Restaurant Meteora in Magdeburg

We were on a state visit to Grandma, traveling from Berlin to Magdeburg. This restaurant was our choice. Unfortunately, I can't say anything positive about it. The owners should perhaps go to Berlin to see how high the bar has been raised. The food and service at this restaurant were abysmal. As far as I know, it's a Greek restaurant. I say it has absolutely nothing to do with Greek food. There were five of us. Each of us ordered a dish that could have, or rather SHOULD have, been served with tzatziki. Nothing! There was an open display case with salads in the entrance area. In the entrance area??!!!! How unhygienic is that?! My dish had shrimp. I could have counted them, and it seemed like they were cooking with Maggi seasoning. We had to wait a full 45 minutes for our food! When it was FINALLY served, an older lady breathed a sigh of relief. The waiter overheard and grumbled to himself, saying, "We're not a fast-food place here." Then the prices for the food were outrageous! Absolutely terrible. We won't be back.

The ambiance is excellent. Attentive service, but it would be nice to visit once or twice more. The food is authentic Greek food, with a bit more garlic here and there, etc., but tastes differ.

Delicious food at reasonable prices and great, attentive service. It couldn't be better. Thanks to the entire team at Meteora in Magdeburg.

The food is very tasty, but the only drawback (that's complaining at the highest level) is that there is no lunch during the week.

So far, it's always been a great experience. I ordered Hanem and unfortunately didn't check the order on-site. Unfortunately, part of the order was forgotten.

Very friendly and fast service, delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere. The terrace was already full when we arrived, despite the beautiful weather, but the spacious, bright glass conservatory provided the perfect ambiance.

At first, we felt comfortable and well looked after. With our drink order, we received a free ouzo. The food was delicious, and we even received a small welcome from the kitchen beforehand. Due to the pleasant atmosphere, we stayed until about 10 p.m., and the four of us ordered desserts and cocktails after dinner. Over time, we noticed that all the guests around us also received an ouzo with their payment. When we finally wanted to pay, we had to first get our attention, as not a single person had come out to pay for us in the last 45 minutes. We then had to wait another 12 minutes before someone finally asked for our money. When we asked if we could have an ouzo to finish, the unfriendly waitress simply replied, "No, we don't do that." When we explained to her what we'd witnessed around us over the past few hours, she talked her way out of it, saying, "We're only doing this as a courtesy, not everyone can get it... and I'm out of ice either," and all that. We weren't the last guests, and the restaurant is officially open until 10:30 p.m. We've eaten there several times, but if we're apparently no longer pleasant enough to receive an ouzo as a courtesy, this will probably be our last visit. At other Greek restaurants, you'll sometimes get jugs of ouzo placed on your table upon arrival, which are then refilled. We were truly disappointed here. The hospitality of the female waitress really needs improvement!

We went there for lunch today; unfortunately, our regular Greek restaurant is undergoing renovations. We went on a recommendation. The service and everything else was very good, and the staff were very friendly. Unfortunately, there was no ouzo to greet or leave... I'm not used to that. The food, well, what can I say? The gyro simply tasted of nothing, and it was very dark and dry. The salad buffet is very nice because you can just help yourself to whatever you like; unfortunately, no tomatoes or cucumbers. We won't recommend this Greek restaurant and were very disappointed.

Five of us went there for lunch today. Waited 1.5 hours for the food... selection was good, staff friendly, atmosphere ok. Portions great, unfortunately some raw (liver), taste more bland than tasty. Definitely not again.

The Meteora Restaurant is simply great – perfect for families and groups! I was there with my children and we received such a warm welcome from Paul, his wife and the entire team that we immediately felt at home. The team is incredibly attentive and child-friendly, always with a smile and full of patience. Our children loved it, and we adults were also able to fully enjoy the fantastic food and relaxed atmosphere. The dishes are fresh, authentic and prepared with a lot of love - a real taste experience. Paul, his wife and their team make every visit something very special. Thank you for the great service, we will definitely be back! Absolute recommendation for anyone looking for great cuisine and warm hospitality!

