Restaurant Ochsen in Stuttgart

We were there for lunch after a hike. Quite full. Still friendly, fast and very tasty

My wife and I have wanted to eat here for ages. This was due to a report in the Stuttgarter Zeitung that the Ochsen would not increase the prices due to the VAT increase. So the food is really affordable. This does not come at the expense of quality and portion size. I had a roast for €23.50. The roast was very well fried, the sauce was a dream and fried potatoes that lived up to the name. They had spent enough time in the pan. There are also fine wines and good digistifs.

We were well looked after here, regional German cuisine, absolutely recommended.

We were here for a family celebration. If you want to stop at the Ochsen, you must make a reservation in advance, as the restaurant is always busy. Portions are plentiful and you can tell that people cook here without finished products and that the chef knows his craft. All my guests liked and enjoyed it.

A really great restaurant, I was really pleasantly surprised to find such a cozy place these days. So the food was really delicious, drinks and menu overview, everything was consistent. Service was good, we really liked it. Prices are okay. We'd love to come back.

Have been here several times and have always been satisfied. The food is very tasty and the service staff are nice and accommodating. In the pictures there are small portions of onion roast and pork fillet slices.

Food very good. Neck steak was a bit too dry, but that's a matter of taste. He was overwhelmed, inattentive, incompetent and arrogant. No one asked if there was anything else they would like. Sometimes we ordered from a colleague. At the end they even charged us more for a wine. Conclusion - Locally good, service ruins everything.

Come here a few times a year. The food and service is top, we always enjoy coming here. We can't complain at all. If you want very good German cuisine, you have to come here!! Very high praise for the service, as well as the kitchen!

Home cooking in large portions, very polite service. I would actually only deduct half a star, but unfortunately that's not possible. The deduction because the entire outdoor area was reserved for the start of the catering and you could only sit inside. This has no influence on the good food, but I would have liked it if there were seating in the beer garden for a nightcap. Otherwise highly recommended!👍

We were there for dinner with a larger group of 9 people. The food is really very good. In my opinion, the waitresses (2 waiters and 1 waitress) were sufficient for the number of guests. However, our waiter wasn't as committed as would be appropriate given the prices in the restaurant. Long waiting times for him to arrive, chewing gum and a grumpy facial expression unfortunately lead to my 3* rating

So far, visiting the restaurant has always been an extraordinary experience. Large portions, good value for money and nice atmosphere. The service in particular stood out positively in the past. It has to be said that in the past we have visited the restaurant during the week. Unfortunately, on Friday/weekend the service was not comparable but normal. When entering the restaurant there was a loud argument between the employees instead of getting the guests to their seats. The waiters clearly showed that they were stressed. We sat in the next room in the breakfast area despite having a reservation and it seemed like we were an additional burden on a turbulent weekend evening. Setting the tables for breakfast the next day also changed the mood while eating and made it seem like you had to slowly leave the area. Unfortunately, the ambience was not comparable to the restaurant area. Therefore, unfortunately only four stars instead of the usual five and the recommendation to visit the restaurant during the week.

Very, very friendly and attentive service team, you can really tell that they enjoy their work. The restaurant was busy and if I hadn't made a reservation at 6:30 p.m., we would have been out of luck. So always call in good time. Roast roast with fried potatoes, turkey schnitzel with fruit and walnut rice in a delicious curry cream sauce are delicious. We often go to the Ochsen and we can only recommend all the dishes we have eaten so far.

Valentine's Day 2024. Full house. But that's how it should be. We have reserved seats and menu (see picture) in advance. For the incredibly delicious starter, we chose the lentils and instead received lukewarm tomato ragout with fresh mushrooms and salad with the fish. To put in, melt away and even better. Veal steak for the main course was so on point and super tender. Potatoes and vegetables are great with it. And the mousse for dessert? We ordered extra to take home! So delicious. So fluffy. Overall = Simply awesome. Despite the longer journey = we would love to come back! A very warm greeting to the entire team including the kitchen. We were and are thrilled. Best regards

We've been there for the second time now and there was no more daily food. Once at 12.30 p.m. and today even at 12 p.m. Where is there something like that? The restaurant opens at 11.30 a.m. and at 12 p.m. there is no longer any daily food!!! We were told that too much had been ordered outside the house. Normally the operation in the restaurant has priority and not the ordering service? Especially since we had reserved a table. The day's meal had not been crossed out on the outside of the food table. Somehow it seems to me as if it was a scam to lure guests into the restaurant and then have them eat something from the normal menu. We definitely won't go there again.

