Here you'll find a culinary revelation of Italian cuisine. The menu is clear and affordable. The pasta and pizza are beautifully presented and absolutely delicious. Number 53 is my personal favorite.

The food was good, but the service was poor to the point of being unfriendly. We waited ages for our food and then only received half of what we ordered. I wouldn't recommend it. Furthermore, you can smell it outside, and inside it's almost unbearable.

Great location on the Kinzigsee the cake counter is absolutely amazing

We stopped in here spontaneously. The outdoor seating is very nice, and we enjoyed our food selection, but unfortunately, we got the least ambitious waiter: an old man with white hair. His indifference was palpable from the moment we ordered and continued unabated... probably because we simply wanted to eat, in this case, "just pizzas" and a drink, no fuss before or after... so we weren't asked whether we enjoyed our meal either during or after... completely taciturn... which was quite different from the young waiters around us. If you don't feel like working in service, then just don't do it! We didn't feel comfortable at all and won't be coming back for pizza, or anything else ;-). Others are happy with guests who pay in cash, too.

We've been coming to Lake Kinzig regularly for about 30 years to swim and, as the crowning finale, to eat at the Aurora. We did the same thing about four weeks ago. As always, we ordered the large shrimp pizza, which was always the best in the region. Only not this time. They use tarte flambée dough!!! Unbelievable taste and you won't get full from it. When we complained, the waiter told us that all the guests like it that way! Well, good luck then, we won't go there again, which is a shame! The nice kiosk in the middle wasn't open either, even though we were there on the weekend. It was always ideal for a quick drink.

The atmosphere is very nice, especially outside on the terrace. The pizza there is amazing. I haven't had such a good pizza in a long time.

The wait staff are quite unfriendly and not at all customer-oriented. They do their job indifferently, and you don't feel particularly welcome. The food is mediocre, so I don't know why I would come back. Nobody even asks if you'd like another drink, or maybe a coffee or dessert. The only bonus point this restaurant has is the beautiful lake view. It's a real shame. There was a time when this was a really good place in Selbold.

The waiters and waitresses are very attentive, friendly, and accommodating 👍🏻 The food is really good and prepared with fresh ingredients. Unfortunately, they only accept cash payments, which shouldn't be the case these days, hence the star deduction (also because you only get a sign at the entrance to inform you about it when you arrive, rather than mentioning it when you make your reservation over the phone).

The ambiance and service were both top-notch! The food, unfortunately, is just average. What bothered me most was the pre-made salad mix, which sometimes had brown lettuce leaves. The house dressing, on the other hand, was really good. I think they're cutting corners here. The pizza was also okay. Nothing special. The restaurant benefits from its beautiful location directly on Lake Kinzig. There's ample parking. No card payments accepted. I wouldn't eat there again.

Unfortunately, the beautiful surroundings and the good food can't make up for the absolutely terrible service. Here, you're either a regular or speak Italian; otherwise, you're just a nuisance. Never again!

New young waiter poorly trained. Although we always tipped 10-20%, there was no farewell drink. That was always part of the feel-good factor. Conclusion: No more tips in the future. What a pity.

The tortelloni portion consisted of only 5 tortellini... the price was way too high for that. Pizza tastes like it came frozen at Rewe... probably better to go to a different restaurant next time...

The atmosphere by the lake is simply wonderful, the waiters are all very attentive, as is the chef, Franco. The pizza here is incredibly delicious; I've never had a better one! The salad and pasta are also highly recommended. We love coming here.

We were invited to a party on the terrace, which had a lovely ambiance, shade, and yet still be outside. Southern flair and plenty of space. Still a cozy atmosphere.

Nice restaurant. A great place to stop after a visit to the pool, but also as a day trip with hiking options. The food is good, especially the pinsa dishes. Fish is also offered in several varieties. We'd be happy to return.

Staff unfriendly, food is Aldi frozen

Last week I had the misfortune of eating dinner there with my family. My meal was very unappetizing. Frozen fries with a cutlet that was also frozen. We waited 10 minutes for ketchup, 15 minutes for drinks. A lot of staff who are rushing around and don't know what they are doing. I don't want to know what happens when there are more guests, because when we were there it was empty. The quality is a tragedy. Frozen food in the restaurant is shocking to me. The bill for 3 people was 90 euros.

