Delicious food and friendly service

On the evening of November 1, 2025, we attended a celebration at Kochwerk Zingst. We were treated to a menu consisting of several appetizers, three main courses, and a selection of desserts. Everything was of the highest standard: all the dishes were lovingly prepared and artfully presented. A feast for the eyes, which was then shared with the palate. Because we had the opportunity to watch the open kitchen, I was able to speak directly with one of the chefs and was inspired by their passion! After the first few courses, I asked if this was a Michelin-starred restaurant. The answer: "We don't aspire to be." And it is precisely this composure, this confidence, that Kochwerk exudes. If you want something special and also appreciate understated elegance, then this is the perfect place! We also stayed overnight at the Kochwerk guesthouse: this establishment is highly recommended as a guesthouse as well! The next morning, we enjoyed a breakfast that perfectly prepared us for a November swim in the Baltic Sea. Thank you to Kochwerk, thank you to Mirko, to Olaf and the entire team!

We ate at the restaurant as a couple. The food was delicious and the service very friendly. The atmosphere was very pleasant and it was a wonderful evening. The food was very creative and fantastic 😋

Everything was great, highly recommended. Since there are only three rooms, everything is very individual and very quiet. Our room was a real apartment, with a living room, bedroom, and bathroom, of course, everything very tastefully furnished. I want to stay overnight at this place. We come to Kochwerk for dinner every year while on vacation. Unfortunately, we discovered that the quality has noticeably deteriorated. While the menu is more extensive, it comes at the expense of the availability of some items. From such an upscale restaurant, one would expect the dishes offered to be available. Furthermore, the quality of the side dishes has significantly deteriorated.

A small hotel with a very good restaurant, located a bit outside the city. Everything has been skillfully renovated. We had a large, superb room with a balcony.

First of all, everything below is of course subjective assessment and perception. The room, specifically number 3, gets 5 stars for furnishings, comfort, and size (two rooms). Unfortunately, the "Deluxe Double Room" is located directly above the Kochwerk kitchen, which is where the issue of soundproofing comes into play. During the restaurant's opening hours, from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM, the noise is so extreme that we rarely went there, so we only gave it 1 star 😕. Due to its proximity to Barther Straße, soundproof windows were installed in this room. Please believe us, we know what we're talking about; our hotel is located in the approach area of ​​the Federal Police helicopter base 😁👍. 5-star breakfast, 5-star restaurant.

This week I was privileged to enjoy a culinary highlight at Kochwerk. The food was truly innovative and delicious. The food is still fresh and cooked with love. The service and the welcome were so friendly and welcoming. I immediately felt welcome. The lovingly furnished rooms are clean, spacious, and, importantly for me, you can leave the windows open at night to breathe in the sea air, as there are fly screens on every window. Parking is available. Treat yourself! Just treat yourself to Kochwerk. 😊I'd love to come back.

Conclusion: "I wanted to but couldn't"! You can make reservations here. We could choose between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.! We named a "slot" at 8 p.m. and were first asked if we wanted an appetizer! They were apparently already clearing up. And it continued like this! The appetizer came before the kitchen's greeting! While the main course was being served, the breakfast table was already being set next door 😕 My meal was okay. My wife's duck arrived after only 15 minutes and was tough. It must have been left in the warming rack in the kitchen too long. If you catch the timing right, it's definitely good. But if not 😕 You can clearly tell (everywhere in Zingst) that the peak season is over 🤔

Extremely good food at really reasonable prices. I highly recommend it; it was delicious, and I'd be happy to come back.

After three years, I'm back on vacation in Zingst, and of course I've booked appointments at Kochwerk. What can I say: you still cook as well as you did when you started, and you have fantastic service staff. I'm looking forward to the next few evenings.

