Great service even though the large beer garden was almost completely full.

Were yesterday with 4 people at the excursion restaurant “Buchberggrill” in Langenselbold, based on a recommendation. There was plenty of parking space despite the busy crowds. The large, covered beer garden had plenty of seating so we quickly found a place. We had a small dog with us, which was also welcome. The entire location is focused on Italian cuisine. The menu contained all Italian dishes. Starting from soups, through cold and warm starters, to pizza and pasta dishes and of course meat and fish dishes. The service was a solid 10 out of 10. Fast, friendly and accommodating. Thank you very much for this! During the entire stay you didn't even have the feeling that you weren't being looked after. We had schnitzel and pasta dishes. The portions were sufficient, the food was tasty and hot. Last but not least, the roof was opened so that you could experience the great experience of sitting in a beer garden in all its glory. Unfortunately, the great experience was spoiled because there was no option to pay for your food and drinks with a card. It simply cannot be the case that there is no option to pay by card in such large catering establishments. Nothing is displayed here on the homepage! This is only pointed out on a board in front of the entrance. Therefore 2 points for “ambience”!! That doesn't work at all!!

The food was very tasty, but the service was subpar: First of all, I was brought the wrong drink, which isn't a bad thing at all. BUT instead of a simple apology there was an annoyed eye roll and the drink I ordered was brought to me. There were various side dishes for the dish, but I wasn't asked which one I wanted. I was then asked if everything was correct (probably because of the drink), then the waiter looked at my friend, laughed and rolled his eyes - and not just once. Plus, I didn't see a single service person who didn't look annoyed - and you're supposed to feel comfortable there?! We won't be coming here anymore, I'd rather spend my money where I'm treated kindly.

The pizza was quite good, but it wasn't pizza from the Italian restaurant as we know it. Probably in a round baking tray. It tasted good, but I would rather order a steak, that looked better.

It's always worth coming back here. Delicious dishes, friendly service and the ambience is great too.

When I paid, I was surprised because absolutely no credit cards or even debit cards were accepted. How embarrassing, since I had to borrow cash from my guests. What I find particularly sneaky is that there is no such information to be found anywhere. It will be my last visit and I will also inform all my friends and acquaintances about this situation. Very nice atmosphere and wonderfully delicious Italian dishes. You can sit very comfortably both inside and outside and the service is top. The waiters are very helpful and attentive and the food tastes fantastic. We have eaten here several times with family and several friends and are thrilled every time.

We were hiking all day, eating delicious food to strengthen ourselves, perfect 👌🏼 Since we didn't go hiking with a lot of cash, we were unfortunately only able to pay in cash, which is why a star deduction! I can definitely not recommend the restaurant. I don't even know where the positive reviews come from, they were probably purchased. The service is fake with all service staff, friendly and not warm. The food is overpriced and of a mediocre standard. The pizza tasted like a frozen pizza, as did the schnitzel. The mushroom cream sauce tasted like it was prepackaged. The shandy consisted of 2/3 lemonade. After complaining, the service was unfriendly and unreasonable. The only nice thing about the restaurant is its location on the mountain.

You can make yourself comfortable in the beer garden, with good shade too! Service and operation are very good and friendly 😊. Food was also very tasty, prices were a bit too high, drinks!! OTHERWISE very nice ambience in the middle of the forest!

Wir waren heute zum ersten Mal mit unseren beiden Kindern (fast 4 und fast 1) dort und werden sicherlich nun öfter kommen. Die Mitarbeiter sind überaus freundlich und das Essen war sehr lecker. Der Spielplatz nebenan ist auch super!

We've been eating there a lot lately and then going for a run with our dog. Very pleasantly surprised every time. The service is great, the selection is huge and the food tastes fantastic every time. We recommend!

Very bad service since new owner, Waiters are incredibly disrespectful and unmotivated. It starts with an annoyed reception of the order and a long wait for food that is not served properly and ends with the waiter insulting us because we complain about the omissions. You can't say anything against the food, but it's still not worth the price. Very nicely located, but the negative experiences outweigh the good food and ambience. Not recommended

Very nicely located restaurant. Ideal for a short hike in the forest or just enjoying the sunset from the observation tower. There is also a large outdoor area where you can relax. Like a big children's playground.

The restaurant is wonderfully located in the middle of the forest. Since it is an Italian restaurant, the staff is very busy, Italians. Unfortunately the food is extremely expensive. We paid over €70 for two adults with two children (two children's portions), schnitzel and pizza, with a drink each. And that's just outrageously expensive for a restaurant that doesn't even accept a card as a payment option, only cash.

