Es ist eine äußerst angenehme Ambiente, aber nicht nur das, Auch das Essen hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Es ist außerdem im Preis verhältnismäßig günstig. Das Essen ist guter Standard. Das Gesamtkonzept ist stimmig. Ich würde jederzeit gerne auch wieder herkommen.

Wir durften unsere Hochzeit im Pagenhaus feiern und können von Herzen sagen: Es hätte für uns keine schönere Location geben können. Von der ersten Planung bis zum Hochzeitstag selbst haben wir uns jederzeit bestens aufgehoben gefühlt. Auf all unsere Wünsche, Vorstellungen und auch besondere Anliegen wurde eingegangen. Dabei hatten wir nie das Gefühl, nur eine weitere Veranstaltung zu sein – vielmehr wurde unsere Hochzeit mit viel Aufmerksamkeit, Herzlichkeit und Professionalität begleitet. Das Essen war ein absoluter Traum. Jedes Gericht des Buffets war qualitativ hochwertig, liebevoll zubereitet und hat nicht nur uns, sondern auch unsere Gäste begeistert. Noch heute werden wir darauf angesprochen. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir auch den Service. Das gesamte Team war unglaublich aufmerksam, herzlich und zuvorkommend – immer präsent, aber nie aufdringlich. Genau die richtige Mischung, damit man sich als Brautpaar und Gast rundum wohlfühlt. Das wunderschöne Restaurant, der Garten und das Zelt für unsere freie Trauung bildeten die perfekte Kulisse für unseren großen Tag. Die Atmosphäre war einfach einzigartig und hat unsere Hochzeit zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Wir würden uns jederzeit wieder für das Pagenhaus entscheiden und sind unendlich dankbar, dass wir unseren Hochzeitstag dort feiern durften. Ein ganz besonderer Dank gilt dem gesamten Team, das mit seinem Einsatz, seiner Herzlichkeit und seinem Engagement dazu beigetragen hat, dass dieser Tag für uns unvergesslich geworden ist. Wir waren Gestern Abend dort zum Essen. Schon die Begrüßung war sehr herzlich. Überhaupt das gesamte Servicepersonal war sehr freundlich. Die Speisen dauerten etwas aber das war dem Umstand zu verdanken, daß alles frisch war. Wir 3 waren rundum begeistert. Dieses Restaurant ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Ein mega freundliches Personal auf jeden Fall eine Reise wert. Wer ich wieder mal in Gotha bin werde ich mir hier wieder ein Eis kaufen.

Das Eingangsschild lockt mir Biergarten und Thüringer Bratwurst. Was man bekommt ist ein Restaurant mit schönem Garten und einen kleinen Grillteller auf dem es die Bratwurst gibt. Kleine aber gute Karte, das Personal war langsam und unaufmerksam, Windbeutel waren super, der Grillteller mittelmäßig und klein. Wir hatten uns auf einen zwanglosen Biergarten gefreut, den gibt es hier nicht! Dennoch unter anderen Voraussetzungen ein schönes Lokal mit einem schönen Außenbereich!

Eine wirklich hübsche Örtlichkeit, jedoch sollte das nicht alles bei einem Restaurantbesuch sein. Der Service und die Umsichtigkeit vom Personal ließ sehr zu wünschen übrig. Preis- Leistung Verhältnis ist auch nicht passend. Sehr, sehr schade.

Essen war super lecker, für jeden etwas dabei. Hübsches gemütliches Restaurant, mit liebe zum Detail. Der Staubwedel sollte aber auch mal wieder benutzt werden. Daher gibt es einen Punkt Abzug.

Wir haben uns hier rundum wohl gefühlt. Unser Essen (Rouladen und Ochsenbäckchen) war sehr schmackhaft und ansprechend angerichtet. Sehr zu empfehlen ist das Eis.

Was für ein tolles Restaurant. Wunderbar gelegen am Schloss und dem Hauptmarkt. Man hat sich sehr bemüht für unsere Gruppen 7 einen Tisch im Garten zu organisieren, obwohl es wegen eines Stadtfestes sehr voll war. Thüringer Küche vom feinsten! Der Kellner war super nett.

Ein sehr schönes, gemütliches Restaurant mit einem wunderschönen Garten. Wir waren nun schon zum 3. Mal dort bei unseren Besuchen in Gotha. Personal sehr nett und das Essen ausgesprochen lecker! Leider nur ein vegetarisches Gericht, aber das war sehr lecker. Der Beilagensalat war eine Wucht! Wir sind beim nächsten Besuch auf alle Fälle wieder dort.

