We ate here with friends in December because it was highly recommended. And we were definitely not disappointed. It's a bit hidden away, but still easy to reach by car, and there are plenty of parking spaces. The staff is very warm and accommodating. The ambiance is deceptive at first, and it's highly recommended to ask the waiters about the daily specials. The food was truly excellent, and in terms of taste, it's hard to beat anything. We would come back anytime and highly recommend it.

In spring/early summer 2023, I hadn't even noticed that Merih Demir was no longer cooking at Landhaus Sonneneck. Only the noticeably declining kitchen performance at the time made me a little suspicious. Since then, we've had the pleasure of enjoying Merih's excellent cuisine several times in his new digs. If you don't know... Merih's brother Murat is the tenant and is also primarily responsible for the service of the numerous satisfied guests. Special requests are no problem. Whatever is feasible is easily accommodated. A decent selection of wines by the glass. Anyone who wants to can sample them in advance. The interior design is rather functional, as is still often the case in so many club restaurants; in summer temperatures, a shady spot on the spacious raised terrace with a view over the well-maintained tennis courts is a natural choice. The menu is deliberately kept small, with a few daily specials expanding the offerings. I always really enjoy the well-known vitello tonnato and the carpaccio with delicately spiced Cipriani sauce, as well as the well-made pasta dishes. The house always serves fresh white bread with homemade aioli beforehand. Last year's goose leg was less impressive. Of course, at a reasonable price of €27.90 – they admit that the product was bought "somewhere" abroad – I shouldn't have too high expectations, and it's certainly always a matter of appreciation whether you want to spend a few euros more. But the side dishes, especially the thin and rather unremarkable sauce, weren't really my cup of tea either. The consistency of a good goose jus should be such that it can be easily absorbed by the dumplings. The venison ragù in a beautifully spicy, slightly creamy jus, on the other hand, was much better. I'll stick with the Italian classics, which always impress with good, honest culinary craftsmanship. I still consider the prices for food and drinks to be entirely reasonable, especially considering that more and more restaurants seem to be riding the wave of inflation. Overall, 4.5 stars, rounded to 5! Highly recommended!

There were 4 of us and we were ignored. The waitress didn't think it was necessary to do anything in general. Banana wheat was a foreign concept - the main thing was to ask stupidly several times what I would order and get the boss to do it. You had to place your order yourself at the counter, but at least it was brought out - without asking afterwards whether you wanted the card. We “actually” wanted to spend a nice evening there and try out the menu. After all, we live right in the neighborhood (3 minutes walk). Luckily, thanks to the high motivation of the employees, we left quickly. Especially since we were treated like low earners... I'm terribly sorry that I only arrived with my Karl Lagerfeld clutch and left my Land Rover in front of my door and didn't carry my friend who walks with a cane... Especially since a banana wheat shouldn't be a foreign word in this type of "gastronomy" - it's just embarrassing. The atmosphere is reminiscent of a mix of a school canteen and a betting shop and then you also act as if you were flying in the golden steak from Dubai. I prefer the evenings at the Pink Pepper, where you can relax and listen to the traffic and watch the romance of the traffic lights change from a distance. In every other restaurant in Solingen you can get a banana wheat and something decent - for more money. Cheers and never ever again! It's too bad that you can only look in front of people's heads. I would have liked to share several impressions, but unfortunately it's not possible to check them on Google because it didn't happen. I can only warmly advise against a visit.

We were there with 7 people, everyone was very satisfied. Absolutely recommend this restaurant. Very nice service, delicious food even if the menu is clear. But in this case, less is more.

When we announced we had a reservation after a rude "What do you want?", they replied, "There's no reservation in your name." When I assured them we had reserved by phone, they replied, "I have no idea where you reserved, not here." I showed them my call log on my cell phone with our nearly two-minute phone call in the hope of clearing up the mistake. They then whispered to us and offered us a side table, halfway near the entrance. After so much "politeness" and "effort" to make the guest happy, we reluctantly declined the emergency seat and went to a restaurant that cares about its guests. With that in mind, floppin, no thanks.

This was our second time there and we weren't disappointed ❤️! A "simple" atmosphere, with a great view over the tennis courts and the sun. Topped off with a really delicious meal that my husband is still raving about at home. My sea bream was absolutely delicious and natural in taste, the spices were very well balanced. Even though we usually enjoy sitting on the Wupper, we are happy about a great, nearby enrichment in Widdert 🤩. This way we don’t have to go back up the mountain 😉. The price-performance ratio is absolutely reasonable, given the freshness and quality of the food 👌.

Today, it's mainly about the outside sales – in addition to the exorbitant prices for a handful of fries (€4 for a small bowl), the service was also quite poor. The fries were the worst I've eaten in all of Solingen so far. A maximum of 2 minutes in the fryer, completely undercooked, soggy, and barely seasoned. The seasoning wouldn't have saved it, unfortunately, nor would the free mayo. The only thing that tasted good was the mango lassi, for which I'll gladly give it a star.

The food is very good and the atmosphere is very good. You immediately feel in good hands. I've already spent some fun evenings there with friends.

We ate there on Sunday evening after the Wuppertal dance tournament. It was simply fantastic. My utmost respect goes to the owners, who have been running this restaurant for four generations. And they've always maintained consistently high quality. Keep up the good work. The country needs restaurateurs like them.