There were a few problems with the orders, but that made up for everything else, the food was very good and the service was very friendly, but they forgot and mixed up a lot of things, despite everything, absolutely recommended

You are stupid to the whole team and especially to the chef and everyone in the kitchen. No matter what you order from your menu, it is an absolute culinary delight. I ate a delicious steak there. The portion of fries was (positively) surprisingly large. The service was extremely good. Here you could see how well trained the service was. Very positive to note! The prices are also very fair.

Walliser Filetspitzen. mit Pfifferlingen und Berner Rösti , waren eine recht fade Angelegenheit. Eine echte Enttäuschung.

Waren heute mit unserem 49 Euro Ticket unterwegs und sind im Restaurent Ochsen in Stgt.-Wangen eingekehrt. Haben Zwiebelrostbraten mit Bartkartoffeln und gemischten Salat gegessen. Das Essen war super lecker. Schon lange keinen so guten Rostbraten mehr gegessen. Wir werden auf alle Fälle wieder kommen.

Ich berichte hier von den Erfahrungen meines Mannes, der dort gegessen hat und äußerst zufrieden war. Das Essen war sehr gut und der Service zuvorkommend. Wer schwäbisch essen möchte oder gerne Wild isst, macht mit der Wahl dieser Gaststätte nichts falsch.

Zwiebelrostbraten mit Bratkartoffeln und Salat 👍

Auf die Frage wo man in Stuttgart noch gut schwäbisch Essen gehen kann lautet die Antwort: HIER! Es stimmt einfach alles - super Service, tolles Essen und die Preise sind angemessen. Der Preis für die Gans erschien uns erst etwas hoch aber ich ziehe meinen Hut vor dem Nachbartisch, die Gans bestellt hatten und die Teller leer gemacht haben. Das war kein Gänschen, das war mehr ein Elefant und reicht meines Erachtens nach auch für zwei Personen (mit Monsterknödel). Der Rostbraten ist top. Maultaschensuppe perfekt. Salate perfekt. Das Schweinerückensteak mit Spätzle, Pilzen und Rahmsauce ein Gedicht. Tisch sollte man reservieren, da es abends wirklich voll wird (keine Sorge das Personal ist auch top und schwirrt ständig um einen rum - die bekommen auch bei einem vollen Laden einen super Service hin). Alle Daumen nach oben! Wirklich tolles Restaurant.

Absolument incontournable si vous désirez goûter à la VRAIE cuisine allemande. L’ambiance, la décoration, et évidemment, la cuisine, vous offrent à elles seules, un voyage complet au travers de la culture sud allemande. A ne pas manquer.

Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Abend in diesem Restaurant. Das Essen war perfekt zubereitet und das Personal war sehr aufmerksam. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

War in drei Wochen bereits zum dritten Mal im Restaurant und es war jedes Mal super lecker und ein super Service. Wer einen schönen Abend und ein herrliches Essen genießen möchte ist beim Ochsen genau richtig. Absolute Empfehlung. Preis Leitung ist unschlagbar. Essensportionen mehr als üppig, wer es nicht schafft bekommt eine Pfand Rebowl Schale. Tipp vom Schwaben einfach die eigene Tupper mitbringen und einpacken (war ich nicht die einzige :-)). Auch kein Problem. So hat man von einem leckeren Mittagessen noch was für den Abend.

Wenn wir unseren Sohn in Stuttgart besuchen, gehen wir gerne im Ochsen essen. Wir freuen uns, die schmackhaften Speisen und das gemütliche Ambiente zu genießen. Allerdings hat diesmal der Service geschwächelt, ohne zu fragen wurde die große Cola serviert, nach dem Essen wortlos die Speisekarte für das Dessert auf den Tisch gelegt. Wenn, man als Gast das Gefühl hat zu stören, geht irgendwas schief.

Schönes Restaurant mit einem gemütlichen Ambiente. Der Service ist hervorragend sowie das Essen. Wir kommen immer wieder sehr gerne. Abwechslung bringt auch die Monatskarte. Große Auswahl an guten Weinen und sonstigen Getränken. Top macht weiter so.

Meine Familie und ich kommen gerne und oft hierher une empfehlen es auch immer an Freunde weiter. Unserer Meinung nach das Beste Gasthaus mit den leckersten schwäbischen Spezialitäten. Preis - Leistung auch super und der Service ist immer nett und bemüht und immer für ein Witzle zu haben.

Immer wieder kommen wir in dieses Lokal, das rundum zufrieden stellt: im rustikalen trotzdem hell gehaltenen Ambiente - gestern fanden wir nur noch Platz im Frühstücksraum, der jedoch auch sehr nett eingerichtet und keineswegs Notlösung ist - mit der Proffessionalität und Freundlichkeit der gehabten weiblichen Bedienung - und natürlich vor allem dem hervorragenden Essens -Qualitäts-Angebot... gestern in Wiederholung der Rostbraten, auf den Punkt medium serviert , gross mit vielen guten geschmorten Zwiebeln und guter Sosse! Und das zu einem in der heutigen Zeit idealen Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis! Wir kommen immer wieder gerne in dieses Kleinod... aber natürlich nur mit vorheriger Reservierung - denn nicht nur WIR wissen von dieser Empfehlung!

