I definitely can't recommend the Sunday brunch! The tables weren't clean, the brunch was just breakfast, the scrambled eggs were too salty, the rolls were the simplest baked rolls and the sausage and cheese at the buffet were already dried on the edges. The staff initially didn't understand the question about milk for coffee. I should pour myself milk from the large carafe at the buffet. A little later, jugs arrived on the table, but they (like the thermos flasks) were completely stained. Overall very unappetizing and the service was poor. I don't even want to talk about the toilets! It's a shame...the ambience is generally nice, but the implementation is unsustainable. I will definitely not visit the restaurant again.

We were in the restaurant as part of an invitation from a member of the Bundestag and I really have to say it was underground. Dirty, staff manageably friendly and the food, well. Carelessly presented, not very seasoned and overall just not appealing. No recommendation and any fast food would have been better.

Nice looking old or even older but it's pretty run down. We were invited, there was supposed to be a buffet. Lukewarm broccoli soup, some dumplings, stale bread, something with spinach, all bland and bad. "It's sometimes better not to eat than to eat there."

Place with typical Berlin charm. There was very little going on on Sunday evening, Alt-Moabit is no longer the center despite its proximity to the main train station. This emptiness is now typical for large German cities.

Beautiful traditional restaurant with old West Berlin charm. Unfortunately, the kitchen lacks the old flair and the food is no more than average, even if you notice the effort. On a Friday evening we were the only guests. That irritated us a bit. Too bad. The restaurant deserves more popularity.

Es gibt, abgesehen von der bekannten Schillerklause, in Berlin nicht mehr allzu viele Lokale mit Alt-Berliner Flair, wo nicht allein mehr oder weniger große Mengen Bier konsumiert werden, sondern auch niveauvoll gespeist wird, ohne daß das Angebot extrem touristenorientiert ist wie in der Gegend Unter den Linden / Friedrichstraße. Das Neumann's ist noch so eine Wohlfühlgaststätte der älteren Art mit angenehmem Innen-Ambiente. Alt-Moabit ist weder eine sprichwörtliche Ausgehmeile noch ein Touristen-Hotspot, was den Besuch angenehm macht und den Geldbeutel ein wenig schont. Neben der festen Karte gibt es hier "Spezialitäten des Monats" und das war kürzlich naturgemäß ein spezielles Weihnachtsangebot. Zu unserem Erstaunen lag diese Sonderkarte jetzt (Ende Januar) immer noch bei und so bestellten wir Gänsekeule. Eine etwas absurde Situation, denn der freundliche, sprachlich etwas schwer zu verstehende Kellner verwies darauf, daß es mit der Weihnachtskarte vorbei sei. Unsere Frage, warum dann diese Angebote dem Gast vorgelegt werden und dieses einliegende Blatt nicht einfach entfernt wird, konnte er zwar nicht beantworten, meinte aber überraschenderweise, er prüfe einmal in der Küche, ob es nicht vielleicht doch Gänsekeule gebe. Und tatsächlich gab es sie, sehr zu unserer Freude... Die Qualität war im besten Sinne grundsolide -- das Geflügelfleisch zwar sehr mager und etwas arg trocken, aber knusprig und von hervorragendem Geschmack mit einer leckeren Orangensauce und einem feinen Kartoffelkloß. Eigentlich kann man als Beilage entweder Grün- oder Rotkohl wählen. Ich hätte Grünkohl bevorzugt, wurde aber nicht gefragt und vergaß im entscheidenden Moment, die Bitte darob auszusprechen. Erwartungsgemäß wurde dann Rotkohl serviert, was mich aber sofort versöhnte, weil das so gut schmeckte. Er war sehr weich und von recht süßlicher Geschmacksnote, was vermutlich nicht jeder so mag, ich persönlich jedoch schon. Zuvor hatte mir eine Spinatcremesuppe mit Sahne und geräuchertem Lachs ebenfalls sehr gefallen. Daß wir von dem freundlichen Kellner danach binnen einer Stunde zehnmal (ich habe mitgezählt) gefragt wurden, ob wir noch etwas bestellen wollten, nervte allerdings ziemlich. Es kann nicht daran gelegen haben, daß unser Platz dringend benötigt worden wäre, denn außer uns waren nur zwei weitere Gäste in der Gaststätte, die ihr Essen genossen.