We used to enjoy coming here. Now, for us, it's just a sentimental trip back to the restaurant's former glory days. The food is mediocre and the service is uninspired. You're ignored and have to make yourself known several times if you want something. The highlight here is the view of Lake Kinzig.

We were there last week, the service was absolutely terrible, the menu was completely reduced. After asking, we were offered lamb chops, but they served them with fries. Asking for mayonnaise, we had to get it ourselves at the counter because none was brought. Before that, we waited over 30 minutes for a small beer, with 8 waiters in front of and behind the counter, and they couldn't get anything done! The food wasn't recommended either, the price-performance ratio was 🤮. Changed from a good restaurant to a station kiosk. Sorry guys, but I'm never going there again. The price-performance ratio is completely wrong, it used to be different. I had to give it one star so I could write a review. Unfortunately.

Hello, unfortunately it's crazy, a little more going on and they can't manage it. Been waiting for 1:45 hours and still no food. After an hour of waiting, the waiter said 15 minutes and it would take another 45 minutes until it was there. Boss was already at the table and apologized. Even his employee said that this wasn't a problem and that's just how it is. Food came, cutlery wasn't there. This then took some time and had to be requested separately. Then dirty cutlery. Then you had to get the parmesan yourself. Oh yeah, something like that shouldn't happen. And be careful, the waiter takes wrong orders. Small drinks are brought large ones etc. I asked him about it and he was insulted. So today was my last visit here. I always tip, but today I'm tipped to the penny and check the bill. So and the food why we were here, well it wasn't convincing either.

We have been guests at this location for around 20 years now and have always been very satisfied with the food and service. Unfortunately the service has deteriorated extremely, today there are 5 people in service, incompetent, systemless and absolutely unqualified, except for Fellmann from Eritria, but he can't do it alone. All other conditions are unoriented, sometimes without meaning for their existence. After today's chaos, we decided to avoid the restaurant until further notice, although we were always happy with the food. If the turnover from passing customers is sufficient, that's ok, but regular customers keep a restaurant running.

It was a new attempt after last year's disappointment. A friend really wanted to go there. We were six women, sitting on the terrace. The ambience benefits from the lake view. Food was very good, no complaints whatsoever. Service was very friendly at the beginning and joked with us. And then it flipped. So unfriendly. Were summoned inside to pay with a card. Those who wanted to pay in cash were now forced to pay by card. He didn't want to include tips. Everything took too long for him. Unlucky. He didn't get one. I have never been treated so arrogantly and condescendingly before. I don't voluntarily enter this restaurant anymore. You won't experience that next door in the "Caruso".

Because everything is still a bit bare, it didn't look very appealing. Definitely great in summer. Coffee and cappuccino were great, cake was too big and too powerful for one person. Otherwise a great experience.

Today in the beautiful April weather we sat on the really cozy terrace with a view of the lake. But that's also the best thing We had scaloppina al vino bianco, pizza and salad. Pizza, well, salad with house dressing in a small bowl not really tasty and the scaloppina was light, barely fried, colorless meat with tasteless sauce.... Simply disappointing!!! The terrace beckons in summer, but not for us anymore.

We were here twice over the long weekend. Very nice service every time, pizza was very well topped (even with expensive salmon) and the lasagna was really great. And the €2 extra charge for the large pizza is really great. Price performance really good. Unfortunately very rare these days. Great atmosphere, would be happy to come back any time!

We got engaged here exactly 21 years ago and were very excited. Today we were finally here again and at least as excited! The food was extremely good, the service was discreet but still approachable and the ambience was romantic and elegant. There is even a dedicated grappa menu with fine wines. The prices are humane and are really worth it. Even the toilets are very clean and elegantly furnished. Thank you for a great meal! We'll definitely be back - and not in 21 years!