Ich war heute zum Mittagessen in dem Restaurant. Die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Ich hatte eine selbstgemachte Limonade [Birne mit Rosmarin] diese kann ich nur empfehlen. Zum essen hatte ich Ochsenbäckchen mit Klößen und Rotkohl. Das Fleisch war total zart. Das gesamte Gericht hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Ich kann es nur weiterempfehlen!

Hallo zusammen, wir waren mit vier Personen nach einer Schlossbesichtigung im Restaurant Pagenhaus und haben dort ein Kleinigkeit (Würzfleisch) gegessen und waren sofort begeistert wie schön dass Restaurant ist und haben für den folgenden Abend ein Tisch reserviert. Also ich muss sagen das Restaurant ist Klasse und sehr gemütlich, das Essen großartig und genau passend, die Kellnerin sehr aufmerksam und super freundlich. Es kann nicht besser sein. Sehr lecker, toller Service und eine schöne Lage direkt am Schloss.

Nettes Ambiente am Schloss Friedenstein und der Service ist ebenfalls sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Wir hatten Rinderroulade & Fisch bestellt. Die Roulade mit Klösen & Rotkraut war lecker. Etwas wenig Soße. Allerdings der Fisch & das Gemüse dazu waren komplett versalzen. Jeder Hobbykoch hätte dies abgeschmeckt im Vorfeld. Etwas Schade - in diesem Fall hat das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis nicht gestimmt.

Wir waren zum Weihnachtsmarkt nach Gotha und Erfurt gekommen und unser 1. Abend führte uns ins Pagenhaus. Was soll ich sagen: könnte ich 10 Punkte vergeben würde ich 11 Punkte geben. Ein wunderbarer Abend in einem entzückenden Restaurant mit tollem Essen, toller (Weihnachts-) Athmosphäre und toller Service. Der Kellner ist sehr aufmerksam, war immer zur Stelle und das Bier lief immer. Das Essen war alles in allem ein Gedicht und das Wiener Schnitzel das Beste, was mein Sohn jemals gegessen hat. Der Gruß aus der Küche (Gänseschmalz mit frischem Baguette) war sehr aufmerksam und hat den herzlichen Empfang unterstrichen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Obwohl wir aus dem Schwarzwald können ist das Pagenhaus einen Besuch wert. Wir wünschen der gesamten Mannschaft besinnliche Weihnachten und weiterhin so tolle Motivation.

We had booked a table for Sunday evening. The menu was varied, ranging from roast beef and children's dishes to vegan and gluten-free options. Everything was very tasty and filling, and the wine was excellent. We'd gladly come again; it was well worth the price!

I expected this place due to its location to be pricey. We were delighted with the cosy atmosphere and the Service. Prices were a pleasant surprise. I wish I lived within walking distance.

A small, very nice restaurant with a very atmospheric ambiance where we immediately felt very comfortable. Luckily, we managed to get a table without a reservation, which was very busy. The menu is appealing, and the wait for the food was quite reasonable, given the freshly prepared food. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the drinks were well-tempered and delicious. The price of the food is reasonable for the quality. The restaurant staff were very polite and attentive, clearly concerned about the well-being of their guests. We highly recommend a visit to the "Pagenhaus" restaurant.

Ms. Sust's team not only provided us with an unparalleled ambiance, including the beautiful garden, the large tent, and the restaurant, but also responded to all our requests in a straightforward, professional, and attentive manner. The food was delicious, the entire service before and during the ceremony was perfect, and all of our guests expressly praised the discreet and attentive demeanor of all the staff. The restaurant is located right at the back entrance of Schloss Friedenstein. It has a very cozy terrace equipped with sofas, ideal for enjoying the surroundings. The interior, although somewhat crowded, has a pleasant atmosphere. The best thing, without a doubt, was the service of the staff, who were always excellent and friendly. Highly recommended for a pleasant dining experience!

We just had a quick drink. I ordered an iced coffee. They probably used hot coffee to make it, because the ice had already melted by the time it arrived.

We stopped by for lunch around 1 p.m. after visiting the castle and were all very pleased with the taste and presentation, as well as the friendly service staff.

The ambiance seems pleasant at first glance, with pretty decor and a lovely beer garden. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. With a reservation, we were seated outside without any prior notice, despite the cold – unacceptable. We then sat unattended for 30 minutes, the waiter walking past us several times and constantly putting us off. We wanted to order drinks and food at the same time so it wouldn't take even longer for someone to take our food, but we still ended up waiting over an hour. To top it all off, we were served the wrong dish – without any kind of courtesy or compensation, not even a coffee or dessert offered. The food? Disappointing. Overpriced dishes with no real pretensions: "Pasta from a Parmesan body" turned out to be overcooked instant pasta in a tasteless sauce, three flakes of Parmesan, and a few chanterelle mushrooms – all for €28! A disgrace. The cleanliness also leaves a lot to be desired – dirty restrooms, cobwebs in the corners. Overall, it was an evening that caused more frustration than enjoyment. If you value good food, impeccable service, and fair prices, this is definitely not the place for you. We certainly won't be coming back.

