Restaurant Rila in München

I recently went to Rila Restaurant and absolutely loved it! The food is fresh, delicious and prepared with a lot of love - just like in Bulgaria. The grilled specialties and homemade starters are particularly recommended. The staff is friendly, attentive and makes you feel at home straight away. The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, perfect for a relaxed evening with family or friends. If you love Bulgarian cuisine or want to get to know it, you've come to the right place! I'll definitely be back.

This is a MUST GO place whilst in Munich. Delicious Bulgarian Cuisine, all the drinks you desire and an outstanding, heartwarming atmosphere! The owners are always there to see to their guests' needs and once you've been you will always go back!

It was a pleasant dinner and a nice surprise to discover bulgarian cuisine. The place is cosy and the portions are very generous. Price in range with rest of restaurants in Munich (25€ pp)

A wonderful dinner! I had never tried Bulgarian cuisine, so I booked this place to experience something different than usual. My partner and I first shared the "meze", or mixed appetizers. Apart from the very nice presentation (a tall tray arrives filled with jars and containers of various types, really beautiful to look at), it was truly an excellent choice: sauces, cured meats, halloumi, bread, giardiniera perfect for starting the day off in the best possible way. dinner. As the main course we chose one of the traditional dishes, namely the Vreteno. It is a chicken breast stuffed with dried tomatoes and cheese with grilled courgettes and Jerusalem artichoke and pumpkin puree. This is also very good. We also took a bottle of Bulgarian wine, Mavrud. Long story short, it was a wonderful dinner and I definitely think I'll be back to try other dishes on the menu. Aside from the gastronomic aspect, I also really appreciated the welcome in the place. They make you feel like a long-standing customer who deserves attention.

We have visited Rila many times, and we have always left very satisfied and deliciously fed! The owners are very warm-hearted people and will always treat you with the best feasts! Don't miss being in Munich and don't eat here!

Extremely disappointing experience! The food was horribly greasy and way overpriced. Everything was drenched in oil, which made it almost inedible. To make matters worse, the salad had silt in it, which is completely unacceptable. What's even more frustrating is that we still left a tip. We ordered vegetarian options, so that might have contributed, but it still doesn't excuse the poor quality. Whoever was on aux slayed though.

Everything is very good, loud music doesn't necessarily have to be the case. Great food and service, nice crowd.

I walked around the English Garden on a leisurely Sunday. I wanted to try Bulgarian food for lunch, so I googled this restaurant. When I entered, the waiter was very friendly and greeted me, and enthusiastically introduced me to recommended dishes when I asked. The recommended lamb leg stew is really delicious! The meat is soft and tender without any mutton smell, and the stew on the bottom mixed with cheese is also quite delicious. It is the best food I have eaten during this week of business trip. I am very happy to find such a great restaurant. I will visit again next time I have the opportunity to travel to Munich~ The LAMMHAXE tasted really good! Thanks for a good recommendation. 😄😄😄

Having recently been to Bulgaria and loved the food, I was keen to try out this local restaurant and wasn’t disappointed! It’s a little more expensive than other places in the area, but the food was lovely.

Was on a work trip, and hadn’t eaten Bulgarian in several years and it was really delicious(I would even say better than what I have eaten in Bulgaria when I was there a few years back). The place was very pleasant and the owner was very extremely nice. Very good find.

I think this may have been the best pork I've ever had in my life. I had the shashlick. Wow! Amazing! The sausage was very good too, but the pork was incredible. I think it was the spice rub, but it may also have been the cut of meat. It was flawless. We are now planning a trip to Bulgaria to see if we can recreate this meal.

Wow, the meal feels so rich when it is served. It is hard to imagine that it is a meal for 2 people. The CP value is very high. The taste is quite strong and the meat is very soft. Be sure to order their beer and try the taste from different breweries. The whole thing tastes delicious. Because it was so delicious, I accidentally overate it again, and now my stomach feels bloated. Mamma Mia~ Coming to Germany to enjoy food from different countries is also a good food trip. I look forward to giving it a try with the locals. By the way, the boss and employees are very enthusiastic, remember to chat with them more.

We had a very good dinner here! The portion size is great, so you can also have a starter or a dessert without bursting 😅 The service was super friendly. The food came quickly. The local itself is also really nice. It's easy to sit outside, even though you're sitting on the street, as there was virtually nothing going on on the street.

Food very tasty, portions are large, prices for what is on offer and the location is clearly okay. Good food and beer but not that great service and atmosphere.

Very bad how the operators (sitting, drinking wine) chased the poor but very committed waiter around on a Saturday evening all by themselves and from above without actually getting up themselves. We're not really demanding, but unfortunately the food doesn't correspond to the slightly exorbitant price. Affordable quality greets you.

