Restaurant Rheinblick Baumberg in Monheim am Rhein

Today we went to Restaurant Rheinblick again, and we were extremely pleasantly surprised. A waitress instead of a waiter, and incredibly friendly! That's what friendly staff really means – it's absolutely essential in the restaurant business. The food was really good, and the selection was very extensive. We were also lucky enough to have sunshine, so we could even eat outside 🌞. A truly lovely atmosphere that can be enjoyed even on colder days. Just dress warmly and enjoy the fresh air by the Rhine. Thank you to the lovely server for the wonderful, delicious meal in such a friendly atmosphere 🙏.

The kitchen and service team served our campers' group of more than 30 people well, politely, and cheerfully. The food is good and worth the price.

A very cozy and clean restaurant, with a beautiful interior, a great terrace and beer garden overlooking the Rhine, a very friendly staff, delicious food, and easy parking. We will be coming here more often in the future. We felt very comfortable and can recommend this restaurant without reservation.

I have to say, I've always enjoyed eating here regularly. But today I noticed how the boss treated the employees, and I don't want to support that any longer. It was obvious that the team was understaffed, and it took a bit longer in the kitchen and in service. Not a problem at all; I know it myself from years of service experience. Since I wanted to pay with a card inside, I took our empty plates with me at the same time. Shortly after, I saw the boss giving the employees a hard time for it. To the employees, I'm sorry you got into trouble because of me. And best wishes to the boss. That gave me the strong impression that you don't treat your employees well, and for that reason, I won't be coming back. Please work on your behavior; perhaps this will also help to counteract the understaffing.

Great location with a large terrace offering direct views of the Rhine. Unfortunately, the service on our visit was mediocre. My order was incorrect twice, despite being clearly stated. So, it might happen once, but getting it incorrect again despite complaining is unacceptable! The food prices are comparatively high. That's probably due to the location. I'd go back for a glass of wine, but definitely not for the food.

The food was super delicious, the wait for the food was about 15 minutes.

We've eaten here three times now, it's simply excellent. A big compliment to the kitchen. The young waitresses are also very friendly, and they even gave me a free dessert for my mother's birthday. And if you don't enjoy pancakes for dessert, you're missing out on something truly delicious!

I ordered a grilled platter, which listed a slice of liver on the menu. However, it wasn't available. I pointed this out to the server, and they told me they'd replace it with a small sausage because the liver was sold out. My wife's meal was lukewarm.

Everything was great and the atmosphere was nice too.

This time we landed by kayak, but we wouldn't do it again, as the campsite owner requires registration at the reception (€3 per visitor) to pass through from the shore. It's a shame, because it would actually be an ideal place for canoeists! The food was great as always; this time they had burgers, and they came in great combinations. The service staff is friendly and efficient, and the ambiance inside and outside is very pleasant! The restrooms are very clean and on the ground floor.

We enjoy coming here from Essen several times a year to eat. Attractive in any weather, with a magnificent view of the Rhine. Whether in the sheltered interior, in the wide-opening conservatory, or on the large terrace under shady trees, the ambiance is always inviting, interesting, and continually tempts us to extend our stay.

Waiting over 2:45 hours is an absolute disgrace. Rarely have I seen such extreme overload. After over 2:45 hours the information came that the crab salad was out. When the food finally came, the wrong food was brought. The burger was underground (frozen product). Absolutely not recommended!

We've been here for dinner several times. Due to the beautiful location, it is always quite full and you have a certain understanding for delayed service with so many guests. But an hour to take the food order was tough. In addition, we had to wait another hour for the food to be served, especially when customers who arrived later were served earlier. The food was the crowning glory. A schnitzel with asparagus: two sticks of asparagus that were divided, the boiled potatoes were roasted and the schnitzel was a ready-made schnitzel. All in all, quite manageable in quantity, covered in plenty of hollandaise. No salad or a small starter to bridge the waiting time, no apology and then €19.90. Yes, everything has become more expensive, but I would have asked for more here.