We ate with 19 people. The food was plentiful and tasted good, but unfortunately it was only lukewarm. Maybe you should preheat the plates. The wait was long, but that was probably due to the size of the company, which I personally don't accept as an excuse. Were somehow very overwhelmed. What I really liked was the cleanliness. Even the toilets were very clean, which is not always a given everywhere, unfortunately. Conclusion: we will come back again to test the restaurant with a smaller group.

After a long day and the accommodation within sight, I wanted to round off my trip to Magdeburg with a delicious meal and chose the Meteora restaurant. Without a reservation, I asked for a table after the Christmas holidays and was lucky - there was a spot available for me. The welcome ouzo really hit me in the head after many hours without food because here they don't serve "short drinks" but narrow half-full long drink glasses. So I struggled a bit with my eating but over time it got better. The portion of food was - for me - just right without having to leave the store feeling hungry or full and there is a small self-service salad bar. A small, fine selection of sweet dishes/desserts round off the delicious food offerings on the menu. The service staff was very friendly and seemed very well organized (well attended that evening), the food was tasty and the selection of dishes was tasty and quite clear. Thank you very much for this lovely end to the day.

Our food didn't taste good. The meat was too dry and the fries were in the deep fryer for too long. The salad bar is a good idea, unfortunately it is unimaginative and very simple.

Basically it was a cozy evening. Unfortunately we had to wait 1.5 hours for the food (the restaurant was extremely full and there were very few staff). The “special” taste was missing.

Food and service have been top for years. Price-performance is great. Even though it's always full, the service and food are great. Please make sure to reserve in advance!

The quality of the food has deteriorated greatly. Our grilled pepperoni was lukewarm. The fries for our main course were soggy and cold. The only thing that was great was the nice service staff. We were here on a Saturday, very busy but the service was very attentive and friendly. Food was very tasty. The tomato soup could have been hotter. The salad buffet was very appealing and everything was fresh. We had made a reservation, which you should also do on the weekend. Otherwise, always happy.

The food is Greek, the service is modern German. You cannot order a Greek mocha 15 minutes before lunch because it takes too long... Food was OK but the mood was dampened.

The restaurant is very typically Greek. The staff is very hard working and very committed. The food is above average for us. The fact that you sometimes wait in front of the door to get in is a sign of its popularity. We always enjoy coming here.

Very small menu. The meat was more well-done, so it was dry and didn't taste like a fillet. Changes to the supplement will be charged extra. Takeaway packaging also costs extra. No ouzo's!!!? The food was brought to the table quickly, there was even a Uso before the meal.....that was it. For the rest of the evening we were almost on our own, I think we were invisible after paying at the cash register We were then granted another Uso upon request. For me the first and last time.

Once and never again. I had ordered lamb fillet in cassis sauce with croquettes, I got something similar to goulash in a very thin sauce, the meat was bloody on the inside and the sauce was so thin that it couldn't stick to the meat. The croquettes were ok and served so nicely and carelessly on a plate that was way too big. Nope, I won't come here again. By the way, the food was returned and didn't have to be paid for, which was very fair.

My husband and I wanted to go out for lunch today on Valentine's Day and decide to go to Meleora in Magdeburg. We ordered the Athens plates twice and were excited about our food. I had to say that this was completely the wrong decision that we made to eat there. A meal cost 19 euros without tzatziki, which you had to order separately (there were times when there was always a good portion on the plate) paid for today Everything extra makes you vomit. Well, in any case I couldn't eat half of the meat. Gyros were totally dry and hard, not to mention the liver. If you had put the sole of a shoe on the plate you wouldn't have noticed the difference. I told this to the condition and she agreed with me and out of tolerance it would have been fair they would have given my food a 50% discount, but no I paid full price. This is such a mess because I didn't put such food on the plate. Never go to the store again, that's for sure

Compulsive consumption!!!!! Goodbye Greek hospitality. Greed for sales is greater. Anyone who doesn't eat enough will be cashed in (by Mrs. Zemke 🫤) and shown the door. There are enough other Greeks in MD where you are welcome, even if you "just" order appetizers.