Tolle schwäbische Küche in uriger Atmosphäre. Highlight war der Ochsenteller (Rostbraten, Maultaschen, Käsespätzle) sowie der unglaublich nette Service.

Auf einer Dienstreise nach Baden-Württemberg sind mein Kollege und ich in diesem Restaurant eingekehrt. Das Restaurant war sehr voll. Alle Plätze waren vergeben. Wir haben aber zwei Plätze an der Bar bekommen, wo wir unsere Speisen auch zu uns nehmen konnten. Das Essen war ausgezeichnet, alles frisch zubereitet und mehr als reichlich, wir haben zwei Vorspeisen, eine Tomatensuppe und einer Ochsensuppe gegessen, zum Hauptgericht hatten wir Zwiebelrostbraten mit Käsespätzle und Maul Tischler. Zzgl. Vier Bier und zwei Obstler waren wir in Summe bei 70 €. Das ist wirklich ein guter Preis. Wir können das Restaurant vorbehaltlos, weiter empfehlen und kommen gerne wieder.

Kann nur empfehlen! Herzlichen Empfang deutlich darüber hinaus, was man erwarten kann... Unglaublich frisch und hochwertig zubereitetes Essen, fantastisch! Gerne, immer wieder!

Gut bürgerliches Lokl,schwäbische Küche,super Service

Мы забежали в ресторан за 3 минуты до закрытия кухни. Но нас все равно обслужили и подали очень вкусную пасту с рыбой. Порция была большая, но настолько вкусно, что пришлось все съесть. Кофе также был вкусный и все очень доступно по цене. Паста с рыбой (лосось) на обошлась до 22 евро, кофе 2.5 евро. Овощной салат 5 евро. Нас обслуживала милая Фрау, которая была очень любезна и дружелюбна. В ресторане и туалете все было очень чисто и опрятно. Рекомендую.

Wer gute deutsche Küche liebt ist hier sehr gut aufgehoben. Ich habe dort (als Hotelgast) mehrere Male gegessen und war rundum zufrieden. Gute Portionen, sehr schmackhaft mit auch monatlich wechselnder Zusatzkarte. Das Kürbisschnitzel im Oktober war toll und die Kürbis-Sahnenudeln erstklassig. Personal war schnell, freundlich und immer sehr zuvorkommend. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis ist angemessen und nicht überzogen. Da das Restaurant gut besucht ist, sollte man reservieren.

Wir waren dort zum Mittagessen. In urigen Einrichtung kann man im Hotelrestaurant leckere schwäbische Gerichte genießen. Der Ochsenteller war super, der Zwiebelrostbraten bei Medium auf den Punkt. Das Personal ist äußert zuvorkommend und sehr schnell! Eine nachbestellte Soße war nach nicht mal 1 Minute am Tisch. Richtig klasse. P/L ist ebenfalls gut. Klare Empfehlung.

Wir waren zu sechst und bekamen auf der Terrasse einen ausreichend großen Tisch zugewiesen. Zwei von uns aßen das gleiche Gericht, ansonsten jeder etwas anderes. Allen hat es gut geschmeckt, die Preise sind wie andernorts auch höher, als vor Corona, aber der Leistung angemessen. Die Bedienung war freundlich und flott. Das einzige Manko, das erwähnt werden muss, ist der Preis von 6€ für 1 Flasche Sprudel! Es wird ja allenthalben bemängelt, dass alkoholfreie Getränke im Gegensatz zu alkoholischen vielerorts viel zu teuer sind. Das trifft hier auf jeden Fall auch zu. Wenn 0,5 l Bier 4,50 € und 1/4 l Wein 5 € kosten, der Sprudel dagegen 6 €, dann müsste das dringend überdacht werden. Abgesehen davon, dass ich so einen horrenden Preis noch in keinem Restaurant bezahlt habe.

We arrived in good time before the announced closing on the website. We asked if it was possible to eat, but were told that they had closed the restaurant and the kitchen was already cleaned. We planned to eat there after a whole day of driving. If you expect to get a meal during business hours visit another restaurant. Unfriendly and not according to information posted on the website.

Cenamos comida típica alemana, EXQUISITA!!. Muy bien atendidos, buenos platos, cantidad suficiente, en un ambiente cultural tradicional. Volveremos a este restaurant, cuando estemos en Stuttgart.