Wir waren auf der Durchreise eine Nacht in Berlin. Auf der Suche nach einem Restaurant zum Abendessen fanden wir das Neumann's und weil wir solch urige Kneipen sehr schätzen, kamen wir hierher. Ohne Reservierung bekamen wir spontan einen schönen Platz, der Service war sehr freundlich, das Bier lecker und das ganze Ambiente bot viel für's Auge. Ständig entdeckten wir in der Deko neue witzige Highlights. ;-) Zum Essen hatte ich mir ein Bauernomelette bestellt. Das schmeckte sehr gut, wurde schön im Pfännchen serviert und der Salat dazu mit lecker Senfsoße schmeckte ebenfalls sehr gut. Sollten wir wieder einmal hier in der Nähe sein, kommen wir sehr gerne wieder hierher!

The atmosphere is very cozy. Nice place to have a drink. The service is very polite and accommodating. Unfortunately, the food was so bad that it was only enough for one star in the overall rating. Since this would actually be too much, the overall rating is only one star despite the service and the very nice ambience. I'll attach 2 pictures later. Image 1. I got a steak and fries. And yes, the experienced observer will notice that it was brought without fries. Not so bad, it was added to over the course of the evening. It is also noticeable that the size of the approximately 1 cm thick steak seems very strange. I then let the plate go back. The staff recognized the problem themselves and apologized for it. Image 2 As you can see, I got a new steak, even with fries, although the size didn't increase exponentially, but this time the thickness was like a steak. It should also be mentioned that the plate that was returned was filled with a new piece of meat and fries. As you can tell from the salad and herb butter. I don't know that from other restaurants.

Not mine anymore. I used to rarely go to Neumanns, but I liked it. This time I had to wait 25 minutes until I was discovered as a customer. But that was only when I changed my mind. The pumpkin soup wasn't to my taste either. Well, it's just a matter of taste 🤷 I go there even less now 😏.

The menu is small, so you can always find something tasty without having to change your mind three times.

Admittedly, we were a larger group, but the first drinks came after 20 minutes and the last person got their food after about 75 minutes. The large breakfast was advertised as including yogurt and ham. The yogurt was missing and the ham was a slice of bacon with more fat than bacon. When I asked the waiter about it, he said it was our ham and he couldn't say anything about the missing yoghurt, he'd let his boss know. But that was it. The best thing was the big pot of coffee, at least it tasted good. The last time I was there was about 22 years ago and it was much better...

The good thing first: the atmosphere in this restaurant is very rustic. The service is ok so far. For my taste, the food was a disaster and not worth the money. A thin "spinach cream soup" that only tasted like asparagus, pork medallions that were twice dead in a thick, industrial-tasting roux and croquettes that don't deserve their name... everything was somehow unseasoned... but everyone experiences taste differently ...but from our point of view you can save yourself the restaurant

Drinks were flat, no gas at all. Food was not that great. Salad was super dry. Nobody bothered to ask how the steak is preffered. Wont be visiting this establishment agan.

The restaurant deserves a 3- the food tastes good but it has something of the ready-made food that would only be warmed up for the prices that are quoted a bit disappointing the service is friendly but it seems a bit overwhelmed if you go there in a large group It's very remote, you can't reach it by car because there are no parking spaces there, but the restaurant can't do anything about it. All in all, it's a 3- but there's still room for improvement

Three sets: spinach soup, assorted sausage, and dessert. The soup is a little salty, but it goes well with beer. Sausage is served with sauerkraut. The taste is average, but the sausage, which is probably made with liver (?), has an indescribable flavor that you can't taste in Japan, so it's likely that you won't like it. I'm a little weak at this category. The beer is undeniably delicious, so I think it's a great place to satisfy the desire to ``eat a German-style meal.''

