Very tasty, highly recommended!

I use to eat here all the time but I'm very dissapointed with how the service is nowadays. Won't be coming back to this place anymore.

Overall impression is OKAY. We were here as a big group for our team dinner. The service is good but slow. We were there during the peak hours; so this can be understood. The food was okay. The dumplings were delicious. I must mention the veggie, Kimchi and Chicken, all three were equally good. We did order almost all their available options for the chicken. I found all their chicken items to be sweet. Not so special for my taste buds. I am a great chicken lover; but I was disappointed with the main course food here. The outside seating arrangement; overlooking the old bridge and the river is amazing.

Great spot for legit Korean fried chicken. The place is not very well signed, but is in a charming old stube next to the Neckar. The menu for the fried chicken is large with multiple flavors and choice of boneless, bone in of wings. The rest of the menu is simple but delicious. Mandus are nice and flavorful, but get cold pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, it's not what it used to be. We paid 18 euros for a few small pieces of chicken, the fries weren't cooked through, the sauces are almost nonexistent and taste "watery." Do yourself a favor and save yourself the visit or the order.

The restaurant was very cold, and the service was extremely unfriendly. No one could understand German. The food was also very expensive. The chicken was cooked with a lot of sauce, fat, and skin—truly unappetizing. I will never go there again and will never waste any more money on such a bad restaurant. I absolutely cannot recommend it—a complete waste of money!

The restaurant's vibe is actually quite good, but the food is really bad, with no flavor and completely soggy breading. And for €45, it's a disaster. The fries were raw, etc. I came in with high expectations, but paying for it was a real pain in the end. Plus, the service messes things up: food comes before drinks, and dumplings and soy sauce come 15 minutes apart, so the dumplings are completely cold. Bottom line: I personally think it's way too expensive for what you get and it's not even worth €15.

The food keeps getting worse, especially the chicken! It's getting more and more expensive and more and more tasteless! Furthermore, the waitress in the store provided no service at all; she just grinned foolishly and told me it wasn't available.

Best Korean Fried Chicken in BW

The food is nice. We both had the chicken with different sauces. Sitting outside is good, inside however is kind of dark and unpleasant. The toilets are dirty. The service is really not good. I have been there multiple times. I have never gotten a complete set of chopsticks and napkins. Even if the restaurant is almost empty drinks take forever.

Not recommended I ordered ramen, and it had eggshells in it! It hurts when you bite into it. The ramen itself is nothing special, and the waiters don't really know where it is or what service means. At that price, I really don't recommend it.

We've been guests at Cocodec for many years, and our favorite dish was always the Sweet & Spicy Chicken, which used to be simply fantastic. But on our last visit in June, we were very disappointed: The chicken was so extremely sweet that it was barely edible, and there was no hint of "spicy" at all. The wait time also increased significantly. Unfortunately, that was probably our last visit there.

The service is very good. The boss is also very nice. The food is also very good. The ginseng chicken soup is delicious. The fried chicken is also delicious.

I've been a regular customer for over 10 years. But now it's just not good anymore. The quality of the meat and crispiness has deteriorated drastically over the last three orders. The chicken is no longer double-fried!!!! The potatoes are soggy. No longer authentic... what a pity. Unfortunately, the service is haphazard and inflexible.

Will not recommend. Food was average, service was poor and staff was rude and passive agressive. One of the staff members was eating and drinking with other guests and had a part time job of serving which shows a sense of entitlement I have never witnessed before. A total loss of a very good location and ambience!

Well. Don't get the one with the sauce, because it's way, way, way too sweet. There's hardly any service; you order via QR code. The atmosphere was nice, and they serve tap water, which I think is very good.

I've rarely seen such incompetent and unfriendly staff. They weren't the only ones who had to speak to the waiter before we could finally order. When the food finally arrived after almost an hour, we had to wait an additional five minutes for cutlery. But it doesn't surprise me that if Lieferando AND Wolt have to deliver out of greed, the restaurant can barely serve the four occupied tables. Definitely the first and last time.

One of the most delicious restaurants I've ever been to! We tried the chicken dumplings, Bull Yang Nyom chicken wings, and curry chicken—everything was incredibly flavorful and perfectly spicy. The cozy ambiance with a stunning view of the Neckar River made it a truly special experience. Highly recommended! I plan to return soon.

