Best Korean restaurant in Heidelberg!

Last time today. My wife's favorite restaurant. I always spend a lot of money there with the family. 15 tables free. Requested a table for an hour. Rudely turned away.

A restaurant with a very bad smell. The smell of garlic is everywhere. The service is bad and there is a lot of chaos.

I'm from Switzerland – and every time I'm in Heidelberg, a visit to Restaurant ON is a must for me. The food is always a highlight: authentic Korean, full of flavor, and prepared with love. You can taste the quality and dedication in every dish. The service is always warm, attentive, and friendly – ​​you feel completely welcome. For me, it's clearly the best Korean restaurant in Heidelberg. I can only warmly recommend Restaurant ON – and thank you from the bottom of my heart for many enjoyable moments. See you next time 💛

Unfortunately, the bowl and the noodles were rather average. But the service was very friendly and good.

The barley tea was so delicious. A taste of home. The soft tofu stew was also delicious, with lots of seafood.

Authentic Korean food. Delicious, healthy, fun to eat

I had some stir-fried pork, soft tofu stew, and soju all by myself, and it was a comfortable and enjoyable meal.

After visiting the Technik Museum Speyer, we drove to Heidelberg to have dinner at the On restaurant (mainly to avoid the Friday rush hour traffic back to the Rhine-Main area). It was absolutely worth it. We were able to sit outside on the cobblestone street, a stone's throw from the Neckar river, and despite the shade, it was quite pleasantly warm. The food was delivered quickly and hot and tasted divine. This time we shared three starters and one main course. We'd be happy to go again the next time we're in Heidelberg.

It's been two weeks since I last visited Germany, and my wife has been craving kimchi stew for three days now, so I came here. It tasted even better than what I've had in Korea, but with a slightly more localized feel. It was absolutely delicious. Broccoli with soy sauce is the perfect Korean dish!

We were a group of four celebrating our friend's birthday. The food was generally delicious, but the stone-pot rice is more of a winter dish. It seems less appropriate in the summer – the pot radiated a lot of heat, and the rice stuck to the sides, making the taste a bit dry. The udon noodles, on the other hand, were good – with a pleasant sweetness from the teriyaki sauce. The price for the small bottle of Korean soju seemed overpriced to me. It tasted more like regular vodka, slightly diluted with water. What the restaurant lacks is an authentic Korean design. The ambiance, in my opinion, doesn't really fit the concept, and without air conditioning, it was very stuffy inside. The service was friendly, but our request to move outside when a table became available was ignored. We paid €125 for four people.

Authentic Korean food. One of my Korean companions said, "This is better than in Korea." I'll definitely be back.

A Korean restaurant in Heidelberg's old town. The service was very attentive and friendly, the order was taken quickly, and the food was served very promptly. The food could have been a bit spicier; the broccoli served in small bowls was still quite raw, and the pickled vegetables in the two other bowls were very delicious. The portion was perfectly large for one person. The price was reasonable.

A lovely, authentic Korean restaurant by the Old Bridge with a small outdoor area and a large indoor area. The bibimbap with bulgogi and small side dishes is delicious, and the menu offers a nice selection. Reservations are recommended, as it gets busy.

A magical place hidden in one of the small alleys of Heidelberg. The food is great the staff is friendly, the only negative thing was I had to share the amazing food with my wife and kids.

Great Korean food, with huge portions. We had two starters: veggie dumplings and kimchi pancake and two mains: bulgogi and stir fried tofu. Everything was perfect, but we barely made it (because it was so.big), even though we were after 20k of hiking... I highly recommend this place for a nice dinner. The interior could be more cosy, but the food fully compensates that.

The dishes were authentic, perfectly seasoned, and prepared with great attention to detail. The bibimbap and bulgogi in particular were a dream – so fresh and flavorful! The ambiance is modern yet cozy, with a pleasant atmosphere that invites you to linger. You immediately notice that quality and hospitality are paramount here. The staff was extremely friendly, attentive, and made our evening even more enjoyable. If you want to enjoy Korean food in Heidelberg, you have to go to On. A clear 5 stars – I'll definitely be back!

It was really crowded in the evening. The portion is really really big. Definitely worth it if you are walking and feeling hungry haha. The Kimchi soup is rich in flavor. That one dish is spicy👍😽but I can’t recall the name. Nice one!

Not so great today. When the place is crowded, the service suffers. The staff is excellent, super friendly, super attentive. But with the crowds, it gets difficult.

The food came quickly and was good. Unfortunately, the ramen was forgotten at the beginning, but the staff quickly responded and brought us the missing ramen right away. The ambiance is so-so, which is why it only gives it 3 stars—nothing special, but not bad either.

It doesn't feel like localized Korean food, but rather like eating in Korea. The owner speaks Korean, so ordering was easy. It's also popular with locals, so if possible, it's a good idea to make a reservation.