Excessive prices for below-average quality of food... here you pay for the location.

A very nice atmosphere. Service and prices are appropriate. A playground for the children is right next to the restaurant. I had a rump steak. It was perfect! Tender and free of sinews. On the other hand, my husband's pizza was very disappointing. It looked 1:1 like a frozen pizza, pretty small, no crust, no soft base. Nothing special in terms of taste either. We had worlds better pizzas there. A pity.

The food was very tasty and the service was friendly, but we waited a long time for the drinks. I would have liked it to be explicitly stated that only cash payment is possible, as in a restaurant like this you would not assume that only this payment method is available.

Very nice in itself, but the prices are exorbitant. 2 people €75 for 1 pizza, 2 starters, 3 soft drinks and 2 scoops of ice cream. So 40€ per head including a tip, without drinking wine or anything like that…

Beautifully located restaurant, but that's about it. I've rarely felt so uncomfortable in a restaurant. Service unmotivated, unfriendly and listless. Plates are slapped down without a word. After that, no one can be seen for further drinks. When the full salad plate was cleared away, no one asked if it was tasty...not exactly the lowest price in terms of price. Salad plate 14 €, but you get the cheapest oil and vinegar. Pizza bread dry and hard. Taste equals 0.000. No thanks when paying, deducted without a word. I would have liked to give 0 stars for this subterranean service and for the food. As a paying guest, I expect something different here. Never again!

Where should I start here? We got the plastic menus placed on the table and the gentleman left again. Drinks and food were consumed at the same time - after about 15 minutes. The restaurant and the outdoor area were hardly occupied, so it wasn't a full hut so you would have to expect a longer wait for drinks. After taking the order, the drinks came quickly, maybe a 2-3 minute wait < Why did the drinks come so quickly but it took so long to get them?!?! We ordered simple fries with cream sauce for our son, he really wanted to eat them. Fries with hunter sauce arrived. Complaining went badly, no one looked at our table. My son is then there to re-order and let you know. My wife's salad was drier like a piece of Zewa pizza bread was half burnt. When it was cleared away, we weren't even asked why half a pizza bread and a whole salad were returned. Drinks empty, no waitress came to ask if we wanted anything else, not even when clearing the table. When we got the bill, we were looked at askance, and when I asked for the bill, the waiter came and said, “The boss said, please leave it untouched next time…” Nice location, wrong shop owner!!!!

Best Spaghetti Aglio e Olio I. in the whole area. Plus nice, attentive service. What more do you want. The Fantasy Salad and the Pizza Special are also highly recommended

Prices were set far too high and Dr. Oven fresh pizza salami (sorry I recognize it among 100 pizzas.) and 8 euros for that 🤔 shame Been there again after almost a year and also for the last time..!!! We once ordered schnitzel and, unbelievably, they were frozen, something like that doesn't work., 😡

If you don't come at peak times on the weekend, it's nice and you'll get attention from the employees. Service is otherwise good and attentive. The food tastes good, the portions are rather small, so order more. A trip there by bike is definitely worth it.

Unfortunately I have to give this one star. I would have liked to give 0. First to the positive things: The ambience is very nice, but that's about it. The waitress took a very long time to serve us. Sometimes there were 6 waiters standing at the counter and talking. There were four of us there and we ordered two iced teas, which were diluted with water. At a price of €4.50, that's very steep. One meal out of four was cold. In a dish with porcini mushrooms, there were some full of worms... I only noticed that at the end. After being asked if everything was OK, I told the waiter this. He stood there for 2 minutes without saying a word, cleared away and disappeared. After 10 minutes he came back and denied that there were worms in the mushrooms. I told him that I knew my way around, whereupon he called his superior. He also denied everything, since the mushrooms were frozen, and the worms were probably frozen too... Without an apology, the full price had to be paid. This is what bad service looks like. Given the high prices, you can't even pay by card, which should actually be mandatory given the ever-increasing use of cash in restaurants. Once and never again.

Underground service. Not worth a visit. Why? Therefore: We ordered tortelloni with porcini mushrooms. Unfortunately, we noticed that the porcini mushrooms were completely wormy. We are mushroom experts with years of experience and could see this firsthand. When the waiter came and asked us if everything was OK, we told him so. The waiter made a face and left the table without comment. At first we thought he would come back with compensation. Nothing like that happened. After another 10 minutes of waiting, the chef (presumably) arrived. We informed him again that the mushrooms were wormy. He denied this, even though the worms in the mushrooms could be seen with the naked eye, and started arguing with us. No apology, no compensation and we also had to pay the full price of the dish. As a catering employee, this situation couldn't have been solved any worse. That was a masterpiece of ineptitude. In addition, the dishes are expensive and card payments are not offered here either. Our iced tea (0.4L for €4.50) was even diluted with water.

