Friendly service, great food, fantastic location

No matter what we've ordered so far, it's always been delicious. We even come here several times a month because the food is truly excellent. However, there is one point I must criticize: The menu doesn't mention anywhere that, for example, fries and other fried dishes like pork are prepared in the same fryer. This information is particularly important for guests of the Muslim or Jewish faith. It would therefore be helpful if customers were explicitly informed of this when ordering fried dishes that don't contain pork.

This restaurant has been around for as long as I can remember. We used to eat here with our parents. The best thing about it is definitely the location in the woods and the observation tower right next to the restaurant. It's clean and nicely decorated. The service is always friendly and they're accommodating to individual requests. The food arrives quickly; I can't remember us ever having to wait long. What's unfortunately noticeable is the declining quality of the food while the prices keep rising. The portions are getting smaller and the prices keep increasing. On my Gambaretti pizza, all the small shrimp were still deveined. Obviously, they're safe to eat because they're cooked, but for a small €15 pizza, they should make sure the shrimp are deveined in the future. It's simply more appealing, both visually and in terms of taste. Otherwise, they have a wide selection of dishes.

A nice Italian-style restaurant in itself. Personally, I can't recommend the pizza. The dough seems to be frozen, lacking in flavor and aroma. The topping was also "acceptable." I had a pizza with pepperoni mushrooms, but the flavor wasn't really there.

Good food, good value for money. With a large playground, it's ideal for summer with children.

The seating is nice. The food is far too expensive; we had a large salami pizza for €22. Drinks are standard. Please note: no card payments accepted. There's a large children's playground nearby.

This was my fourth time at this restaurant, and I didn't always enjoy the food. My partner ordered fish and potatoes. Unfortunately, he only got a tiny piece of fillet and three potato halves, for which he had to pay over €30. The price didn't reflect the portion.

Individual order requests were not accommodated: - Sparkling water was served instead of medium water. - A creamed schnitzel with mushrooms in the sauce was requested, but instead a separate mushroom sauce was served. - Ketchup was ordered but not brought. After I complained, the plate was simply taken away from me in a visibly bad mood – even though I explicitly stated that I didn't want a new one. I'm stunned. Unfortunately, that doesn't make you feel at all comfortable as a guest.

It's a lovely place to sit and have a drink or a bite to eat, and I think the food is delicious 😋 The tiramisu is also fantastic 😍 Friendly service, and they always try to find a seat even if you don't have a reservation! 🙏🌞

Located on the Buchberg, this restaurant is wonderfully situated. There's plenty of seating, as it's more of a day-trip destination. There are definitely not enough parking spaces for the number of seats. The food is delicious, and the staff is consistently friendly. The prices are reasonable considering the setting and location.

The location, complete with a playground, is unbeatable, especially with children. The food has been delicious so far, and the service is very good and friendly. One point deducted because payment is only accepted in cash.

Solides italian restaurant. Food is nothing special, but ok. Price are in my eyes a bit to high, seen for 2 people who have 1 starter to share, a lasagne and a schnitzel as a main plus 1 rose, 1 beer from the tap and a large bottle of sparkling water sums up to 70€. - Also very negative point that they don't accept any card payments, which I think is weird in our days as almost everyone uses Apple or Google pay. But well I guess they have their reasons to do so...

At the top of Buchberg, nestled in the forest. Playground for children within sight. Free parking in front of the building. Covered outdoor area. The food arrived promptly, without long waits, and was delicious. The staff was very friendly and helpful in taking family photos. There are several nearby hiking trails that are ideal for walks. These are also suitable for cycling.

We (there were four of us) really enjoyed it, very friendly, the food was very good and we sat outside, wonderful 😀

Overall, I think the restaurant is really good and I've eaten there several times because the food is simply delicious, but what I don't like so much are the high prices for the alcoholic drinks, Aperol, and the desserts, which are a bit too little and too simple for my liking. Inside, I think the atmosphere is okay but not nice because it could be brighter for my taste and the interior could perhaps be decorated a bit more colorfully.

Super delicious pork loin in pepper sauce. Salty, but just my thing. Perfect weather for sitting outside. Friendly staff, and the Licher beer is good, too. Highly recommended! Unfortunately, no card payments, but no big deal.

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE, NOT GOOD FOR THAT! Visit (first and last): May 9, 2025, lunchtime - 8 people (4 adults + 4 children) - Seat in the beer garden. Regarding our order (2 adults + 2 children): First of all, the only thing that was OK was the Super Mix pizza, which, like everything else, was very/somewhat outrageously expensive for its stated size of 26 cm. It wasn't until we got home that we noticed that we had paid €14.50 for the Super Mix, but at the same time the website said €13.50! The drinks and appetizers arrived quickly. The main courses came in different batches, and it was admitted that one item had been forgotten. By the time the pizza finally arrived, our friend's relatively small but expensive Trio di Pasta (€18.90) was already gone. Two pasta dishes were ordered as children's portions, but were supposed to be billed as regular portions, which ultimately didn't happen (therefore missing from the bill; they were billed separately – €8 each). The schnitzel parmigiana was by far the worst dish, drenched in sauce and topped with unconvincing cheese. The real shock, however, was the extra €3.50 for changing the menu to spaghetti instead of fries. This is also noted on the menu, but only for the pork loin and steaks, not for the schnitzel and poultry dishes! The staff is sometimes difficult to understand; some are friendly, others relatively unsympathetic. Not recommended for dining, except for an (expensive) drink while strolling or climbing the observation tower.