I ordered Osam Bulgogi and kimchi jeong... it was very yummy. Service is also very good. Very near to the Bruckenaffe...

It's better than the Osam bulgogi I had in Korea. My husband cooks, and he is better than Baek Jong-won~ When Koreans get tired of German food, they always go here and have a bowl of makgeolli. But there are more German customers. Good luck K-Food~!

We were able to reserve a table at short notice for Saturday evening, which was great. The food is fresh and tastes good, there is a good selection. The service was very nice and explained even if you didn't know what the individual dishes contained. Unfortunately we didn't like the atmosphere at all, more like an old pub or a rustic German restaurant. We had expected that the furnishings and decoration would have an Asian atmosphere, but unfortunately that wasn't the case at all. We expected more for the not exactly cheap food and there are fancier restaurants in this price segment that serve just as good food.

The best Korean around. Udo noodles were very tasty and so were the pancakes. The atmosphere could be improved...

We were very satisfied with our visit to the ON restaurant. We had reserved a table online in advance, which is definitely necessary in order to get a table (at least on the weekend). Although it quickly became relatively full, we were served quickly and after a short time the food was already at the table. We ordered bulgogi with tofu and fried tofu and found both very tasty. The banchans served with it were exactly to our taste. The price was reasonable for the portion size. We'd love to come back.

Very tasty...I ordered two spicy pickled dishes (fried squid with spicy sauce and chicken with cheese and spicy sauce). They tasted the same. The sauce was very powdery. The sauce for the chicken with cheese and spicy sauce was too mushy. The squid was not tasty and the pickled radish was not Korean. , there was a side dish of boiled broccoli with some Korean hot sauce (shouldn’t it be a Korean side dish? I also ordered it.) The service was cold. 20+ per person, very low value for money, a failed dining out experience. Tragedy, will not come again. 🤭

Considering the many restaurant options in Heidelberg, I can only give this place one star. The food was basic, lacked flavor, and wasn’t special in any way. It’s disappointing because we had higher expectations based on the reviews we read before visiting. Unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype, and we left feeling unsatisfied. With so many fantastic dining choices in Heidelberg, I wouldn’t recommend this one

It's a shame that Korean restaurants in Europe seem to be becoming more and more localized, but I was so happy to be able to taste authentic Korean food here. All the food we ordered was delicious. Nice atmosphere and friendly service :)

We weren't that impressed, the service was very good, the atmosphere less so (everything was a bit unkempt). The food was a bit unusual.

Five of us dined and ordered a large portion of seafood pancakes as a starter to share and five main courses. After about 50 minutes the seafood pancake was served and 10 minutes later the main courses arrived. This long wait became increasingly unpleasant. After we paid, I voiced my complaint to the boss. But their reaction was that this was all the customers' problem, they hadn't done anything wrong, and the wait was normal. A simple apology could have resolved the situation, but instead it made you feel even more uncomfortable. After reviewing negative reviews from other guests and the restaurant's responses, I quickly realized that such complaints are unnecessary - it's hard to expect a fair response from people who don't understand service. You can run your restaurant your way, but I can decide to stop going there and spend my money elsewhere.

We ate here for the first time. The atmosphere is bright and friendly. The dishes came quickly and were very tasty. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. Definitely coming back

My family and I went to eat at this restaurant. It was very delicious. The vegetable side dishes were very delicious, the vegetables were crispy, and the price was not expensive. If there is a chance I'll want to eat again.

This was a bad experience in our life. We were there for dinner with our 6 months old daughter. We waited 15 mins to get our reserved table. Took 55 mins to serve our food, and by that time my little one was so cranky so we decided that will eat one by one. After my husband ate the food I gave my daughter to my husband and planning to have my dinner. They took my plate without asking me, and I had no food. That was a horrible evening. That was too much for me to handle. Unfriendly staff and zero management.

Our experience of the restaurant ON in Heidelberg was our worst in Germany so far. Me and my wife arrived at 6pm at the restaurant with our 6 month old daughter. As we had no reservation so we were provided a small table in the corner. We asked the waiter if there was a slightly bigger table available due to the bags we were carrying. They said no. We asked to make a reservation at 7 or 7:30pm depending on the time slot they had available. They said 7:30pm would be possible. We returned at 7:30pm. On arriving, we were asked to wait for 15min as there was no table available. We were called at almost 7:50pm at a table. After sitting at the table for 15-20min we were able to order. We waited and waited. Our order was brought to us after almost 30min. In the meantime our daughter became a bit irritated. My wife went outside with her to calm her down. She returned in 5min but our daughter not entirely calm. I finished my meal quickly and took over the task of calming our daughter. My wife helped me to put on the baby carrier and Coat at the door of the restaurant and then went back to complete her meal. On returning to our table, she found out that her meal was already thrown away and the table was empty. They thought we had finished our meals, even when the plates were full. We had waited effectively more than 3hrs and my wife had to leave empty stomach. As I said at the start, our worst experience in Germany. We would not recommend this restaurant at all.