Kurzfristig an einem Freitag Abend einen Tisch für 6 Personen bekommen. Essen war lecker, Service prima. Gerne wieder

Essen wie immer gut, Personal sehr freundlich. Lautstärke hoch, aber das liegt an den Gästen, die sich scheinbar immer übertrumpfen wollen. Immer wieder gern dort zum Essen!

Ein sehr schönes Restaurant, sehr gutes Essen und freundliches Personal. Wenn man mit seinen Lieben jedoch ein entspanntes Essen genießen möchte sollte man sich ein anderes Restaurant suchen. Wir hatten zu 17:30 Uhr einen Tisch reserviert und wurden dann um 19:00 Uhr „nett“ gebeten die Lokalität zu verlassen, da die nächsten Gäste warten. Ein entspanntes austrinken der bestellten Getränke war leider nicht mehr möglich. Sehr schade!

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal im Meteora essen, und waren total begeistert. Das Essen ist frisch, reichlich und super lecker. Alle Mitarbeiter sind sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Man sollte unbedingt reservieren,da es am Wochenende sehr gut besucht ist.

Ein offensichtlich beliebtes Restaurant, das zum Samstagabend voll war. Wir hatten glücklicherweise reserviert und wurden nett und professionell bedient. Das Essen schmeckte hervorragend. Leider war der Innenraum aufgrund der vielen Menschen sehr laut und es gab keinen Ouzo. Aber das ist auf hohem Niveau gejammert.

Sehr gutes Essen-FCM Teller ist zu empfehlen. Freitag Abend war es sehr voll- jedoch ausreichend Personal vor Ort.

Definitiv das beste griechische Lokal in Magdeburg. Wir sind seit Jahren Stammkunde und das Essen hat seit jeher gleichbleibend hohe Qualität. Der Service ist hervorragend und man wird auch vom Chef und der Chefin persönlich bedient! Selbst die Kinder fragen mittlerweile:"Wann können wir wieder zu Paulos fahren?" Macht weiter so, wir freuen uns schon auf unseren nächsten Besuch!

Wir waren mit Freunden heute das erste mal im METEORA. Der erste Eindruck ear sehr positiv. Das Restaurant schön eingerichtet und sehr sauber. Dann die Bedienung: Das gesamte Personal sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Note 1! Das Essen: Alles hat sehr gut geschmeckt und es waren riesige Portionen. Unsere Sonderwünsche beim Zusammenstellen der Speisen wurde zu unserer vollsten Zufriedenheit und mit einer Gelassenheit erfüllt. Hier fühlt man sich von der ersten Minute an als gern gesehener Gast. Wir werden das METEORA weiterempfehlen und es wird auf jeden Fall ein Wiedersehen geben. Das ist für mich Gastronomie mit Sternchen. Selbst der Chef Paulos hat mitgearbeitet und jede Mitarbeiter hatte stets ein Lächeln im Gesicht. Vielen Dank für den schönen Abend, auch im Namen meiner Freunde. Es hat uns sehr gefallen. Wir kommen regelmäßig in dieses Restaurant und wurden noch nie enttäuscht! Der Service ist einfach klasse. Das Essen ist immer super lecker, einen leckeren Salat kann man sich auch noch zusammenstellen. Wir kommen jederzeit gern wieder her :)

Wir hatten Essen bestellt. Ich war noch nie so enttäuscht. Nie wieder würde ich für den Preis bestellen. Alles war tot gegart und teilweise schmeckte es nach nix oder verbrannt. Das beste waren die pommes. Traurig für ein Griechen.
