Restaurant Rhodos in Gera

We found the door locked today. They're on vacation, which they deserve. A notice on the website would have been helpful; it would have saved us the trip today. The Hellas did an exemplary job, which is why we wanted to visit the Rhodos. Very disappointing

Seating can be a bit tight, depending on where you're seated. Unfortunately, card payments aren't accepted.

Booking a table is a challenge! The woman at reception is not friendly at all, has no tact, and doesn't want to solve problems. She just hangs up and goes to hell. Service: A smile through her teeth. They're supposed to serve a free grilled ouzo (it's on the menu), but they didn't give me any. I had to ask for it, and only then did I get it. And the final straw was that they apparently don't accept payments with debit cards. I should have been informed, because they had an A4-sized sign hanging up, which was blown away by the fan operating in their premises. I was forced to walk 2 km back and forth to the ATM. So, not recommended!!!! 👎👎👎

There is no service. The waitresses are rude. There is hair in the food.

We were served delicious spaghetti frutti de mare. We were also quickly refilled with ouzo.

I can't comment on the food; I didn't eat anything there. If you want to experience unfriendly staff, this is the place for you. I just asked for a takeaway menu because there are no prices on the website. The answer: NO, we don't. What do you think you have to pay? All this with a facial expression that would make children cry.

Wir waren im Urlaub das erste Mal hier und können uns nicht erinnern, wann wir das letzte Mal so lecker griechisch gegessen haben. Um es kurz zu machen: tolles Ambiente, hervorragendes Essen und einen ausgezeichneten Service kann man nur empfehlen.

Unfortunately, a comprehensive assessment is not possible because we left after the service staff gave us instructions. We didn't have a reservation. We kindly informed the employee of this and asked for two places. She responded briskly that we shouldn't talk so much and listen to her :-0. We were then assigned 2 places. We decided to leave at the spur of the moment because the unfriendly waitress spoiled our appetite.

Very bad experiences, you are happy to come to eat, but you are greeted very unfriendly and you want to eat outside in the nice weather, which is unfortunately forbidden. Simply worst experience in my life, never seen such an unfriendly host.....

Very nice atmosphere with a relaxed seating layout which significantly reduces the noise level. The service is very friendly and attentive. There is nothing to complain about about the food and it was very tasty and more than enough.

We “invaded” there as a larger group (9 people). Table was ordered. Restaurant was full. Ouzo's came relatively quickly. Food order took a while to arrive (20 minutes) The first starters arrived after around 60 minutes. The starter salads after about 80 minutes and the main course after about 90 minutes. Something's not right. Okay, the restaurant was full, but the food was not evenly spaced. There were 3 ouzos in total. It's okay, but you get more from the main Greek. I had the Hercules plate. The meat was tender and juicy, the tzatziki could have been more and the garlic mashed potatoes were to die for. Overall a successful evening. It's just complaining at a high level 😄 The service was very nice and accommodating

That day it was apparently the only restaurant that had a table at short notice. Reservation by phone was very friendly, just like on site. The food is plentiful and tasty and the prices are really reasonable.

Die Qualität des Essens ist sehr gut, dadurch konnten wir die Ruppigkeit der Kellnerin ertragen. Aber mit dem letzten Besuch, war das Maß voll. Sie war wieder sowas von anmaßend und beleidigend, sodaß wir noch vor der Bestellung das Restaurant verliesse und zur Konkurenz gingen.

The food was great. A pork fillet as big as half a plate, great. The spicy sauce, a dream. The prices are really good and acceptable. Keep it up and best wishes from Austria.

We arrived at the restaurant at 8:30 p.m. and got a table despite the late hour. So far so good. However, it was only after 15 minutes, and only after we asked, that we were told that the chef was leaving at 9 p.m. We should have been told this directly, especially since the restaurant is open until 11 p.m. This caused unnecessary stress as we waited for our friends and then had to order in a hurry. The food itself was fine and the portions were huge, but the service was really disappointing due to this poor communication. It's a shame that you get the impression that as a customer you aren't being adequately informed.

The food was really exceptionally good and we had a lovely time. The service staff obviously didn't have a good day that day. She appeared completely overworked and annoyed by the smallest questions. This started with the reservation and continued throughout the entire stay. Somehow I felt a little sorry for her, I hope a vacation can fix that. According to the other reviews it was the boss.

Even though the boss is repeatedly criticized in some reviews, I have to say that she always offers me and my friends great service. She is attentive and thinks ahead. When my partner had a headache during the last visit, she simply brought him a headache tablet. He hadn't asked for it. I also have positive memories. I don't go to Rhodes Restaurant that often, but she remembers that I like to drink ginger ale. For me, the restaurant “Rhodos” is the best in Gera in terms of cuisine. The meat is super tender and melts in your mouth. The homemade honey on the dessert is delicious. They have a great menu with great dishes.