We let ourselves be pampered again and enjoyed the delicious food and the beautiful decor. However, I was disappointed because according to the menu: fries made from fresh potatoes, but the fries reminded me a lot of McDonald's. But the service was great, a man/woman can't have everything 😉

A pretty good restaurant with a nice view of Lake Kinzigsee. The interior is special and the food is good. The children can also go to the playground at Kinzigsee while they eat. The service is also great. By the way, I recommend a place outside.

One of the worst pizzas I've ever eaten in terms of craftsmanship and taste. I don't understand how other people can give the food a good rating here. But of course it's all a matter of taste. We were able to order quickly, but the service staff almost had to pay for it. My conclusion: The ambience is good but eating here... Nope, never again.

Beautiful location with a view of the adjacent seaside resort with sunbathing lawn from the large terrace. The food was more or less standard and nothing special. The selection is quite large and varied. However, service left something to be desired during our visit on an early Saturday evening. It was almost impossible to make eye contact with the waiters in order to order something. You always had to actively speak to someone when walking past. With more attentive staff, the restaurant could leave a much better impression.

Unmotivated waiters, dirty tablecloths, sticky, oily menage (vinegar oil salt pepper). As a guest you don't feel welcome there. The salad with salmon is a disgrace. For €14.50 a bit of iceberg lettuce, three slices of cucumber, two wedges of tomato, a quarter of an onion, a few crumbs of fried salmon. The pizza bread we ordered was delicious, but there was no chance of getting full and happy. When the criticism is addressed, the waiter mumbles something incomprehensible into his beard. Disappointing!!!

Been here regularly for more than three years now and always more than satisfied! Villa Aurora is a beautiful setting with a great view of Lake Kinzigsee. The food tastes very tasty and is always beautifully presented. The waitresses are always in a good mood and laugh a lot. Now we're on a first-name basis with everyone and it's just a nice tradition to eat here. I can only recommend this restaurant! Everything tastes delicious here, whether classic Italian cuisine or German specialties such as schnitzels and salads. The selection is large and the prices are very fair. The portions leave you full and happy. In addition, waiting times are short here, the service is quick and you wait a maximum of 15 to 20 minutes with 4 people for the food. A big compliment to the Jägerschnitzel and the big guy! + a tiramisu 😁 Keep it up!!!

Very nice location right on Lake Kinzig, with a view of the lake from the terrace. Unfortunately the restaurant is past its best. Service wasn't very friendly, except for one waiter, they didn't have a smile on their faces. Food was okay, but nothing special. It's nice because of the terrace and the view.

I was there today with my granddaughter, the problem for a waitress was that there was nothing free outside with a view of the lake, which is why we Yemen, a waitress said there were free tables we could sit down, so we did, then another waitress came and said this table was reserved even though it wasn't marked and there were other free tables available, something like that hasn't happened to me yet. I told the friendly waitress who had assigned us the place that he would like to tell the manager of the restaurant that we would like to go to this restaurant never enter again and something like that is not possible at all, that was a flop that has never happened to me before, I will advise friends and business partners not to enter this restaurant!!

The food used to be much better here. We drove an extra 40km to eat here again and were disappointed! The chicken and melon salad with balsamic dressing only had a little oil on it. The chicken pieces, like the entire salad, were completely unseasoned. The sea bream fillet tasted ok, but had a lot of bones for a fillet. The vegetables that came with it were completely overcooked. Only the pasta in tomato-salmon sauce tasted good (but it's not on the menu)

The location and ambience are first class! The decoration is a bit kitschy, but still tasteful. Just really southern ;-) Unfortunately, the culinary level of the restaurant cannot keep up with the furnishings. Although the menu conveys a hint of upscale Italian cuisine, overall the dishes are prepared quite unimaginatively and are therefore presented in a boring manner. The Scaloppina al vino bianco, for example, was served with fries. This has never happened to me in Italy. Here, for example, rosemary potatoes and some vegetables tossed in butter would have been more appropriate. The Panna Cotta was quite large for a dessert, but it was simply slapped onto the plate in a completely unimaginative way. A bit of berries and a bit of mint, for example, would have added a bit of pizzazz. With our companion, a green caterpillar suddenly sat up vertically in the side salad and said hello ;-)) Well, that can happen, but the offer to bring a new salad didn't happen, as did the offer of a digestive on the house, even though we There was a group of 10 people and the bill was decent. To top off the evening, my bill included food and drinks that I neither ordered nor consumed because I was the last person in the group to pay my bill. Something like this shouldn't normally happen!! So the bottom line is a mediocre to disappointing experience that I personally will definitely not repeat there. Clearly not a recommendation from me!!

