Restaurant Nikopolis in Volkach

Friendly staff, the interior ambiance could be nicer, but the small beer garden in the courtyard is nicely done. The food is okay, the meat was very juicy, but the garlic potatoes that come with almost every dish are a bit too garlicky, and the salad on the side is so-so. Overall, it's okay, but there's still room for improvement. I can still recommend it.

We spontaneously dropped in today to eat. When we walked in, no hello. We were just told that everything outside was taken and a table was by the entrance. OK, no reservation, that was a stupid move. Half an hour after the four of us, the question was whether to sit outside or inside. The food was OK. The table next to us had a salad with tomato and olives, but I couldn't find any on our salad. The gyro with Metaxa sauce was definitely not to be recommended. All in all, I've never eaten something so bad. And friendly is something else entirely. We were given a red liqueur as a welcome. The woman at the next table probably only got ouzo for friends. In conclusion, we will definitely never eat here again!!!!!!

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. During normal weekday business, we waited half an hour for drinks and an hour for food with small children. Unfortunately, the food was mostly instant (tzatziki and garlic sauce). A real shame!

We were there last year, and the food was really delicious, and the service was great. This year, the exact opposite: the food was a flop, and I can't say anything about the service; it couldn't have been worse. We definitely won't be visiting this restaurant again!

Unfortunately, we had to wait a very long time; the dog wasn't offered any water. The food took a very long time. The taste was okay. The service, unfortunately, wasn't great.

Contrary to other previous descriptions, the two of us suddenly couldn't find a seat either inside or outside at 5:15 p.m. on a Sunday. Seats inside or outside wouldn't be available until 7:30 p.m. At that time, about one-third of the seats in the courtyard were occupied. No one was sitting inside. What a pity...

A quarter of us were there with a gourmet block, having made a reservation a week ago. When we arrived, a few chairs were hastily gathered and pushed to a table. This table was apparently a reserve table, which hadn't been wiped down either. The drinks came quickly and the food came out quite quickly, but unfortunately, the Konobi potatoes also landed on the table. I had calamari with garlic potatoes; the calamari was too soft and very tasteless, the breading was too light. None of the other three diners were satisfied; all the dishes lacked a burst of flavor. The service was almost okay; we were here a few months ago and the food was much better. So, for a Greek restaurant, the price for the calamari, garlic potatoes, and the tart coleslaw was not reasonable. That was our last visit. We were very disappointed.

A very warm welcome, very friendly and attentive service, and truly good, authentic food. Excellent value for money. Thank you for the lovely time we spent with you. We and our dogs felt very comfortable and will definitely be back.

We had a very good meal here today. We sat comfortably in the beer garden in the back courtyard. We discovered this restaurant through the "mobile gourmet block"! Definitely recommended!

We were here three years ago, and it was more cozy. The restaurant has since become a mass-production place. Our order was hastily slammed onto our table. The food was good, but the portions were smaller and therefore more expensive. We probably won't go back; the nice Greek atmosphere is really missing...

I had the opportunity to work in this restaurant on February 1-2, 2025, unfortunately I have very negative feelings. I was not paid my due salary, I was fired in the middle of the night, in the frost of -6C and without the possibility of returning, the first bus leaves at 6 am, I was required to take out garbage from the toilets with my bare hands, without changing disposable bags. They also remove negative comments. I am renewing the opinion, which is systematically removed to warn others against working in this restaurant. In February, they needed an additional employee only for those two days, because they had a party, they use lies and manipulation, they exploit people

The food was overpriced, the side salad was just iceberg lettuce, a bit of coleslaw, a bit of carrot salad, no bread, and the portions were far too small for the price. No comparison to the Greek restaurants in Kitzingen.

We were here again after a long time. This time with the gourmet package. Apparently, there are distinctions made when you come with the gourmet package. Our salads weren't Greek at all. No olives, pepperoni, cucumber, or tomato. Another guest got a salad with everything. Also, it seems like someone else is cooking. You can definitely tell by the taste. The food was pretty tasteless. No real garlic on the potatoes either. It's a shame the quality has changed so much. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere in the courtyard.

The atmosphere is nice, but unfortunately the portions are far too small for the absolutely high price! Unfortunately the price/performance ratio is not right here.

As always, the food was delicious and the ambience is also nice and it's great that you have so many parking spaces and seats. When you're there, you usually get a place with two people and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. I just think it's a shame that it's sometimes so difficult to book a table. In other words, to reach them and if something goes wrong or it takes longer, it would be nice if the staff would admit it and compensate, but otherwise I was very satisfied and would go there again.

The food was okay. A joke for the price. We were there with the gourmet block and had a meal for €18 and unfortunately it wasn't worth the money. First of all, Zatziki for €6 🤦‍♀️ The calamari was very tasty. The staff very friendly. It's not expensive but very expensive.

