No matter what - everything's great!

We arrived spontaneously without a reservation, but that wasn't a problem at all. We were offered a table anyway. The staff was very friendly and attentive. The ambiance is rather rustic, which we found very fitting. We didn't have to wait long for either our drinks or our food. The food was delicious, and the value for money was excellent. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely come back.

It was very, very welcoming and delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't even get close to eating everything. This was the first restaurant we visited after arriving in Munich, and we were very impressed by how quickly, deliciously, and freshly the food was prepared. Highly recommended. There were 12 of us and we didn't have a reservation. Nevertheless, we received a very friendly welcome and excellent service from start to finish! The food was AMAZING, and so were the cocktails!

We were very well taken care of. We went 3 times during our stay. The best food we ate in Munich, for a great price. Generously served dishes, fast and friendly service. The Schnitzel with mushroom sauce is exceptional.

A small restaurant with very attentive staff. Every meal we've tried so far has been excellent! And even after dinner, you'll gladly linger for a small cocktail or glass of wine. We usually send the kids home and then have a pleasant evening together :-)

We were visiting Munich and stumbled across this chic little restaurant through Google. What can I say? The service was fantastic, and the food even better! We came back the very next day and weren't disappointed. A little tip: make a reservation in advance. The place is really small, but it's worth it :)

Good personal pleasure atmosphere and of course super beer

A solid 1 – after the kitchen at Schneiders across the street had already closed, we luckily ended up here. Very friendly and attentive service, good food, and a relaxed atmosphere. We spent two consecutive days here on a business trip and were not disappointed. We'd be happy to go back.

Wir besuchten diese Gaststätte an einem Samstag Abend. Obwohl es schon etwas später war, wurden wir sehr herzlich empfangen und erlebten dort einen tollen Abend. Der Service ist absolut fantastisch. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet. Dieses Lokal ist wirklich weiter zu empfehlen, da es auch abseits der touristischen HotSpots liegt.

Really the best Kaiserschmann in Munich

I had a schnitzel and Kaiserschmarrn which were very tasty. The service was good and friendly, however when I was paying the waitress asked if I would like to leave a tip. It's very rude and off-putting to put people under pressure like that. I doubt they do that to locals.

We arrived in Munich late at night, around 9 p.m. We were incredibly hungry. All the restaurants in the area had already closed. This restaurant conjured up a delicious meal for us shortly after 10 p.m. 😍 The Käsespätzle (cheese spaetzle) was amazing. If we ever come back to Munich, we'll definitely come back 👍🏼

We went home yesterday very satisfied and full. Even the reservation in advance was pleasant and friendly. The restaurant has a cozy Bavarian interior and is within walking distance of Berg am Laim train station. In addition to large tables, there are small tables for 2-4 people, which we particularly like as a couple. We were warmly welcomed and looked after attentively. The food was very tasty and the portions were generous. In summary: Service, friendliness, ambience, quality and price easily deserve all the stars to be awarded. Unfortunately we are only in Munich for a short visit, otherwise we would definitely visit Baumkirchner quite often. We wish the Baumkirchner team all the best!

It was friendly and clean The food was a bit salty, like the hamburger steak. The hamburger and mushroom topped schnitzel were delicious. Beer is good too

Good food at fair prices. The staff is very nice and open. Update from February 20, 2025 Back in Munich, stopped there again. Still good, Robert the boss is down to earth, open and very hospitable. As far as the staff is concerned, it's better than the casting of "German Next Top Model." Everyone is very pretty and really nice. I'm looking forward to my next visit to Munich, this restaurant is a must for me!

Went with a friend, it is definitely necessary to make reservations on a weekend. This place is really popular! I had a cordon-bleue style dish (not breaded!) with Spätzle, really great taste. My friend has been frequenting this place for years. Based on his recommendation everything on the menu is worth a try! We spent 4 hours totally after our main dish, with several drinks.

Went there for the first time yesterday and had a delicious meal. Very good schnitzels with very good fried potatoes. Attentive service and pleasant atmosphere. Will definitely come back.

Ich mag den Baumkirchner von der Atmosphäre recht gern, auch die Bedienungen sind super nett. Nur das Essen..... ziemliche Glücksache, mal ok, aber nicht wirklich gut. Pommes öfters nicht durch, Gulasch total verkocht/trocken, Fleisch ( Schnitzel) geschmacklich sehr naja. Ansonsten viel Convenience (TK und Vorgefertigt) Schade, wenn das Essen besser wäre ne wirklich nette Kneipe.

This restaurant has by far the friendliest staff I have ever experienced. You can tell that they treat every customer with genuine warmth. The schnitzel was perfect – crispy on the outside, tender on the inside – and very tasty. The portions are incredibly generous. I have no choice but to highly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Fui bien atendido por Svitlana que se tomó el tiempo para explicar los platos y opciones. Tomé el schnitzel Münchner y una ensalada. ¡Un filete hubiera sido suficiente! Not a tourist restaurant. Very good food (Bavarian dishes), mostly homemade, such as: B. Schnitzel and potato rostis. Great service in every respect. The prices are also removable. Definitely come back next time.

Looks like a corner bar from the outside, but offers surprisingly delicious food (considering the price)! You can also take it with you. Schnitzels are great, burgers are really tasty too. We were lost in munchen but we found light

I got late night to a nearby hotel and didn't hope to find places open at that time. But found this one closing at 11,45PM and it had a good rating. Very cozy with warm decoration, great food (the turkey schnitzel was better than those from fancy restaurants), and the service was amazing! Good food, fair price, nice atmosphere, and a sincere smile from attendants. Great place!

Eine typische Gaststätte mit Flair. Es gibt hier ein leckeres "Münchner Schnitzel" für das wir jedesmal extra einen Umweg machen, wenn wir in der Stadt sind. Die jungen Damen vom Service sind super freundlich und sehr aufmerksam. Wir den Besuch sehr empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

The food wasn't that tasty and the dressing on the salad tasted so disgusting. Baumkirchner is not like he used to be, the food almost doesn't taste good. The food before was better. I think he only sells expired meat because I once ordered rum steak and it stank like a corpse?????

Attentive service, the food is terrific, the kitchen here knows its craft and how to handle meat. Buttery soft steak from both turkey and beef.

Visit: May 11, 2024 Well, sitting outside isn't so bad, but the food was hearty, hearty and delicious. Our waitress was quick and nice. The restaurant is a bit far out, but it's definitely worth a visit. Next time we'll look around inside.