The food and service were to our complete satisfaction. Unfortunately, the way we paid was simply unacceptable: card payments weren't made at the table, but we had to queue at the counter. There were three couples of us and we paid separately, so it's not unusual to have to think about what we'd eaten. There was no time for that, though; the cashier practically pressured us to hurry, which is simply not appropriate for a restaurant of this price.

A visit to the restaurant is highly recommended. When the weather is nice, the garden is the ideal choice. The food is freshly prepared and served with great friendliness. Personal requests are also catered for. The local dishes are delicious.

A reservation for a "shady spot outside" was made with three days' notice. Upon arrival, we introduced ourselves with reference to the reservation and were asked to wait a moment, as the guests at the intended table were about to leave. After standing in the passageway for approximately another 15 minutes, we were asked if we wanted to sit in the dining room. We declined and referred to the reservation, which was defined (time, location, number of people, surroundings) and presented as unproblematic. A second lady then asked if we had even made a reservation. Referring to the first employee's statement that OUR table would be free in a moment, this question is irrelevant. The reservation book was opened and we were confronted with the statement that there was no reservation and when it had been made. Further arguments were lost once the date, time, and the person who had spoken on the phone were revealed. So we stood there for some time until we were given the table of the previous guests. After the place settings were cleared, the dirty edges of the drinks and plates were not wiped away. The menus handed out, as individual sheets on a clipboard, bore clear marks from multiple dishes and drinks. The drink menus were placed by the waiter at the farthest point of the table, so that guests had to get up to view them. Drinks and food were served within a reasonable timeframe. The HOW they were served is another reason for concern: glasses and a water carafe were not placed in front of the guests, but rather, like the menus, were placed at the farthest point of the table, an unused seat. The food was freshly prepared, but our personal taste assessment (salmon, veal liver, schnitzel) was below average, which, however, cannot be representative: tastes differ, as we know. It was not possible to inform the staff, as the question "whether everything was okay" was asked merely in passing and without noticeable interest. Whether the prices for the dishes and the cross-financing of the drinks were considered appropriate for what was offered is not part of the evaluation here. Of course, the subsequent settlement of the bill couldn't be rewarded with a generous tip in this experience; it was limited to rounding up. However, before that, we were asked twice what dishes we had, only to misrepresent these statements twice. After accepting the cash, the waiter left the table without a word. No thank you, no goodbye. The obligatory farewell was only given when we left a "goodbye" as we crossed the reception area. Dear readers, why do people go out to eat and not cook themselves? They want a positive experience, they want relaxation, they are looking for something special to make their day a highlight. They want a service that puts them at the center of attention during this time, to recharge their batteries, and to create positive memories. Unfortunately, we had the feeling that the ambitious gastronomic goals of the "Romantik-Restaurant Pagenhaus" could not be realized. We weren't able to see the happy, smiling faces that adorn the website. My below-average rating results from the following points, which the text refers to: Doubting the guest's word, even to the point of proving the accuracy of their statements. The wait time despite a reservation. The lack of attention to table cleanliness. The deficiencies in table service, as well as in the placement of drinks and menus by the waiters. The ambiance is quite nice, but the fur on the tables isn't that appetizing. In fact, we had to wait 45 minutes for our food, even though there was only one other table occupied when we arrived and the guests had already eaten. The food arrived cold; the salmon was overcooked, dry, and downright crispy at the narrow end. Based on the good reviews, we chose this restaurant to round off our truly wonderful vacation in Thuringia. ☹️☹️

A very nice restaurant. Cozy and stylishly furnished. The outdoor terrace is very nice in summer. The menu is just right. Not too extensive, but there's something for everyone. The veal liver I had was juicy with pleasant roasted aromas. Desserts, coffee specialties, and cakes are excellent. The selection of non-alcoholic sparkling wine, wines, aperitifs, and long drinks is particularly noteworthy. I'd love to come back and look forward to the Pagenhaus.

We were out and about in Gotha on Easter Saturday and wanted coffee and cake in the afternoon. Luckily we got a table here and were able to drink our coffee in peace and enjoy the home-baked cake...very tasty. A friend had already made reservations for the evening, so we had the pleasure again. Most of us ate the beef cheeks with dumpling and red cabbage - also a treat. The service was also very good - the young lady looked after our table unobtrusively, but very attentively and always in a good mood. In summary it was a very nice evening in a very pleasant place with really delicious food. We can only recommend the Pagenhaus. But reservation is recommended!

