We ordered our food to go and were very satisfied. It was very fresh, the wait wasn't long, and the staff was friendly. We'd love to come back again!

Hello, We ate there on August 8, 2025, around 4 p.m. We received friendly service. There were plenty of seats. We sat outside on the terrace in the beautiful weather. The meals we ordered were beautifully presented and fresh. They were also incredibly delicious and enormously large. Special requests were also no problem (see photos). We would gladly return. We were there as a family of four.

A quaint restaurant with a good menu, delicious food, a pleasant atmosphere, and attentive service. Centrally located and well-served, but parking is scarce.

There's no accounting for taste, as everyone has different tastes. But in our opinion, this is the best restaurant in Zingst. The food is very good and plentiful, and the people who run the place are always friendly and accommodating, even in the most stressful of times. My wife found "Barbara's Rhubarb Juice" very tasty. 😉

Highly recommended! The service was very friendly and even helped us find a place for the stroller. The food was incredibly delicious! Perfectly seasoned (Schnitzel Milano), plenty of it, and tender meat. The dessert (chocolate soufflé) was absolutely delicious! The vanilla ice cream is amazing ❤️ Highly recommended! Good value for money. The schnitzel was a bit too crispy for us, but the combination with Bolognese and baked cheese was new and lighter, definitely recommended.

It was a very, very good dinner to round off our vacation... The ambiance is very inviting, with plenty of space inside and outside... You may have to wait to be seated, but in our case, it was very quick... The entire staff is super friendly and polite... The appetizer, the bruschetta, was divine, followed by the perfectly cooked fish and truly highly recommended; please don't miss it if you visit Zingst!!! Six of us went to the Strandkate restaurant on July 26, 2025. The service and food were excellent, and dining in such a cozy atmosphere will remain a fond memory for a long time. We enjoy coming back here again and again.

Two of us spontaneously went there for dinner. The weather wasn't great, but it was pleasant outside under the awning. Service was quick and friendly. We ordered two cod dishes, which arrived promptly with fried potatoes. The fish was divine, juicy and cooked to perfection, the best fish I've ever seen in Zingst. The fried potatoes were also delicious, although I didn't get enough. When it tastes good, you want more. Unfortunately, we didn't take any photos, but we'll get them as we'll definitely eat there again. Update 6/18/25 We ate there again today and it tasted even better than last week. The fish and fried potatoes were once again cooked to perfection. This time there was even more filling, and we were completely full. They should give it 6 stars or downgrade the other restaurants we visited. We'll be happy to come back and hope the food stays as delicious and the staff remain as friendly.

Super friendly and very good food

It's customary in good restaurants for the waitress to ask how guests are doing. Even better when it doesn't feel obligatory, but rather conveys the satisfying feeling that you're welcome as a guest in this establishment and that you'll be treated to something special. We'll take that feeling with us and keep it until our next visit. We were treated to a great deal. Perfect cuisine, good drinks, and a fantastic staff who, despite a full house, were able to maintain a relaxed and professional atmosphere while serving excellent food. Thank you for the very pleasant time we were able to spend at the Strandkate!

Wir haben das Restaurant ob seiner guten Bewertungen hier besucht. Leider können wir diese Bewertung nicht bestätigen und wurden enttäuscht ob der Qualität der Speisen. Zumindest eine der Bedienungen war sehr freundlich und sehr bemüht! Ich hatte Kabeljau mit Bratkartoffeln und Gurkensalat. Das Essen kam trotz voll belegter Gaststätte sehr schnell, für mich im Nachhinein eine Bestätigung, dass es nicht frisch zubereitet war. Die Bratkartoffeln verbrutzelt, schwammen in Öl, die Fischstücke vermutlich aus der Friteuse. Die Fischplatte Strandkate meiner Frau (28,90.-€) war nicht viel besser.

We went out to eat with our very sweet and calm dog. (Outside area) Everything was fine until a slightly "dim" older guest and his wife sat down at the next table and became very upset about our dog's presence. Only after we spoke clearly and very firmly did calm return. Unfortunately, the hosts didn't intervene to calm this self-promoter. Of course, we had asked in advance whether our dog was welcome, and they explicitly confirmed that they were. It's a shame, as this somewhat tarnished the positive impression of the restaurant. Everything else, however, was good; the food and service were very good and highly recommended.

Delicious food, would love to come back

We were there on a Saturday evening. We made a reservation because of a birthday... What we didn't realize was that we didn't have to wait in line – unfortunately, we lost a lot of time... (Perhaps they could communicate this more clearly, saying that with reservations, you can just walk in). We had a nice corner seat, very pleasant, good service (they came by often to ask questions). We really liked the atmosphere. The portions looked very small at first (to be honest), but they were perfectly adequate! The value for money was very good. We can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant! And people were still queuing for a seat at 7:30 p.m.!

