Restaurant Schloss Lüntenbeck in Wuppertal

Yesterday, six of us were here for the second time and we were unfortunately disappointed! The first time, everything was great! But now... We were seated on the first floor, which was okay! When our drinks were served, my husband was given a different beer than the one he ordered, and when we asked, we were told that they didn't serve the local beer up here, even though it was on the menu! A note when ordering would have been appropriate! Now for the food, which has always been excellent! My friend got veal schnitzel that was paper-thin and tasted only of breadcrumbs! And it only came with less than a handful of fried potatoes, and the side salad was so sour that she couldn't eat it! My other friend's sauce was tasteless! I ordered spaghetti with prawns, and the prawns were very good, but the spaghetti was dry, there was hardly any sauce, and it was overcooked! I was very disappointed because the last time the dish was much better! We complained about all of this to the very friendly waiter, and as consolation, we ladies each received an espresso on the house! The waiter's response to our complaints was: "The chef must be too busy." 😡 The fact is: We'll be eating somewhere else in the future! What a shame!!!

Beautiful ambiance in the castle courtyard. A magnificent backdrop. A good selection from the menu. The friendliness of the service (not all of them) leaves much to be desired.

The waiters were super nice. If we or our table neighbors were missing something, they told us "this will come separately," even if it came together for other orders. It wasn't so bad, since everything came later. You just had to point it out. The food was okay, not spectacular, but not bad either. The mango sorbet was extremely delicious. The atmosphere is very nice! And it gets more and more cozy in the evening.

The beautiful Lüntenbeck Castle has recently become a party hotspot for weddings in the summer. While you might want to enjoy your meal in the courtyard, whether at lunch or dinner, you often have to endure eerie music. Weddings sometimes take place every two hours, and the brides meet in the courtyard. After dinner, you can't stretch your legs in the castle garden because you might disturb the wedding guests. No more exclusivity! What a shame!

Somewhat smaller portions compared to other top restaurants. Preparation, service, and overall food were quite mediocre. I won't be returning...

Long waits and the smell of toilets in the beer garden are certainly bearable for a while given the great atmosphere, but unfortunately, feeling unwelcome isn't. When the tip wasn't forthcoming, the unprofessional return carriage didn't even offer a friendly farewell.

Pike-perch fillet with sauerkraut. Unusual, but delicious and appealing. Even the mashed potatoes were beautifully and subtly seasoned. A daily special. Attentive and relaxed service. Highly recommended.

We were fortunate enough to be able to celebrate our wedding at this stunningly beautiful location – and it was simply perfect! From the very first contact, the communication was incredibly friendly, professional, and welcoming. The entire organization ran smoothly, and we felt well looked after at all times. We were particularly impressed by how individually our wishes were addressed. Everything was implemented with great attention to detail and exceeded our expectations. Our guests were thrilled with the atmosphere, and we were able to enjoy our big day to the fullest. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team – you made our wedding day unforgettable! We definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for a special location!

We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary with family and friends over lunch in the tower room of Lüntenbeck Castle. The venue perfectly matched our expectations. The tables were beautifully set and decorated. After the obligatory glass of Prosecco to welcome us, all guests enjoyed the delicious antipasti of Irish ox cheeks and, to finish, a chocolate soufflé with ice cream. Special mention should be made of the friendly and professional service, which was unfazed even by toddlers. We would like to thank the entire restaurant team for our successful, small family celebration. It wasn't the last time we dined there. We heard the same from our guests.

After having a fantastic evening at Lüntenbeck Castle with nine friends visiting me from South Africa, I decided to celebrate my birthday at Lüntenbeck Castle with fifty friends. It quickly became clear that this was the right decision. What Tim Lipke – a guarantor of the success of large events – and his excellently trained staff offered us was exemplary. The cold and hot buffet left nothing to be desired. The same was true of the table decorations, which were tastefully and lovingly arranged and thus a true feast for the eyes. It was an unforgettably beautiful evening that was extremely well received by all my guests. My thanks, and those of my guests, to restaurant manager Tim Lipke, whose gastronomic expertise and knowledge ensured I was treated to a wonderful birthday celebration! Thanks also to the show pianist Sascha Klaar, who provided musical accompaniment to the celebration with blues, jazz, and rock 'n' roll and gave the dance enthusiasts the opportunity to make Lüntenbeck Castle shake.