An absolute no-go - and on Mother's Day of all days! Despite making a reservation in good time, our table in the Rheinblick restaurant in Baumberg was booked twice. Instead of trying to find a solution or at least apologizing, the staff sent us away in a rude and condescending manner. No understanding, no appreciation – just complimented. On a day that was supposed to be special, we were treated disrespectfully. This was the first and last visit for us. If you value good service and hospitality, you should avoid this restaurant.

They're actually there more often, this year for the first time and somehow everything is different and strange. Portions still plentiful, the rest strange. A hunter's schnitzel with forest mushroom cream sauce was ordered...the "forest mushrooms" were still in the forest and there were plenty of onions in the sauce and maybe 1 sliced ​​lonely champion. The quality of the meat is good as always but...the whole meal....schnitzel, sauce and fries no salt and I say that because I actually use salt very sparingly. When ordering a drink, I was forced to take a 0.4 ml drink because, and I quote: "The boss wants it that way, we don't sell small drinks". Yes...I understand apple spritzer for €4.90, sales have to run. Oh...but there was a small Kölsch, even though according to the drinks menu there were only large ones...0.4ml for 4.70. We then paid €3 for 0.2ml. Rogue who thinks evil of it. Staff as always friendly but the attention span after serving was 0, empty glasses on the table, no question as to whether any more drinks were wanted. It was definitely not due to the overcrowded beer garden, as it was raining and not all the tables inside were occupied. It's a shame...I was looking forward to this day because it was my birthday and I wanted to end it well.

Big disappointment. After 1.5 hours you get a schnitzel with burnt fried potatoes and overcooked peppers with no taste. I don't care that it's the chef's first day, if you give something like that out of the kitchen you've missed your job.

We have been here several times by bike. No matter whether you ordered a delicious schnitzel, a salad plate or just a cold beer or a fruit spritzer, we were always very satisfied. Nice, quick service and at most a little waiting time when the beer garden was overcrowded (but that should be clear to everyone). Because of the always good experience, we also celebrated our birthday party here and were thrilled. Tenants and staff responded to all requests. There was even a surprise birthday cake with sparklers and music! Great!

After a long time, we were guests at the Rheinblick again a few days ago. Despite the change in ownership, the restaurant has lost absolutely no quality. The ambience on the terrace is just as unbeatable as the extensive range of food, its quality, the price-performance ratio and the very good, attentive service! We would love to come back and can absolutely recommend the “Rheinblick”!

We have been to this restaurant many times. Because we always spent positive hours in the restaurant and in the beer garden, we also held our birthday party there. A very successful evening from our side. Everything was perfect, from the organization to the service, the food and the ambience!!!! I would like to give the food 0 stars because unfortunately we never had the chance to try it. After waiting for 2 hours and asking several times, our second table neighbors paid and ate. The young service person was very polite and accommodating, but the rest was not helpful. If you have 5 hours to eat, you can try it out. If you don't, you shouldn't visit this restaurant.

2020: I was there yesterday for the first time in 15 years, and I have to say it's just as good as it was back then! The highlight of the day in terms of both price and quality, you wouldn't think from the outside that there was such a treasure there. Schnitzel then and now is absolutely amazing! I was here for lunch with my girlfriend, we had schnitzels - and they were fantastic! So good that she fell more in love with the schnitzels than me, haha! The service was top, the ambience was beautiful and the view of the Rhine was simply perfect. Clear recommendation!

Apparently there are now new operators in the restaurant, the prices have been increased a little, but the taste of the Rhenish-style mussels is at its absolute lowest point... it's a shame, absolutely tasteless and the pepper broth is just warm water with carelessly chopped vegetables. We knew it differently there, that's the only reason we went there... schnitzel and salad mediocre, unfortunately no recommendation🤷‍♂️

Had dinner there with 6 people on Sunday September 22nd, 2024. I used to love going here. With the tenant before last. The food was always great. With the last tenant it was a disaster, but the current tenant blows everything up. Waiters don't know which one Table which drinks come. Food cold. Waiting time up to 1 1/2 hours. When there are 15 guests. Then the wrong food is brought out. It seems that no one is interested there, you really get the impression that this former wonderful excursion restaurant ,used for other purposes. Never again with this tenant.