The tenant in this restaurant must have changed. Went to the restaurant in the evening and there were only 2 guests. That should say it all. The gyros we ordered with fries and salad were hard to eat, The gyros tasted like old meat, absolutely no taste, the worst gyros I've ever eaten in my life. The fries without salt or seasoning, just bland. The salad was also really bad, everything was so dry. And the whole thing cost 50 euros twice with 0.4 liter spritzer. I will never enter this restaurant again. The meat almost made me sick. I actually couldn't get the stuff down The gyro was so DISGUSTING. Absolutely no stars! And it was really cold in the restaurant too. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone just like Mirko Reeh always says in the RTL restaurant test: "Disastrous and Disgusting"

“Food is almost ready” The saying of a disappointing evening... First we had to wait for three quarters of an hour(!) before we could order drinks, even though there really wasn't much going on.. Requests for food were immediately accepted. 40 minutes later the landlord came again to check the orders?! After another hour and all the “food is almost ready” sayings, the taste disappointment arrived on the plate (see picture). Extremely exorbitant price and poor taste...we won't be able to get back here any time soon.

For over €20, this plate is probably a bad joke. Gyros were also of poor quality, totally flaxy. I'm happy to pay more for good quality, but the ratio between price and performance simply doesn't work at all. The restaurant itself and the service were okay, but the food is really not recommended.

We became aware of the restaurant through the Schlemmerblock. The staff was very friendly and we were greeted with our own creation of ouzo. The food was very tasty and the portion size was also right. We ordered the pepperoni starter with the main course and got a large, very tasty portion. Highly recommended Greek in Volkach!

Went there for dinner today with the Schlemmerbock. The drinks and food came pretty quickly. Unfortunately, you noticed that in the food. The gyros was only lukewarm and very salty. Some of the garlic potatoes were very firm to the bite and seemed like they had been thrown into the fryer for a second time. Bifteki very oily. The portion of tzatziki is unfortunately very small compared to other Greek restaurants in the area. Compared to the price and other restaurants, our dishes are smaller, more expensive and not for those who are really hungry (but it also depends on the person, but for me it's a bit small). Probably won't eat there again. The service was OK and the ambience is simple but also OK.

Overall, the food was carelessly prepared! The location is decorated in a typically Greek style. You sit very close to the neighboring tables and the smell from the kitchen wafts through the entire room. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed!

The three of us were there last week. Wanted to order 4 for 2 with Schlemmerblock. Because the fourth person was sick, I asked if we could bring food for the fourth person. The landlord was short and unfriendly and said no, the person has to sit there live. All right, Mr. Host, and we were with you for the first and last time.

I've been to this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed. The food and service are always very good. There is nothing you can do about the wasps, there is no deduction for that. However, the furniture is a bit old. But that doesn't detract from the fact that I would happily go there again at any time. Unfortunately I'm missing moussaka on the menu, but I'd like to try it.

The service staff was super nice and covered a few kilometers that evening - you have to find such dedicated and friendly staff 👍 The food was delicious and what you would expect in a typical Greek restaurant in Germany. The highlight for us was the olive oil that was used in the farmer's salad - it was of great quality and tasted delicious. We found the serving style a bit careless and the ambience was also getting old. But we would still come back 👍

As a starter we had Saganaki which was very tasty and really big for the price. For the main course we both had the Lukulus, which was very good, but the Bifteki was unfortunately very dry and the Tzatziki was a bit small for the portion of meat and potatoes!

We were a large group and ate here purely by chance and were very surprised. A very friendly staff, delicious Greek but slightly Germanized food and a beautiful beer garden where it is very cozy. The food came very quickly and plentifully. To start with, a rose drink enriched with ouzo is served. It was too sweet for me. Personally, I would have preferred a real ouzo after the meal. But we all went home full and satisfied.

This restaurant offers a fairly large selection of Greek specialties including in many different combination plates. We had a table of six and were pleased with the service and the quality of the food. As an American, I found the pricing quite moderate and the portion sizes satisfactory.

Nice Greek restaurant Prices in the upper segment

We were here for the first time. Very pleasant from the outside as well as inside. The rooms are suitably stylish but not overly furnished. Pleasant noise climate thanks to several small partition walls in the catering area. Staff very friendly, helpful and German speaking. Menu has a very good selection of everything. The food is fresh, very good quality and tastes very good. Portions are absolutely sufficient. In the summer months the local beer garden is also open, where you can also sit comfortably and eat/drink. There are steps in the guest room/entrance area.

Were there for dinner. There were enough parking spaces in front of the door. Service was very nice and also on point. Ambiance is loving, almost a bit too much of a good thing. But only almost. Very good food, nice restaurant and friendly staff. The food was plentiful and good, the prices were reasonable given the generally higher costs. There was a salad with it, which I think was very good. Unfortunately there was no ouzo that day, but a red colored short, I like the old tradition of an ouzo on the house.