An hour before the end of the lunch menu, the lunch dish (Sauerbraten) was no longer available, despite a table reservation for 4 people. The ox cheeks as a substitute dish were anything but tasty. Never again !

One of the two bosses is so unfriendly that you feel like you're bothering him. This severely affects the service and the actually wonderful ambience because the feeling of well-being is significantly reduced - we often think about not going there because of this. That's a shame because the other boss, the team and the food are great and deserve 5 stars! 😌

Very cozy restaurant. Lunch is unbeatable in terms of price/performance

Yes, it's nothing special, but I can still recommend it with reservations.

We've eaten at the Schloss Lüntenbeck restaurant a few times now. The ambience and prices always gave us high expectations, but neither the food nor the service was really convincing. From the menu you can't really tell what kind of dish you are actually ordering. There are large variations in portion size within the same price category. This can probably be explained by the use of goods, but the result is that sometimes you just don't get enough or get your money's worth. It can't be that the goose leg is a huge meal, but the vegetarian pasta dish turns out to be so precisely counted that the vegetarian at the table sits there disappointed with an empty plate after about 5 minutes. Main courses are main courses and not starters... I've eaten better and more balanced meals in other restaurants (even for less money). Unfortunately, the ambience doesn't quite capture everything. Regarding the service: It's always a mixed experience. Of course, we have had friendly and attentive service, but unfortunately the responsibility seems to change constantly, which is why mix-ups and confusion often occur over the course of the meal. The food doesn't always come at the same time and is sometimes only lukewarm to cold... You would expect something totally exclusive here, but you usually go home only half-sated and slightly disappointed.

The atmosphere was terrific. An old “Schloss” converted into a restaurant. Very happy with the food and service!

We were there on Christmas Day. Were greeted very attentively and nicely. The service was also very friendly. Unfortunately we had to return both the starter and the main course as the food was cold. The taste of the food was ok. Prices are relatively high in my opinion. Waiters could be a little more attentive when it comes to drinks and clearing tables. I found the stairs very annoying; they are used by both the guests and the waiters and creak very loudly. I found it annoying while eating. Overall, it was a lovely evening with the family. But you don't have to eat there again. However, the ambience cannot be beat.

Delicious food, good service, great ambience.

The Schloss Lüntenbeck restaurant impresses with its unique ambience, which impresses with a great mix of rustic charm and a relaxed atmosphere. Here you immediately feel at home and can leave everyday life behind. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating, you will always be warmly welcomed. The dishes are of the highest quality, lovingly prepared and taste a real highlight. The prices are absolutely reasonable, which rounds off the overall experience perfectly. In addition, the expanded knight's hall is available in the upper area. This offers a spacious, cozy room that ideally complements the restaurant's space. A small suggestion for improvement: The attentiveness of the waiters, especially when it comes to serving drinks, could be increased a little. In addition, on-site parking spaces are limited, which is why it is advisable to arrive in good time. Overall, Lüntenbeck Castle is still highly recommended – a wonderful place for a special restaurant visit!

Great food, fair prices, nice team

We dined on a Wednesday evening, the ambience was great, the service was very friendly and attentive. Our dishes from the daily menu, a tuna carpaccio as a starter and a sea bream fillet for the main course, were perfect!

Restaurant in Lüntenbeck Castle in the western part of Wuppertal. Very friendly service, small but nice menu. The price is a little higher, but due to the quality offered it can be described as inexpensive. Table reservations are strongly recommended. We were there with a small group of friends and everyone was very happy. This will not be the only visit.