Unfortunately, we were only moderately enthusiastic. The ambience and service really deserve a good rating. The waitress was quick and very friendly and the views of the Rhine are priceless. However, the portion sizes vary greatly. The schnitzel plates are huge, unfortunately with cold fried potatoes and, contrary to what is described in the online menu, no salad. The portion of herring, tiny. Add two small fillets and a few fried potatoes. The prices should definitely be revised in the online map. All meals are on average 4 euros more expensive locally. Unbelievable... Unfortunately that wasn't very professional. The place has real potential...but still needs to work on itself a bit.

It's a shame, we were there recently and were very satisfied. Today, Sunday, August 25th, the three of us wanted to eat there. The terrace wasn't overly crowded, but because of the cool wind we sat down in the inn. The drinks were brought quickly, but we waited more than an hour for our food. When it was finally brought to our table, the food was completely cold. We left the restaurant after paying for the drinks and will definitely not go there again.

Wow, I'm speechless and don't know where to start. Starting with the service that you have to ask if you can/are allowed to order to probably the worst meal in a long time. We were there with 6 adults and 2 children. The food took over an hour to arrive, but if it was at least good then it wouldn't be an issue. But this?! For €16.50 you get a plate of fries with “veal schnitzel”?! Which every chip shop gets beautifully decorated. Totally desolate. Even that is somewhat okay if the food tastes good. But every kind of spice was forgotten here, and there were all 6! Adult plate cold. The short one had ordered pancakes, only when the adults' food arrived were we told that they were out and that he could have something else. Yes, of course, so that everyone eats and the short one watches. I have never been served worse and have never eaten so badly. It's a shame because the store was great before. I could list other topics like the toilet here, but I'll spare myself that. Unfortunately, money was thrown out the window.

The first time I had to return the shrimp salad I ordered, the salad was very sandy and the shrimp was fried dry. Yesterday we had the overpriced vegetable platter twice for €11.90. For my girlfriend and me. We couldn't believe what we saw. 3 small slices of zucchini, 3 small slices of eggplant, an eighth of pepper and 4 divided mushrooms plus two small unroasted slices of baguette. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo, that would have been very useful. My friend's husband ordered fries with the dish and got fried potatoes... I don't want to award any points for this, we expressed our displeasure, unfortunately nothing was responded to, there was no apology and no further accommodation. The four of us won't eat there anymore. We find it disgraceful. We all work for our money and going out to eat is now a luxury. I want to be able to enjoy it in a relaxed and contented way, but that's not possible here. Very arrogant hospitality...

Apart from the long waiting times and non-existent food (bread), the salad was spread with the schnitzel, the breading was thicker than the schnitzel itself and was dripping with oil. Ice cold...and the taste was terrible...what happened to the beautiful view of the Rhine...unfortunately no longer recommended!!! We're definitely not coming back!!!

We were in the restaurant for the first time yesterday. The waiters were very friendly and remained so even when the terrace was full. The cellars here have also remained quiet and friendly. Of course you have to wait 5 minutes to reorder a drink given the rush, this is completely normal. The food came about 35 minutes after ordering. It was tasty but could have been a little hotter for me. Will definitely come back.

The burger I ordered was downright disgusting. It tasted like it came straight from the freezer and was neither fresh nor tasty. The price was particularly annoying. Very nicely located restaurant directly on the Rhine. Great beer garden under old plant trees. Very nice, attentive staff. Delicious schnitzels at attractive prices. No long waiting times, despite the high volume of guests. All in all a nice location.

All schnitzel variants are super tasty and large portions, even if you only order a small schnitzel. Service is very friendly🥰. Always happy, especially when the beautiful beer garden is open again.