Me alojaba en el hotel de al lado, así que este se convirtió en mi local para una cerveza y también cené aquí. Aunque el personal parecía poco interesado en los clientes, me pareció que la comida y la bebida eran buenas. Si bien hay una decoración agradable y asientos en el interior, casi todos eligieron sentarse al aire libre. Hay dos menús, uno de abundantes platos de carne tradicionales alemanes y otro que es vegetariano. Mi plato vegetariano estaba delicioso y ahora estoy tratando de recrearlo en casa.

I liked both the food and the ambience. There was absolutely nothing to complain about in terms of service. I'm actually surprised at the rather bad reviews and can't confirm them.

If I hadn't had a meeting with a friend, I would have left the restaurant immediately. Many plates and cups were not clean, especially the cups - not only did they have different sizes and shapes, but they also had dirty water stains. The coffee was a disaster; I have never drunk worse coffee, and there were still unwashed coffee residues in the cup. The eggs were 3PL quality, and I already doubt the healthiness of 2DE eggs. About the food: After I ate, I was thirsty and had stomach cramps until the evening - I think I got food poisoning. The people in the restaurant generally didn't seem very hygienic, especially those coming from the kitchen. This really spoiled my appetite. The only positive was the friendly service, but I come to enjoy healthy food, not to get food poisoning! I won't come back.

It smells terrible of urine in this restaurant! The quality of the meat is subpar and you sometimes end up with spoiled food! Whoever goes there has only themselves to blame! Guys, save your money and go eat in a nice restaurant where you won't get spoiled food!

The ambience was very good and nice when I visited. You could have a great time here if it weren't for the food. So as written, DURING MY VISIT with friends on September 1st, 2024 around 11 a.m., the breakfast buffet was the worst I/we have ever had. Drinks were included in the price and as much as you wanted, but only normal coffee, for milk coffee etc. I had to pay 1 euro more per cup. The buffet itself was very bad. The salmon was very dry, there were two types of sausage, and cheese like that. There was only 1 type of jam in a portion pack. The fried eggs were dried out, the scrambled eggs were just the same, and the bacon was only lukewarm. Also warm things - there were dry ChingenWings and dry meatballs. Dessert - red jelly with vanilla sauce that tasted very chemically. Conclusion ! - On my visit the breakfast buffet was not worth the money and the advertising board was misleading. The service was also very bad - if we wanted a drink we had to keep reporting to the counter. Price reading - very bad Otherwise the restaurant was very clean and cozy. The interior design really suits an old Berlin restaurant - very well done.

Was here about a week ago and everything was nice and the food was delicious. Unfortunately there wasn't much going on but it was probably still early. The service was very nice, even though the lady didn't seem to understand everything... but whatever... this is Berlin... luckily it's a multicultural city... The "Italian" penne that I ate was actually not accurate Italian but no matter very tasty and perfectly cooked..... just a little too high the prices..

This restaurant is unfriendly, the food is what is stated on the menu. A traditional restaurant which is popular with the locals. The food was good for the price. There is lots of indoor and outdoor seating. We watched a EUROs game here which went into extra time and while the bar was closed they did let us stick around to catch the whole match. Appreciate this as they probably just wanted to clean up and go home.

This was a particularly bad experience - the tables had not been washed for a long time, it seemed. No other guests in the middle of the day, but it still took forever to get food. Ordered an omelette, but this didn't look much like an omelette - just scrambled eggs with bits of potato on top. A lot of mushrooms that did NOT taste good. Even cola without sugar tasted bad. Steer clear is my clear advice.

I had on May 22nd. Ordered Zurich Geschnetzeltes for lunch. 2.5 hours later, hell on earth broke loose for me. The meat was clearly bad and I had very bad food poisoning. Will never order there again...

The waitress didn't understand what I wanted at all, after a long period of instructing and discussing the coffee worked, unfortunately it tasted terrible, the beer was ordered small but delivered large and tasted stale and stale, we left half of both and left again . We used to like to go here for breakfast, but today was the last time. A hygiene disaster like no other. I can hardly define whether my stomach turned from the food afterwards, even though I had to leave more than half of it, out of disgust, or from the toilet situation. Dirt as far as the eye can see and a changing mat for the little ones that cannot be used due to the dirt and feces that have already dried out. If you could give minus stars, I would be there! Never again!