It's not that easy for me to evaluate this, so I'll try to go into a little more detail. The terrace and lake atmosphere are great, even if one or two brush strokes could be done here again. Nevertheless, you sit very nicely with an appropriate view. Our pizzas were very good, the dough was nice and crispy, but I lacked the spiciness for a Diavola. But I was given an appropriate choice of seasoning so that the pizza was just right. Apart from that, the service was unfortunately neither courteous nor very fast. We would have ordered a lot more if someone had asked if we wanted something more to drink. The young blonde lady in particular seemed very uninterested in her work, which is a shame because with the ambience and the kitchen, Villa Aurora has much more potential.

Die Inneneinrichtung stammt aus den 80er Jahren, dorische Säulen und Deckengemälde runden das kitschige Gesamtbild ab. Die Speisekarte ist in Plastikhüllen und klebt vor Dreck. Die Gerichte sind durchweg 08/15, eine Tageskarte gibt es nicht, auffällig: diverse Schnitzel, einschließlich Jägerschnitzel. Eine Weinkarte gibt es nicht, es gibt jeweils drei offene Weine ohne Namen. Ich hatte Vitello Tonnato, zundertrockenes Kalbfleisch und eine sehr flüssige, aber essbare Thunfischsoße. Kein Highlight. Tagliatelle Salmone: Die Nudeln waren matschig und innerhalb von Minuten hatte man einen klebrigen Klumpen auf dem kitschigen Teller mit peinlichen, bunten Motiven. Die Villa soll am Kinzig See liegen, allerdings blickt man auf eine turbulente Liegewiese eines Freibades. In 300 Meter Entfernung kann man den See erkennen, tolle Lage. Die Atmosphäre ähnelte einer Bahnhofshalle, allerdings mit einer Menge penetranter Fliegen. Ich brauchte auch nur 15 Minuten warten, um zu bestellen, und nur 20 Minuten, um zu bezahlen. Nie wieder!

This is the go-to restaurant in our small town. It's near a lake, with the expected views. Our daughter loves that she can play by the lake, run around on the large patio and play in the local playground. The food is exceptional! The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and nice. The prices are acceptable for the quality and taste offered.

Seldom eaten so badly. Pizza and lasagna were subpar. Pizza was absolutely tasteless, was so thin you could read a newspaper through it and was dripping with oil. For the lasagna... I'm at a loss for words. But the beer and salad tasted good.

In May 2024 we celebrated our wedding here with around 35 guests. The restaurant offers a lot of space and a very nice ambience. The staff and the boss are very polite and extremely friendly. We had the opportunity to celebrate in the restaurant and still be able to use the spacious and beautiful terrace. The food was very good and although we had several dishes on our wedding menu, the food was served warm and beautifully presented to all guests at the same time. The tables were very festively set and decorated. All drinks were nice and cold or hot. There is a playground for the little ones right in front of the terrace and the view of the lake gave our celebration another special feature. There are plenty of free parking spaces right in front of the restaurant. We thought it was great and were very satisfied and recommend it without reservation. Many thanks to the entire Villa Aurora team.

Die Villa Aurora ist ein gutes italienisches Restaurant. Die Pizzen sind geschmacklich wirklich sehr gut. Leider sind die Salate weniger gut. Ein leckere Vinaigrette wäre toll. Leider muss man sich den Salat immer selbst anmachen, wenn man das Hausdressig nicht mag. Der Service und das Ambiente sind top!

We waited a little bit because the place was full and they had a lot to do. But you can't complain about the food. I had seafood spaghetti and my husband had a salmon pizza. Both were really delicious.