Beautifully located, with a large outdoor terrace. A real treat today with the beautiful weather. The service staff were very friendly and quick. Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed with the food. It tasted good, but just a carbonara that isn't creamy doesn't work for me. (you can see in the photo)

Food flop - ambience great! Caution: No card payment possible! Large terrace with lots of seats and an adjacent playground where you can keep an eye on the children and enjoy your meal in peace. This brings us to the most important point: unfortunately the food was far too expensive. A small pizza (topped dough blank, not stone oven quality) for 12 euros and a manageable salad for 16 euros are simply too much of a good thing. Unfortunately we didn't like it and we were still hungry after eating. The staff was friendly but very overwhelmed. You often had to ask because things were forgotten. We won't visit this restaurant again because the price-performance ratio just wasn't right for us.

A little hidden but in a beautiful location you can eat very well here. Fair prices and very nice staff.

The food is just average for a pizzeria. There are much better Italian restaurants in the area in terms of taste and food. The ambience, the location in the middle of the forest on the Buchberg is very nice, but the service is friendly. No card payment, that's actually no longer possible these days. All in all, only three stars because of the food. I go to a restaurant to eat well and not sit in a great location that you apparently have to pay for. It has become quite expensive

Hello, the Buchberggrill is a nice restaurant with a perfect location. The observation tower next door is magnificent. Unfortunately, the service was not only inattentive, but also disinterested and arrogant. It also took a relatively long time for the food to arrive. However, my fiancée and I had to push the service several times, otherwise we would have left thirsty. We would like to recommend the restaurant, but given the fairly high price level, the service and friendliness would have to improve significantly.

Asparagus time... "only 3 asparagus" with salmon and potatoes.. Ridiculous . Employees at the counter were very loud.

Food was delicious, prices were a bit higher. No card payment is possible. The neighboring observation tower with a view of the Frankfurt skyline is worth a climb.

Parmesan schnitzel and penne vegetariania were very tasty. I would have liked the schnitzel to be a little bigger, but it was still very tasty.

After the small climb from the parking lot below (you can also park at the top), you can enjoy Italian cuisine at the top of the tower. The staff is very friendly and you can also sit comfortably outside with your four-legged friend. 👍 prices are still ok. Another idea for the weekend would be cake and stuff like that 😉😄

The food (Penne Mafiosa) was tasty, but might be too spicy for some guests. Service friendly. There was a limoncello to say goodbye. In summer you can definitely sit outside.

Price performance is NOT in the first row here. The schnitzel was definitely NOT homemade! The breading is CATASTROPLE. The pizza was definitely not fresh, more like a finished pizza. Charging 6 euros for 12 pieces of fries is usury! There is no question about the price increases... then the quality of the food should also be of a high standard! The location is just right here.

There is a playground outside for children, as the forest kindergarten is adjacent there. Deduction because card payment is not possible. Take cash with you!

We were present in the restaurant with a group of 30 people. From the service to the food, everything was perfect and tasty. The steaks were very well prepared for each of us, I can recommend them. The grappa at the end was also our dessert. We look forward to seeing you again soon.

The food is good. The friendliness of the staff leaves a lot to be desired. You literally get the glasses and plates slammed onto the table. After the meal we were not asked for any more drinks. It seemed as if they wanted to get rid of the guests quickly.

Seht nettes Personal, tolle Location und gutes, rechliches Essen. Die Preise sind etwas höher im vergleich zu anderen Italienischen Restaurants. Geschmack und schnelligkeit bis das Essen kommt sind recht gut. Was wirklich sehr sauer aufstösst ist das man nur mit Bargeld zahlen kann. Alles in allem war es ein sehr schöner Mittag und wir werden gerne wiederommen.

Had dinner there with friends. We made a reservation and that was a good thing because the restaurant is really busy. The service was okay, we had to wait almost 45 minutes for our food after placing our order, but it then came to the table in full for all 10 people. Unfortunately, the side salad was not washed properly and the lamb's lettuce still had soil attached to it, which you could also taste in the dressing. The schnitzel was okay but the fries had been in the deep fryer for far too long. The pasta was excellent. What was noticed negatively in the end was that you can only pay in cash and cannot accept card payments. Unfortunately we didn't know this. It would be nice if the staff could draw attention to this again. In our opinion, prices are sometimes really high.