I was lucky because I found one of my favorite restaurants in the city and loved the cuisine. I have been here several times now and I can guarantee that it is always a delicious meal and a great setting. The service is always top notch, especially Valentina. She takes good care of you and gives 100%. You won't find that anywhere else in Munich! Apart from all the food, in terms of alcohol, I highly recommend Bulgarian wines and of course the traditional rakija, very tasty! 10/10 for everything. I recently visited Munich on business and was pleasantly surprised to find that there is a Bulgarian restaurant. I visited twice during my stay. The food was magnificent and the attitude of the owners very hospitable. However, what I did not see was other Bulgarians. Thousands of Bulgarians live in Munich and I can't explain why they don't visit it. During my stay I visited a Greek and a Turkish restaurant. You can't get away with Greeks and Turks respectively. People support each other far from their homeland. I hope more Bulgarians will read what I wrote and go and eat delicious Bulgarian feasts. And to your lovely family, I want to thank you for the delicious food and I will visit you again on my next business trip.

Really tasty food, with a good variety of options. I had a bean stew with grilled meat and pitta bread, while my wife enjoyed a vegetarian dish with aubergines. If you enjoy Greek or Turkish food, this has some similarities, but it also it has its own individual qualities that you won't find anywhere else. I shall be going back for more!

A solid and friendly restaurant, the food is absolutely ok! It's best to call and reserve. What wasn't so good was the loud music!

This was our first visit to the Bulgarian restaurant. The ambiance is nice and cozy. Meze (appetizer) was very nice and more than enough for 4 people. A friend really liked the beans (Bob &Grill). The other main dishes were way too greasy. Loup de mer, veggies and polenta side were soaked in oil, it was not really edible. Tikalnik was tasty, but also too greasy. Good service.

We celebrated my wife's birthday with couple friends. The atmosphere inside was great and cozy. The portions were very generous. However, the taste of the food does not exactly matches the quality of the restaurant in general. The salt rate was too much in all the dishes, meze platter could have been greatly improved by adding a garlic bread. With that saying, I do not mean the food was bad. It was good but if it can be slightly improved, this restaurant definetely deserves a five star rating.

I am on a medically restricted diet so i had restrictions but what I had - polenta and goat cheese- was brilliant. MY friend ordered a traditional dish and loved it.

It was relaxing eating here. Waiter was very nice and polite. I think the owner was also around when I went there; he’s service oriented, I would say. He came around a couple of times to check if everything was okay. I felt welcomed and would go here again and also recommend. The food was good too 😋

Just had a cup of tea, fine - 5stars for the atmosphere and music -no comment or shocked on more than 20 penny coins received for the sake of card free payment, or not tipping more than 25% -service level is rather less than expected from a student doing part time job, unfriendly unfortunately well, not everyone can be happy:)

Rila was an unexpected find on our trip to Munich and it was the best food we ate by far. My friends and I enjoyed it so much that we bought 3 bottles of the Bulgarian wine to take home to the US and we will recommend this restaurant to anyone traveling to Munich in the future. The sauces were perfectly spiced and the meats were marinated and cooked to perfection.

Sehr leckeres und etwas ausgefallenes Essen. Atmosphäre ist auch Recht gemütlich. Schönes Weinsortiment aus Bulgarien, leider auch recht teuer. Mezze Platte ist auf jeden Fall ein Highlight, wobei auch die vegetarischen Gerichten sehr lecker waren.

Це малесенький сімейний ресторан, який знаходиться на тихій вулиці. Ми прийшли ніби до власників цього закладу додому, настільки там було комфортно, одразу познайомилися із сусідами за столом і замовили їжу. Жінка, яка нас обслуговувала-власник цього закладу, разом із чоловіком вони підходили до кожного та розмовляли і приділяли багато уваги. Нам сказали зачекати, тому що багато замовлень. Коли нам принесли їжу, просто казанок їжі! у нас відняло мову. Ми не розуміли, чому відвідувачі беруть їжу з собою. А тому що там величезні порції і їх нереально з'їсти, а дуже хочеться. Сама страва-це щось нереальне! Це дуже смачно! Декілька видів м'яса, сосиски, картопля. ... Перчик, як вдома❤️ Кабачки я не люблю, але ці кабачки мали просто чудовий смак. Нам принесли фреш із фруктів! Не сік з пачки! А фреш! Дуже смачний, а головне без хімії. Пірленка (якщо написала не вірно виправте мене)-хліб з сіллю та спеціями, був нереально смачним😋 Це перший заклад в якому я їла з такою насолодою, про що я і сказала власниці, після чого вона принесла нам традиційний болгарський алкоголь. Тут найсмачніша їжа, яку я коштувала😋 Це найкомфортніший заклад👐 Я однозначно рекомендую цей ресторан😋 P.S. Так, ми теж не з'їли всю порцію, тому в нас ще й був смачний сніданок😉

The absolute best SCHASCHLIK I've ever had! Portions big enough to feed two people and an owner that welcomes you like you're part of the family. Highly recommended! First time at a Bulgarian restaurant, really nice and cozy atmosphere. The food has unique flavors with very generous portion, especially recommending Bob Grill (the bean dish) and Satch. Overall an amazing experience with friendly services.

Eten was echt heel lekker en bijzonder. Onze ober was super vriendelijk en stond altijd klaar voor vragen of een leuk praatje. Het restaurant is klein maar door de inrichting heel huiselijk en gezellig. Aanrader!

I’m not a red wine drinker but the Bulgarian wine was phenomenal and the service was great food was great (I got the snatch for two and all the meats were so good) the food is filling and tasty. intimate place with cool vibe. Perfect place to enjoy drinks with friends or go on a romantic date.