We had our wedding dinner there on a Wednesday with a party of 14 people. Unfortunately, the start was very bumpy because we stood in front of closed doors for a quarter of an hour, the reason: the coffee machine was broken. So we waited outside the door with the company in the drizzle and 17 degrees (seating was accordingly wet). Unfortunately, the discussed process was not followed (we had a preliminary discussion about the process, map/menu) etc. over 1.5 hours, so from our point of view it was surprising that nothing discussed and noted was implemented correctly. In addition, the small hall was not decorated any differently than usual (except for white napkins), although this was announced by the restaurant management (but it didn't bother us much). The quality of the food was great, the portions are very small, but three courses fill you up.

We were there at lunchtime in wonderful weather and were able to sit outside, it was very nice, we liked the atmosphere. We were able to place our order quickly, it took a while before the starter arrived and at the same time the dish we ordered. We hadn't had any drinks yet, they came when we were almost finished. It's a shame, that's not how we imagined it. The service definitely needs improvement.

We were outside once and had dinner in the restaurant yesterday - the difference to our stay outside was big. We didn't feel well served in the restaurant. There was a lack of attention and polite service. The same food tasted different. The price was reasonable. We will come again. Rokiah Jonack

Ambiance wedding ceremony in the castle. We felt comfortable, everything played along, even the weather. Thanks to everyone in the service, we would be happy to come back, even without a wedding

The reception was friendly and, since we had reserved, we were shown straight to our table in the fireplace room. It's a cozy space. Even though every table in this room was occupied, the noise wasn't so loud that you had to shout at each other. We were able to converse at a comfortable volume. As a starter I had a strong and delicious tomato soup. Afterwards there was a medium rump steak with a tasty cognac pepper cream sauce and fried potatoes. The steak was medium rare and the sauce was great. For dessert I treated myself to the “Cassa” ice cream and finally a good espresso. I paid a total of around 60 euros for my menu, including drinks. Everything was very good and an overall lovely evening. The very good service, which was very friendly, helpful and attentive, also contributed to this. Many thanks to the entire team for the lovely evening.

We have been regular guests in the castle restaurant for a year. It's always nice with you, you feel welcome no matter how stressful it is ❤️. The food is always world class! If you have the chance to eat veal liver then do it, I have never eaten better 👌.

Pleasant stay in the fireplace room. The service was good. The food takes a bit of getting used to, especially there is a lack of high quality vegetarian dishes. There were three of us and we each ordered a different dish, but everything had the same salad. We'll definitely find another good restaurant in Wuppertal.

I was in the restaurant with my husband for lunch, unfortunately our expectations of enjoying an appealing and delicious lunch were not met. The French fries were hot but not cooked through, the breading of the cordon bleu was unfortunately very greasy and the presentation of the plate was pretty poor . We probably won't come back.

We had a wonderful Christmas dinner with the family. Food, service, ambience, everything was excellent.

In terms of ambience, a 10/10 Service was very heterogeneous: Ms. Lippke was friendly and tried very hard, the one gentleman in service didn't say hello and was visibly annoyed when asked. The food is good, not fancy but good. Unfortunately, cow's milk allergy was not taken into account, at least the agreement between the kitchen and service did not work.

The food and service were really good. But the small room (with the fireplace) was extremely crowded and the noise was unbearable. Even two people could hardly have a conversation. It's a real shame that Villa Foresta no longer exists. She had much more charm!!!

I've eaten better in simpler surroundings. I even get fries on the table fresh and crispy. Meat too.

Wir waren gestern zum Gänseessen im Schloß Lüntenbeck. Es war wirklich klasse, Brust und Keule sehr lecker,Service Top,Preise angemessen. Liebevoll gestaltetes Ambiente.

Ich war schon einmal dort als es noch den ehemaligen Besitzer gab. Das Ambiente hat sich nicht geändert und ist ok. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Den einen Stern im Gesamten ziehe ich nur ab, weil die Dessertkarte wenig zu bieten hat, und das was drauf ist, doch recht teuer ist, für dass was angeboten wird. Lecker war es trotzdem. Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend und schnell.

