This time it went terribly, probably change of management, rude and presumptuous waitress and dirty bathrooms. Went to this restaurant every time I went to Berlin (at least twice a year)..never again.

It's a somewhat outdated restaurant, but it still has a cozy atmosphere. The food is top and freshly prepared. I don't know the last time I ate such a delicious schnitzel. The service is not intrusive but does not lose sight of the guests either. The menu is not overly crowded, but has everything from classic dishes to vegetarians. A visit is definitely worth it.

Home-style cooking, good beer. Service very friendly. Unfortunately no card payment (2024?) and cold.

We had a very tasty meal with super friendly and attentive service. Unfortunately there are deductions for the sanitary facilities. You should definitely avoid this if possible, as it doesn't seem to be taken into account during cleaning.

First of all, the food was okay. It was neither particularly good nor particularly bad. The schnitzel was acceptable in terms of portion. The steak was ordered "rare" and unfortunately arrived "done". The waitress also didn't seem to know the difference between the individual steak stages. The currywurst was mostly okay. The service was rather sporadic and did not come to the table at regular intervals as hoped. Regarding the ambience. It is rustic and a bit old. It won't necessarily be the next "go-to" location

Delicious food from a chef. I had the pike perch with really tasty spinach. Great service, short waiting time and one star less for “ambience” because of the construction site in front of the door. “Mittmann’s” can’t help it. Interior design is rustic and simply beautiful. If the portions are too large, you can take the unfinished food with you. Take-away meals are also easily possible. I was completely satisfied.

It is a small local place. The waitress was wonderful. Beer was great. We ordered the Matje fillets "north German style" and Zwei originale Berliner Buletten. The food took over an hour to prepare so we finally asked for it to go since we had other commitment. The Matje fillets were cold, salty and rubbery. Not sure if that is how they are supposed to be since it was my first time eating them. The roast potatoes were really good. The other dish was good. They only accept cash.

Terrible service. Dirty bathrooms. Regarding food, my dog ​​eats better. We had low expectations because in Berlin they only eat sausages. But not that low. We won't be returning. One thing they know how to do: beer. And they even brought it to me hot. Aesthetically nice, typical place.

Dirty place. Dirty cutlery. The waitress told me she had Coca-Cola and gave me Pepsi. The cuisine is an insult to all the cuisines of the world. We stayed at Mittmanns for two nights and it was great! The food was very tasty and big! Thank you very much for helping me to speak German!! and finding an ATM when I only had a credit card 😂 the waitress is very nice 🙂 We ate veal liver, currywurst, hamburger schnitzel and veal schnitzel and everyone was very good! 5*

The steak au four dish is excellent, the best in all of Germany. I was a little tired of sausages and I loved this dish! Totally recommended!

A traditional German restaurant in a multi-ethnic area. Upon entering it seems like reliving the Berlin of other times. The menu is traditional Berlin with a good quality/price ratio. It is worth a visit (this is not an ironic comment) to the baths that transport you to the 1950s

Okay food for hefty prices, the young lady in service was a bit clueless, for example didn't know what Ramazzotti was?! Atmosphere quaint, overall okay, but not a highlight either.

Great German spot just a block from the Jannowitzbrücke S-Bahn stop and super easy to get to, located right on the corner! The service is really friendly and helpful when you're unsure what to order. And the atmosphere is your typical German Kneipe with locals hanging out. With lots of great traditional German options on the menu, it seems their specialties are fish. That's what my date ordered, while I opted for the Hamburger schnitzel. Both were really good! It obviously won't be the best you've ever had, but the portions are generous and the price is right. Even though we were stuffed, we couldn't resist the Kaiserschmarrn, which we got to go. Not bad at all! Very pleased with this place. If you're near Jannowitzbrücke, it's worth a pop in!

We were shown to our table by a waitress. Five minutes later, another waitress told us to move as she had private possessions on that table. We changed to another table and nobody came near us. We had to ask for a menu. Fifteen minutes later, still nobody came to serve us. We saw other tables with people also awaiting service so waited another five minutes, then we left. Very disappointing.

Yes, the shop has a rustic atmosphere - which is positive. And the business lunch seems to be very cheap... However, we were there in the evening and I think €5.90 for a 0.5 Krombacher is steep... So a good price-performance ratio - as many previous speakers have said had - unfortunately I can't see that given the price of the beer.