We stayed at the guesthouse for several days again. It was another wonderful stay. The staff are very friendly, helpful, and courteous. The breakfast is simply fantastic. The waiter who prepares and serves breakfast also gives some tips for excursions. The chef knows his craft. The food is prepared to perfection, with great care and attention to detail. We were once again completely satisfied. We are already looking forward to our next vacation there.

A beautiful restaurant, certainly of a higher standard. However, with seven paying guests, you'd expect it to be possible to order a meal from the "CHILDREN'S MENU"!! Even if the person is an adult, you don't want to go into detail about a health restriction or have to explain it. The fact that it was accepted without comment would have been a nice gesture. For our starter, we ordered spread with bread, and shortly after, the kitchen greeted us...bread with spread!!?? Then our spread...Can't you ask when ordering if you'd like something else, since something similar is about to arrive? The service was very nice, but the business philosophy is unfortunately questionable. For a restaurant that wants to position itself as more upscale, please also serve guests flexibly. Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you have plenty of money or want to deliberately throw food away. It's a shame, but we unfortunately can't recommend it. Tip: It's better to sell small portions with care than none at all.

We have been visiting Kochwerk in Zingst regularly for years and appreciate the generally good food. However, during our last two visits, the service was unacceptable: • Long waits for our tables, drink orders, and greetings from the kitchen were delayed and sometimes incomplete. • Cutlery was only served upon request, and wine was served too late and at room temperature. • Main course was overheated, side dishes lukewarm, and complaints were met with neither an apology nor any improvements. • Guests were treated completely unequally: Some received all their courses promptly, while others sat for hours without service. Despite direct criticism on site, nothing has improved. We recommend: • Clear time slots for reservations and timely table information • Menus, cutlery, and glasses already set on the table • Prompt request and delivery of drinks, as well as a greeting from the kitchen • Friendly greeting, timely clearing, and immediate cutlery change This way, Kochwerk could finally underline its excellent food with service that lives up to the standards of the establishment.

A truly wonderful restaurant that made our vacation even more enjoyable. Of course, you'll have to spend a bit more here than at the fish sandwich stand, but it's worth it! The great selection of drinks is also fantastic. I'll definitely try the Yuzu Mule they offer at home :) My only criticism might be the heat inside in the summer, but otherwise, a wonderful place!

"KOCHWERK Zingst" – Visit on August 7, 2025 We arrived spontaneously after a bike ride and were given a seat inside. The entire team was extremely friendly from the start and immediately gave the impression of genuine joy and passion for their work. The service was consistently attentive, regularly checking in to see if everything was okay or if there were any requests – without ever being intrusive. The food was simply outstanding – a solid 11 out of 10. You could feel the love for their craft and the care taken in preparing every course, from the main course to dessert. The price is absolutely reasonable for this exceptional service and the high quality of the food. A clear recommendation – we would love to come back. Thank you for a great evening!

Great food! This review relates solely to the service. We've been eating here for the third year in a row, and unfortunately, it keeps getting worse. The food, I have to say, is still great. There's nothing wrong with that, but the service is disastrous. The food took ages to arrive. The children's meal arrived almost half an hour earlier than the rest of the dishes. Drinks sometimes took an extremely long time to arrive, and empty glasses weren't cleared away. We first visited the restaurant three years ago and were thrilled with the food and the service. For this reason, we returned last year and were disappointed. The service was so poor. We even had to clean up a spilled drink ourselves. We wanted to give the restaurant another chance, based solely on the food, and were unfortunately disappointed again. This was our last visit there. What a shame.

Unfortunately, we've only been to this restaurant twice, but we can truly recommend it. We haven't had such a good meal in a long time. The service is also truly excellent and rounds out the experience.

Since the price is often criticized here, I'd like to point out that the quality and the effort (that goes into the dishes) definitely justify the prices. There are restaurants (including in Zingst) that offer much less for more money. The best restaurant in Zingst, by far. We've eaten here again, and certainly not for the last time. Tuna tartare, duck breast, and halibut were on our menu today, and it was absolutely fantastic. Visually and in terms of taste, each dish was a masterpiece. The wines are also perfectly chosen for the menu. Simply a perfect culinary highlight in Zingst.