The yangnyum chicken (sweet and spicy sauce) and fried chicken were alright. The best was the co so ning chicken. The cheese powder was very delicious. My son also loved the pork dumplings. The portions of the chicken were very small tho. They used pommes to make it look larger. We ordered half and half chicken and another half but they looked extremely small. The chicken drumstick had no meat on it. They had one high chair and when we first arrived, we couldn’t use the high chair. Once the other baby left, we could. Parking is also an issue. The location is amazing as it is next to the river but parking was difficult.

The food is great, but the service is terrible and takes out her bad attitude on the guests. The young woman who served us yesterday had absolutely no desire for her job and just rolled her eyes constantly. From the moment we were assigned a table to the moment we took the cash. You can't blame something like that on communication when people greet you with a "don't care" attitude right from the start and treat you accordingly. The waiters speak English, which is perfectly fine if they could also speak the language. But since the order itself is placed via a QR code, it's not so tragic and works. The manner of the waitress unfortunately made us feel unwanted and unwelcome in the restaurant. What a shame, because the food is actually really delicious. There were four of us and we spent around €120 there. €30 per person, I think the price is reasonable for the amount of food.

Gutes Essen, aber absolut unhöfliche und unmotivierte Bedienung. Nicht zu empfehlen. Geht lieber ins Soban. Die haben zwar kein fried chicken, aber da lassen die Mitarbeiter nicht die Laune an einem aus.

Delicious food, very comfortable seating outside with a view of the Old Bridge, and the service was friendly and quick. I can recommend it!

Try something different, try a different cuisine, this place was recommended to me by a friend. I tried it and I have to say, the team is very friendly and unobtrusive. I really have to go here again, the food is really delicious.

This is by far the best Korean chicken place outside Korea. Me (authentic Korean) approved.

Today we waited for a full hour and 10 minutes, from the time we placed the order to the time the fried chicken was served. The only thing to be thankful for is that it wasn't just us, everyone present had to wait an hour per person. Every guest looked around and occasionally urged politely. The waiter seemed very busy, turning around, but never turning your dish. By the way, the meal was ordered by scanning the code. The fried chicken was not amazing, and the taste was not bad. Once again, I emphasize! This restaurant is not recommended to anyone who does not have the patience to wait for more than half an hour for the food to be served.

Beautiful place to get Korean food. The service is very good and the food is very tasty. Special mention goes to the portions they serve, easily fills your stomach. The half portion is enough for one person, sometimes more than enough. Would highly recommend this place.

There were two of us there. The order is successful online via a QR code. Unfortunately we had to wait a very long time for our food. A portion came then we had to wait a long time again and ask where the other portion was and then we were told that we had been forgotten. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere outside was also very good. I wouldn't recommend you sit directly under the tree because two fir trees fell on us.

I visited several European countries on a long business trip, but after comforting myself with Korean-style chicken and beer, I returned home with strength. It was delicious and plentiful, so I visited it two days in a row while I was in Heidelberg. It was chilly so we ate indoors on the first day and at an outdoor table on the second day. I highly recommend the outdoor tables!! The side menu, ramen, is also the best. If you like spicy noodles, be sure to add it and try it!^^

Cocodec is the most delicious restaurant in Germany!! Everything is very very good!! It's crispy on the outside and so soft on the inside. I highly recommend it to everyone. I plan to visit again and again!!

My friend and I ate at Cocodec and made reservations in advance. Unfortunately, our experience was anything but satisfactory. The first problem was communication. The waiters only speak English, but unfortunately very poorly and incomprehensibly. The order is placed online using a QR code on the receipt, which in itself wouldn't be a problem - if communication wasn't so difficult. We wanted to divide our fried chicken into two different types on a plate and specifically asked how that worked. The waiter then showed it to us on his cell phone. However, when the food came, we were totally confused: instead of two plates, we suddenly got four! Then the waiter came back and said he had misunderstood us - but instead of correcting the mistake, we were expected to pay for everything anyway. We found this extremely disgraceful as it was not our fault. Despite our complaint, we ended up having to pay for four plates even though we only wanted two. Given the already high prices, this was really annoying. The food itself was okay, but nothing special. Overall, the experience was very disappointing due to poor communication and handling of the error. If the restaurant only hires English-speaking employees, they should at least be able to speak understandably. As it is now, I can't recommend Cocodec.

The food is great and the staff is nice. 1 minus point because the toilets were not clean.