Einfach nur Klasse, hier stimmen Service, Ambiente, Geschmack und Freundlichkeit einfach Perfekt !!

Unser erster Abend im Restaurant Schloss Lüntenbeck. Das Essen war sehr gut und für diese Qualität sehr günstig. Wir waren rundum zufrieden.

Schönes und uriges Restaurant mit wechselnder Speisekarte. Im Sommer großer Biergarten im Schloßhof. Wir waren schon öfters hier und sind nie enttäuscht worden. Rechtzeitige Tisch-Reservierung empfohlen.

Ein phantastisches Essen in schöner Umgebung!

Wir waren längere Zeit nicht in diesem Restaurant. Es hat nach wie vor ein tolles, romantisches Ambiente! Service und Essen waren super. Da werden wir sicherlich nochmals einkehren.

Sehr schönes Ambiente, sehr guter Service aufmerksam und Zuvorkommend super Beratung der verschiedenen Gerichte und Weine. Für jemanden/Gruppen oder Pärchen die eine Auszeit suchen und Ruhe haben möchten, kann ich es nur empfehlen. Es lädt echt zum verweilen ein man fühlt sich wie zu Hause. Preisleistung ist sehr Angemessen wir werden auf jedenfall wiederkommen und das Restaurant weiterempfehlen. Nicht zu vergessen echt guter Kaffee und Dessert. Vielen Dank an das gesamte Team. Für den schönen Mittag.

Der Empfang war sehr freundlich. Das Essen sehr schmackhaft. Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und aufmerksam.

Basierend auf unserem Besuch am 25. August zu viert: wunderbar! Alle Gerichte von hoher Qualität und sehr schmackhaft, stets aufmerksamer und freundlicher Service, überaus angenehme Einrichtung in besonderer Lokation. Preise sehr (sehr!) angemessen. Alle äußerst zufrieden! Insofern nicht der letzte Besuch.

Wir haben bei bestem Wetter draußen gesessen und das einzigartige Ambiente des Schloßhofs genossen. Es waren fast alle Plätze um 18:30h besetzt. Reservierung ist daher angeraten. Trotzdem wurden wir umgehend bedient und die Getränke kamen ebenso zügig. Das bestellte Essen kam nach angemessener Wartezeit und entsprach vollständig unseren Erwartungen an eine gehobene Gastronomie. Alles war optisch und geschmacklich perfekt- die Portionen waren ausreichend groß und somit fair bemessen. Das Preis/ Leistungsverhältnis entsprach ebenfalls unseren Erwartungen. Unbedingt zu erwähnen wäre noch die aufmerksame und ausgesprochen freundliche Servicecrew. In Summe waren wir sehr zufrieden und kommen sicher bei Gelegenheit wieder.

Wir haben draußen gesessen und den aufmerksamen Service, das schöne Ambiente und die schmackhaften Speisen genossen. Angesichts der Qualität der eingesetzten Komponenten sind die Preise voll ok.

Sehr schön gelegen. Die Mitarbeiter sind sehr bemüht.Preis/Leistung ist für mich nicht in Ordnung. Bei mir waren die Schweinefiletspitzen zäh...Ansonsten alles sehr übersichtlich.

Tolles Ambiente. Essen war aber im gesamten nur Durchschnitt. Service könnte Aufmerksamer, Freundlicher und auch besser auf die Gerichte geschult sein. Wir kommen trotzdem wieder, vielleicht war das nur ein schlechter Tag.

Sehr ansprechende Location, schön zum draußen sitzen und essen. Leckeres Essen, die Portionen teilweise, nicht bei allen Gerichten, sehr übersichtlich. Das könnte wirklich etwas mehr sein. Die Bedienung würde ich mir nächstes Mal aufmerksamer wünschen. Aber trotzdem nettes Lokal.