Home-style cuisine with a manageable menu and still acceptable prices. The Holstein Schnitzel was okay, but not a culinary highlight. Typical pub cuisine with a decent portion that fills you up. The service is attentive and very friendly. Here you can enjoy your beer for longer. However, there is only Krombacher or Budweiser, no Veltins. The high tables and stools are a little uncomfortable, just like a pub. There are a few other options nearby, so an immediate repeat visit is postponed. Also because card payment is not possible (you will be informed of this on a notice at the entrance)

A quaint pub with real home cooking. Delicious, hearty and actually freshly cooked. Plus a charming and attentive lady in service. Rounded off by a wonderful and authentic ambience that has grown there over the last 100 years. Definitely go there!!!

There were four of us here. The service person was new and inexperienced. She was very friendly but extremely slow. It took almost half an hour before we could even order. Unfortunately, the food overall was just okay. I had a knuckle of pork, which was really good and tasty. But friends had a steak au four that was very tough. For dessert we had Kaiserschmarrn, which didn't deserve this name. Only two points for service, as in addition to the (hopefully still) incompetent service, unfortunately no card payment is possible. But we were full and felt quite comfortable.

Friendly staff in a relaxed environment offering delicious food made with love at a good price. The portions are big.

ESSEN: Alteingesessenes Restaurant mit guter deutscher Küche. Der SERVICE gibt sein bestes. Gutes PREIS Leistungsverhältnis. Kultig: an Weihnachten gibts Gänsemenü (natürlich auf Vorbestellung) mit Grün-, Rot- und Rosenkohl und Kartoffeln oder Klößen(halb und halb). 2023 leider nur Keule f. 23.50€ knusprig, etwas trocken und wenig Fleisch. Wir hätten gern auch wie letztes Jahr 35€ bezahlt für was ordentliches. AMBIENTE Die Wärme der gemütlichen Kachelöfen hat was. Viel Dekoration vor allem alte Blechreklame und Hinweisschilder. FAZIT: Einfach mal ausprobieren - da macht man nix falsch.

Restaurant mit einem urigen Ambiente und guter Küche zu einem fairen Preis.

Para mí la principal desventaja es que como casi todo en Berlín no se pueda pagar con tarjeta. Respecto a la comida el plato fue abundante, lo único que la carne estaba demasiado salada. Ambiente 3, estaba aburrido faltaba alguna música , el lugar estaba bien decorado como un lugar de cocina tradicional.

Heute gabs leckere und empfehlenswerte Gänsekeule. Das Ambiente ist uhrig, aber im Winter etwas frisch. Man bekommt keine Hitzewallungen, aber es stört nur marginal.

Also ich hatte hier bereits mehrmals bestellt und war guter Dinge das sich ein Besuch lohnt. Dies war leider nicht der Fall. Fangen wir mit den Positiven Punkten an: Das Ambiente und die Musik war super. Das Würzfleisch und das Hamburger Schnitzel war phänomenal und würde ich sofort empfehlen. Allerdings ist die Vorspeise nicht notwendig da die Hauptgänge gigantische Portionen sind. (Neigen aber fast zu Lebensmittelverschwendung) Nicht so gut war leider das Hüftsteak. Dies war enttäuschend. Die Portion war gigantisch mindestens 400 Gramm. Dazu noch Pommes und Salat. Das Fleisch war in eine großen Stück und von Sehnen durchzogen und Zäh. Durch die Größe des Stücks war das Fleisch außen kross und im Kern absolut roh. Die Soße schien eine Fertige Bratensoße zu sein die eine schlag gemahlenen Pfeffer raufgekommene hat. Das Haar in der Soße gab den Extra Geschmackskick. Der Service war leider unbeholfen. Bei Preisen von mindestens 15 Euro und in Durchschnitt 18/19 Euro für ein Hauptgericht und 24 Euro Für eine Flasche Wein ist ein Service Level zu erwarten welches hier nicht ansatzweise gegeben war. Es war enorm schleppend obwohl das Restaurant an einem Samstag Abend nichtmal ansatzweise voll war. Die Gläser waren unpoliert mit fetten Fingerabdrücken versehen allesamt oben am Trinkansatz. (Zeit zum polieren gab es genug, die wurde aber am Handy hinter der Theke verbracht) Das Besteck zum Essen war unpassend da zum Steak ein normales (und stumpfes) Messer gegeben wurde welches das Fleisch Nicht bewältigen konnte. Ein Steakmesser gab es nur auf Nachfrage(wieder hinter der Theke am Handy). Die Reaktion auf das Haar in der Soße war ein „Ja hier hat keiner kurze Haare“. Meine Begleitung und ich sind beide Braunhaarig und ich möchte dann nicht wissen wo das Blonde oder Graue Haar den dann herkommt. Auf den Hinweis das Fleisch qualitativ ungenießbar war weil man es nicht kauen konnte kam nur ein „das geb ich weiter“. Sehr frech und unverschämt bei dem Preispunkt. Alles einzeln genommen sind dies alles Punkte die „mal“ passieren können aber alle zusammen finde ich es peinlich und bei den verlangten Preisen unzumutbar. Alles einzeln kleine Dinge die ein bischen Training beim Personal einfach hätten lösen können. Sehr schade.

