I come here since many years with Mr.Aito or girlfriends. I always use to have a private room which was a nice experiance specialy when bringing a nice lady. The food is exelent!

Top quality and very attentive service

Decided to visit this place for a nice night out for our anniversary (4 people). Unfortunately the experience was not pleasant due to the bad service We arrived for our 20:00 reservation at 20:05 and we were asked to wait by the bar since our table wasn't ready…. About 25 minutes later we were seated. It took another 15 minutes to get menus and another 20 minutes before someone asked us for our selections. So overall been there an hour and haven't seen any food. After ordering it took approx 35 minutes to get the first course, A soup. 2 at the table we’re vegetarian and in one of the soups there was a small piece of meat… The theme continues as there was consistently a 40 minute gap between courses which to me personally is a deal breaker. It was approximately 22:30 when the chef started cooking our mains. There was only one chef across 6 groups and he had to go at it one by one. For the price paid per person you would expect better service. Either 2 chefs, some more small courses between the chef making the rounds to keep you interested. There was a manger who didn’t even come by to ask if how we are doing (something that should be quite standard at such a class of restaurant) We had ordered some fried rice along with the veg menus which they just completely forgot! Fried rice is charged extra and they of course didn't forget to add it to the bill. The wagu was delicious. But the flavors of all the other food was nice but nothing better than other mid level Japanese restaurants. The veg menu was very disappointing for the price; main course was just udon noodles and some generic vegetables. Dessert was served as they were closing up the restaurant. Overall disappointing experience that really tries your patience.

Reserved a dinner online for 19:00. They didn't bother to tell us that they only had two seatings at 18:00 and 20:00. So they automatically changed the reservation to 20:00, informing us the night before (no call, only an email in communication). We called them back to change to 18:00, and the person said okay. Then we showed up, and they said there's no seat for us at 18:00, they didn't get the message. Why does the online system allow to book times that they don't allow? Why do they promise a reservation time change when they don't do anything about it? We had planned our weekend dining around this meal, and it was entirely spoiled. TERRIBLE!!!

There was nothing wrong with the food, but considering the prices it was just average. The service was not even remotely worthy of the hotel. Unfortunately, all in all disappointing.

A foreign visitor wanted sushi in Düsseldorf. Unfortunately, many locations were already fully booked, but Benkay, recommended as one of the top 10 sushi restaurants in our region, allowed online reservations. The experience there was anything but “Top 10” and absolutely not recommended at the moment. The “Benkay” itself feels like it takes place in the lobby of the Hotel Nikko. There is no “real” restaurant feeling. The actual entrance to Benkay no longer exists. We didn't expect the hotel lobby to be a restaurant, especially given the standards we set ourselves due to the pricing. But what's worse is the service. Overall, people seem overwhelmed by the overall situation. Place an order, order drinks, bring the chosen dishes, and ideally with the right side dishes - none. The food served itself was good, there is nothing to criticize, although the pricing mentioned above is ambitious. For me personally, the Benkay is not recommended, especially because of the hotel lobby “feeling” and the non-functional service.

In itself a great restaurant. A not exactly cheap way to dine, but highly recommended for special occasions. The service and chefs are very friendly and the food is very tasty. But you should avoid the toilet. That kind of thing ruins your appetite! Hence a star deduction.

Wir wollten uns abends für ein paar Drinks unten an die Hotelbar setzen und gemütlich den Abend ausklingen lassen. Wir wurden von einem Barkeeper "begrüßt", der genervt mit den Augen gerollt hat, als er uns erblickt hat und durchgehend unfreundlich und abweisend war. Auf eine kurze Nachfrage reagierte er patzig und meinte, er hätte keine Zeit dafür, weil er sich im seine Gäste kümmern müsse... Entschuldigung, aber sind wir nicht auch seine Gäste??! Der Service und die Stimmung waren demnach unterirdisch. Bis wir unsere Getränke hatten, hat es auch etwas gedauert, was aber okay war, in Anbetracht der Tatsache, dass er allein war. Preislich war es auch viel zu teuer und am liebsten wären wir beim Betreten des Barbereichs direkt wieder gegangen. Bei so einem "Service" nutzt einem die schönste Umgebung nichts. Wir waren nach 5 Minuten einfach nur super schlecht drauf.

Es war ein wirklich toller Abend. Ein perfektes Essen, von einem sehr freundlichem Koch. Auch die Kellner, ein super Service mit allem was dazu gehört. Ich hatte um Reservierungsbestätigung gebeten, weil es ein Geburtstag Geschenk war. Wir haben auf Grund dessen einen zusätzlichen, köstlichen zwischengang erhalten und eine Gratulation... für solch einen perfekten Service, bezahle ich gerne etwas mehr. Ein zauberhafter Abend, mit allem, was dazu gehört
