht nur in der Einrichtung - auch in der Speisekarte. Auf den Bildern: Nudelvariation für 2 Personen für 27€, ein kleiner gemischter Salat und eine Käseplatte.

It was delicious. I was a bit skeptical at first because of the high prices, but they were worth it. I had an Angus burger with fries and they tasted great, especially the fries. They were almost as good as McDonald's, but only almost! The train was a bit of a nuisance, but apart from that everything was great and the service was very quick!

We were quite a large group of students from Sweden who booked a few tables just the night before and everything was amazing! The good was great, atmosphere just straight cozy and not to mention the fun and extraordinary service, from all the waiters, on in particular was name Milo ig my memory serves me right! Good location next to the Theater des Westens. The food is good and the prices are right. We were there for the second time before going to the theater. The restaurant is very well attended.

Food was delicious. You can easily go there before a musical, but it's best to go a little earlier. The service was okay. Because we were sitting pretty far back, they almost forgot about us. But the atmosphere was nice.

We wanted to go out for dinner before the musical and found the perfect location here. Considering the place was full, we got our food and drinks very quickly. We would have thought it would take longer. Kudos to the kitchen for the great pizza and pasta. Anyone going to the Theater des Westens should definitely stop here beforehand. 10/10 for me and my companions!

Super friendly service: We wanted to go to the theater, had already ordered and then realized that there was far too little time to eat. We were able to cancel and then enjoy very good pizza and pasta in a very relaxed and quiet atmosphere.