Unfortunately we had to wait about an hour for our food, even though there were only two of us. Unfortunately it wasn't anything special and at €14 it was too expensive. Service wasn't really there and the door was open the whole time, so we ended up sitting there in jackets. When we asked that it might be closed because it was cold, we were told it wasn't okay to have guests sitting out there. Too bad :/

The perfect place to take Korean groups or foreigners who are interested in but are unfamiliar with Korean food. You can eat Korean-style chicken and beer in a very Korean-like atmosphere. Although it is slightly different from the Korean seasoning, it tastes like home. Salad is served, along with chicken radish and pickles. In particular, if you feel like it would be difficult to eat together on one plate, you can also eat chicken rice, so a lot of Germans come here too.

Cocodec is one of my three favorite Korean cuisine restaurants in Heidelberg. If you like chicken you should definitely try the Korean fried chicken at Cocodec. The different varieties mean there is something for everyone and the Mandus as a shared starter is simply delicious. My standard choice is the boneless Ban Ban Chicken, which is a large plate with two selected varieties for 2 people and perfect for sharing. Cocodec is a must for me when I have visitors and go to the old town with them. We have already ordered and picked it up, it was quick and uncomplicated! Food was well packaged and still warm when we got home and tasted just as good as in the restaurant!

This spot was bustling with people just enjoying the afternoon in from the cold. It felt like Korea again with all the different conversations, piles of chicken and wait staff going in and out. 🤣all they’re missing is an ajumma yelling and laughing in the back. We ordered their food €32 whole boneless chicken. Half sweet garlic and half spicy curry. My kids and I enjoyed it but my husband was not a fan of the spicy curry. He said there was a molasses taste to it. We will definitely be back to try the other flavors. Google maps takes you to the back of the store. The store front is on the Main Street.

I enjoyed eating chicken a lot in Korea, and it’s great to have it at Heidel!! This time I went there and tried Samgyetang. It was very tasty and healthy, with plenty of portions. I intend to visit again next time

Food inspection on September 19, 2024: Significant hygiene deficiencies were found in all areas of the company, meaning that there was a significant risk of contamination for the food produced and processed there. In particular, surfaces and equipment that come into direct contact with food were dirty and greasy (e.g. saladettes, pans, deep fryers). Seasoned chicken meat was stored in non-food grade packaging. Frying fat was old and no longer suitable for consumption. Dead cockroaches were also found in the kitchen area.

Short: I can recommend this restaurant and I will go there again. It is very delicious and the portions are filling perfectly. We had a very nice evening. I can totally recommend this restaurant. The food is very yummy, I liked the spicy soy souce garlic chicken especially. One portion of half chicken will fill you perfectly even if you are very hungry. however always order the half chicken because with the whole you will not get rice with it, if you order the half chicken twice you have two portions of rice with it which saves you 3 euros. The bang for the buck is very good and the food is of very high quality and very delicious. The service was okay it was not good but also not bad. Only some forks and knifes where a bit dirty, that's why I just used the chopsticks you will get a clean pair of those. We where quite a big group so the food arrived in a distance of 20 minutes for our table which made it impossible to eat at the same time, but considering our group size and that it's rather a small kitchen and everything was freshly prepared I would not care about this too much. Also very nice is that you can get a water for 1 euro I really appreciate this from this restaurant for that 10 out of 10 really thank you for that.

The fried chicken is nice. But the staff are very incompetent. The day before I called for a reservation for 5 people, the staff agreed. But when we arrived no table was actually reserved for us, they just gave us a random table. The food also took a long time to be served. In the end when we want to pay the bill separately, they say we can’t because they are busy. But clearly nobody is paying at that time and they just want to avoid the trouble of dividing the bill. Helloo, at least find a less lame excuse?

Casual restaurant near the river in Aldstadt. The modern pop music provided a fun atmosphere. I ordered Ramen with vegetarian dumplings. I've eaten plenty of packet noodles to know that the flavouring and noodles came from a packet, topped with 4 tasty dumplings, chopped up fried egg and thinly sliced spring onion. While I still enjoyed it, it's handy for future customers ordering this dish to know that 11 euros gets you 4 dumplings and a ramen packet. I know that the place is renowned for their Korean fried chicken dishes, just an FYI to any vegetarians looking to eat here: you'll get better quality for your money if you order the vegetarian or kimchi mandu dumplings.