I was there with a larger group, so that wasn't a problem with a reservation. We can highly recommend it. The food was great, unfortunately we were only missing the kimchi from the side dishes. But the Korean drinks made up for it.😉 The service was super nice🫶, helpful and quick. The toilet was also clean. So unreserved recommendation!!!! 매우 감사합니다 👍🫶

I must say the organization of the restaurant is too bad. Waiter and waitress are confused, and the kitchen is always ‚busy‘, even my food is not correctly ordered. After waiting 30min for my food, asking several times, one waiter finally realized that my order hadn’t been placed correctly 🤯🤯 However, to be fair, my starter is tasty, and the main dish of my friend seems nice.

If you love Asian and especially Korean cuisine, you should definitely take a look here. In addition to various dishes, there are also Asian drinks. And everything is beautifully presented too. Recommended

Had to wait an hour for the starter. After 1 1/2 hours of waiting we also got our main course. There were three of us there. I find the waiting time unreasonable. The food itself was ok. A little expensive, but you got enough. Service was also friendly.

Seafood soft tofu stew is delicious. The side dishes are also delicious. If you would like to order soft tofu stew as an appetizer with rice and side dishes, please order it as a Hauptgang (set).

The atmosphere inside was kinda cozy. The food was served in an appealing tray with tasty starters and appetizers. Main dish was the best. However we had to wait one hour to get our foods. Would definitely go there again, depending on my time!

The price is 20-30 euros per person. The kimchi pancake is thick and crispy at the end. Stir-fried pork is a little spicy but delicious. The quantity is ample. The prices are similar to other restaurants, and it would be a good idea to stop by if you miss Korean food during your trip. Great food with good portions. A little too loud in the store.

Kitchen is very slow, we waited for an hour to get food. Waiters didn’t check with us if we were happy despite many eye contacts, we saw people coming later than us get served before us. Bimbimbaq is dry, Seeweed roll is very salty (too much sauce), rice is soggy cooked with too much water. This restaurant used to be very good, now more expensive and worse food and service, I am disappointed with this experience.

Honestly, the food is still really good (김치전 here is better than most in Korea) but unfortunately after it rebranded from Gogi it became very expensive and the portions became much smaller. The saddest part is that 두부김치 is no longer available 😢 If you don't mind the price though, I would recommend.

The food is good. Everything freshly prepared. Certainly not a bargain in terms of price, 4 dishes with 4 small drinks 107€. Unfortunately the waiting time for the food was a bit too long.

The kimchi pancake was the perfect hot starter. The seaweed and seafood pancakes were good too, but the kimchi one really stood out. For our mains, we had bibimbaps and they were delicious. I do wish there was more of the hot sauce that comes with it. Pro tip: let the rice sit at the bottom for a bit so it gets nice and crunchy before mixing everything together. Just be careful not to leave it too long, or it might burn. The aloe vera juice was nice, but it's a bit too sweet to have before your meal. It would make a great refreshing dessert after your food.

The food was good, albeit pricey. The location is lovely, very central and the restaurant is quite large. The service was very slow even though there were not that many people inside and outside. And the server forgot the drinks we ordered.

The absolute best Korean in the Rhine/Main/Neckar area in my opinion. The atmosphere of the restaurant is more in the style of an old German restaurant but you still feel comfortable. I have never eaten my favorite dish, Osam Bulgogi, to such perfection anywhere else as at On. Keep it up and I absolutely recommend it. We easily got a bowl of rice for my 2-year-old niece, and there was even children's cutlery

At the end of my three-day trip to Heidelberg, I visited On, a Korean restaurant on the banks of the Neckar. It's neat Korean food. Stir-fried pork and kimchi stew were just as delicious as those at a Korean restaurant. The German customer at the next table seemed to like the stone pot bibimbap, too. It was a dinner suitable for a beautiful spring night in May. We met at a Korean restaurant in Germany. My wife and I were lucky to have a hearty dinner. I hope “On” continues to do well in the future. Thank you.

There are already enough photos of the restaurant, but I think that when I write that my wife said to me that I haven't looked so satisfied and happy after eating in a long time, it hits the spot! 🙂 And the fact that several Koreans came to eat while we were there also says a lot; they will appreciate good and authentic local food.

Highly recommend the tteokbokki, authentic flavour, generous portion of fish cake. Do add on ramen as it can soak up the gravy, enhancing the flavout and making it suitable for sharing. The kimchi pajeon can do with less flour as it was a little too thick. Staff are friendly and attentive. Reservation easily done from the restaurant’s website.

A taste that can survive even in areas with many Korean restaurants, such as Berlin, Frankfurt, and Hamburg. Bibimbap was the most delicious I had in Germany. Osam bulgogi is comparable to Korea's with the right fire flavor and the harmony of vegetables and seasoning. Despite the slightly disappointing price, I immediately think I'll go again the next day.