I ate here twice during my vacation. I didn't stay overnight. Five stars for the plaice and seafood with saffron risotto and wild broccoli. It was nearly perfect. Unfortunately, only three stars for the halibut with pak choi and potato terrine. The fish was very dry, the pak choi very tough, and the cauliflower and peanut purée was a homeopathic amount. The paper-thin layered potato terrine, however, was very good. Furthermore, the way my criticism was handled was unprofessional.

We dined at the restaurant and are already repeat customers! Kochwerk is a great alternative to the hearty pub fare of other local establishments and is highly recommended! The food was absolutely delicious! The service is friendly and attentive! Kochwerk isn't cheap, but it's worth every penny.

Kochwerk Zingst – creative cuisine with casual fine dining standards The Kochwerk stands out clearly from the restaurants in Zingst – both in terms of price and the quality of the food. The small, carefully put together menu offers a selection of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes that clearly stand out from the typical Baltic Sea restaurant standards thanks to their creativity. Instead of the classic combinations such as “fish with potatoes” or “schnitzel”, modernly interpreted and attractively prepared dishes are served here. The drinks menu is also very good: aperitifs and fine wines that are rarely found in the region round off the culinary experience. The dessert selection sounded promising, but after the starter and main course we were already full and unfortunately couldn't try it. A small point of criticism is the espresso, which could be stronger - a detail that is not important. Service was friendly and attentive throughout, but could use a little more explanation of the dishes to complete the casual fine dining experience. Conclusion: A culinary enrichment for Zingst that is worth its price. We'll be back!

Restaurant Kocherk in Zingst – finely composed enjoyment away from the hustle and bustle The Kocherk restaurant is located slightly away from the busy center of Zingst - a place that consciously focuses on restraint and impresses with quality, atmosphere and personal charm. As soon as you arrive, you will be greeted by a small but practical parking space directly at the house, and there are also plenty of parking spaces in the surrounding area. The interior is modern, clear and at the same time inviting - stylish without pretension. The reception was friendly and pleasantly uncomplicated. A reservation is recommended, because the Kocherk no longer seems to be an insider tip, and not just among connoisseurs. The menu is deliberately reduced – a good sign of fresh, focused cuisine. There are four fish and four meat dishes to choose from, each carefully thought out. We decided on the sea bass – an excellent choice. The fish was perfectly cooked, the side dishes were finely balanced, every element on the plate contributed to the harmony of the overall impression. Only the portion could have been a little more generous for the large appetite - so a small starter on the next visit seems advisable. A look at the dishes at the neighboring tables also confirmed the positive impression: artfully prepared, balanced in color and product composition - the cooking here is done with care and passion. The service was attentive, pleasantly discreet and rounded off the evening wonderfully. Conclusion: The Kocherk is a culinary address that combines finesse, taste and hospitality at a high level. We'll be happy to come back - and then treat ourselves to a small appetizer right at the beginning as a prelude to an all-round successful evening.

Hello, the three of us were holiday guests in the Pension / Restaurant Kochwerk in the pre-Easter period. Great little apartment, lovingly furnished, good beds and very clean. The restaurant is highly recommended, great service and great food. Plus a really great breakfast. We travel a lot and regularly visit hotels and restaurants and can unreservedly recommend embarking on a culinary journey of fine, good cuisine here. Thanks for the nice time

Die Speisen waren auf top Niveau, die Bedienung exzellent und das Ambiente gemütlich und modern. Alles in allem durften wir einen perfekten Abend dort verbringen.