The food was so-so, prepared for a group in bain marie. From time to time something was missing and the dishes were not kept up to date. The service was ok, but they didn't give receipts for drinks. Not very clean. It is not cheap compared to the level of the restaurant.

I was there on Tuesday, April 16th as a guest of the BPA trip. The service was totally bad. One waiter didn't say a word at all, the other one was barely understood. One was wearing an unclean sweater, the other had a cap on. While my colleague was still sipping his soup during the starter, the waiter wanted to take the plate out of his hand. The lunch tasted ok, but the portions were small. The pork medallions were on a plate the size of a 2 euro coin. Plus 4 croquettes and a few biscuits. Unfortunately not enough. Wrong drinks came to the place. Unfortunately the restaurant has run down a bit, it feels like the grease on the wall has been painted over. The pub would actually be great for drinking beer, but unfortunately it's too dingy to eat. Last but not least, three passengers had stomach aches and one even had to vomit. Since the shop looked so rancid, a fellow passenger took a quick look at the kitchen; at first glance, it looked clean.

Unfortunately the feeling it gives is not that of a clean place. Table with various dust, salt residues, the bread clearly not fresh with small flies buzzing on it. Passing through Berlin with a hotel right above, I arrive at 9pm and don't want to move too much, so I fall back on this place by ordering a schnitzel with mushrooms and potatoes and a beer. The cutlet itself was good, mushrooms immersed in a liquid stuff with an unpleasant aftertaste that I didn't have the courage to eat. Enough potatoes, good beer. The bill is 19.80 euros. Still friendly service.

I quote from the homepage: "We are a typical old Berlin restaurant with first-class Berlin cuisine". The quality of the kitchen has nothing to do with first-class. The Vietnamese waitress could barely speak German and was very young, but tried hard. The limp pork knuckle was served without asking with red cabbage instead of sauerkraut. The mustard was also missing... The supposed boss lounged listlessly on the sofa in front. It's a shame, the restaurant with its rustic decor had a lot of potential.

A cozy vintage style restaurant in Berlin. It is owned by an Indian family. The people there are quite warm and friendly. Food is delicious too. I would surely recommend everyone to try this restaurant.

First of all, the environment smells deeply and smells of dirt, the tables are not even cleaned when customers change. The mode is buffet dinner. The service is non-existent, except for the waiters taking away the plates (I was having a plate taken away that I was "trying" to eat. Cutlery, plates, bowls and glasses ARE NOT WASHED. The dishes, all the dishes, almost all, have dirty stains and remnants of encrusted food. The cutlery is greasy to the touch. The bowls, they are both, greasy and dirty (in this case, they were LITERALLY all dirty, I couldn't eat the "dessert" in the end) THE GLASSES ARE WASHED BY IMMERSING THEM IN A TANK OF STANNED WATER, WHICH IS NOT CHANGED FOR AN ENTIRE EVENING (I LITERALLY SAW IT WITH MY EYES). The food is almost completely inedible, the first evening I was there only the potatoes were edible, the second the fried potatoes and fried chicken nuggets. I don't recommend this experience to anyone. Honestly, I don't even know if the hygienic conditions are there for the place to remain open.

We were disappointed with our first visit to this restaurant. The tables and chairs were dirty. The cake wasn't fresh and didn't look good. He was thawed. The coffee, however, tasted good. The baked Camemberts tasted like old oil. The waiter wasn't friendly. We won't come back here.

The ambience is really authentic and beautiful. Some of the dishes were very tasty. There were a lot of mushrooms in one dish even though we asked if there were any in there.

A very nice old Berlin restaurant with wooden paneling and comfortable seating for smaller and larger groups with a separate old coat of arms room for special events such as our pub church service with around 30 visitors. We were then able to enjoy the brunch buffet with warm and cold dishes including drinks and desserts. But delicious knuckles are also served. Price-performance is very good. The old advertising signs on the walls are real treasures. The employees attentive and friendly. We'd love to come back! Parking options are few. Tram 10 stops in front of the door and Berlin Central Station is also easily accessible on foot.

Horrible restaurant. All frozen food reheated. No respect for hygiene standards: the waitress had put her finger in the food and the cutlery was left there, the water was from the tap. Nothing really has flavor