Sehr leckere Liebevoll angerichtete Gerichte mit einem Super Service

Wunderschön gelegen, hübsches Ambiente, a b e r einiges ist schief gelaufen. Bis zur Aufnahme der Essensbestellung verging schon mal richtig viel Zeit, wurden wir vergessen? Nein, es war einfach viel zu tun. Darüber kann man hinwegsehen. Von 11 bestellten Gerichten kamen nach einer knappen Stunde zwei an den Tisch, eines passte zu unserer Bestellung, das zweite Gericht hatte jedoch niemand bestellt. Der jungen Servicekraft fiel auf, dass diverse Vorspeisenteller noch nicht abgeräumt waren. Somit war es schwierig an dem ohnehin sehr engen Tisch weiteres zu servieren. Ich merkte an, dass die beiden Teller, die sie an unserem Tisch servieren wollte, evtl. für einen anderen Tisch bestimmt sein könnten, da ja niemand von uns Lachs bestellt hatte. Das Schnitzel mit Spargel wurde bei uns abgestellt, der Lachs ging zurück, dann folgten zwei weitere Gerichte, die an unserem Tisch bestellt wurden. 4 Gerichte von 11 waren nun da, es vergingen einige Minuten und da wir gemeinsam essen wollten, hatte noch niemand von den 4 bereits servierten Tellern angefangen zu essen. Nach ca. 10 Minuten kam die junge Kellnerin und sagte, sie hätte sich verlaufen, die 4 Gerichte wurden wieder abgeräumt. Auf welchem Tisch diese Speisen, die nun schon 10 Minuten bei uns auf dem Tisch gestanden hatten, nun landeten, entzieht sich meiner Kenntnis. Ich hoffe nur, dass mein Teller nicht schon einige Zeit vor einem fremden Gast gestanden hat. Irgendwann hatten aber auch wir an unserem großen Tisch alle die richtige Speise vor uns stehen, das Essen war wirklich lecker. Später zum Dessert wurde ich gefragt, ob ich meinen Espresso gerne zum Eis haben möchte, ja sehr gerne, sagte ich. Als alle Desserts serviert waren, fehlte nur mein Espresso, ich fragte kurz nach und die Servicekraft antwortete: Ja, bringe ich sofort, ich habe nur zwei Hände! Hätte sie nur gesagt, ja bringe ich sofort, wäre alles ok gewesen, aber dieser patzige Ton hat mir nicht gefallen, es ist sehr unprofessionell dem Gast zu sagen, man hätte nur 2 Hände. Das war einfach nur unpassend. Ich hatte den Eindruck, der Espresso war in dem Moment kurz vergessen worden, wie auch noch zuvor bestellte Butter oder ein weiteres Weinglas. Kann alles passieren, ich kenne die Gastronomie, aber die Freundlichkeit gegenüber dem Gast darf auch bei vollem Hause konstant bleiben. In Summe lief es nicht wirklich rund heute, es wurde zu keiner Zeit mal kurz bemerkt, dass es heute evtl. etwas länger dauert, bis das Essen serviert wird. Ein kurzer Hinweis vom Personal wäre doch irgendwie nett gewesen. Dann kann man sich darauf einstellen. Die schöne Location, das durchaus leckere Essen und der doch sehr holprige Service passten für mich nicht ganz zusammen.

Uns hat die Preis-/Leistung einfach nicht überzeugt. Das Kalbsschnitzel war geschmacklich bestenfalls durchschnittlich und die Bedienung hätte gerne etwas aufmerksamer sein können. Das Ambiente hat uns jedoch sehr gut gefallen Wir schieben es mal auf die Anlaufschwierigkeiten aufgrund der Neueröffnung. Eventuell bessert es sich ja in wenigen Monaten

Wir waren immer Gäste der Villa Foresta und hofften hier die gleiche Küche zu finden. Leider kann die Küche nicht mithalten. Preislich etwas teurer, aber geschmacklich leider nur durchschnittlich. Schade.