Very, very delicious food. It's gotten a bit more expensive over the years, but it's definitely worth it! Sitting outside in the summer is beautiful and the ambiance is great. The interior could perhaps be renovated a bit for a more cozy atmosphere, but it's still very nice! It's great to take a walk before eating. The service is very, very friendly and attentive.

The size and quantity of the dishes have noticeably decreased, but the prices have increased. Six months ago, we used to get a free digestif with payment. Unfortunately, that was missing last time. What a pity!

The highlight was climbing the 114 steps up the 30-meter-high tower. You're rewarded with a wonderful view, including the Frankfurt skyline. Excellent service, a spacious dining room, a rich menu, and stylish Italian paintings on the walls.

The smallest pizza ever, it looks and tastes like a frozen pizza. The waiters don't speak German and don't know anything about the menu.

The ambiance (outside) is nice, especially in the evenings in summer. We had four pizzas, which tasted good but were overpriced (€13.50 each) for a pizza measuring only 26cm. A glass of Primitivo (0.25l) for €9.50 is also not bad. At the end, without prior notice, only cash payments are accepted, even though everything in the restaurant is handled digitally, from ordering to billing. They urgently need to switch to card payments as well as cash. All in all, the visit was OK, but many others can be OK too. There is definitely room for improvement.

I like the Buchberg grill. The food has always been very good, whether pizza, schnitzel or salad. The staff is very friendly and children are very welcome. The ambience suffers a bit due to the size, but that's a complaint on a high level. A very clear recommendation from me to visit.

Pleasant atmosphere and fast service. The restaurant offers a good selection of food and drinks at fair prices. Particularly recommended for families - thanks to the adjacent playground, the little ones will also get their money's worth. For those with a head for heights, it is also worth visiting the Buchberg Tower, which is over 100 years old and offers a wonderful view at a height of 30 meters. One clear drawback: only cash payments are accepted and a receipt is only available upon request. Unfortunately, this is only communicated by a small sign inside - we only noticed it when it came to paying. Luckily, I happened to have enough cash in my pocket.

This restaurant is really super nice and very clean, and the staff is very friendly and the food is very good. I really like going there, I feel very comfortable there, I can recommend it.

And whether :-) The service was very attentive, prompt and very friendly, the food and drinks were impeccable and of high quality. All in all we felt very comfortable!!!! If you would like to take a few steps after eating, you will also find one or two hiking trails with different distances. Children will find an inviting playground behind the restaurant that is very well maintained and offers many opportunities for children big and small. It was definitely not our last visit here 😀

I don't know what to think about having a website with such a great presentation and then having it as a map. Such a strange delivery service note. Food was good, only one waitress, a woman, left the boss hanging, which was unnecessary. The boss also regulated it. Still worth mentioning. Spice up the card then it gets 5 stars. Recommended!

Very nice place in the bid. Really tasty and cozy and friendly service. Quite childish: they have a children's menu (small schnitzel) and we wanted that for our almost 90 year old mother. They wanted to do that. But we charged the full price. Therefore 1 star less. It is also on the menu. That this only applies up to the age of 12. But that's why we specifically asked for it.

The location is of course unique: in the middle of the forest, a lookout tower in front of the gates to the restaurant. There are a large number of free parking spaces available. If you don't mind the altitude, you can also set off on foot from Langenselbold train station. Italian cuisine is offered and what we have ordered so far has always been tasty. The service is sometimes attentive, but sometimes you are forgotten at some point. The price level is rather high. What's anachronistic: Cash only. In times of SumUp etc, which also works with a mobile phone connection, there is only one reason for this, which I don't need to explain in more detail here...

Kellner unfreundlich. Essen bestellt und Getränke bestellt. Nach dem Essen sitzen wir ewig vor leeren Gläsern. Obwohl Lokal so gut wie leer, achtet niemand auf unsere Handzeichen. Einer von uns muss an den Tresen. Beim abräumen der leeren Teller ist der Kellner weiterhin stumm und unfreundlich. Wir zahlen, Zwei der Freunde halten das Trinkgeld gering. Jetzt kann der Kellner auch sprechen und fragt, ob diese Summe ernst gemeint sei. Bislang war Trinkgeld bzw. die Höhe für uns eine freiwillige Entscheidung. Der Kellner wird sehr unangenehm und wir freuen uns, das Restaurant verlassen zu können. Nebenbei: heutzutage nur bar bezahlen können, ist für uns noch ein zusätzliches no Go. Man fragt sich, was eigentlich dafür der Grund sein könnte. Danke, nie wieder hier her.

A place of well-being 🩶 Thanks to the service!

