Der Ausblick ist einfach unschlagbar, das Essen der ganzen Gesellschaft war sehr gut, ich kann die Trüffelpasta sehr empfehlen! Auch die Kinder haben sich sehr wohl gefühlt. :)

Ebenfalls sind wir auf einer Wanderung von Bad Salzuflen zum Bismarckturm hier spontan eingekehrt und einen Platz für uns zwei gab es auch! Das Essen war sehr gut, die Hollandaise zum Spargel ein Gedicht.

Die Lage auf dem Hügel mit Blick über das Tal war hervorragend – der Sonnenuntergang war traumhaft. Der Caesar Salat mit Poulardenbrust war exzellent und wurde von einem köstlichen Grauburgunder abgerundet. Da wir draußen saßen, gab es gelegentlich Wartezeiten – aber es hat sich absolut gelohnt.

Unsere Familie trifft sich jetzt seit 30 Jahren mindestens einmal im Jahr in dieser Konstellation, und das genießen alle sehr. Es ist fast so, als ob wir jedes Jahr Konfirmation feiern, aber ohne dass jemand Verpflichtungen hat, sehr schön. Seit mindestens der Hälfte der Zeit treffen wir uns hier oben bei Ihnen liebes Team Steinmeyer, und wir möchten hiermit nochmal ein kleines Dankeschön aussprechen. Unsere Treffen während der letzten Jahre wären lange nicht so schön (und wer weiß, ob wir uns überhaupt noch treffen würden), wenn es dieses Lokal nicht gäbe, mit der tollen Lage, dem leckeren Essen, alles sehr schön frisch, und dem immer sehr freundlichen, liebevollen und aufmerksamen Serviceteam. Wir sind sicher keine einfachen Gäste, Rollstuhl, Rollator, viele Kinder, die hin und her laufen, wir wechseln oft unsere Plätze von drinnen nach draußen. Das lässt man uns nie spüren, alle behalten die Ruhe, die Freundlichkeit und den Überblick, einfach nur gut!!! Großes Dankeschön, wir fühlen uns immer wohl hier bei Ihnen.

Essen war sehr gut, man musste nur leider sehr lange auf Essen und Getränke warten. Service war nett aber nach einer gewissen Zeit möchte man gerne das haben, was man bestellt hat.

Der Service war nicht nur professionell, sondern herzlich, aufmerksam und bis ins kleinste Detail perfekt organisiert. Wir konnten unseren Tag in vollen Zügen genießen. Das Essen war absolute Spitzenklasse! Ohne Übertreibung das beste, das ich je gegessen habe, jeder Gang ein Highlight, geschmacklich auf höchstem Niveau und wunderschön angerichtet. Unsere Gäste waren genauso begeistert wie wir. Und dann diese Aussicht war einfach atemberaubend! Die Kulisse hat unsere Hochzeit zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht und für unzählige magische Momente gesorgt. Wer eine traumhafte Feier mit perfektem Rundum-Paket sucht, ist hier genau richtig. Wir würden uns jederzeit wieder für Steinmeyer entscheiden, tausend Dank für diesen einzigartigen Tag!

Das Essen war insgesamt sehr lecker und hat uns gut geschmeckt. Die Pommes hätten für unseren Geschmack allerdings noch etwas knuspriger sein können. Die Bedienung war leider nicht ganz unser Fall – sie ist sicherlich speziell und passt nicht zu jedem. Was uns besonders irritiert hat: Uns wurde gesagt, dass bestimmte Getränke nicht verfügbar seien, während die Tische neben uns diese problemlos serviert bekommen haben. Das fanden wir etwas unverständlich. Außerdem sollte man etwas mehr Wartezeit einplanen.

Ein wirklich tolles Restaurant. Wir waren spontan am Wochenende das erste Mal hier und waren sehr begeistert. Die Bedienung war nett, aufmerksam und schnell. Das Essen war ebenfalls sehr lecker, die einzige Kritik die ich zu äußern habe ist, dass die Portion ein kleines wenig größer ausfallen könnte, denn selbst für mich als „schmale“ Frau hätte es noch ein kleines bisschen mehr sein können. Wir kommen aber definitiv öfter wieder!

Neben dem großen Gastraum mit tollem Ausblick gibt es noch ein paar ruhigere, gemütliche Ecken. Der Clou ist natürlich die Terrasse am Südhang des Stuckenbergs, die bei gutem Wetter schnell besetzt ist. Traumhafter Blick über Herford, bei dem Kaffee und Kuchen noch mal so gut schmecken. Parkplatz direkt am Haus. In Herford seit Jahrzehnten eine Institution.