Wir waren zum meinem Geburtstag in diesem Restaurant. Ambiente und Service sind über jeden Zweifel erhaben. Allerdings gibt es beim Essen starke Defizite. Wir hatten als Vorspeise eine Suppe und als Hauptgang Seeteufel Bäckchen mit Steckrüben Kartoffelstampf. Die Suppe war geschmacklich in Ordnung.... Teller war auch angewärmt...nur die Suppe war lauwarm. Schade! Dann kamen die Seeteufel Bäckchen... Der Steckrüben Kartoffelstampf war in Ordnung ,mehr aber auch nicht . Allerdings konnte man die Steckrüben nur erahnen. Eine absolute Enttäuschung waren allerdings die Bäckchen . Die waren so zäh, das man sie kaum schneiden konnte.... Eindeutig zu lange gegart. Ein Hinweis darauf wurde zur Kenntnis genommen, mehr aber auch nicht. Ich habe keine Kochausbildung aber Kartoffelstampf bekomme ich mit verbundenen Augen und einem Arm auf den Rücken gebunden hin. Tja und Fisch tot braten.... Wer kann das nicht? Eine kurze Erwähnung sollten noch die Preise finden... 32,90 € für das Hauptgericht und 9,00 € für ein Glas Wein sind selbst in der heutigen Zeit recht sportlich, aber in Ordnung wenn alles passt. Das war im Kochwerk nicht der Fall und deswegen war unser Besuch eine absolute Enttäuschung... Aber es kommt noch besser. Zu Hause schaute ich mir die Rechnung noch mal an und stellte fest ,das uns eine Flasche Wasser zu viel abgezogen wurde. Ja... Rechnung immer gleich prüfen. Werde ich in Zukunft machen. Fazit: Gute oder sehr gute Bewertungen sind immer mit Vorsicht zu genießen!

If you like to eat well and are looking for a nice atmosphere, this is the place for you! The food is exceptionally good, the service is very friendly and accommodating and you feel absolutely at home, the restaurant is very lovingly furnished with lots of beautiful little details.

We were a large group (14 people) and were totally satisfied. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. The price may be a bit higher but absolutely appropriate for the quality of the food. If we take another trip to the Baltic Sea, we will definitely come back.

The map is relatively manageable, which I actually think is a good thing. This means the cook can concentrate on just a few good dishes. In the case of my companion, this worked well; the dish was very tasty. I had plaice Finkenwerder style and was honestly disappointed. It was nicely prepared and the plaice was on point, but there was no trace of the crabs or bacon. Not only do they belong to the Finkenwerder plaice, they were also expressly included in the menu. Since I don't feel comfortable complaining about something, I set out to find out whether they had really been forgotten. In the end I found three small cubes of crab and a cube of bacon in the breading. No exaggeration, that's really all! At a price of just under €30, this is actually unacceptable. I still didn't say anything. Overall, I think the prices are a bit excessive for the ambience. They make an effort and the service is very friendly, but the bill didn't quite match what we experienced. Still, I give it three stars

Absolutely delicious! You get a true work of art conjured up on your plate and all in a modern, feel-good atmosphere. It was our first visit and we will definitely come back! We have been guests several times now and are still thrilled! The dishes are super tasty and the service is really great!!!

The annual holiday in Zingst was once again ushered in with a wonderful dinner at Kochwerk. As always, the staff is very, very friendly and accommodating, and the food is again extremely tasty! Always happy, thank you very much for that.

We made a reservation for breakfast and got our own buffet for 7 people. Drinks and egg included. The owner provided extra bacon upon request. It was very tasty, the owner was very friendly and the atmosphere was also very nice! A visit is definitely recommended!

Leider haben wir am letzten Abend unseres Kurzurlaubes im Kochwerk gegessen. Es war ein Hochgenuss. Angefangen vom Aperitif über Wein zum Essen alles war sehr lecker und fein angerichtet. Der Service super nett, das Ambiente geschmackvoll. Wir werden beim nächsten Urlaub wieder kommen. Das Kochwerk können wir sehr empfehlen.

A very good restaurant. We ate really great seasonal dishes here, everything was great. A highlight compared to the rest of the restaurants in the area!