The Cocodec was recommended to us by a friend from Heidelberg and we spontaneously went there one evening for my brother's birthday. The chicken is very tender and the sauces are really tasty (here's a recommendation for the curry sauce), the mixed mandu platter was also recommended and the radish was a little star of the evening! But the service was particularly excellent - everyone was very nice and the chef gave us dumplings as a birthday present! Thanks for that! 🌼

I had dinner there with my wife today, a Saturday. The friendly waiter even put us an extra table on the terrace because everything was occupied. The food came quickly and was incredibly tasty. The chicken had a super great taste. We'll definitely be back.

There are not many indoor seats at the Korean fried chicken restaurant next to the old town of Heidelberg, and it didn't take long for it to be full. The field service staff is an Indian girl with a smile on her face and is very kind. To order food, you need to scan the QR code to order, which is very convenient. This time we ordered Korean fried chicken for two, half original flavor and the other half with sweet and spicy sauce. It was so delicious and so big that we couldn’t finish it and took it away. The side dishes are a salad and pickled white baskets, which are very satisfying. The waiting time was long, there were only four groups of guests at the time and we were the third group. We waited 40 minutes for our food to be served. Not recommended if you are in a hurry~~

It takes forever for our food to arrive.

The staff is ridiculously bad organized. The waiting time is horrible and the dishes were served with light years apart. We lost all joy and suffered from olives in salad and suspicously spicy chicken. Probably not coming again.

Stay. Away. If you have any time pressure, kiss your appointment goodbye. Maybe you’ll get some good chicken, but it comes with a cost: your time, and your dignity. Let’s start at the beginning: After 30 minutes after being seated, we finally get to order using a QR code. Another 15 minutes, and we get the appetizers. But no utensils to eat with. That’s fine, we wanted to eat the appetizers with the main anyway… After waiting over an hour, no main, we finally ask: “where is our food”? Another 15 minutes pass, and finally we get something to the table. But not all of us, even though we ordered around the same time. Another 30 minutes pass until I finally get my dish. The rest of the table is already done. We have places to be, and have to split the party so I can stay and finish my meal. The whole time service was avoiding eye contact, and never offered an apology, not even empathy. Eating here felt like a punishment. It was extremely frustrating as we have been coming here for years, but what’s the price of good chicken? Apparently at least 2 hours of your time and miserable, unprofessional service. Side-note: the bathrooms reminded me of my student dorm days.

We can't say anything about the food because we waited so long that we just left. Kurt caught up: terrible service, dirty table that still wasn't cleaned up after 10 minutes and basic incompetence. Furthermore, while we were waiting for menus and a clean table, the couple next to us who wanted to order didn't want to be served... It's a shame, because the food is definitely not bad.

Beautifully located, at the foot of the old bridge in Heidelberg. Small, quaint shop with a cozy, rustic outdoor area. The food is perfect, tastes very tasty and doesn't take long. It takes 5 minutes to understand the map 😅, but once it clicks, it's very obvious. However, you should be able to speak English or Korean. Prices are okay. All in all, recommended!

Ate there once and immediately became addicted to this incredibly delicious chicken! The mandu are delicious every time. We come here regularly. Sometimes the food is delivered quickly, sometimes it takes a little longer but otherwise you can't complain. The toilets are a bit dark and sometimes not as clean as they should be.

Boring, tasteless and loveless. The taste of frozen food from the penny. The service was friendly, but didn't speak German. You had to place the order with your cell phone - catastrophic, what's the point? Cheeky: 0.4l discount apple spritzer for €5. Never again!

I used to love going to Cocodec but the new management decreased portion sizes and you can't seem to refill rice or the pickled horse radish. Not to mention this time I went to eat the server expected a tip and my partner and I got diarrhea the next morning. Never happened before in Cocodec and I won't be eating there again until they sort themselves out.

Is it possible for it to be this crispy even with the soy sauce skinned Yangnyeong on it? It's so delicious... It goes well with green onion salad... Cozzening chicken..it’s better than Pburinkle! I think Cokodaek is the best chicken in Germany!! I am satisfied with everything from salad to steamed dumplings. Calling for beer... After all, chicken and beer is the truth..👍👍👍

It was so delicious and the location was so pretty that you could see the bridge! I ate it with soy sauce and cozine flavor and I was very satisfied! i did it. The salad is delicious and the dumplings are delicious too~~

A very bad and unfriendly experience with Lieferando restaurant pickup service. The system says I can pick up at 12:35pm for two meals, but when I arrive at 12:45pm the waiter tells me no! It's 1:15 p.m., I have to wait another 30 minutes, that's not their fault, it's Lieferando's. The unfriendly waiter made everything worse.