Dort kann man sehr lecker essen mit einem tollen Blick über Herford. Es ist sehr schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Wir waren schon oft dort ob es Veranstaltungen wie das osteressen,gemütliche Abende, Kaffee trinken oder auch eine Trauerfeier war immer war der Service sehr freundlich und lustig und das Essen immer lecker. Steinmeyer gehört für uns zu den besten Locations in Herford. Das Essen war heute Abend wieder fantastisch. Für einige von uns gab es den legendären "Steinmeyer's Filettopf" ....soooo köstlich. Die Soße, das Fleisch, das Gemüse, alles unglaublich lecker. Andere hatten Schnitzel, mit oder ohne Champignons. Köstlich! 👌🏻🥰😋 Unsere Servicekräfte, z. B. Kai und auch alle weiteren Mitarbeiterinnen und Mitarbeiter, kennen wir seit sehr vielen Jahren... das spricht für Steinmeyer, hier sind die Mitarbeiter seit Jahrzehnten da. Da meine ursprüngliche Bewertung auf Wunsch des Besitzers gelöscht, nach meinem Einspruch aber wiederhergestellt wurde, möchte ich meine Bewertung etwas ausführlicher gestalten. Ich besuche dieses Lokal seit 25 Jahren mehrmals jährlich, immer für Familienfeiern. Es ist ein klassisches Ausflugslokal mit einem beeindruckenden Blick über Herford und die Hügel von Ostwestfalen. Stil und Einrichtung stammen aus den 1950er- und 1960er-Jahren: sauber, etwas altmodisch, nichts Besonderes, aber auch nicht billig. Es gibt einige große Räume für Feiern. Das Essen ist durchschnittlich, also nicht herausragend, aber auch nicht schlecht. Deutsche Küche bedeutet Fleisch mit Kartoffeln und Gemüse. Fisch gibt es meist als Lachs oder Zander (auf der aktuellen Speisekarte steht Kabeljau, daher bin ich mir hier nicht ganz sicher). Vegetarische Option sind Gnocchi, die Gemüsebeilagen waren tiefgefroren (also nicht frisch), vegane Optionen gab es nicht. Wir haben Veganer in der Familie, die sich immer selbst versorgen mussten. Das allein ist nicht unbedingt ein Kritikpunkt, aber es gibt nicht einmal die Möglichkeit, Hafermilch für den Kaffee zu wählen. Bei unserem letzten Besuch war der Service nicht mehr so ​​gut wie früher, eher langsamer und nicht ganz zufriedenstellend. (Ich schließe die jungen und scheinbar neuen Kellnerinnen und Kellner ausdrücklich aus, da wir alle einmal anfangen mussten.) Mir ist bewusst, wie schwierig es ist, gutes Personal zu finden, und ich denke, ein freundlicheres Arbeitsumfeld könnte helfen. Kellner in Hörweite der Gäste anzuschreien, trägt sicherlich nicht dazu bei. Alles in allem halte ich 3 von 5 Sternen für angemessen und keinesfalls abwertend. Ein klassisches Restaurant ohne Schnickschnack, mit toller Aussicht bei gutem Wetter. Gut geeignet für größere Gruppen. Die Preise sind nicht zu hoch, aber man könnte für den Preis etwas mehr Frische erwarten. Mein Vorschlag: Mehr vegetarische/vegane Gerichte anbieten, Ladestationen für Elektrofahrzeuge aufstellen und die Speisekarte etwas aufpeppen.

Der Service top, freundliche Mitarbeiter und eine sehr gute Küche. Beim Essen kann man bei schönem Wetter weit gucken. Ein Biergarten ist auch vorhanden. Parkplatz ist vorhanden.

We actually just wanted coffee and cake, but we were a bit late, around 5:15 p.m. They hesitated for a moment, but then finally cleared a table for us so we could at least order hot drinks. There was no cake available, though, which is understandable at that time of day. Still, I have to say, we didn't really feel welcome after a long walk in the forest. Perhaps it's better to dress up a bit on Sunday evenings and make a dinner reservation right away. A quick note: card payments are only accepted for €20 or more.

The food was okay, but the service was poor, with long waits despite reservations. Almost two hours for the overpriced main course. The restaurant was completely overbooked. The organization was unacceptable. Never again!