Deutsche Küche mit Ost-Flair, leckeres Bier

Je les ais appelé pour une information au sujet des plats avant une commande à emporter et la dame m'a raccrocher au nez pretextant quelle ne parlais aucune autre langue qu'Allemand (je parlais en anglais et ai essayer de balbutier en allemand avant quelle me raccorche au nez violamment en me disant "désolé je ne parle qu'a des gens qui parlent allemand"). Absolument révoltant.

Originelle Berliner Kneipe,sanitäre Einrichtungen bedürfen einer Erneuerung.bedienung könnte aufmerksamer sein.

Bediening was niet zo vriendelijk. Eten was op zich goed maar niet bijzonder. Denk dat er in Berlijn leukere plekjes zijn om te gaan eten.

Great food and an excellent-value ‘business lunch’ menu with main dishes priced at €5-7 during the weekday. We had an array of dishes including bratwurst, pork knuckle and meatballs, which were very delicious, nicely presented, and we each had different potatoes - the bratwurst came with a creamy mash, and other dishes had boiled potatoes, roast potatoes, or chips. We had arrived late in the afternoon to Berlin, and had been struggling to find somewhere for lunch and thankfully stumbled across this place. Worth a visit!

Foi de facto uma desilusão! A comida foi hambúrguer (bife panado e não hambúrguer como foi pedido!) com batatas, que estava cheio de gordura com óleo a mais, que mostra que tiraram simplesmente da fritadeira para o prato sem preocupação de escorrer melhor a gordura! Quanto ao serviço, foi a primeira vez (em qualquer País dos que já fui) que o empregado pediu para pagar o almoço quando ainda estava a meio da refeição, simplesmente surreal! E ainda por cima só aceitavam dinheiro, sem que tivessem informado antes. Por acaso tinha dinheiro, e se não tivesse? Para além disto, a cerveja que pedi não estava fresca como deveria nem estava suficientemente gaseificada, o que revela uma enorme falta de respeito pelo cliente, porque obviamente que uma boa cerveja é sempre fresca e com gás, esta parecia morta! E estamos na época do Octoberfest e nem uma cerveja decente sabem servir! Enfim, foi mau demais, num espaço que tenta mostrar algum ambiente agradável, mas que mostra também pouco cuidado na apresentação e decoração. A não repetir de certeza!

Très abordable le midi (7€ avec boisson) 1ère fois : très bon hareng (matjesfilet), bien mariné, sauce aigre avec aneth et bon assaisonnement 2ème fois : même plat : hareng trop mariné et trop salé, dommage cette différence d'un jour à l'autre J'ai goûté les currywursts de mes amis : c'était bien moins raffiné que mon 1er hareng

Wir haben mehr als 45 Minuten auf das Essen gewartet. Niemand hat irgendwie etwas gesagt , oder sich dafür entschuldigt, dass das Essen sehr spät reserviert wurde. Es schmeckte auch nicht außergewöhnlich. Für den Preis fanden wir die Größe des Schnitzels extrem teuer. Die Bedienung war okay, man hatte aber das Gefühl, dass man sie störte. Schade.

Não gostei… extremamente demorado, comida mediana e apesar da tentativa de uma decoração cool, a aparência e de um lugar meio sujo. Em termos de preço, tem opções muito melhores e mais bem localizadas pelo mesmo valor. Uma decepção!!!!