Eine Reservierung war noch möglich.eine sehr frdl Bedienung führte uns zum Platz. Das Ambiente traumhaft schön,klein,urig. Das Kabeljaufilet mit Bratkartoffeln und Senfsouce super lecker,reichlich. Die selbstgemachte Remouladensouce ist sehr zu empfehlen. Die Servicekräfte sind alle sehr freundlich,auch wenn es sehr gut besucht ist. Über viele Jahre hinweg ist die Strandkate für uns im Urlaub mehrmals ein Besuch wert

Very charming restaurant. We had the cod. It was delicious. The tartar sauce was a dream. The only drawback was that no reservations were available, so we had to wait half an hour for a table.

Highly recommended. Good selection of dishes. The food was really delicious, and the service was excellent. It was especially great that our children shared an adult meal, and instead of a robber's plate, each child received a beautifully prepared half portion on their own plate. Thank you!

Fantastic fish dishes! We'd love to come back!

We went there for dinner because of the good reviews and ended up leaving with mixed feelings. The staff was super friendly, the atmosphere was great, the food was so-so, or good (depending on what you order!). The salad🥗 with the fish fillet was delicious and surprisingly topped with a decent amount of fish👍🏻. There were supposed to be two portions left of the daily special "Chicken Gyro," but when the plate arrived, it felt like only half a portion😕 and wasn't really a hit, as was the currywurst. The sandwich, on the other hand, was decent and tasted good. So depending on what you order, you can be lucky or unlucky. Drink prices are pretty steep.

We've been coming to Zingst for over ten years. We happened upon the Strandkate on our first visit, and we've been coming back at least once per stay ever since. A cozy atmosphere, very friendly, attentive staff, and excellent food. The fried potatoes and the Strandkate Remo are especially delicious; you should definitely try them!

The food there is average. I had tagliatelle with garlic and chili, which was overcooked and really only got its flavor from the chilies. Nothing special.

We visited the Strandkate again on May 31, 2025. We tried almost all the tables there, even the small one by the entrance on the left or outside. Last time, we got the table in front of the bar. Despite two minor accidents, the Strandkate team managed to get out of trouble; special thanks go to the manager behind the bar. The food was excellent, the service friendly and prompt; this wasn't the last time we'll be there for dinner. My conclusion: if you haven't been there yet, you've missed out.

We ate here twice in the last few days, once with a reservation and once spontaneously. With a party of eight, we weren't turned away, and even though almost every table was taken, we were seated very courteously with a short wait. The food was delicious, the service very friendly, and the seating in the beach hut is comfortable. Many thanks to the entire team!

The best option for dinner in Zingst in my opinion. Serving a good choice of fish. For those not in favor of fish, many alternatives like Schnitzel, Soups etc. Good desert, too! We had to wait only few minutes without reservation on a Saturday evening.

Strandkate Zingst – Reliable quality and a sweet highlight The Strandkate has stood for consistently good quality of its dishes for years. Guests can choose to sit in the two outdoor areas or in the spacious interior - this time we secured a comfortable spot in the beach chair. The menu offers the typical Baltic Sea mix of fish and meat dishes, but the taste is more refined than in many other restaurants in the area. There is also a regularly changing daily menu with additional offers. A special highlight in the afternoon is the Sturmsack – an impressive cream puff filled with two scoops of ice cream and cream, accompanied by hot fruit. So generous that it's easily enough for two. What completes the experience is the friendly and attentive service. You really feel welcome here as a guest. Conclusion: The Strandkate remains a permanent address for us - for years and in the future!

There is heart and soul involved here. Best restaurant in all of Zingst in my opinion. Mega delicious food, very friendly service and the food really can't be beat. It's fun to get full here. Been here several times after discovery :). Thank you very much for the great experience.

Wir hatten reserviert. Leider haben wir uns verspätet; den Fußweg haben wir falsch eingeschätzt. Dennoch, den Tisch haben wir bekommen. Sofort fiel uns die umfangreiche Fischkarte auf. Der Fisch war frisch. Großartig und das Bier schmeckte dazu. Beim nächsten Mal gerne wieder. Hier sind tolle Menschen für uns beschäftigt.

If you are looking for a restaurant with a high standard, you have come to the right place! The staff is very nice and friendly. You can sit comfortably outside and inside. When it gets cold, the outside area is heated. There is a great selection of food here. Everyone will find what they are looking for. The taste more than convinced us!!!! Wow, just a fantastic meal!!!! From the tartar sauce to the salad dressing, everything is homemade here and impresses with its taste, freshness and great portions!! Thanks to the kitchen and all the hard-working helpers who made our last evening such an experience.