Everything was great... we didn't have a reservation, so the wait was absolutely fine.

Restaurant in a very beautiful location. We've been here for lunch, dinner, and coffee and cake. We've never been disappointed. The food was always good. The service was friendly and attentive. The restaurant is worth a visit. We only reserved a table for dinner. Reservations are recommended, though. From there, you can walk to the Bismarck Tower (about 500 meters, but it's quite steep).

The view from the beer garden toward the Teutoburg Forest is beautiful. The service was very attentive, friendly, and competent. The food was good, and the prices were reasonable.

We arrived for lunch on Sunday afternoon, in a lovely outdoor area under the trees. Unfortunately, when we ordered, we were told there would be a 1.5 hour wait for the food!?!? Unbelievable, we cut the visit short.

We spontaneously stopped by the restaurant yesterday. It's beautiful outside on the terrace, and you have a magnificent view. We were kindly informed that several family celebrations were taking place and that we would have to wait a long time if we wanted something to eat. With the beautiful weather and the view, it wasn't a problem. The wait was worth it, because the food was excellent. We'd love to come back next time we're in the area!

Unfortunately, we didn't even get the menu. Not recommended. One star is unfortunately too many, because even after informing us that we couldn't even get the menu, there was no apology from the service staff. A real shame.

The ox cheeks and the beef fillet steak were to die for. We especially like the sauces/jus. The service was really top. The dessert, creme brulee, was very disappointing. The cappuccino wasn't really good either. The fried potatoes weren't crispy either. Would come again because the main courses themselves were very good.

Went there to celebrate our gold wedding anniversary on November 2nd, 2024. Advice beforehand: five stars, simply great. The food was very good and every one of my guests said that, so five stars. Feel free to go to Steinmeyer. The view, the food and the service are top. Of course you can be unlucky and sometimes it takes a while when there is a lot of traffic, but where is that not the case? If you have something to criticize about the food or the service, you should do so directly and, above all, objectively. I am sure that a solution that is satisfactory for everyone can then be found. During my visits I never had the feeling that there was a two-class society among the guests. But perhaps everyone feels differently. Reserved a table at 8 p.m. on Saturday evening when the weather was great. Everything went like clockwork. Time to have a chat with the waiter and everything was timed perfectly.

It's the nicest restaurant in the area. We love coming here so often, not just because of the perfect view, but also because of the wonderful service and the most delicious food. Kai Gingersen in particular always serves us very courteously. A guarantee for wonderful evenings for two or with dear friends!

We would like to praise the host (the Pohlmann family and their employees). No matter when we come, whether with family or friends, we are always warmly welcomed. It's not just the food that stands still in time. It used to be a good, creative restaurant and today it's just a place for culinary eaters of all kinds: "If the farmer doesn't know it, he won't eat it." Here you are stuck in time and there is nothing new or creative anymore. Every other restaurant can and does it better. Especially when it comes to veggi/vegan, it's more of a tragedy here. A burger that is available everywhere and a chili are more of a train station canteen than good craftsmanship. What used to be good quality steaks are now poor, cheap products that everyone can make better at home. The only thing that is still changing with the times here, and hopefully soon, is the service. Apart from the fact that it is ridiculous that the main problem for the catastrophic service is that Kai Ginersen praises himself as a "professional service person" like God in order to dismiss mistakes, rudeness and even criticism from the guests, and rates himself here. The now senior manager has also stood still in time and continues to pass on her “reputation” to all guests with all honor. I recommend that the lady complete training as a restaurant specialist before she wants to run a restaurant. Arrogance, rudeness & unprofessional are more like compliments here. Furthermore, sometimes less is more! It is better to accept fewer guests in order to be able to serve the existing guests better. But here, unfortunately, you can't get your head full enough, much to the chagrin of all the guests (unless you drive your Porsche straight into the front door). Rich regulars are the most important thing here and are allowed to do anything. Conclusion: We will no longer visit this restaurant as a family. We would rather turn down wedding/birthday invitations than accept something like that. But any criticism is ignored here anyway because it is something “better”. -1/5 stars

