The food is delicious. Always worth a visit.

We were loyal customers at Spicy Elberfeld for a long time, but the current performance is a huge disappointment. Another annoyance arose yesterday: A doner salad contained vinegar instead of the requested cocktail sauce, making it inedible. The bag also leaked completely. Another salad barely contained any yogurt sauce; it seemed dry and unloved. This isn't the first time such blunders have occurred. In the past, they relied on good quality here, but now everything seems sloppy and indifferent. When a restaurant disappoints loyal customers so often, it's no surprise that they eventually stop coming back.

Yesterday, six of us were here for the second time and we were unfortunately disappointed! The first time, everything was great! But now... We were seated on the first floor, which was okay! When our drinks were served, my husband was given a different beer than the one he ordered, and when we asked, we were told that they didn't serve the local beer up here, even though it was on the menu! A note when ordering would have been appropriate! Now for the food, which has always been excellent! My friend got veal schnitzel that was paper-thin and tasted only of breadcrumbs! And it only came with less than a handful of fried potatoes, and the side salad was so sour that she couldn't eat it! My other friend's sauce was tasteless! I ordered spaghetti with prawns, and the prawns were very good, but the spaghetti was dry, there was hardly any sauce, and it was overcooked! I was very disappointed because the last time the dish was much better! We complained about all of this to the very friendly waiter, and as consolation, we ladies each received an espresso on the house! The waiter's response to our complaints was: "The chef must be too busy." 😡 The fact is: We'll be eating somewhere else in the future! What a shame!!!