Today we simply sat down in the outdoor area as soon as we arrived. Stupid misstake!!! The first thing we heard was a reprimand from the waitress. A middle-aged woman who scares guests away with her comments rather than welcoming them, and anyone who expects Greek hospitality will quickly be convinced of the opposite. In our case it even got to the point where I asked her if we should leave again if it was inconvenient. That was the very last and also the very last time we were there. There are better, friendlier and more inviting Greek restaurants in Gera and word will get around.

The food was delicious and you didn't have to wait too long. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with the raspberry lemonade for €6. It just tasted like an Ilis Fassbrause. No ice cubes in it, no mint leaves or anything. I expected more.

If it were possible, I would give the service minus 1 star. I have never experienced such unfriendliness (on the part of the boss) in a restaurant. Since it was quite warm, we sat outside. Dumb. Clouds came up and it started to rain. We took the liberty of moving the table about half a meter below the awning. It took less than 20 seconds for the boss to reprimand us for allowing us to do this and we had to put the table back (it was already raining more). Since my 86-year-old mother-in-law was with me, we didn't want to expect her to change restaurants. We politely asked (it was raining more and more) for a table inside. We then received this in the door area. In the remaining time we were only reluctantly dumped by this “boss”. Praise to the young waitress who went out of her way. The food was good but that's what you expect when I go to a restaurant. If someone runs a restaurant, they should know that the guest is the reason for my existence and not the evil for my bad days.

Disgraceful boss When I received my drink, I dared to order my food without being asked by her. Wish the guests bon appetite with a tone that says the opposite. Even though the food was good, I won't do that again.

Food was good, could have been seasoned a little more heartily. My drink was fine. My wife's lemonade wasn't homemade as described on the menu. This was a 0.8.15 red shower like you can buy in the supermarket.

Very generous portions. Maybe slightly smaller portions of meat would be more appetizing and sustainable (less waste, but you can still fit in a dessert and you don't feel so "full" afterwards)? Fast service on Saturday lunchtime (kitchen closes at 2 p.m.!). A sort of tiramisu cake was served free of charge as a small dessert - really generous and tasty. Unfortunately we didn't make it or only tried a piece because we were completely full from the huge portions of food. There was a cool draft the whole time where we were sitting at the back of the wall. But otherwise you sit very comfortably.

Essen war Super lecker aber irgendwie war die Metaxasauce nicht gut mir war danach übel

Das Essen ist gut. Für uns hat nur das "gewisse etwas" gefehlt. Für mich persönlich war es sehr unangenehm, dass Kümmel im bifteki war. Aber das ist eher eine persönliche Sache... Mit einer Bedienung für einen ca. 2/3 gefüllten laden war der Service zwar gut, aber ausbaufähig. Insgesamt also Steigerungspotenzial. Einen Besuch würde ich trotzdem empfehlen, da das Ambiente sehr schön ist und wir uns wohlgefühlt haben.

Das Wasen schmeckt gut, jedoch hat man manchmal sehr viel fettiges Fleisch dabei. Was mich sehr stört ist, man ist beim letzten Biss und schon wird abgeräumt. Mein Salat und das Körbchen mit dem Brot stande noch auf dem Tisch weil Wir damit noch nicht fertig waren, ruck zuck wird einfach alles abgeräumt. Sowas geht nicht.

Das Essen schmeckt hier sehr gut und auch der Service war freundlich. Das Ambiente ist außerdem sehr schön. Preislich sind die Gerichte auf jeden Fall angemessen und es gibt auch eine Mittagskarte.

Nettes freundliches Personal, Essen schnell da. Ouzo wird nachgeschenkt. Sehr schmackhaft und ausreichend. Wie man es bei einem Griechen erwartet. Wir kommen gern wieder, wenn wir in der Nähe sind. Wir wohnen leider 60km entfernt.

Das Essen ist sehr reichlich und den Preis absolut wert. Es könnte jedoch besser gewürzt sein. Das war doch etwas flach. Die Leber war auf den Punkt gegart. Die Pommes so la la . Die Vorspeise mit Oliven und Peperoni war sehr lecker und für den Preis absolut in Ordnung. Das kann man von den Getränke Preisen nicht sagen diese fande ich doch überteuert. Das kann auch nicht die mehrfache Gabe von Ouzo aufs Haus raushauen. Aber sehr nett, nur nach dem dritten konnte ich nicht mehr. Vielleicht sollte der Service auch mal ein zwei trinken, dann macht die Arbeit auch mal Spaß und der Gast bekommt es mit mit. Garten und Interieur insgesamt okay. Für das Geld empfehlenswert wenn man nicht zu viel Durst hat.

Ein wirklich tolles Restaurant. Das Essen war wirklich köstlich und ich kann die Cocktails wirklich nur empfehlen. Sie schmecken super und sehen auch wirklich gut aus. Es gibt immer reichlich kostenlosen Ouzo. Das Restaurant ist nur nicht sonderlich groß. Deshalb ist es gut, wenn man vorher reserviert. Allerdings kann man sehr einfach über WhatsApp reservieren. Einfach top. Auch der Service war super. Die Metaxasauce schmeckt auch wirklich großartig.