Service? NO! Eating as a small group in the restaurant inside. The slightly gray waiter (migrant background) certainly has no training in the field of gastronomy. Not a single friendly word when taking the order, no question when clearing away, the request to hand him the empty bread basket was done wordlessly with an impatient wave of the hand. One of us had to go through the empty one to order more drinks!! March locally and look for the staff. On the other hand, the subsequent tip from some of our group was less than from the other guest at the table. The very unfriendly waiter complained that the amount was too small for him (tips are still a voluntary service for satisfaction) and the subsequent free schnapps was only given to the guest with the better tip. Although we used to come here often, none of us will come here anymore.

The food is good but a bit overpriced for the quality. The interior is rather cool and not really comfortable, but in summer it is certainly more pleasant on the covered terrace. The biggest drawback is the not very motivated service. There is actually enough staff!

Were here for the first time, but definitely not the last time.

- No card payment possible - Guests are left sitting outside in the cold. No asking if you would like something more to drink, even though the glass has been empty on the table for 30 minutes. If you want to pay, you have to go in because no one outside is interested in the guests.

Update 2025: Unfortunately, a table reservation didn't work 6 times in a row. Most of the time we still got the table we wanted. But not twice either. Therefore 2 stars less for service. Very unfortunate. Is getting better and better. It has now been rebuilt and renovated again and adapted to current conditions. The food and service were impeccable again today.

Hello everyone out there, Mhhh what can I say, we/I was more than disappointed with the service throughout the evening. There were 7 people and the kitchen didn't manage to bring all the main courses at the same time. One meal was even completely forgotten, so when we were all finished eating, the 7th person got his meal. The restaurant wasn't very full, so it wasn't overwhelmed. The fact that you can no longer pay with a card in a restaurant is also so grossly inappropriate. Given the prices, you have to have a really big wallet with you. Then after the meal, various drinks orders were forgotten or only partially brought to the table. Then the fact that you pay the service staff the money in cash in the evening or count it is not a very great atmosphere. All in all, the conversations between friends were relaxed and relaxed, but the service was poor.

The Buchenberggrill restaurant is an absolute recommendation! From reception to service to check out, everything was very professional and humane! You really feel welcome as a guest! Unfortunately, you can't get that everywhere anymore these days. Our food was super tasty and really worth the money! The restaurant looks run of the mill on the outside (a new coat of paint and slightly more attractive advertising), but the interior of the restaurant is very nice! You know, an espresso on the house. But a Bailey's on the house for a woman is extremely rare! Wailing at a high level: There should be a small child corner for playing in the restaurant itself, or at least Marbacher with pens ... The little ones are offered a drawer full of lollown when leaving the restaurant. Price/performance for the middle class today is "slightly" higher, but reasonable when you take into account the quality of the well-prepared food. I would definitely recommend making a reservation in advance!!!

Fantastic insider tip. Great Italian restaurant, which is a bit remote but worth the journey. Food was really fantastic… you can tell the difference to other Italian restaurants. The ambience is pleasantly modern, designed for a larger number of guests, but it still doesn't feel like a canteen. In summer there will be a great beer garden, which will be a highlight due to its location in the forest. There is a playground nearby for children in summer. Hiking is also possible - for a digestive walk, so to speak ☺️.

Celebrated my mother's 83rd birthday today and had lunch in the restaurant. It was very tasty, with a very charming waiter (beautiful blue eyes too... kind regards!) My mother was even surprised with a cake❤ Thank you very much!

The food was delicious and arrived at the table in a timely manner, despite the full house. Particularly noteworthy are the perfectly made fries – simply crispy, just right. The vegetables in the pasta were also cooked to perfection. Despite the crowds, the service was friendly and attentive, which made the visit really pleasant. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. Reservations are definitely an advantage as the restaurant is busy. We'll definitely be happy to come back!"

It is and remains my absolute favorite restaurant. The food is fantastic and always comes super quickly, and the service is impeccable even on busy days. What strikes me again and again is how friendly it is to children and how the staff are always in a good mood. The remote, quiet location is also nice and I enjoyed playing in the tower as a child.

Caution! Only cash payment possible! It's TOTALLY ANNOYING when only cash is accepted in such a large and remote restaurant!!! This is really really bad customer service. Why? You can't quickly go to a nearby ATM if the bill can't be paid with a debit card. The service from the staff is attentive and friendly - I would have liked to give them a little more points. The location itself is also beautiful and very spacious. The cook - or the cook - certainly tried hard, but UNFORTUNATELY the FOOD was NOT AT ALL CONVINCING. Venison goulash can - and should - taste like game. Unfortunately none! What was really bad was the red cabbage, which really didn't taste like anything. How they managed to do this is a complete mystery to me! Really, the red cabbage was subterranean! Both then talked to me for the rest of the day (we had lunch) and - sorry - kept burping up on me. Demanding 25.- for this is by no means justified! Maybe I should have eaten pizza like my colleagues. Celebrating the event with them there was great cinema. But that was up to the colleagues. And not the food! Too bad.

Nice remote restaurant with even nicer service and delicious food. Well attended, reservations are recommended. Italian influenced, good pasta dishes and pizzas but you can (if you that would also like to eat a “Jägerschnitzel”, which in no way has to hide from those in German restaurants. Have been there twice and it won't be the last time.