An all-round successful experience! The Pagenhaus not only impresses with its excellent cuisine, but also with a harmonious, stylish ambience that invites you to linger. Every course was excellent in terms of taste - you can tell that there is a lot of attention to detail here. The service was consistently attentive, warm and professional - it is rare to meet a team that exudes so much hospitality and genuine interest in the guests' well-being. Particularly nice: Despite the high quality and upscale ambience, nothing seems pretentious or artificial, just pleasant and inviting. The price-performance ratio is also absolutely right here - it's more than fair for what's on offer. A place to which you want to return - be it for a special dinner or simply to treat yourself.

Unfortunately, attempts are made to offer expensive food with low-quality ingredients. Ox cheeks and chops consisted almost entirely of fat. The potato gratin was not fresh (at least from the day before) and had obviously been warmed up in the microwave (dry & hard edges). In addition, the friendly service is not clear about the difference between a Pils and a Hellen. Overall, unfortunately not recommended.

Very nice ambience, delicious drinks and regional food and lovely service! We were there 3 times within 3 days and were not disappointed. Thanks to the warm spring sun, we were able to sit in the garden and enjoy the time there. Many thanks to the entire team!

We were there by chance because 5 other previous restaurants spontaneously didn't have a table available for us. What luck! The ambience is very appealing. Classy, ​​cozy and just the right mix of original charm and contemporary elements. The friendly service was alone, which meant that it wasn't "rapidly fast", but everything was perfectly timed. The menu was small, but seemed to be of high quality, which was also reflected in the dishes we ordered. For us we had ox cheeks with Thuringian clarification and apple red cabbage, Duroc pork cutlet with bacon beans and potato gratin, the children simply had linguine with butter and parmesan. The price-performance ratio is great, I've eaten worse for a lot more money. We will certainly come back here on our next “home vacation” at the latest!

The two of us came here spontaneously. Well, we thought it was time for a cup of coffee after a walk in the castle park. It was wonderful to spend a few hours in the beautiful garden, with of course friendly service, to be able to relax and just relax. I'd love to come back...

We went there for coffee and cake after the castle tour. We had the apple strudel and a cream puff. Both were very tasty, but the green cream really irritated me. I don't understand the point either and unfortunately it doesn't look appetizing either. I found the apple strudel very expensive at €8.90. The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, the windows were full of cobwebs on the inside, which I also found very unappetizing. In addition, both of their plates were chipped. Something like this belongs in the trash and not on the table in the restaurant! All in all, we enjoyed our visit and will definitely come back

It was the first and definitely not the last time I tried the kitchen here. I had a small special request for the kitchen that was completed without any problems! I found a decent restaurant from outside and a nice ambience inside as well. There's a large selection on the menu, with small requests if necessary.🫠 A big plus in terms of service too, because the food wasn't already swimming in sauce, but could be prepared as you wish! In terms of taste, it is so much better and just the typical Thuringian state food, even if the dumplings looked like two dumplings, the mass was made from normal potatoes, although it was finer but had more of a taste than the real dumpling mass in Thuringia. So I couldn't find any mistakes on site and was also very surprised at the way the food was cooked. That's why I'll definitely be there again to work through the map.👌

We were guests at the sponsor house on November 24th, 2024. Reservation in advance, food, service - everything was tip top. The enjoyment was marred by the rooms being far too cold. It wasn't 20 degrees in the rooms, even the waiter put on a vest after a while. The actually good espresso also had to give off its heat to the cold cup, which was a shame.

We had cream puffs and coffee. Both were very good, and the service was also friendly and committed.

The restaurant wasn't immediately visible from the castle 🏰 and a tip from the museum staff. We didn't regret it. The food was excellent. We had brawn, spiced meat pie and a salad with patty. The wait was worth it. The food was fine tasty and also something for the eye. Thanks to the kitchen. The service was also very friendly and professional. So very much so recommend.

A restaurant that cares about the calorie balance of its guests! Yesterday we reserved a table for 8:30 p.m. (after visiting the neighboring Ekhof Theater). The food was excellent, the atmosphere in the garden was very homely, but when we wanted to order a dessert, we were told without any warning that the kitchen was now closed. We should please place our last drink order right away because they are about to close. You should better communicate the time when the order will be accepted, ideally as soon as the guests arrive, otherwise it will lead to guest frustration at the end of what should have been a wonderful evening if you are not allowed to consume according to your wishes.