The garlic soup with salmon is brilliant, the corn plaice is a poem, the fried potatoes are just as they should be. The employees are motivated and nice, but something must have gone wrong with the pan or some device, as I did have a strong allergic reaction (gluten). Sometimes the devil is in the details... 😐

Our visit after a long day of hiking and adventure in Zingst was rounded off with a wonderful evening in the Strandkate. The food here is simply wonderful, and it comes to the table incredibly quickly despite being at full capacity. The staff is very careful, friendly and really very accommodating. Nobody seemed stressed in any way and that surprised me a lot because there were always new guests at the door looking for a table or picking up their orders. I have never experienced children in a restaurant being given a few pencils and a small coloring book to pass the already short waiting time. Unfortunately, at some point I had to give in to the fish platter and have the rest packed up; it was so rich that I just couldn't manage it and far too tasty to leave it there. ;) Many thanks to the service and kitchen at Strandkate, we were able to end our last evening in Zingst tasty and very comfortably cared for. <3

We made a last-minute reservation at the Strandkate by phone for two people and a dog. It worked out perfectly. When we arrived, we were greeted by a very friendly waitress and shown to our table. We ordered two Rostocker and two Baltic herring plates (fried herring, matjes, Bismarck herring, and fried potatoes). The food arrived super quickly and was absolutely delicious. The restaurant is decorated with great care; we felt very comfortable and will definitely be back.

We had a really pleasant experience in this restaurant. The food was nothing outstanding, above average but not a culinary highlight (made for the masses). But that's nothing bad and for that reason it shouldn't be judged as bad. But what is really OUTSTANDING is the service. When you enter the restaurant you are greeted in a friendly manner and smiled at, and the cards are quickly brought to you. When ordering and serving, always have a smile on your face and a friendly saying. The colleagues themselves also joke with each other and seem to get along well. This atmosphere is very pleasant for them. Speaking of atmosphere, the restaurant itself is very cozy and looks a bit like an old fisherman's house. The ceilings are low, with open beams. The light is pleasantly warm, the temperature is perfect. All in all, this restaurant convinced us and since we are in Zingst more often, this will not be our last visit. The service in this restaurant is what particularly impressed us and we can only recommend it: 5/5 stars

Wir hatten aufgrund der positiven Bewertungen hier reserviert. Der Service und das Ambiente haben überzeugt- das Essen leider nicht. Die Bedienung war ausgesprochen freundlich und zügig, auch bereits bei der Reservierung am Telefon, das muss unbedingt erwähnt werden. Der Umfang der Karte ist nicht besonders groß, deswegen waren unsere Erwartungen an die Küche hoch. Der Seehecht mit Risotto war fad, hier wurde wie auch an allen anderen Gerichten mit Gewürzen und Kräutern sparsam gearbeitet. Das Risotto leider „pampig und pappig“, entweder zu lange gegart oder aufgewärmt. Der Kabeljau mit Bratkartoffeln und Gurkensalat ebenso geschmacklos - was wirklich schade war, denn angerichtet war alles sehr schön und mit frischen Kräutern garniert. Als Vorspeise gab es Bruschetta, die war geschmacklich gut, aber es sollte unbedingt anderes Brot verwendet werden- die Brötchen passen nicht, sind auch nicht authentisch und waren zu weich. Das ofenfrische Ciabatta wäre perfekt dafür! Dieses wurde mit „hausgemachter Aioli“ serviert. Die Aioli schmeckte eher säuerlich und die Konsistenz war nicht homogen - genau wie eine industriell hergestellte. Die Kindergerichte waren gut. Die Preise in Ordnung. Insgesamt hat die Strandkate Charme.

We love the Baltic Sea and regional fish dishes. Here you can get your culinary fix in a cozy atmosphere and friendly service. We were 2 adults with a 10 year old child. As a starter we had a pot of shrimp. Then the tagliatelle with salmon for the child and the fish platter for my husband and I. To finish, we shared the crème brûlèe with cinnamon plums and vanilla ice cream. It was all a culinary delight. The shrimp were super tasty. The fish was perfectly fried, the fried potatoes were crispy and well seasoned. The dressing for the salad was very fresh and light. Unfortunately we didn't manage to finish everything as the portions were very generous. The waiting time was very short. The price for everything, including various drinks, is of course not that low, but it's worth it if you value quality. Making a reservation wasn't a problem and we got a very comfortable table in the back for our large dog (giant schnauzer).