It says a lot about a restaurant when its employees have to give positive reviews to counteract all the negative things of late. Kai Gingersen himself works in service there and now gives a 5 star rating. Short summary of this restaurant: Senior chef without words, there is a lot going wrong on a psychological level. Service bad, you can tell the bad mood in the team. Food was way too overpriced for what was offered, there were guests at a party recently, it was beyond words. 1 star is still too much. The boss is snarky, the old men in service are cheeky, the young people in service have no experience whatsoever. Endless waiting times, food is limited for a very high price and the question of whether you can still get some meat is not well received. The ambience is ok, the view is nice, but that alone is not enough. Food itself was ok, but nothing special and not recommended for the price. I really can't advise anyone to celebrate there, we were very disappointed with the overall package. And the fact that your own waiter is now giving reviews is more than cheeky. Conclusion: Never again

Restaurant Steinmeyer is always our first choice if you want to eat out in the Herford district and the surrounding area. It starts with the warm welcome from the service team, which is really attentive, friendly, humorous and quick. The food, whether it's the starters, main courses or desserts, is always of top quality and extremely tasty. Of course, wait if you want it freshly prepared and if it's full, you should bring some time, and if you don't have time you should go to a snack bar 😁😁😁. It was a terrible experience. We were at Steinmeyer to celebrate my grandfather's birthday, who turned 89. We had to wait over 1.5 hours for the food. Unfortunately, we had to learn how arrogant and rude the waiters were to us. As a regular customer it might be nice to be cheered there, but you can clearly see a sense of favoriteism and as a mere mortal it is a very unpleasant atmosphere. The quantity is saved so much that you still have to order a pizza at home. Apart from the view, unfortunately I can only advise against it, or hope that the waiters finally retire.

Was with my girlfriend and a good friend, very nice service. Everything came quickly even though it was completely full. The staff take their time with the guests and are very friendly. The food is amazing, my steak is super tender and to the point. Always my pleasure....

Unfortunately it was a total failure for our son's baptism. On Sunday, August 25th We celebrated our son's baptism with the Pohlmann family in the Waldrestaurant Steinmeyer. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. But let's start with the positive: The service at the table was nice, polite and honest, and the taste of the food was okay. Now to the negative: It all started on Saturday evening when we received a call at 10:35 p.m. We wanted to make sure again whether the number of people would remain the same and whether we would like to sit inside or outside. Apart from the fact that I find the time of day to call before a baptism absolutely inappropriate, my wife was already there at 5 p.m. on the same day to drop off decorations. My wife once again confirmed the number of people and our desire to sit outside. On Sunday we were there on time at the agreed time. After all the guests had arrived and we had waited in vain for another 10 minutes for the agreed champagne reception, I went in to register. Answer from the senior manager: “Yes, we have seen that they are already there”. After several more minutes, champagne, orange juice, etc. were slowly toasted. The starter was served quite quickly and was nicely presented. Unfortunately, the Rösti, on which the slice of smoked salmon was draped, was only frozen goods. It took a lot of time before the main course. About 45 minutes after the appetizer plates were cleared, my wife went into the restaurant to ask how long it would take, since the company was slowly becoming hungry. The waiter politely apologized, but unfortunately it would take a while. Finally the main course arrived, as suggested by the restaurant, served on large platters on the table. Since it was very windy, it would have been a good idea to have glasses or warming plates. The pieces of meat and the gratin were very limited, and since no one from the staff checked to see if anything was missing, I went back into the restaurant and asked the senior manager to bring us some more meat. “I’ll come out and see what you’re still missing” was the answer. After a quick glance over our tables, the lady went back without saying a word. After another 20 minutes of waiting, the waitress came and brought more meat and gratin. Unfortunately, half of the pork medallions were still completely raw, so the remaining medallions went back to the kitchen. After another wait, the “recooked” meat arrived. Since the first croquettes were now cold (they had been on the table for 30 minutes), new croquettes arrived. Unfortunately, these were no longer eaten because no more sauce was brought. Apparently the boss's scrutiny said that we didn't need any more sauce. It seemed like it had taken an eternity until dessert. After waiting for a while, I went back in and asked if our guests could get coffee, espresso, etc. at about the same time as dessert. Comment from the junior boss: “I’ll send someone over to take the order.” No sooner said than done, but dessert arrived at the same time as the waiter who wanted to take orders for 21 coffee drinks. This could neither melt nor get warm or cold and could have been kept in the kitchen for a few minutes to give the counter time to prepare the warm drinks. Apart from the fact that the dessert (three types of mousse) should have been placed on one plate per person as agreed, instead several large plates were carelessly placed on the tables on which there were small bowls with the desserts. For around €80 per person, my wife and I actually imagined something completely different.