Dirty and unfriendly. Toilet super dirty and disgusting. Staff only speaks English and is rude. We're in Heidelberg, so you should speak German. Portions are ok, but carelessly served in a bowl.

I have rarely seen such a dirty toilet in a restaurant. I was really disgusted by touching anything. Your glasses also come to the table dirty, so I don't want to know what the kitchen looks like. According to my husband, the food was good, but from the feel of it, the pannade or sauce was very sugary. We definitely won't be coming back here.

Their chicken is unbelievably JUICYYYY and flavorful, served with a variety of mouth-watering sauces, plus a boneless option for an easy feast.🤤🤤The spring onions add a perfect crunch that cuts through the richness, and don’t get me started on their mandus — absolutely divine. I was disappointed with the Stuttgart Soban... I didn't go to the Soban very often, but I came with an acquaintance who said the Heidelberg Soban was good... but the mindu came out hard. In other words, the frozen dumplings came out undercooked... Was it just the day I visited? The vegetables that came with the salad came out with their color already slightly faded. They weren't fresh... Hello, Soban...

Very delicious chicken, but price is a little high

I love Korean cuisine. The portions are decent, the service is calm and friendly. When it comes to the ambience, I have to say, we were lucky; there wasn't much going on in the small inner courtyard with a view of the Neckar. We were very satisfied. Didn't have to wait long for the food either. At the beginning we were given a QR code which we used to order our food. And now I'm not entirely sure, my sister paid when I went for little girls, but I think I read that only card payment is possible. But I don't want to put my hand in the fire for that. Just in case there is someone for whom this could be relevant.

I waited for 30 minutes but they didn't give me any menu or order, not recommended for tourists or people where time is important. (Go if you can wait an hour) And the service is terrible. (People who came later took their orders first)

Decent Korean food at good rates. It tastes delicious, however ramen tasted like store brought packs. Chicken and rice combos are the best.

Die Restaurants Soban und Cocdec gehören zusammen. Leider ist es so: das Hühnchen gibt es nur im Cocodec und alles andere gibt es in Soban. So war es problematisch, weil einer von uns eigentlich kein frittiertes Hühnchen mag. Sie waren im Soban sehr freundlich und ließen uns wieder gehen und erklärten uns den Weg zum Cocodec. Man läuft ca. 5 Minuten. Man sitzt sehr schön, mit Ausblick auf den Neckar. Sehr schön ruhig im Biergarten. Die Bedienung sprach kein Deutsch. Man bekam einen QR-Code und konnte alles auf seinem Smartphone bestellen. Scharf heißt scharf. Ich hatte allerdings Glück: meins wurde durch feine Chillistreifen geschärft, so dass man das in dem Reis abkratzen konnte. So ließ es sich erträglich essen. Bei dem anderen Essen musste man schon die Panade runterkratzen, bevor man es essen konnte. Am Besten den eingelegten Rettich (sehr lecker) nicht sofort essen, sondern warten und ihn als Neutralisierer nutzen. Viel asiatisches Publikum. Das ist ein gutes Zeichen.

The chicken is delicious, but I think the fries are too fried and too dry. As for the wedge potatoes... (I think there are several reviews saying they are dry), I think it would be better if the potatoes were a little bigger. The seasoning was spicy and delicious^^ Korean food is so delicious and I love it. This part is disappointing. Next time, I want to eat more moist chicken.

Food was very tasty. Service was a bit slow, we had to wait for one hour after ordering eve though not so many people. Recommend to the one who is not in hurry.

Starters and main course were brought together so that the plates almost fell off the table. Unfortunately, the chicken was fried to death and very dry, and the breading was sometimes rock hard. The salad (leaf lettuce with corn and olives) didn't fit at all with the rest (Korean) and looked different on the menu. Service is firstly mediocre at best. They don't respond well. Them food, Rameyon is basically instant noodles, I ordered tea which is basically from a packet which I can buy at supermarket. Even chicken wasn't that delicious. Overall not a good resturant