Wow. Pure stress and chaos. I have to take credit for the fact that we were informed about the waiting time. Otherwise, the service was rushed, stressed... and scattered. On several occasions we didn't know which table should have which food or drinks...guests who arrived much later were served much earlier at several tables. Little hospitality. It's a shame for a supposed reboot. And you searched in vain for the advertised pasta menu on the Internet. ..... June 30, 2024: now we were several times with the new owner. Of course, you shouldn't expect Michelin cuisine here. But you can hardly sit more comfortably in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area in summer, thank God the drinks are ice cold and the food is right for the price/performance, rather performance...

Unfortunately I have to agree with the bad reviews. The owner changed at the beginning of 2024 and that was the beginning of the end. We have always enjoyed eating there regularly over the last few years. That was completely done for us. Prices have gone up. I can still cope with that, but simply leaving out the salad for the schnitzel with fried potatoes is not an option. But that's not enough. The schnitzel had no taste and the fried potatoes were almost raw and swimming in oil. You don't have to go through that again. It's a shame for the beautiful location and the restaurant. We won't be coming back again.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting the Rheinblick restaurant at the Baumberg campsite for the second time in a month and unfortunately I have to say that I was very disappointed with my visit. Here are my reasons for this negative review: When we entered the restaurant, we (4 guests) were ignored by several waiters. They seemed stressed and annoyed, which unfortunately didn't change during the entire stay. We weren't assigned a table either; we had to fight for it ourselves. When we finished our drinks, we were asked if we knew what we wanted to eat. I asked to give us a moment until the drinks come. When the drinks came, we were told that the kitchen had imposed a 30-minute stop on admission, saying that we were unlucky and that we had had our chance. After about 40 minutes, a waiter condescended to take the order. We were assured beforehand that it would only take about 15 minutes for our food to arrive after the admissions stop. After another 30 minutes, the food came from the neighboring table, which had also ordered before us. The couple then refused the plates because of the long wait, paid for their drinks and left. Now we asked the waiter what was going on with our food, he went into the kitchen, came back and said about 20 minutes. We then decided not to eat any more, since we had been waiting for our food for more than an hour, we told the waiter that, and he seriously wanted to give us the two plates from the neighboring table. Even though he offered this without payment, I couldn't believe it since the plates had already been on their way from the kitchen for 15 minutes. All in all, my visit to the Rheinblick restaurant was a big disappointment. The unfriendly service and the long waiting times greatly affected my experience. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not visit it myself.

This restaurant has a beer garden with a lovely view over the Rhein River, which is a great spot for a refreshing drink. However, the service was not very friendly and extremely slow. We waited 30 minutes for two simple salads, which were very disappointing. They consisted of a few ingredients thrown together with a lackluster dressing. The only saving grace was the juicy, tenderly grilled chicken. For the price, it was definitely not worth it. Perhaps it's worth stopping by for a quick drink to enjoy the view, but I wouldn't recommend it for a meal.

Had a good meal here for a long time. Today an absolute disaster. The waiters can no longer speak a word of German. We waited an hour for our drinks. And then back to eating. I had the schnitzel in cheese sauce. The fries were cold. The schnitzel was raw. There was no salad with it. And there was no cheese sauce either. Instead, put a reusable slice of sandwich cheese on top. The store destroyed itself. Unfortunately no longer recommended. I would prefer not to give any stars at all.

I am in between. On the one hand, the location is great and some of the food (matjes) is also very good. However, 1/3 of the dish is salad, which was inedible due to sand. Had dinner today. A single catastrophe. When the weather was good, we sat inside because there was only room in the sun, at a table for 3 people even though it was reserved for 5. It took ages for someone to come for drinks. Food order to be taken waited another half hour and only after several waves. After an hour the food came. One was completely missing and only came after everyone was almost finished. At one meal cold fried potatoes, at the next a raw schnitzel and at the fish plate the prawns, the most expensive thing on the plate, were simply hollow. Reordering drinks took forever and only when we drew attention to ourselves. That was the last visit for now.