Leider Enttäuschend!! Seit längerer Zeit hatte ich vor gehabt dieses lokal zu besuchen um evtl. in Zukunft auch mit meinen Gästen dort immer wieder einzukehren. Das Ambiente fanden wir alle originell und gemütlich. Das Essen war überwiegend lecker, außer unsere Forelle, diese hätte etwas Gewürze vertragen können. Allerdings der Service, wenn man überhaupt das so nennen kann, war eine Katastrophe!! Nicht nur dass man uns nicht begrüßt hat, wir müssten die Kellnerin zu allem auffordern, uns zu platzieren, die Bestellung aufzunehmen u.s.w.. Nach dem wir gegessen haben und über längere Zeit an leeren Tellern und Gläsern saßen, hatten wir keine Lust mehr gehabt die Bedienung nochmal zu motivieren und die Dessert-Karte zu bringen. Als wir vom Tisch aufstanden und am gehen waren, war das Geschirr immer noch nicht abgeräumt. Beim zahlen haben wir erfahren: nur Barzahlung!!! Zum Glück hatten wir etwas Bargeld dabei sonst hätten wir unsere Teller abräumen und abwaschen müssen. Fazit: die Gaststätte hat Potenzial aber nach so einem schlechten Service kommen wir nicht so schnell wieder, wenn überhaupt . SCHADE

Nettes kleines lokal mit toller Berliner Küche. Das Schnitzel ist meine Empfehlung. Freundliche Bedienung und faire Preise. Wir kommen wieder.

Hatte vor 4 Wochen nen Tisch reserviert zu humaner Zeit, weder mittags rum noch abends. Drei Personen auch nicht wirklich viel. Kommen an, ist die Tür verschlossen. Innen sitzt nen kleines Mädchen alleine an einem Tisch und sonst war der Laden verlassen. Niemand macht auf. Telefon ebenso Fehlanzeige. Daher die Frage: Was soll das?

Just had a really lovely experience in this very Germanic restaurant with what I guess would be considered ethentic German cuisine. Great value and a lovely host. Even offered to lend us an umbrella to get home as the heavens opened as we were leaving.

Wir waren mit 6 Kollegen zur Mittagszeit an einem Montag dort. Wir kannten das Restaurant von früher und da war es sehr gut. Jetzt leider nicht mehr. Das Lokal war fast leer. Auf unsere Getränke mussten wir an diesem heißen Tag trotzdem sehr lange warten. Bis unser Essen kam hat es auch gedauert. Das werteten wir aber noch als gutes Zeichen. Eben frisch zubereitet. 2 Leute haben den Matjes gegessen und fanden ihn auch ganz gut. Einmal hatten wir Kalbsleber. Die war tot gebraten. Einmal Heringe. Außen zu hell, trotzdem innen zu trocken. Fisch mit Bandnudeln: Der Kabeljau war trocken mit irgendwas paniert und ein TK Fertiggericht. Die Bandnudeln zu weich und in kleine Stücken geschnitten. Die Tomatensoße naja. Aber es geht noch schlimmer. Das Kohlrabischnitzel war zu hart zum essen. Dazu gab es die gleichen zerschnittenen Bandnudeln mit der gleichen Tomatensoße. Da es ja aber eine Tomatensahnesoße sein sollte, wurde noch ordendlich gesüßte Sprühsahne draufgegeben. Lecker. Das hat der Apfelmus vom Haus am Ende auch nicht rausgehauhen. Schade um das schöne Lokal das es früher mal war. Ich würde es nicht weiter empfehlen. Für Vegetarier schon gar nicht.

Urige Kneipe in Kreuzberg genauso urig wie das Restaurant ist die Bedienung und die Atmosphäre. Aber sehr günstige Preise und wirklich sehr gutes Essen in einem Ambiente das eher an 1985 erinnert als an heute. Das ist wirklich super cool!

Bardzo długi czas oczekiwania na jedzenie. Naprawdę długi. Samo jedzenie też takie sobie. Stek argentyński raczej Argentyny nie widział. W dodatku miał posmak wątróbki która zamawiał kolega... Więc chyba smażyły się razem. Mięso było twarde, ciężko było pokroić. Ziemniaczek z folii dobry ale nie dał rady uratować dania. Ceny za to w miarę przystępne.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Mittmann's, it is a really atmospheric place, retro tin signs abound, subdued lighting, good old fashioned service. The food was really good traditional German, the snitzel was good, the pickled cabbage was excellent and the little roast potatoes with onions and spring onions were very good. Service was pretty quick, the cost was quite reasonable and there was good beer on tap! The only thing to be aware of is they only take cash (at the time of writing) but there is an ATM literally 50 metres away. Definitely recommended!
